Couple things which seem to pop up regularly or have been a problem. You are female, people were unhappy no matter what I did so I just went with the coin. Probably won't change, but it doesn't really matter as you have no sex drive or anything of the sort. This is an AU. That means no Ichigo, no Orihime, none of the characters from Bleach you know exist, and some of the rules about how things work have changed from the kuboverse. People seem to keep missing it so I put it in first just to get it out there. We already discussed maybe letting some of them in, but it degenerated into meta-gaming too fast. This is your story, not theirs, no need to bring them into it. Lastly from now on we will only be able to upgrade at certain downtime in the story. This is to help move the plot along. Oh, also since your monologue has been behaving pretty much as "We're all mad here" would have more or less I am taking it off the power list. No new tail, but that's a thing.

If you want to catch up: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Hollow%20Quest%20Redux If some one wants to archive it, please tag EXACTLY THE SAME as the first Hollow Quest Redux. Nothing else extra, just the exact same tags. Thank you

You are Risa Schrödinger, the true ruler of Hueco Mundo and the partner to Lucifer Morningstar and you are currently teaching a high school physics class. In the class there is an empty seat towards the rear and a pair of identical twins sitting at the front. One with semi-long hair and the other with short shaggy hair, both dark blue. These twins are noticeable not only because their hair color which is a total attempt at copying you, but because their souls give off a particular sort of energy. The sort of energy that the weird girl who shot at you with the magic laser bow had though not as thick on them both. I'm still a but lost as to how a magical laser bow works anyway, is it like, the energy shoots energy? That seems pretty stupid to me, and souls have chains for some reason and I'm cool with that!

"S-Sensei?" A student asks as you glare out the window, silently cursing the logic of spirit bows.

"Yes?" You ask, making sure the irritation doesn't show in your voice.

"You've been staring out the window for a little while now." He continues making you blink.

Damn you internal voice! Quick! Say something physicsy!

" A person sees a heavy stone strike the concrete pavement. A moment later two sounds are heard from the impact: one travels in the air and the other in the concrete, and they are 1.07s apart. How far away did the impact occur? Take the speed of sound in concrete as 2.95x103 m/s and give your answer in km." You command making the students blink. "Come on then, I don't have all day." You say before sitting down in the roller chair. The students seem lost but one of the Quincy boys raise their hands.

"Oh! A hand raised! Yes?" You ask and the shaggy haired boy stands.

"We have not learned that yet." He explains making you nod.

"I see, and your name is...?" You ask making him give you a stupid grin.
(1/2)
>>
"Kouta, Koga Kouta and this is my brother Friedhelm." He explains. "Yeah, I know, weird name, huh? Ah, we were named for our grandfathers who-" He starts but you interrupt.

"Twins are creepy." You state.

He looks at you for a few seconds before asking "huh?".

"Most of us were twins in the womb, but one eats the other one, like sharks. Twins are just the ones who couldn't go through with it, or were plotting something when they get out." You explain making the stares in the class shift from you to him

After a minute of silence, he sits back down confused.

You got their names now, and they are looking through a physics book to try and answer your question.

Any particular way you want to kill time?

Can I have a more detailed description of Sin-Fin?

[x] Empty seat.
Can't have these little bastards avoiding us before we even give them a reason to.
[x] Memorize the Quincies' smell.
No half-quotes either, have both of them answer a question on the board at the same time and smell them.
[plosions] X
Because we have a science lab.
>>
I have a question, how powerful is Fob watch? If say we wanted to fake ourselves a back-story as either a nofungami or a quincy how convincingly could we play the role? I'd assume we'd lose a bit of power obviously.
>>

Pretty much expecting girlier Ulq with red instead of green and in a jester getup.

But more detail is always better.
>>
You take a second to remember the Quincy boy's smell for later mental sniffing. Gross, sorry.

"That seat seems to be empty. Why is it empty?" You ask making the other students whisper and seem to stiffen up.

After a few moments of silence you sigh. "Who ever answers this question won't have to answer the physics question. Or the post quiz speculation about what the creepy blue haired people are plotting." You explain and suddenly the class is full of hands.

You pick the smartest looking boy and he stands. "That's Watanabe Kyoko's seat and-" He says but you hold up your hand.

"Pause! Which is her family name?" You ask.

"Er... Watanabe?" He clarifies.

I don't like that at all. Brain, from now on switch it so it is proper and British. Family last, it's too confusing otherwise.

"Should... sensei you have a strange look should I go on?" He asks and you nod. "Er, that's Kyoko Watanabe's seat." Thank you brain. "She always misses classes, so don't worry too much about it. Most the other teachers don't either." He explains.

I see. Herman, time rest his damned being, was right. Youths today are going bad!

What should you do about this?

I don't know, apparently we did a really good job of keeping a low profile, so most think that Jager won on her own or something.

You must educate this girl! Soon she will be smoking cigarettes, and bleaching her hair and other delinquent girl related things.

"Where does she hang out?" You ask, and again the room is silent. "Roof? Is it the roof? The comic books I read said roof." You explain. You didn't actually read any comic books.

"If-If I answer will I not have to answer the troubling questions?" A dumb looking student in the back with a rat tail asks.

"Only if you cut your hair. Seriously." You explain.

"Uh, she is around the gym storage shed. She shows up for home room then hangs out there after they take attendance. So I'm free from the class, right?" He asks hopefully.

"Your hair still makes you look like an asshole, so no. Instead you get to help me in an experiment!" You declare, pulling some chemicals from someplace.

"Those, uh, those seem to be really cool physical chemicals?" The student asks as he climbs up to the front of the room.

You give a smile as you look over your materials. "Now then, who here knows about exothermic reactions and calculating force?" You ask as a few hands come up.

"Now the majority of these are standard household cleaning supplies, which is good. Say Thatcher's goons have finally started a major crackdown because... well, she's thatcher and you need a way to take out a ton of pigs at once." You explain the chemical process to making an anarchy inspired IED.

-----

"-And that's why you can't trust anyone who calls themselves Afro "Murderhobo" longshanks." You finish imparting your wisdom as your explosive is set on the desk.
(1/2)
>>
"Now, I've given you the formula for calculating the force of this bomb. I also have made a crude timer system out of a battery and someone's alarm clock. I have no idea it just shows up in my inventory." You explain as you set it. "Now then, if you don't tell me how much force this will give off within the next.... 47 seconds, it goes off." You explain sitting on the desk with a smile.

"Wha-" One of the twins say stupidly.

"Forty two seconds." You explain as they start writing down quickly.

One clever girl runs to the door and finds it locked she panics a little.

You hum along quietly with the ticking and tocking and finally. One of the quincy boys stands. The German one. "8000 [Kg* m/s^2], though with the mass given I-" He starts.

"Did you think of it at the same time? Do you have sort of a hive going on in there? Creepy-" You shudder as the timer hits zero and a massive among of confetti and ribbons shoots out over the room.

"Good exercise! Think on your feet. Keep your cool under pressure!" You smile.

After a few moments of silence you let the coil charge then discharge with a sharp crack of electricity and the smell of burn ozone. The students laugh, they run, and they are so shocked. Sorry.

"Tesla was robbed!" You shout as the manifested fury of Thor arcs across the class. "Edison was a tosser!" You shout as the lighting grows in power.

Make sure to give some sort of comment to Akira about this being part of the test and he's good at thinking clearly in a seemingly dangerous situation. He gets a gold star. You remember you don't actually get hungry, your gigai running on your absurdly large spirit energy and decide to go find the girl in the gym storage area. It takes you a while to find the place, mostly because this is the first time you have ever actually been to a Japanese school, but eventually find it. On closer inspection that wasn't it at all and the janitor is going to be pissed when he finds what you did with all his things.

You continue to look around the area until you come across two familiar scents. One, the girl from earlier who noticed you despite cloaking, and the other the foul fetid scent of cigarettes. Not even good ones or ones with good stuff in them. You storm angrily towards the offending smell and see a girl with bleach blonde hair and a skirt a bit too long leaning against the building. She looks at you and takes another puff of her cigarette. "Yer.... that chick from earlier right?" She asks. "Cool shirt." She uses as an opener.

"I'm too late! Tiffany was right! The moral decay of youth is my fault! Mine! If only I didn't almost blow up a classroom and went straight to find her, she wouldn't be down the wrong path!" You mope momentarily.

"Wha-The fuck lady? What's wrong with you?" She asks dropping her cigarette butt and crushing it under heel.

"No! I can still fix this! I'm a doctor except for when I'm not! I can save you." You explain with hope in your eyes.
(1/2)
>>
"Huh? Hey, you trying to start something lady? Huh? You want to go?! I give you a compliment and it gets to your head you cocky-" She fumes, her spirit energy growing with her anger.

You want to study her spirit energy more, but you hear something behind you. You turn and see a large hollow with a frog like face, a bull like body on hind legs and large spines or ridges going down its back. It lets out that weird cry the scrubs always let out.

"Shit. Not now. Uh, hey lady. Alight I'll listen to you, okay? Just go away!" She states making you look back at her.

"Hm?" You ask, the momentary bug slipping your mind.

"Look, just go okay! I'll seriously fucking hurt you if you don't! Get the fuck away from me!" She shouts.

Seems she noticed she was noticed. Lucky

How you want to play this?
[]Pretend you can't see the hollow
[]Tell her you can see the hollow and run with her

Jesus this is till going on? We will put it to a vote then. 1 for Don Schrodinger 2 for effortless beat. 3 for pretending we can't see it and 4 for putting up a struggle and making it look like we barely managed with a slightly higher spirit power.

The whole POINT of the club would be to check out cool shit. We do NOT want to attract attention to ourselves by saying "HEY GUYS DID YOU KNOW THERE'S A SPIRIT WORLD AND THERE'S HOLLOWS AND DEAD PEOPLE AND EVERYTHING IS TOTALLY REAL AND I CAN TOTALLY KILL THESE GUYS IN ONE PUNCH EVEN THOUGH THESE DUDES WITH SWORDS HAVE A REALLY HARD TIME WITH THEM!"

It's called subtlety. We suggest there MAY be ghosts out here (which some of our students already know) and then go to investigate matters to introduce them through fun and shenanigans.

A Menos Grande appears in the park, the Kids go out to try and defeat it. They are doing little damage to it; Then Schrodinger appears and starts yelling at the Kids that they have to return to school for their lessons, completely ignoring the Gillian... probably ending up dragging them back...

You cross your arms over your chest and laugh. "Buwahahahahaha! The spirits are always with you!" You shout performing some exorcism dance.

"Now, evil spirit! Begone!" You point at the hollow making an illusion of yourself in your real form and glaring that only the hollow can see.

Your command seems to have worked as the hollow turns around and leaves, not wanting to mess with you evidently.

"Buwahahahahaha! The spirits are always with you!" You shout gladly, proud your moment of triumph has shined.

She doesn't seem to be rushing into your arms, so you pause your strange laughter and look at her. Her spirit energy seems to be growing quite a lot actually, not really anywhere close to menos but still cool for a human. "-Fucking joke?" She asks

"Pardon?" You ask confused.

"Do you think my life is a fucking joke you sick peace of shit!" She shouts and delivers an energy enhanced punch.

You don't no how to react to it so you just move your head slightly. "I could have been killed and you laughing and sack of crap. No. No you stay the FUCK away from me! Treating me like I'm some stupid bitch. When I find who set you up to this... Fuck you! If you ever come near me again I will fucking kill you!" She shouts storming off.

That went over worse than possibly expected.

The school bell rings for lunch to end! Capital!

You do sort of have a job so you return to the classroom. This time, ART!

We can train her to fight those things. Also, we can just force her to listen to us because we are really fucking strong and have spooky magic.
>>
>>25459710
Eh, the previous decision was pretty hard and a lot of ideas were thrown around, each with equal merit (except Pandora Cero) which lead to a lot of discussion.

>>
>>25459744

I doubt going to her house is the best bet.
I would suggest leaving her for few days, then if we happen to stumble across her somewhere, we can attempt secondary bridge construction.

Based on her reaction, it seems that she has a rather unpleasant history with Hollows.

If we wished to go 'all or nothing' on the matter, she threatened to kill us, we hunt her down and let her try. Our combat superiority effectively garentees our victory... Or alternatively, we could let her vent her anger and frustrations. Though that one does have the slim possibility of the whole 'emotional breakdown' thing...

Either way, We have the best part of 5 potential recruits. We can always try for round 2 another time.
>>
>>25459744

Giving her a few days to cool down might be a good idea here.

She's either really prideful or there's a line that was crossed there that we didn't know about.

Mind your shading! Worst drawing gets thrown to the Egyptian blood sport pit to the delight of the fans!" You explain.

That isn't actually a thing.

"False alarm, turns out those aren't a thing. Have at it!" You command walking around.

They are all awful at art, you note sadly. Especially Ryouichi, for some reason the banana is totally wrong. No being born of your spirit energy would... actually can you draw? You cautiously pick up a pencil and sketch the shit out of some fruit. Yeah, you got this.

You are having so much fun making the banana wage a risk like battle against the apples, using the might of the captured avocado to fight the- You could go for one of those. Avocados are your new best of all.

It's pretty soothing.

MEMORY: Some skill at art

You have another art class to deal with and as you enter the room you shudder. The Twincies are watching you with their cold dead German eyes, you shudder as they move in sequence to stare at you, their quincy eyes just-

"Okay, stop, I am freaking myself out here." You command.

My bad. We good?

"Yeah." You mutter.

"Sensei? Who are you talking to?" The smart girl from before asks.

"Oh, just collecting my thoughts. Helps to say them out loud. So, fruit! Fair warning, touch the Avocado and I might fail you." You explain.

"It's fake Sensei." Kouta explains.

You assume she had control of her ability. Which she did not.

You also assume the ability to, oh I dunno, see ghosts and spirits didn't get her picked on from her classmates. Which made her madder and drew more horrible things to her so she distanced herself. She knows for a fact monsters don't go away when you tell them to, so some random person she has never met just walked up to her and made fun of her. Over something horrible.

Your very last sentence is silly. AE never implied she was stable.
In fact, the whole skipping of class, smoking cigarettes at school, hanging alone and secluded, very much foreshadowed the characters instability.
My god I feel so bad for AE that he has players like you.

Highschoolers are half formed, emotionally stunted, little shits who operate purely upon base emotions. They are like scrub hollows that are horny and hungry instead just hungry.

I assume super powered highschoolers are even worse.

I'm not saying it wasn't.
Just some of the players seem to think they have prophetic powers and could have totally, 100% predicted that it was horrible suggestion and that they knew which one was the right. It could have played either way from our point of view.

I was all for "pretend not to see it" before someone pointed it out that it went against what we were planning and no one voted for it. It wasn't the best choice, I guess, but not that bad either.

You spend the rest of the afternoon cleaning up the shrine you plan on squatting at. You patch a few of the holes in the roof and get rid of the fallen trees around the shrine.

It is now night time.

You look over the city that is slowly bathed in darkness, but it is a false darkness as the light of the city come on and all of it's glamor awakens to-

"What are you doing?" You ask the annoying narrative voice in your head.

Trying to get a new vibe.

"Well stop it." You command.

It is now night time. The city is covered in lights, which might make it hard to sleep. If you slept. You do not.

Then we explain some sob story going something along the lines of "Listen, about earlier. I wasn't sure how to handle the situation. I sensed something in you, and I wanted you to see that I was also unique. Like you. I can help you, I know there are a lot of confusing problems you're dealing with, and I know how it is. I thought they were using the common sense that tells you not to act like a weirdo in front of someone they have never met in what was a tense situation for them unless you want an extreme reaction one way of the other.

Pretending to see nothing would have been second worst choice only because it would have been pretty hard to get her to trust you if she discovered you were lieing later and to get her to join your club. She liked to remain distant. Still doable but still.

Defeating it effortlessly would have gotten mixed results. She would have been in awe and try to become stronger like you, but would have been generally wary.

Best would have been faking a struggle.

Second best would be telling her you saw it and fake it chasing you for a while before you "escape".

I suppose some players might be overly critical, but it's sort of like a "I fucking called it moment" so don't take it too hard, it is just an outlet for frustration.

You spend some time looking around the residential area. You manage to find the twincies place, and Ryouichi was easy enough too. You decide your lesson plans for physics should be by the books with a healthy dose of danger and experiments thrown in because they keep the kids interested. You are the best at science. Art however you let them draw and paint what ever they want. You decide Berserk girl isn't worth getting your panties in a twist, maybe worth asking Lucifer about at point if you are curious about the lore, and then you finally make it to the weekend! You are in the teacher's room, your desk a tiny replica of the battle of Hastings if they had laser canons and pumas.

You seem to have some free time left before the kids leave for home to play their video games, and their rock and roll, and their devil worship.

Anything you want to do?

How so? You don't get infinite cheat codes to fix fuck ups. Why should AE break his chapters and his game just because anon doesn't pick an action that works well for the situation at hand? In order for success to have any value, there must be a potential for failure. We choose a route that lead to catastrophic failure in this case, not sure how the result is railroady.

Let's just move on. She probably went off in a huff and is on a journey of self-reflection or something or just throwing a days-long tantrum. We must focus on our true objective here: to get that one kid on the road of becoming a Shinigami. Anything else is just icing on the cake.
>>
>>25461470
Obsession over fuckups has pretty much been the backbone of this quest and our driving force in general. It's what caused us to take over HUEco Mundo and what fuels our need for vengeance against SS and the Soul King. We should keep at it.

Even so, can we please stop bitching about this? This is derailing the thread. Yeah, the girl has disappeared to unknown areas. Oh well, we'll deal. We may run across her at some point in the future, and if we do we may be able to reconcile. If not she's not at our throats or whatever. And if we don't see her again? Who cares. She was probably awesome but we'll be fine.
>>
>>25461561
Because we had no idea how our decision would turn out? We were trying to hide our powerlevel whilst simultaneously setting up the TEEN GHOST SQUAD ADVENTURE CLUB. If we had somehow known about her situation and feelings on the matter and still chose this route, then I agree that the players deserve severe punishment. That was what happened in our freestyle rap battle, where we might've guessed that challenging a shinigami lieutenant was a Bad Move. That's not what happened here. We had absolutely no way of knowing how any of the decisions would've turned out. And now because we chose the wrong one she is somehow gone probably forever with zero explanation how it happened or who she was with zero chance of finding this information ever, which is something that neither the players nor the QM are very pleased with. Having at least some chance to make up for our fairly innocent mistake (at a price, possibly a heavy one) would've been a lot more fun for everyone involved.

I'll let it rest now. My sodium levels are rather high.

Guys, hate to be the one to say this, but AE is to blame here, because we didn't know anything about the girl and had no way of knowing how she would react to anything. So it's just unfair to send her away forever when we had no way of knowing. Maybe she was really a drama nut and would have no respect for us if we struggled. Maybe she was actually a satanist and would only follow us if we did Pandora Cero. We didn't know. It's bullshit if we don't have chances to make amends.

AE wrote a character and knew how he wanted her to react, but didn't have the time to tell us but acted like he had.

But we didn't have that choice, the closest would have been to play along and pretend we didn't see the hollow, which was the second worst choice. We HAD to take a chance, and we took wrong.

>Finally catch up with the thread.
>This shit again.

This is pretty much the entire problem with Azure's quests. Not saying it's his fault, or at least not entirely- but here it is.

There is a serious failure of communication in what they players expect and what he has planned/actually happens.

So we all jump on option 'a' thinking it means something completely different than it actually does.

>The one that immediately springs to mind was the 'look around for Lotus' choice in AIDA that ended with us running around like a retard, not doing the thing we specifically asked to do when/if we found her, wasting more time than we would ever have accepted if he gave us the choice, and then pissed of one of the most important running NPCs into becoming a direct antagonist for something we didn't want to do in the first place.

Though, to be completely fair, that was the single most dramatic example of this miscommunication.

In this case, we were handed a character with no real direct and obvious clue that she might flip out to the degree that she did, and we happened to pick a bad way of dealing with it.

Fair enough in a way, shit happens.

The idea that this was bad enough to completely write her out of the Quest seems a tad much though.

Especially since we didn't have enough exposure to the character to have any idea the scale of the consequences involved with the choice.

Especially since he's apologized for doing this exact bait and switch harsh dialogue choice flipout in the past because it's both retarded and unfair.

ESPECIALLY SINCE we weren't even given the choice to try and pretend to fix things up. Even the 'rap battle' gave us a chance to try and run away maybe. We weren't even allowed to go 'class can wait five seconds' after the flipout to try and talk things over.

>getting someone torture

Where does this come from? He said she would be just "punished", it could be anything. I don't think it was ever confirmed she was tortured, or if she was physically punished, how severe it was.
>>
I'm not sure why it was such a surprise that the woman who thought it was a good idea to make a (fake) bomb and a tesla coil in the middle of a classroom would approach things with that girl in a similarly over-the-top matter.

I guess she was just so special that we should know that Schrodinger would have to do a 180 from her standard behavior.
>>
>>25462903
I guess I'm just taking it as a hint that this world is much bigger and populated with beings much more powerful than we've previously seen or had been implied. A lot of useful OOC info came out of this failure, specifically the relative power levels of us, trained demigods, archfiends, and gods. We have a lot of room for growth.
>>
>>25462918
hence we go to the antic shop she disappeared at trying to find her giving AE a way to possibly write her back in to the story.
>>
>>25462976
And again, her getting really really upset is fine, that makes her interesting, I mean being a crazy asshole has negative consequences a lot of the time.
>>
>>25462990

But there are gentler ways to introduce that sort of thing.

Like having some weird spirit hobo whom the Hollows seem to shun sitting at the corner mumbling some foreign language. Or having some sort of Norse equivalent of a Soul Reaper doing some covert scouting for mortal talent.
>>
>>25462990
Azure said before that we'd need to become some kind of a god to break all reality to bring back Isabella.
Which is what the end goal of this quest is.
>>
>>25462862

The thing is, that' one level of fucked. I'd be willing to forgive and forget like five different kinds of fucked.

There's more than five levels of fucked is the problem we have. I mean, bad choices get punished, cool. Bad choices getting punished unevenly followed by an immediate timeskip we aren't allowed to veto is Harsh, but forgivable.

Having the time skip cover her apparently getting on the first plane to 'anywhere the fuck but this quest ever again' land is pushing it to an extreme.

Actively taunting us about said bad choice, talking about how it affected things, arbitrily deleting her and the cool related stuff he had planned out over SPITE is where we draw the 'you can fuck right off line'.

All things considered, we're actually giving him a pretty broad leeway. BECAUSE if it weren't for shit like this he'd probably be the best QM.

>>25462976

To be completely fair, she had absolutely no idea we did any of that shit. Which was the entire reason we were tracking her down.
>>
>>25462920
>huge public following
And yet just about every character with enough spiritual sense to perceive hollows finds him annoying as hell. I see your point though.

Conversely, wouldn't knowing anything about the Don having a following be a bit meta-gamey? I mean this is an AU so he doesn't exist after all.
>>
>>25463030
I was more referring to AE who decided that Schrodinger acting over-the-top and melodramatic was the most terrible thing we've ever done.
>>
>>25463030
>To be completely fair, she had absolutely no idea we did any of that shit. Which was the entire reason we were tracking her down.

>>25463026

I kinda wonder what our win-state would look like to the current powers that be.

"I have to say, out of all the ways the world could have ended.... I did not expect some sort of slutty undead cat-girl rocker chick to blow everything up over a fern. I am completely comfortable in calling this something we didn't expect to happen."
>>
>>25463015
Just a fact of the character that I'm surprised people don't understand.

>Want to be an oddball? Fine
>Want everyone to be cool with how you act?
Guess you should have acted normal if you wanted a normal reaction.

Seriously, how can we bitch about over the top responses? We're the queen of over the top responses.
>>
>>25463011
Which at this point I would find disappointing and hypocritical of AE. We lost access to the easy in with Odin, it'd make our actions meaningless to suddenly reverse that.
>>
>>25462936
>That's just being a spiteful cunt.

Problem is, I'm feeling as spiteful as him towards the rest of you faggots, so...

>>25463074
No, it shows that overdramatic embellishments at the wrong moments are moronic and ill thought.
>>
I find the fall out from this interesting in conjunction to our reliance on fatebreaker. The voices in Risa's head are insecure neurotic perfectionists who will break reality itself so as to avoid a perceived failure.
>>
>>25463078

>>
>>25463078

I don't know why that line made me laugh so hard.

I just have the mental image of Odin, Lucifer and a couple of other deity level dudes hanging out like that scene from Anchorman.

"Well, that escalated quickly." They resume floating in some white endless featureless void for a few seconds before he continues. "I mean, that really got out of hand."

>>
I think I'd be more okay with the whole situation if AE hadn't acted differently for it than he had for almost every other situation.

We got 1 roll, which was a 52 (slightly above average)

Every other roll in the game has been best of 3, best of 5.

In fact, one of our abilities is a best of 5 promise.

So even a 52, which would be a medium-pass roll, wasn't good enough, on top of it already being a difficult roll since it was only 1 roll allowed.

The situation was handled as if we'd rolled a nat 1. Not a mid-tier roll.
>>
>>25463063

Probably gone.

He said earlier that he was thinking about taking an extended break depending on hos this quest went.

And... it certainly did not go well.
>>
And I am back after reading though. Okay, having her vanish forever from you making literally the worst possible choice was a cunty move.

Saying I was bummed about it too was my way of showing I wasn't just punishing the players but in the context it came off as a bit cunty. Okay, got it. Here are my frustrations going into this.

This isn't the first time I presented the option of learning more about another part of the world only to have it either ignored or totally blow up in my face. You have no way of knowing I wanted to get the remains of a Norse thing going, but it still sort of stings.

Anon decides to just head straight to the random girl who he has never met without asking the other students, without asking the other teachers, just straight up "Oh, option A please QM" So I decide "Fine, okay, they want a little bit more structure in these situations. No problem I will give them a bunch of options which literally can not fail for actions like these. Just trying to build them up their power base. Here, lets use this character I made." Then you show up and instead of anything else it's "No QM, this lul random choice is best. It's a write in." I can't just come out and say 'This is literally the worst possible move you can make anon, do not do it' because that would be holding your hand too much so I try to do everything short of it. I tell you two of the options are really bad. So I decide "Okay, the players don't want this character clearly I am doing something horribly wrong as a QM. I try to make them original and people don't want to deal with them, I try to take some from cannon when they ask for it and they hate that."

How can we make this right without a retcon, or if it's too fucked for redemption I can drop the quest here.
>>

To make this right without retcon: I say just let the girl lie low for a while, then have her pop up at some point in the semi-near future. She doesn't need to be gone for good, just throw her in our face again later in a situation where redemption will be possible, but difficult.

Just treat her like she is a PC. Something PLOT related on her arc of being a Baresark occurred. When we go wandering later, we can run into something indicative of PLOT, and then she can be reintroduced later.

Something is clearly going wrong because this history of bad decisions is not limited to here and as the story teller I was the one guiding you to them.
>>25463390
It is a failing as a QM, not a personal attack though? If you said something about my person it would have been something but this is about me writing and running as a QM. The problem wasn't consequences, it was the whole 'she's gone forever now fuck off' thing that came after it. Like that one guy said, THIS IS YOUR ONLY PROBLEM.

I mean, even the rap battle you gave a chance to walk away from when it became completely obvious how badly the plan was going.

It wouldn't even really be a retcon like these other guys said: maybe she left. Maybe she's still angry and will be upset when/if we see her again. Maybe she'll decide she overreacted and apologize or something.

The idea of her up and vanishing forever was the issue. She could have just gone out for coffee and we missed her or something, you don't have to go back on anything dramatic.

Just.... next time you feel like you're gonna flip out like this take a deep breath and say something. Maybe not something spoilery or even related to the quest. Just take a sec to cool your tits if you need it. We can wait.
