Okay, so it's been a few threads and a lot of info has been dumped so I felt it would be best to do one of these again. Others are more than welcome to come in and speak up about things I miss, in fact I encourage it.

This is to help players get into it without sorting through threads and yelling and what not. So let's start with the skinny of it.

http://pastebin.com/apwqFQpL character sheet and description.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1x8GO0Gs08hkG_OzCQxgxkG0QIerMykvSV1XJH9wE5BY Awesome e-book with vague character goals at the bottom.

And it's still mostly the same as the wip I posted to twitter. Just some small changes and fixes, minor shading I suck ass at shading and some other small thing I'm sure I'm forgetting.

Not sure if I want to keep the scratchy eye lines. It doesn't look quite right, but when I removed them it looked even more wrong.

Also the mask is kinda fucked up on the (anatomical) left side, but I'm not sure if I should fix it or not because it almost-sorta makes a neat illusion of the face looking to the side even though it's looking straight ahead. Would be easy to fix if I wanted to, though.

And I really should fix the bottom-y bits of hair. Looks awful.

But, anyway, anyone else have suggestions for what to do to it?

You are Risa Schrödinger, most times going by Schrödinger unless QM is feeling lazy. You died and haunted an arbies in the 1980s, which is weird because I don't think arby'[s was around back then, specifically you suicided because you did everything in life and got really bored so decided the afterlife would be more fun. Then being a ghost sucked so you ripped out your soul chain and became a hollow.

You got the munchies so you ate some souls and met a plant hollow, which was weird because who becomes a potted plant after becoming a soul eating monster? Seriously? Anyway the plant and you were killed when you tried to rule of cool a lieutenant level shinigami and had pretty average/bad rolls.

He thought you were not funky and ripped away have your body with his magic horn sword and then a natural one on trying to escape in when a ton of them were converging on you again meant you died. Undied. What ever. So then the plant rewinds time for you, losing itself forever in the process, and you decide on a new goal. Destroy the shinigami and get your plant back. You go on a murderhobo spree and eventually get the attention of a squad of shinigami who hunt for you. You manage to get an army of hollows to follow you from Hueco Mundo and waged a war against them.

Then you became a Menos Grande and were really tall and got a laser so that was all kinds of cool. Oh, and at some point while a hollow you infected a spiritually strong kid with your hollow energy or soul or what ever we are calling it. I call it go juice, but that sounds sort of dirty.

Anyway, after you be tall for a while you meet a guy we are 95% certain is Lucifer Morningstar, He says in order to kill all shinigami forever, to remove them from reality, we have to kill order itself in the form of the Soul King, more on him later.

The first part of the plan is to take over Hueco Mundo so we go on the grind. We eat and eat and eat then meet a wolf named Jager and a spider named Charlotte.
(1/?)
>>
Chafrlotte has a rebel army going on and we sort of are into that so we take over because it seemed cool. We om nom some more. Then we sneak into the king off Hueco Mundo's palace. Not the Soul king, the hollow king, totally different duded. Both dick butts though. While there we meet the General of Misery, Quesufre Sin-Fin. She is sort of cool but we got her tortured because we were stupid in front of the king and he didn't think it was funny. Also she is an arrancar, so that's a thing.

We then go back and om nom some more king's patrols then a general ambushes us. We manage to kill him but lose charlotte. After fighting with Jager, with a thingy over the a, over the meal we eat it and become a vasto and discover we are female. Also possibly British but we don't know for sure. Would explain our references to doctor who and Thatcher though. Still doesn't explain why we are in japan.

Anywho, we then rip off our mask, effectively triple suiciding and become an arrancar too since that was the end of our evolution. There was some discussion and QM gave 4x the xp originally planned so we level our abilities.

That takes a few weeks, so we then talk to the devil some more and he explains the Soul King is actually a Great Old One type thing, and is eating the purified souls because that's what they do. Angels can't get into japan to stop him because great old ones are like God level and it would crack the planet in half so they can only work to contain it.

We go back to the cave and power level Jager, discover they can't become a Vasto Lorde(We think) and have them rip their masks off. She is also a chick, so that's cool we guess. Then we test out our powers, discover our Pandora Cero is hax and then attack the hollow king's palace of Los Noches.

We team up with the general of terror and attack the Hollow King, discovering he was an arrancar as well, and had his own version of fatebreaker, which we are slightly concerned about.
(2/?)
>>
We kill both the king and the general but nearly wipe out our reserves of go juice doing so when then explain to Jager we seek to kill order because why not? Then we sing and dance with her, then give her the throne.

After a while in which the palace is rebuilt we talk to lucifer again who tells us to train the boy we infected with our crazy sauce. S man is down with this and gets a fake body for interacting with humans and then goes to the real world.

We scope out a high school and find several spiritually aware people there, and manage to discover the boys name and all that. We decide to be a physics and art teacher, then make the current teachers come down with a sudden case of sick.

The reason for this is one of the soul king's "rules" is a living soul can not enter soul society, it is against his balance. Well, we know damn right what we are going to do then, aye? We are currently standing in front of a physics class about to try and teach seriously unless I get bored. I being the meta aware voice in the S man's head. Also we plan on making a drama club but that probably isn't going to work out too well. Make a cultural club of some sort which we can use to train the spiritually aware kids. Also some talk about living and fixing up an old shrine. Could be sweet digs

Also we can command lesser hollows, so that might be useful while outside Hueco Mundo.

Questions other voices in the bosses head? Ask away.

(3/3)
>>
Will it ever be possible to get more xp, or are we locked down now?
>>
Honest question: are you intentionally cribbing designs from the series? Sin-fin sounds a lot like Ulquiorra (but female), and Jaeger's look and sword is Kensei Muguruma (but female), while her powers and Hollow form (and name) are very Grimmjow Jagerjacques.
If you're going to the trouble of saying "this is an AU, none of the characters you're familiar with", then at least use designs not from the main series.
That being said, I love this quest to death, especially the Gillians' only feature and focus as being very tall.

We have all the breast sizes.

You will get more xp, just slower. You are already an engine of pure destruction. This stage is more focused on improving stats. It will happen.
>>25454599
Sin-Fin was because people really wanted an Ulq character so I added her in. Jager was based slightly off haruko and an ork going "More dakka MORE DAKKA!" So Sin-fin intentional, Jager not. I will try and distance them both more.

I don't recall Grimmjow being "more dakka and angry all the time" though.

King a fair amount, but a lot of it I couldn't use after seeing the direction the threads were going so it was dropped.

Terror a bit but he was in the way, so whoop!

You have something against the Sex Pistols anon?

Yes, going after prominent human beings is probably a bad idea. The contexts are a bit different.

So was the General of Terror the "King of Rot" that Charlotte was talking about?

Because decay didn't really seem to be a motif of Caesar guy.

>>25454923
>You have something against the Sex Pistols anon?

Not really. I just thought that due to the nature of MC, the graphics on the shirt wouldn't be constant.

I'm not happy with the slutty look though. Should have gone with tasteful dress or something. Who decided on the clothes anyway?
>>

I'd guess our choices during the character creation questions.
>>
>>25454960
No, that would have come in with the things I threw out. For now just assume it was a useful rhyme to use at the time.
>>25454979
I plan on using most of the things I had planned elsewhere. A few things I can include. The silvering dagger things? Not part of his body or power. Neither was his armor made by Hollows.

His back story was he was very old and was good at using his shinigami master to get what he wanted. He had ruled for the express purpose of removing a tyrant and ended up a tyrant himself.

Anything in particular you wanted to know about?
>>25455023
Best not to think too much on it. We can just say the clothes came from the same place as the shortbread to make things easier. That's what the MC is going to think because otherwise the conversations with Lucifer will get sort of weird.
>>25455030
You could curb stomp the LT and the squad who was after you before even without awakening. Also, none of them would remember you as time slipped you back into place. They don't even know who you are, let alone the fact you fought before. Only you remember.

>>25455041
She is wearing pants and her shirt is still together. It is classic british punk, I would hardly call it slutty.

Oh yeah, I remember that Azure said that he might post his notes on a summary thread on what each option changed on the character.
>>
>>25455088
Did we manage to completely obliterate those daggers and his armor with our Pandora Cero?
>>
>>25455062
Yes.

Although I'm pretty conservative about clothing. Women wearing pants = slutty as they accentuate the body. I imagine they are tight fit and not some loose cargo pants, right?

No, they are not tight fit. They are comfortable, so they aren't loose. They are Jeans, well fitting though they have some good wear in them.

Well, 70s punk fashion could get sort of bad. Torn fishnets and the like. And safety pins. Damn them and their safety pins.

But you dress like you are prepared to go, I dunno, riding a motorcycle or something. You want them to be a little loose, but not too loose. Just comfortable.

No, it branches off to pure teleport path, which gives you long distances a bunch of times, or intangibility which keeps short teleports but you can also just sort of be intangible for a bit because you can.

>>25455421
I meant something that synergized with it.
>>

No point in eating, our hunger is sated forever.

Besides, gravity could come in handy for teaching physics.

Also when in Las Noches, we really need to walk on the walls/ceilings.

"A cat so high on the ceiling did spy a queen (king?) making deals and lies to align with the shinigami and hasten their doom. The end is nigh."

As we do somersaults on the ceiling and tapdance on the walls.
>>
>>25455315
I'll start with a simplified version of stats then. I started with a baseline human, giving them say a dot here or there to represent a human soul.

Then, for example, for amusement I assigned to the go juice section, as your need for a full life and fun caused tit to grow. Which is why it was so absurdly high at the start there. Pulling your own plug also added to that while having another hollow attack you would have added to durability.

Speed was added on because of the urge to include freedom as a theme from some anons(And otherwise the sheet would have been pure go juice) and the point of cunning I think came from the suicide option, it's lost right now though.'

The willingness of your transformation effected how much humanity you had left, but it was pretty much gone so you took on a monstrous form, but you still had pleasures from life so you were animalistic. The id as it were.

Some of the other powers you could have gotten were dragon's breath(Rage) or mind control (Control) Minions (Lonely or sorrow path). Pretty much I tried to base everything I could on the player's choice at the beginning.

>>25455330
Plot, sorry.
>>25455340
The comfortable dress or the intangible?
>>25455373
Mirror I was going to have become the absorption or sort of a reflect+your own power added on. Lighting could go either offense or defense focused.
>>25455328
Wasn't a goal, but I knew it was a realistic thing going in. /tg/ wants what /tg/ wants. Ask them a thousand times and though the name changes the love never does.

>>
>>25455508
May not be too original, but could be handy at some point.
>>
>>25455524
Of course it would be handy. We could trick someone into thinking that we're not willing to use our singularity when we're close by to it, and when they focus on close combat we could just go "lol my own powers don't affect me getrealbrah-san."

Can we fake turning into multiple people by shapeshifting into multiple bodies connected by flesh strings?

We should totally turn into orphan boy's parent's that we ate and then smile and tilt our heads at him in a loving manner before vanishing. And then do it a couple more times, vanishing behind passing cars or around corners.

Broken as in everysinglepower or broken as in emo?

>>
>>25455651
>>25455668
>>25455682
Ooh, you guys gave me a mean idea. He might have pictures/memorabilia of his original parents, if he does we can illusion them to occasional intervals and use them as a motivation for getting revenge or overcoming any regrets he might have at not knowing his real parents and manipulate him into the SS disruptor we need him to be.
>>
>>25455683

Broken as in a lot of power. Especially if his growth spiked with ours.

And if it's the same, he's also now part shinigami. Because that's a defining factor of what an arrancar is. All he needs now is quincy ancestry and he's Ichigo.
>>
>>25455598
Possible, Lucifer needs someone to do his work for him in the world. Try standing at a crossroads.
>>25455615
It would be sort of exhausting, and your shapeshifting is still limited. Plus illusions would give you more bang for your buck.
>>25455694

There are plenty of easier ways to get him to disrupt SS. It is again a slow process but all good things are.

>>25455694

We haven't seen a hollow side come out at all from any fullbringers.

The answer for the rap-battle would be that we get him all 1v1 and then break his bankai if he has one. Once we sufficiently defeat him, we give him this one last chance to save himself and his squad from us...

By that note, we rap battle.

If he wins, we leave. and our allies destory him and his squad.
If he loses, we kill him. Harshly.

I can only hope we can swing into such a situation.

>>25455892

I still think that we should recruit all the students with lots of go juice into our Drama Club, and use it to train them up for the 'SS Distraction Force'...

And your solution to this is be a physics teacher who is super obsessed with physics? I could think of, like, three ways to do that which don't involve having to go through tedious teaching posts or dealing with annoying kids.

Many more if you include being a teacher and still being a touch psychotic. Just pretty sure this is the most boring method is all.

>>25455950
Again, why drama club? As the voice in the head said that is like... the least conducive club to teaching about magic spirit powers and getting them on our side.

They are kids adrift and lost and scared and we are a guiding sort of adult figure. Just seems so many better, more effective, more amusing ways to go about this.

Your players won't think of them.
It's a hard thing to accept, but as a GM, 3/4ths of all opportunities will inevitably be left in the dust.
What's left must be used to encourage the players creativity and engage them in the game. Although that isn't easy when your players are all the same actor in a thread based interactive game.

I dont understand that conclusion by th QR. It lets us provide weird circumstances to them as parts of plays. Plus we can be very serious in showing method acting sculpted to use and hone there powers and lets us hint at magic physics when we talk set designs.
>>
>>25456483
Or we, could, y'know, have hollows attack their friends and have them get wrecked enough that they want to get much stronger.
>>
>>25456524
cant we do that as well drama club dose not exclude that. we could even have one happen at the club when we have them practicing our special acting.
>>

>>
>>25456571
Why would we need to provide the situations as part of plays? It will make us seem suspicious at the least if the quincies type people are already aware of monsters and the "special exercises".

Just saying that from where I'm standing drama club seems a massive, pointless strain which will attract attention for all the wrong reasons. Maybe you can provide an amazing in universe reason for doing it, I honestly don't know, and if that's where anon wants to run with it then we can.

There just seem to be so many better ways of going about it, even if you want to keep the club angle.
>>
Why not make some afterschool ghosthunters club?

Or we could assemble them as a group of teenagers with attitude.
*tosses random masks at them, goes to grab our crazy squid as their mortal enemy and fake BBEG*
But in all seriousness, I think the reason we were looking to start a club was to get them all together and make friends/frenemies with one another. From there, it would've been easier to start warping their world view to our ends by either facing them as random monsters (controlled encounters basically, monster of the week style if we want to go surreal) or by forming up/controlling gillians with our natural power. Maybe artificially make things stronger by grabbing shinigami from other parts of the country and force feeding them to low level hollow.
>>
>>25456642
Well now I'm a bit iffy about the thread you'll be running because you're basically telling us you don't know how to make it entertaining with these particular methods and that you might not actually have fun writing it.
If it is so severely the case you may want to suggest other options that you like/find sensible as greentext when you ask for player actions, that let's us pick and choose and debate our preferences without setting anything into motion and without you being called a train mechanic.
>>
>>25456679
>>25456710

That sounds amazing.

We need to do this.

I kind of don't understand why drawing attention from quincies is a bad thing. Far as they know we're a fullbringer, mudblood quincy, or a spiritually sensitive human.

Hell, even if they knew that we were an arrancar, we're WAY to powerful to fuck with.

>>
>>25456797

There's truth to every joke. We need to do it. it fits so well with Risa being insane!
>>
>>25456681
Again, a massively impossibly round about way to do it which would be highly ineffective. I imagine they would be fine with you showing them about monsters if you, I dunno, saved them from a monster? They ran into you while they were doing their plot things and see you can hold your own? Hell, show up after a massive brawl and heal them?

Drama club seems like a really bad idea. Not just in character wise, but meta-wise writing it would drag on with no real pacing. It would feel unnatural, and the players wouldn't have much fun I think unless they can pull off something.

Really, Schroedinger musing about how it was probably a trap, coupled with both us already going on a trap expedition and then Lucifer later talking about the Angels hanging out who lack power limiters like the Shinigami do...Kind of made us think that trying to leave Japan before we can at least give Lucifer some trouble against us would be a pretty bad idea.

Also, AzureEarth, the very fact that your quest causes shitstorms instead of people just leaving means that people WANT to keep following it.

Look Haruko is... really not ideal, but if all that happened is both of us lost our cool, that's manageable. Like it seems as if there's a fundamental disconnect in that we're not getting it across how much she matters to us. I mean I love MANIA, and prefer her as a romantic option but as far as I'm concerned, Haruko is the female lead.

The whole missing out on the informants is troublesome, especially since I think it was the result of an incorrect tallying, but considering that we may have taught Azure Kite how to hate, and we were in a hurry with the Moon Tree biz, our paranoia and haste is understandable.

>It was mentioned in a quest general that I need more original characters and designs to make things fun and when I trot them out I felt they were not wanted.
You know, that reminds me...Whatever happened to that Quincy-like girl? You know, the one who's face we wrote on? I don't think we ate her, but I'm not sure...

>"Okay, guys, I get trolling and being weird is fun, I have fun too, but this is a chance to get a human world ally for your war against order. Don't act like a weirdo and seriously piss her off."
Honestly, I think what people wanted was to give off the impression of basically being More Than A Little Bit Threatening Supernatural Miss Frizzle. And really, you should have given us a few options for making up with that chick.

Something like leaving our Gigai, putting up our cloak at max power, going full Hollow mode then showing up to say hi while holding our lifeless Gigai in one hand. Scare the shit out of her for a little bit then revert back to Arcannar form.

Something like that would have been interesting to see, though I'm unfortunately sure it would have been impossible. Still, its not like forcing Schroedinger into a situation where she actually has to -apologize- for being isn't interesting.

Honestly thats my biggest issue with it. I seriously cannot understand why you passed up that opportunity. As a GM myself if one of my players entered that situation I would have jumped all over it.

>I am still scared to start AIDA back up after the last thread.
Last thread... Haruka was on a short fuse.

You know, IC we should have known her fuses were primed, and what not to say when her fuses were primed, seeing as that we were with her for quite a few years.

Which means that our writein could have been QM'ed NOPED by you via warning us, seeing as that Chen should know these things IC. I don't think that counts as handholding...

Also, I don't think many people OOC know about the details of her abuse and whatnot. Hell, we don't even know much about our family.

It's not 100% losing steam and more 'my schedule is more fucked than a double cunted hooker when the sailors come in'.

I'm trying to get my shit together to run, but I'm not expecting more than 2-3 threads before the end of he month tops. I'd be running daily if my schedule allowed.

>>25464092

Like the others have pointed out, you only have like one issue when it comes to running these things. Which is impressive, considering you apparently haven't been doing it for long.

Most of the reason why the shitstorms get so bad are because you consistently set the bar high enough that when you do stumble the quality drop is really noticeable.

I wasn't joking when I said you were arguably the best running at the moment, it's more circumstance and your occasional inability to read the mood that burns you.

My advice is when the players seem to be making a weird/bad choice don't just go 'are you sure' point out 'it sounds like you want (this)'. It's not really hand-holding to ask for clarification.
>>
>>25464092
different guy who tends to hit this late at night for hollow quest and AE you seem to have 2 main problems as a QM that honestly i think would help you:
problem number one is that your oftentimes writing things in a way where its basically picking the best choices in a situation and not really letting people folow up on what your doing:
what i mean is a very good example is last thread with the obvious don kanonji bullshittery, where essentally it broke down to people fucked up by what sounded like trolls, you wrote yourself into a corner and punted what sounds like a major part of your story out the window, thats exactly how it read like.

second part is you need more of a backbone here, this is your story, but people are interacting with it, and can manipulate it, there are times to give for people what they want and there are times where you need to put your foot down as well, for the sake of the story. that's something you only get with experience.
an example from my personal experiance is your DMing a D&D game where someones supposed to be a paladin in 3.5 rules and they rape a child, its not railroading to have them fall.
>>
Something not directly related to the recent events for you here AE.

Could you tell me a little about your process? I'm going to be starting some quests on /tg/ in the near future, and I want to prepare myself for them as well as I can. I'm going to start writing up a big book of possibilities here soon, which is how I've done most of them, but I would like your input.

To what extent have you 'planned' your game? Are we where you expected us to be 5 threads ago? Have we taken this in a direction you didn't see coming, and have been forced to adapt and roll with the punches?

Do you have any tips on character generation?

What (if any) advice can you give me about QMing that you don't think other people would be able to offer me. (Or hell, give me that too, I'm pretty green behind the gills.)

In the mean time, I'll plan. I've got a few ideas for possible quests, but I'm unsure what route I'm going to take.

That... that's meant to be a way to make up with her?

>>25464092
>when I trot them out I felt they were not wanted
I'll agree with you that we could've spent more time talking to the Twincies (which is an awesome pun) and the kid who pulled the plug on the tesla-coil (I forget his name). I think the fault lies mostly with Risa's personality, which is really cool (you write the inner insanity monologues wonderfully well) but she's not very big on meaningful interactions with others. I think her fucking around with dangerous shit in physics was pretty In Character for her since it's a new thrill for her and she can share it with others. It doesn't leave much room for interacting with students, though.

It may be a good idea to handle Art Class with two choices: "What kind of art will the students do?" and "Which student(s) will you tutor whilst they're working?"
This gives us chances to get to know the kiddies better, which we'll need to do if we're making our student army of ghost-fighters or whatever.
>>
>>25464291
Yes.

It clearly shows that we are an abomination of the highest order, that did what was like breathing to us when faced off against an abomination of the lowest order.
>>
>>25464210
Yeah, you should really treat all Quest PCs as having the Common Sense merit. ie if we're doing something we KNOW to be a stupid idea IC, have a post that goes 'You open your mouth to speak when you remember that So and so had Such and such happen to them'.

Don't expect posters to remember everything the character does. If there's something you KNOW the character remembers but the players seem to have forgotten there's no shame in reminding them of it. Your regular players might not actually be there at that point in time - one of the main problems with using an anonymous messageboard to run things like this.

That said, you should really do the same for things like this situation. At the very least clarify what people want - I at least wanted to send the hollow on its way with simple flamboyance.

>>25464291
>That... that's meant to be a way to make up with her?
She said that she didn't want us making fun of her like that. Showing her just how serious we can be might actually appeal to her and get her respect, especially since AzureEarth listed how the other options would have gone.

And we could always follow it up with an offer to teach her some tricks.

As I said though it is probably either impossible (because we can't mask our Hollow aura at full power) or, adding on to that, a dumb idea period.
>>
>>25464206
If we had our cloak up, could she even sense our hollow form?
>>
>>25464356
I have no idea, but she could probably see us.

And, in our apology, we should point out that we didn't expect her to react so badly, since HALF HER CLASS can see ghosts too.
>>
>>25464092

Well, I think that the main point of why this was kind of a thing was that there was little chance of repairing things with the new NPC.

It's fine if you want to show that acting like a weirdo insane Hollow when attempting to parley normal people will turn them off, at the very least. But the way that you showed this was a bit harsh.

I think this can be easily repaired by having her NOT be gone forever, but merely just skipping class even harder than usual. Perhaps have some students mention that they saw her in a prefecture far away from the school or something and that she's pretty hopping mad. More than usual. There were already a lot of people saying "give her some space, we'll try again later when we're not being quite so asinine and when she's considerably less angry." It would be expected that there'd be a long process of getting her to not hate us; in doing so, we gain a venue of character development AND learn that we can't act like Insane Hollow around non-Hollows.
>>
>>25464373
>HALF HER CLASS
Nope, that's only two, three classmates that can.
>>
>>25464373
Apparently AE just meant that they had above average go juice, but not enough to see dead people.
>>
>>25464339
And she would want to pursue future interaction with us why exactly? Snap, you've usually had better plans than this.
>>
>>25464383

>Character Development

Er, just to clarify, that the whole "not getting her to hate us" would present an opportunity for Risa (NOT THE PLAYERS!) to get to know who this NPC is. Her motivations, worries, backstory, everything that makes her a character.
>>
>>25464196
I'll try and think of something. Somewhere in cyberspace azure kite is drinking gin and polishing a shotgun while looking at a picture of chen. He sits in his rocking chair and waits.
>>25464206
She is -plot plot-. She is still alive. Doin plot stuff. I plan on making her matter.

Because I honestly though players did not want to deal with social interaction or character building or what ever despite being told that's what my quest needed to be better. So at that point I just said "Okay, back to random trolling then."

I have a cult surrounding me. Do your worst. Granted it isn't a cult to me, but still.
>>25464210

Thanks for your input. I am partially worried I will ignore someone I think is a troll because of a bad idea and then end up ignoring part of my player base. I want everyone to have fun

I tried to put my foot down more this time but it seems to have backfired. I think more experience might be what I need in that department.
>>25464265
I think of a cool/fun idea then I let it grow and grow. The worst part for me is making names so be sure to have a few ready at least.

As you can see I may not be the best case for this, but try to be consistent. I had no idea we would be a high school teacher 5 threads ago, though I did plan on the morningstar a while back.

Also, I guess, you should make sure you have fun interesting characters. Make a dynamic living world and then put them into it. If they hate the plot then they will have plenty of other fun things to do which you will have fun writing.

>>
>>25464412
Personally I think this whole arc is great for some character interaction and learning. I think that having to apologize and learn that we can't act like a crazy hollow all the time would be a great experience for Risa, and give her a little insight in becoming human again, which is the ultimate goal of a hollow after all.
>>
>>25464353
Seconding the want to send the hollow away with a little flamboyance. More like "You mean the miserable little frog thing behind me? GET LOST SCRUB!" Granted I could have clarified my personal intentions better, but the Don choice seemed to follow what I wanted to do in general.
>>
>>25464498
Apparently Sin-Fin still likes us. And honestly the fact that we know that girl's name means that we know she's important, and that you've gotta collect 'em all.
>>
>>25464498
>I am just worried we will bugger off and do random shit for the luls instead of even caring about that to be honest.
Well at the moment, you've gotten your followers pretty fixated on her. If you don't throw something vastly more interesting (ie Aizen) at us we're pretty much locked in on her for the next arc or so.

You've given us a challenge.
>>
>>25464435
An abomination of the highest order has taken a personal interest in you and seems to want to keep you close, but alive. You have the option of running to safety, to a place where even this monstrosity cannot follow on pang of death. Where you will be defended and trained into a warrior of the highest caliber, never to fear for you safety again, never to put others at risk just by being around them. Do you say no to the All-Father's offer?
>>
>>25464500
Yeah, I was expecting we act like something out of Kamen Rider or a magical girl show instead of what we got.

Hrumm.

Then after just one mistake, /tg/ starts snowballing down IDGF lane.

Woo. We need some better tenacity.
>>
>>25464573
Some of those votes were having the party be on standby, I think it was only a couple people who wanted to wait only thirty seconds.
>>
I don't think Delinquent Valkyrie needs to be away on plot business, necessarily. She could just as easily have run away from home for a week or so (as teenagers do sometimes) because she really hated everything at the time. When she's back Risa can make up some lie about being a hollow-hunter who is trying to find ways to fight them and how she only acted like a crazy person because she didn't know Delinquent Valkyrie could see them too. Then we can offer to train her so she can fight them, Risa already felt how strong she is.
>>

>>25464573
Yeah, it was pretty bad. I hate those split decisions because then it becomes hard to identify exactly what thought process led to the wrong outcome or which side the error was.
>>
>>25464498
I don't think people got the message with Sin Fin. She herself liked the shortbread well enough, so insanity kind of worked in that instance.

I think most people just thought "The king's an ass." and resolved to kill him.

This instance is the first time that "kill the problem" hasn't been viable, so Risa may finally begin to learn some tact.
>>
>>25464412

>What I normally read on here.

It's a huge problem with our generation that if we're not actively praised we seem to think we're failures.

Or, I'm GUESSING 'our' generation since you don't strike me as dramatically older/younger than me, but I digress.

Looking over the archives, not one of your threads are out of the purple, and that's with the anti-quest fags dragging you down.

Basically, people only speak up when they have a problem. They don't want to rock the boat if everything's fine, and don't really go out of the way to shower compliments on the whole.

Look at all the times people have complained about something you did, versus all the times where nobody said shit. You've got maybe a ten percent rate of complaint per events if we're giving it to every little niggling point they make.

So 90% of the time, everyone's totally happy with your performance. That's better than most do, on the whole.

Seriously, take a look over the average ratings for F/A and AC-Quest compared to yours. You're kicking ass, dude. More then you have any right to be at this point in your QMing career.

I know it's probably wrong, but whenever I'm hosting a quest and my players make some serious fucked up decision, I step in as anon and say 'Woah, this is a bad idea because _____ might happen, how about (vague idea that they can work off of)

Then, if they ridicule that post I fuck 'em twice as hard for being unable to see logic.

I know, probably not the best way to handle those situations, but I like running threads as much as I like playing in them, and I try to give my players outs now and again when they're fucking up too bad.
>>
>>25464498
Maybe you could also use this arc as an opportunity to let us tone down on the "random" a bit. As in more consistent but less harsh punishments for our behavior rather then letting /tg/ get away with 90% of its shit then bringing down the heat when we least expect it.
>>

This is a fantastic idea that any QM should do if things are going into serious derp territory.
>>
>>25464498

I honestly can't say that there aren't a few choices that the playerbase made that were a bit on the random side. But assuming that the players are always going to be intentionally disruptive is not a good attitude to take; then it becomes QM vs. Players.

If there's a choice that seems real weird to you or that makes no sense, ask for clarification.

I kinda made the snap decision to act like the Don because I thought it'd be like some sort of weird Zen Master showing off to a prospective student; if the student gets mad and goes off, that's also a part of the narrative. The Zen Master follows and shows the student that not all is as it seems, and perhaps that the angry student should quite frankly loosen up a bit. Even the most inane or degrading stuff can carry great purpose and wisdom. Wax-on, wax-off.

She was scared, panicked, and frankly offended because of irrational reasons! Then she runs off and does all sorts of irrational stuff because she's been kicked around all her life for reasons she cannot understand and because of powers she can't control AND because she probably doesn't have a lot of contact with people! That's perfect!

But that shouldn't seal her off as an option; nay, it should be a chance for the players to go "oh shit, we done goofed up real bad" and motivate them to see WHY she acted as she did.

Just like how Anon chased after MANIA not one time, but thrice; one with the Deevon confrontation, another with the argument with Haruko, and a third at the festival. We got to know her as a character better, and that was awesome!

Quality is highly debatable, though I'll take the compliment. Means more from a fellow QM in a way.

I just have a lot more experience in dealing with this shit. I've had like five handles I've used prior to being AC-Guy and only one of them is kinda only sorta hidden. One of them I pretty much ran failed quest after failed quest until I hated all quests and decided to start killing them off via trolling. I mean, hanged my mind before I did any real damage, but.....

You genuinely have a lot of raw talent for running, wheras I acquire all skills I have by beating my head into the wall until something sticks. It just kinda kills to see you trying to burn out over shit like this honestly.

In any case, I'm out. Think I've taken up enough space in your thread for tonight.
>>
>>25464924
Did you steal that cheese from the bears because you can't get their blow anymore?
>>
>>25464893
I think we should let it rest for the night, honestly. Give people
Some more time to cool down and start fresh another day.

Also I'm going to sleep now and I'd miss the thread.
>>
>>25464930
*self
>>
>>25464934

I kinda agree with the sentiment, even though the whole MANIA obsession is starting to get on my nerves.

Like, we shouldn't be always picking her over our PARTNER, who we are supposed to be working with closely since there's nobody else in RL we can trust like that and she genuinely wants us to get our relationship back to a better place.
>>
>>25464976
Well the problem is that because Haruko refuses to get an AIDA, that means that she's pretty much a liability when shit gets A-in-C-Major.

And at times it doesn't really seem like Haruko wants to make things work.
>>
>>25464995
Hopefully she's compatible with Macha or Magus.
>>
>>25464976
Seems sentiment is to call it for the night. Which may be a good idea as even with a nonstop thread it should slow down a bit here soon.

So no more quest running for tonight.
>>25464976

>>
>>25464939
Thanks for dropping by man. Always nice to get your view on things. Yeah, this is my first handle. Hollow is the second quest I have ever run so maybe it's an experience thing.
>>
Question! How close was Jager to killing Schrodinger after we killed the King?
>>
>>25464948
Bears don't eat cheese. Cheese only feeds those with souls.
>>
>>25464976
I don't think we've ever taken a time when both Haruko and MANIA were in distress and picked MANIA.

I mean us leaving with MANIA seems to have been an okay call, since it made Haruko get out of her shell and actually interact with the rest of Eclipse, which she seemed good at.
>>
>>25465019
Scale of 1 to 10, ten being death by spikes? 7 or 8.
>>
>>25464976

Well, to me, it was more like helping out a person who has a lot of messed up shit going on. And it turned out she did, and things may be OK with some more help from a person with a similar experience.

With Haruko... it's a bit less apparent. Probably because she's the only readily apparent mundane person in the entire cast. Which sometimes masks the issues that she may have, especially when Anon keeps forgetting that she got out of an abusive relationship with someone who she could have broken in half like so many Batmen on Bane's knees.

>>25464995

This also. It's rational not to want to get exposed to an AI, but at the same time... it seems like she's being less than helpful than a partner should be. I'd be more than happy if she decided to take charge of some of the operations, hang out at the guild hall and act as mission control/overwatch with the mirrors and stuff. Since she also does a lot of investigating in the Real World, she could also provide a lot of leads (read: plot hooks) for Anon to follow. Since she might be a risk at the front lines, she lends her unique talents to helping the brains of the operation, since Anon is quite frankly really bad with plans.

And in her off time, she can actually play the game with Anon and socialize with the guild.
>>
>>25464763
>>25464804
It was meant as a compliment.
>>
>>25465035
We really need to let her know that we consider her to be our only friend.

It's too bad she appears to be experiencing buyer's remorse on the throne, since for all intents and purposes she is king until the time comes to kill the fuck out of the shinigami.
>>
>>25465035
Yeah, doing a straight betrayal in front of her after seeing how pissed she was at a perceived one was staggeringly dumb.
>>
>>25465055
That's good! Thanks then!.
>>25465057
The fact she didn't kill you was only because she was an arrancar. Hueco Mundo is very dog eat dog and by the logic of that you were a clear threat to her. Luckily she remembered bits of her humanity
>>
>>25465051
I think maybe the problem is that we only really talked about that abusive relationship part in the aftermath of one of the threads, I can't even remember which, and maybe not everyone sticks around for those?

But yeah, we've gotta stop forgetting the abusive relationship part. I mean she was actually suicidal several years ago, and that leaves scars.
>>
>>25465055
To explain more, I don't really post all that often, but when do am at least somewhat invested toth quest or choice at hand .
>>
>>25465057
Why would she lose the throne then? The King should remain at the palace, leading sanely from the rear and handling the defensive aspect of the war.

We'll lead from the front and lead the offensive forces, acting as a General, of sorts.
>>
>>25465095
Too bad it really seems like Risa Schrodinger always had kind of a deficit of humanity, even when she was human.

I mean she's a real interesting character, but there are struggles.
>>
>>25465095
By the way the memory of being a artist earlier is going to be important later right.
>>
>>25465135
True, she does seem suited for defensive fighting.

But I really must insist that our army needs work.

Right now the only ones who don't suck are Jager, Sin-Fin, and possibly the fourth general we apparently forgot about (unless there were only three).
>>
>>25465141
>>25465179
I have already started writing up her life and abilities from it yes. I had planned on it being a while before any of it is implemented though.

Sin-Fin is on it but you sort of did eat a lot of the up and comers. It will take a little while.
>>
>>25465189
Well, if Delinquentchick really is related to the Norse Gods, we could possibly get support from them against Soul Society if what the Soul King is doing is really as bad as Lucifer says.

We'd just have to play things carefully until we learn what side of the fence they sit on in regards to eating souls.
>>

If we can get the not!Hogyoku from SS via stealth, we can force Arrancar transformations as needed (I'm fairly certain that AE mentioned it being viable for Arrancar creation).

Maybe we could see about recruiting some existing Vastos? There's got to be a few others out there.

Alternatively...what would happen if you partially ate a dead Quincy? Would you get a Vasto-potential Hollow?

Also, my captcha is screaming about AMERICAN RORBASE so I have to ask what the U.S. Soul reapers would be.

If they were, it seems as if they'd be like human souls with semi-angelic powers, which could be neat.

I guess gods are Soul Kingish entities, and thus obtain power from the will and/or souls of their followers?

Valhallan occupants are the actual souls in the Norse afterlife, so they're probably equivalent in strength to seated Shinigami (considering they're all fighters in life)?

Just wanna let you know I love your quest, .hack//AIDA less so than hollow, but you're a good writer man. Got some issues I have aswell when you GM, you know what a NPC is gonna do and you stick by it, I get in trouble a bit for that sometimes aswell "But GM, we didn't know that would offend him!" Sometimes in real life you say shit that accidentally pisses people off.

Deal with it.

We have already went through this and the cause of the shitstorm wasn't that the teenager was angry.
>>
I'm kinda late to this, I had to leave for work about 20 minutes after the quest started and got back around now.

I'd just like to say that to close off the new OC storyline (if thats really what you intend to do) because of ONE DECISION when people such as myself, who did not have a chance to vote due to RL constraints, is unfair both to the aforementioned group and the large part of your playerbase that thought the whole Don Kanonji thing was complete idiocy.

Please keep in mind that just because a decision won, doesn't mean most of your players supported it, especially when there are multiple options. I feel like I got kinda hosed because the whole of the quest is affected by the irrational dropping of a whole character.

Read through hollow quest after I woke up and, I gotta say, there's no way in hell anybody is going to do anything remotely interesting for the rest of the quest.

The whole offending her so badly that she's gone forever is a load of bollocks. There's a higher chance that one of the kids in our classes would have reacted that way to the bomb or the tesla coil.

The rest of this quest will just be arguing about each character and spending whole threads trying to learn about all their inane ticks so that we don't step on some ridiculous landmine. And it sounds like that's what you want. We didn't spend enough time trying to learn about this chick, so bye bye.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if you had another character leave forever because we gave him something with peanuts in it and he's allergic to peanuts and then tell us that we should have spend the previous thread learning all about him before doing any interaction.
>>
>>25468338
Yeah we uh

Kinda got over that already. Azure's agreed to back off on it. I think.
>>
>>25468419
Maybe I missed it then, because from what I read, it doesn't sound resolved at all. Why would this kind of thing happen at all? Why would Azure even run Hollow Quest if this is how he reacts to us voting to act like the Don?

You guys may have stopped discussing it, but this kinda of thing will just keep being a problem.
>>
And the whole "handholding" thing.

He spent a chunk of this thread saying drama club would be bad.

Then he says Ghost hunter club would be better.

So we act like Don ghosthunter.

And then this shit happens and he says that not letting it happen is handholding.

I just don't even.
>>
>>25468481
>Why would this kind of thing happen at all? Why would Azure even run Hollow Quest if this is how he reacts to us voting to act like the Don?
Christ knows. He's done it a couple of times in his other quest too - us choosing to look for one of our party members ended up taking TWO HOURS and CAUSING A MAJOR CHARACTER TO TURN INTO AN ANTAGONIST.

It was completely retarded and made no sense, and later on Azure was extremely sorry about the whole thing. Thats basically what's happened here, only we found out that an innocent mistake had stupidly harsh consequences early rather than three threads later.

He just...blows up like that sometimes, I guess. We just have to call him out on anything thats clearly bullshit when it happens. And honestly its pretty bloody clear when he overreacts to things.
>>
I have one more thing to say before I leave.

To everyone saying things about first impressions mattering and asking how many real second chances you've ever gotten - this is a quest based on an anime. Bleach at that. And the main character is batshit insane. This is so many degrees removed from reality that it's pointless to try to make that argument. How many schools would just hire us the way we managed? How many teachers would still have a job after that shit we just pulled on our first day?
