http://archive.foolz.us/tg/thread/23072794/

Previously on Blatant Fetish Quest, our protagonist, Max Power, learned that 'he' was actually a female with male genitalia, as a result of having an incubus as a father. Three years later, Max, now fit and a martial artist, flew to Romania to enroll at the prestigious Scholomance, a school for magic meeting Liz, your new girlfriend, on the way. On arriving in Romania, you learned that the Scholomance is extremely deadly and that only half of each class proceeds to the next grade each year.

You joined the Lotus prestige society, befriended Dane and Lin, other Lotuses. Upon arriving at the Scholomance, a city-sized school hidden in a cave that's bigger on the inside, you discovered a tower and found an incubus who's probably your father chained up in the basement.

You're currently trying to balance Dextra Domini, rivals, commitments to your society, relationships, and studying while trying to survive. You're about a month and a half in. Your custom-built beast won the quiz and Liz made it into the Society of the Archmagi. Your dryad just hatched and your mommy-instincts kicked into high gear.

Your dad just offered to sing and recite poems in The Word as he works on the basement wards.

What do you do now?
>>
Sit back and listen to the Word, help with the wards if we can.

Agreed. This sounds like an excellent opportunity to learn More Alchemy
>>
"Of course," you say. You've been wanting to hear more of the Word since you heard him singing yesterday. You decide to help him with the wards as he starts a long, lyrical chant. It's phrased in question-answer lines - you get the feeling that it's normally a duet piece. Hearing it makes your insides twist up, like how you felt before your very first date. Your heart beats fast, and you can't help but hang on every word. Selene sits quietly, apparently listening intently.

Roll Alchemy to assist your father with extending the ward lines. I'll consider the first two linked 1d100 rolls.

You help your dad out quite well, and he tells you as such as you work. It makes you feel all warm inside to get praised by your dad. You find yourself really enjoying this, working with him on a project as he chants that poem out. Selene toddles off eventually to go explore the ramp and the rooms around it.

"What are you chanting?" you ask him.

"The Paradox of the Self," he says, smiling at you. "It's phrased with questions and answers because of the subject matter. It can't be performed correctly without two people, but in doing so it invalidates individual performance. The mad philosopher-priests would sing one part in a falsetto and the other in tenor or baritone to try to circumvent this. The comments I head on that talked about how they had to split themselves into two parts just to maintain the self - they thought it was still a good expression of the topic."

That all kind of goes over your head a little, but you nod along anyway.

"Was that the whole thing?" you ask.

"No, just the first part. There are twelve more," he answers. "It was an epic."

What do you do now?

>>
>>23484662

>>

Oh right, assuming we have a smartphone download some tracks of chanting useful for meditation.
>>
>>23484662
Ask dad if there's anything he thinks we need to be doing magic wise, go over what focuses we have already, and see if he has any suggestions.
>>
You go look for Selene. At first, you can't find her, and you start to panic a little. You eventually spot her, however, curled up in a corner in one of the rooms and napping contently. You see something surprising, though. The buds on her head have finally bloomed, covering her scalp in blossoms with long, thin petals that are white with just a blush of scarlet as they get close to the center of each bloom. It makes her look almost like she has white hair with red roots, each petal about half the width and twice the length of her little index finger.

You snap a few pictures of her with your phone and send them to your mom before picking her up. You walk back to your dad. "Look, she bloomed!" you tell him in an excited whisper.

"Oh, that's just adorable," he says with a smile. He leans in and gives her head a smell. "They smell like lilac."

"Is there anything I should be focusing on with my magic right now?" you ask your father.

"At the moment, the main thing you need to worry about is staying near the top of your class and any enemies you already have, like Dextra Domini and Nemesis. You shouldn't worry too much about actual rivals until you're in your second or third year at least as long as you stay near the top. The fighting doesn't get bitter at the top until then, for the most part. So, make foci, study, and keep out of the antagonistic societies' crosshairs."

"Okay. Thanks, dad," you say. You take Selene on up and put her to bed.

>>
>>23485124
Ask him about student lists.
This dextra wannabe we met on the first day here told us his future society had access to student records with names and ancestries.
Can we expect that they already know that who we are ? They don't seem particularily hostile for now. Is it possible that Petrov removed our ancestry from the records ? Or do they just keep their feelings about identified demons under cover until they're ready to strike ?
Is it useful to start masking our aura now ?
How can we avoid attention from those two societies ?
>>
>>23485172
Ah I forgot we knew it. Alright, then it migt be worth looking into his past, though it feels like we should just ask him about it.
>>

Seconding the conjuration practice.

I also a thought about mind wards, would it be possible to set up a secondary ward behind our first one which, rather than keeping people out, acted as a trap, looking like a weak point and sealing anyone who tried to get into our mind inside it, cutting them off from their body. I'm not sure if this would work, because I'm not sure how much of a person's actual 'mind' they have to put into enchantment. Something to ask Dimitry about at least.

You head back down to the basement to see your dad. "Hey, I was wondering if you could help me get some practice in," you request.

"Sure thing, Max. What do you need?" he asks you.

"I was hoping you could help me get in some Conjuration practice," you say.

"Ah. Getting to work on making Selene some kind of familiar to complement that spell you've been designing?" he asks.

OP, question, Is flight a possible self enchantment?
>>
>>23485337
"Exactly. I'm thinking a cute bat creature that looks like a stuffed animal, with one big eye that can fly around and easily cling to surfaces. I figure we could use them both for Selene's sight and for surveillance outside the tower."
>>
>>23485402
High-level lotuses can levitate, but we don't know exactly how.
>>
>>23485186
We were the result of a summer fling between our parents so it's quite possible mom never entered dads name on any of the records. We should ask if mom is in any danger now that dextra is aware of our existence. (And maybe ask whether there's any truth to the demonic aura detection thing? I'm guessing they can detect spirits and people with spirit hybrid souls)
>>
>>23485385
Well, corrosion apparently did, considering Gaviscon.

>>23485402
You know that Sorcery can be used to fly. Whether or not you can self-enchant with it is unknown.
>>
>>23485441
They told mom we were half-incubus when we were 13, so they must have known at the time.
It might be why we've been selected.

Ask dad how the school selects students.
>>
>>23485502
Good point, I wonder if our doctor was in on our recruitment
>>
>>23485441
Mom knew what he was and said so when they came to offer us the chance to come here.

>"Right. Well, your son registered as female on our scrying spells. People with incubus blood will always have male primary sexual characteristics, but..."

>"What are you saying?"

>"Your son is an incubus-blooded female - or at least we have reason to think he is. As he... develops, you might start noticing female sexual characteristics - a female body with male genitalia, that is."

Thread one, post one.

So the school's records know exactly what we are, though not necessarily who our father is.
>>
>>23485502
>>23485545
It was probably set up by Petrov.
>>
>>23485460
Ok, just trying to figure out if we can get this thing to act as a reading lamp as well as a prosthetic eye for her. And maybe be able to blind (one way or the other) any sight reliant enemies she might face.
>>
>>23485568
We are relatively talented at magic. Not all of Dad's children were, if I remember correctly.

Ask Dad which is more likely - that Petrov made us come here to serve his goals (including releasing Dimitry), or that we were selected for our abilities alone ?
>>
>>23485654
I wouldn't say "relatively," Liz is only passing our skill now because of her SotA classes.

We're probably down at 8th because we hadn't really put anywhere near the effort in honing our mind as we did our body before coming here.
>>
"How does the school select candidates?" you ask.

"Scrying magic. They find people with a talent for magic using incredibly intricate scrying systems. I once used them myself - I broke in to where the systems are set up and jury-rigged a mental assault spell against a rival using them as a targeting system."

"Does the school actually keep a record of my ancestry?"

"Undoubtedly, but a student would have to break in to somewhere, much like I did for the scrying system, in order to access it. What kind of elemental do you want to use as the base for her?"

What's your response?
>>
>>23485750

Can't information leak ? I assumed a part of the staff were alumni of this school and kept more or less official links with their former societies, and that Dextra didn't have to break in to get the records.
>>
"Air," you say without a moment's second thought. "I want it to be able to fly, and I figure using air has to be helpful, right?"

"Good idea, Max," your dad says. "Okay, go grab some temporary foci - this is pretty tricky for air elementals. Maybe a paper fan or something. I'll be waiting here once you've gotten what you need."

What do you go get?
>>
>>23486033
A feather, if we can find one being underground and all.
>>
>>23486033

paper fan, balloon, a small propeller, bat wings maybe fold a paper plane.

are our pillows stuffed with goose feathers?
>>
>>23486033
A paper fan, a container that we breathe into, and an icecube (You can see your breath when it is cold).
>>
>>23486033
I told you all we needed bat guano.

A paper fan, then. A paper airplane. A paper hot-air balloon.
>>
>>23486033
Maybe a feather out of the mattress or a pillow, a small sealable container (use the air inside it,the resulting vacuum will probably destroy the container), if air governs sound then maybe one of Selene's tuning forks (we'll make her a new one), and anything the other anons come up with...
>>
>>23486098
Where will you get the balloon or the propeller?

>>23486083
Probably not, unless you want to leave the Scholomance to go get ingredients.
>>
>>23486156
Oh well, we could just find a flying insect instead of a feather. Sure we can find some of them around.
>>
>>23486156
So we aren't sleeping on a feather mattress or down pillows?
>>
>>23486033
paper fan, feather, insect wing, bat wing, paper air plain, a bloon/ blow up condom ,paper hot-air balloon the lantern thing with a candle in it,
>>
>>23486102
If you can see it, it's because it condensates and stops being a gas.

Also, can we use a bit of air ? It's everywhere, we just have to want it to use it as a focus, right ?
>>
>>23486178
Maybe if we can figure out a sort of multiplication spell, one that gives you more of whatever you have, we could go get a sample of tempurpedic foam from a store and then just make big chunks of it we can cut to size.

Hell, we could probably offer that as a service. I'm sure some of our classmates would enjoy sleeping on something comfy.
>>
>>23486227
Given the level of paranoid at this school you think there'd be any buyers? Even if we were handing them out for free?
>>
>>23486280
change that to especially.

You point your finger like a gun at a bat flying above. "Boom," you say, and the bat spirals out of the air, landing on a nearby rooftop. You climb up and, after searching to find it for a few minutes, you eventually locate it. Its mind is broken, and so is one of its wings. You break its neck and bring the bat corpse back inside. You gather up all of your items and go back down to see your dad.

"You have everything, then?" he asks. "I like the condom balloon. Let's head up to the actual summoning circle. Better to do this kind of work inside the wards, in case anyone's monitoring the area for summoning."

You head up to the inbound teleportation circle, your tower key in your pocket. You put everything in the circle and, with your dad advising you, start concentrating.

Roll Conjuration. You get a +4 from your temporary foci and a +1 from your dad assisting you, so I'll consider the first six linked 1d100 rolls.

>>
>>23486871
It takes time to gather foci up, and they are one use. There's no reason other than time and availability. Planned and prepared magic is supposed to be the way to go in this setting.

Honestly the boxes we have in the various schools of magic are almost more useful for 'how many times can we use this magic' than they are for another 1d100.
>>
>>23486871
Probably Overkill and time investment.

You craft up a nice plush toy. It has bat wings, a plump body, and a great big stylized eye right on its midsection. It looks positively huggable, and it's primed to serve as the shell for an elemental.

"Can you bind it now, or do you have too much strain?" your dad asks. "I know that Conjuration isn't your best school."

How do you respond?

"Uh... Yeah, sure?" you say.

"Well... Maybe next time, then," he says with a bit of disappointment. "So, do you want to put together a rudimentary mind for it, or just leave it as basically mindless to make it even easier for her to use Enchantment on it?"

You bring the bat corpse in and put it, along with the novel and the sudoku puzzle, together around the lazily drifting stuffed animal. You intend to make it about as smart as a dog - maybe even a little dumber - and completely and unwaveringly loyal to Selene.

Let's ask him to write out some of the Paradox of Self and we can get started on finding a good way to place it on our body.

We don't want it to just be a giant block of text, having it circle, loop, spiral, and intersect will make it more visually appealing, obfuscate its meaning, and perhaps add some more depth of meaning to it as well with how we have it intersect.

Last thread someone posted this which is a good inspiration for how I'd like it to flow, though more complex and intersecting.

We can either:

Get the tattoos done asap so that we can finish our self augmentation requirements and start training with Alexander Lee. We might not understand it now, but they will work. Dad can't suggest somethingg that would screw us over.
or

Finish our self augmentation requirements and start with Alexander Lee while we try to come up with better tattoo designs. When we do get settled on a design we're gonna have to go through some major bullshit just to get it applied, probably requiring magic to get it done.

or

Put it off while we try to come up with a better design, while we fall behind what we could have already gained. Pray that nobody does any conjuration shenanigans to us while we contemplate the perfect tattoos. Also hope that we don't get hit with anything durability could have stopped.

1 is the safest

2 leaves us vulnerable to conjuration

3 leaves us vulnerable to conjuration and more normal attacks

"Oh," you say. "That's actually really fair."

"Of course," she says. "Did you think I would be mean to her?"

"No, uh. I wasn't sure what you were going to do, is all," you say. "I made a seeing eye construct for Selene. A pet bat toy thing. It's using an air elemental and a plushy body. I hope she likes it."

"You should be the one to give it to her," Liz says. "So that she knows it's from you and not a monster or something. Do you have it on you?"

If we want to understand it better, Max is going to have to learn the language. And probably meditate on and study the this poem.

Also
>That's what I would get myself tattooed with, anyway, if I was going to get covered in script.

>>23490597
>FTFY

Harm (to Liz), Foul (in relationship terms). Max is a horny half-incubus. You want to play her as a sociopathic fucking rapist. I like some engaging story and a semblance of emotional depth with my porn, thank you very much. If you want another "Hurr Durr, I has cock, therefore I fuck" quest, you should probably make Descartes Quest yourself.
>>
>>23490619
It would be more interesting than the fucking stat grind JRPG we're playing right now!
>>
>>23490661
This sounds like a good one. We should probably also get her a golden collar or some other treat setting her apart as first. Also get breakfast some cloths soon please.
>>23490619
playing Rance would kill you in any setting that follows basic physiology
>>
>>23490534
>He can't lie to us, or withhold info from us that could lead to harm. He believes this to be the optimum tattoo for our purposes.
>>That's what I would get myself tattooed with, anyway, if I was going to get covered in script.
Not for our purposes. This song is just the most significant for him

>He already did.
He did for one. He knows some others, and he can sing them and explain them too, and then we'll choose.
He can even translate the ones we're most interested in.
>>
>>23490686
No, it wouldn't. It'd be another dime-a-dozen I dick, therefore I am story. You want that, go to e-hentai. There are too damn many of them already to waste the premise of Scholomance FutaMuscleWizard Quest by turning it into one.
>>
>>23490672
Oh I'm sorry, we're a good and wonderful mother, let me just go call the girl I had my Dad mind break into a fuckpuppet up here to lick my cock while I plot on how to properly grow my dryad daughter so she's more pleasing to fuck when she's grown enough.
>>
Why are you people labouring this thing Liz said. She sorted things out with Breakfast, it was agreed that this is what she was going to do, she wasn't offering to go help us mindrape a bunch of people.
>>
>>23490619
We could play Gaviscon too.
>>
>>23490728
Really? Scholomance FutaMuscleWizard Quest? I thought I was playing BLATANT FETISH QUEST.
>>
>>23490372
Nothing too crazy, but we need her to understand the boundaries of our relationship and that she's stepping over them. We're dom, she's sub.
>>
>>23490591
From fem's post.

>"Now, I was wondering, do you have any advice for what stuff in the Word I should use to tattoo myself?"

>"That's a hard question," your dad says, thinking. "Maybe the Paradox of Self - that's an approximation of its title, it's one part epic poem, one part philosophical manuscript. My favorite adaptation of it was when it was made into an opera and performed in the streets of Gomorrah by blind and vagrant philosopher-priests. It's about, in simplest terms, how the self doesn't exist as long as you're supplementing knowledge externally, but as soon as you stop taking in knowledge there's no space for the self to exist in relative to the not-self, so it ceases to exist entirely. That's what I would get myself tattooed with, anyway, if I was going to get covered in script. What sort of thing are you looking for, Max?"

He suggested Paradox of Self directly in response to us asking what we should tattoo ourself with. So yes, it was his suggestion for what we should get ourselves tattooed with.

>That's what I would get myself tattooed with
That phrase specifically, by itself, is not him saying we should get Paradox of Self. You're right about that. But that's not why I put that quote in my post.
It shows that getting Paradox of Self tattooed on us is not innately harmful in any way. It won't blink us out of reality or something retarded just by having it on us.

The Paradox of the Self is kind of dumb anyway. I mean, it completely ignores a massive amount of philosophy to bastardize a line from Evangelion.
>>
>>23490769
We agreed that she would talk to Breakfast about this, she wasn't overstepping anything.
>>
>>23490821
'Talk' not 'set rules forever independently.'
>>
>>23490751
So your fetish is Sengoku Rance? Then go play Sengoku Rance!
>>
>>23490836
We agreed with her that we could fuck other people as long as she got to be our first girl, this is just part of that, I don't think it's something to start getting pissy about.
>>
>>23490769
Nope, she's fine breaking girls for us.
>>
>>23490850
It's a communal game! I get my vote just as you get your vote!
>>
>>23490853
'First girl' yes, but setting rules for the other slaves will lead to confusion.

Welcome to having a relationship. Those have been Liz's conditions since we kept Lin around.
>>
>>23490878
>Not attempting to manage what would turn into the bad sort of clusterfuck
>prevent confusion

It will be the only way to prevent confusion.
>>
>>23490836
That was the point, though. We let her discuss things between themselves, not because we think they don't chat enough, but because we wanted them to find an agreement.

>>23490770
>It shows that getting Paradox of Self tattooed on us is not innately harmful in any way.
No one assumed that, though. I don't like it much because it has little to do with us or our situation. It has a lot of significance for Samyaza, considering his personal history, and that's why he would want it for himself; but not for us.
>>
>>23490878
That's what being our first girl entails.

She's not our fucking slave, you know, if we start treating her like shit, she'll stop wanting to be with Max.
>>
Shit, we've been arguing this point for almost a half-hour now. Can we just suggest a course of action that isn't retarded and go with that?
>>
>>23490934
We have. We give her a kiss, call her a good little slut, then get the bat familiar so we can present it to Selene.
>>
>>23490953
This.
>>
>>23490934
Yes, we talk to her and (GENTLY) make it clear that we're in charge. Perhaps with some exaggerated 'punishment' later?
>>
>>23490968
We don't need to do that bro, we've been over that.
>>
"Yeah, you're right," you agree. "I'll go grab it. I wonder what she'll name it..." You give her a kiss. "You were a very good slut. Make sure you don't make decisions like that without my approval again, though. Okay?"

"Okay, Mistress."

You find it pretty much where you expected it, drifting in wide circles around Selene's crib. You reach out and grab it out of the air. "Come here, little guy," you say as it struggles slightly in your hand. "You wouldn't want to scare her, would you? We'll do a proper introduction once she's awake." It eventually stops squirming and flapping and just lies there in your hand.

What do you do now?
>>
Dude who worries about Liz setting rules, just wait. Natural the natural progression in this relationship will reduce her independence and insecurity over time. We've been in this relationship for what, a month and a half? Let nature take its course.
>>
>>23490797
>>23490909
If your argument against getting the Paradox of Self tattoo boils down to just not liking it, then fine. I can't argue against that.

But we still need to do SOMETHING. Right now we're doing almost nothing about the tattoos.

If we aren't going to do PoS then vote for Max to sit down with dad and go over ancient literature until we find something we like.

I made my post about our three options earlier.
>>23490023
I like 1 the best. It seems like you want 3. I'm fine with 3, but if we're going to do it then start actively trying to find something to get instead of PoS.
>>
>>23490994
Go talk to dad about more works that he knows in the Word.
>>
>>23490994
Study enchantment. Or mind, not really sure how to study that one.
>>
Balls, I just realized I botched the wording. Max isn't implying that she didn't get approval, just confirming that she'll get her approval again each time she does it in the future.
>>
>>23490968
Don't punish her for reaching an agreement we told her to reach.
That would be stiupid.
>>
>>23490994
Has Selene developed yet?
>>
>>23491027
I don't understand your question.
>>
>>23491027
Her hair just sprouted.
>>
>>23490994
Gently pick up Selene, start singing to her in what we can remember of the Word and gently rocking her to gently wake her up and introduce her to her new bud. We'll put her back to bed if she wants after the introduction, and she'll have a plush to cuddle with while she does so.
>>
>>23490998
>If we aren't going to do PoS then vote for Max to sit down with dad and go over ancient literature until we find something we like.
Yeah, that was what I suggested, I think.
>>
>>23490994
lets work o the next part of the spell for Selene use the new little elemental toy and try
>>
>>23490619
don't forget we have that cunt boys sheet.
>>
>>23491013
How do you study mind anyway? Welp, enchantment is closest to being finished off, so we might as well do that one.
>>
>>23491179
>How do you study mind anyway
start studying things that would challenge your mind
>>
>>23491174
You don't yet.
>>
>>23491201
Like enchantment?
>>
>>23491179
You don't study mind, you train your mind, the same way you don't "study body" :P
>>
>>23491174
Ok, as the one who posted the earlier tirade, I admit this thing turning into "Seduce Petrov Quest" would be a weird and possibly hilarious shift in tone.

When did we unlock Sam's sheet, though? (And come on, it's not hard to remember the name. It was the one of the two we considered for Max that didn't get chosen.)
>>
>>23490998
I'd rather us learn the language so we actually know what we're using as tattoos to keep the symbolism and craft temp focuses for now, we gain knowledge and alchemy/enchantment points then.
>>
>>23491215
Like new languages.
>>
>>23491232
Then vote to sit down with Dimitry and keep at it until we learn it. Max isn't exactly smart and the Word isn't exactly easy.
>>
>>23491227
You didn't unlock his sheet.
>>
>>23490994
Introduce Selene to Batman.
>>
>>23491248
yeah, new languages more likely to boost mind that studying enchantment
>>
>>23490994
Let's see if we can start going over the alphabet, written and spoken, from memory. Once we think we have a good copy have Dad check it over to see how well we're catching on with it.

(Gods, the memory of so many dead trees writing out both the hiragana and katakana charts.)
>>
>>23491268
let selene name her familiar bro

though clickity click-click sounds good.
>>
>>23491346
I'm just using Batman as a temporary designation.
>>
>>23491356
But it's not a man, it's an eye. Or a plush.
>>
You pick Selene up and kiss her little cheeks until she wakes up. When she's finally awake, she gives a big yawn, then starts clicking. You hold up the little construct. "I made this for you, Selene," you tell her. She scratches at her newly-bloomed petals, then reaches out to grab the construct. When it flaps its wings, she jumps a little, startled, and looks up at you. You just smile down at her, so she laughs and then gives the plushy a squeeze. "What's his name going to be?" you ask, and she looks at you confused. "What will you name him?" She's not sure what you're asking her.

She gives it another squeeze. It looks like she likes it.

What do you do now?

That's stupid. Liz would be completely incapable of comprehending its name. Or saying it.

>>
>>23491456
She can't say it. She can't even think it. Or recognise that we're saying the same word each time.

>>23491490
She's still living with it. She has to be able to talk about it, or understand when we're talking about it.
>>
>>23491500
Not sure if genius or retarded...
>>
>>23491535
>Or recognise that we're saying the same word each time.
We don't know this, given that the tattoos could be done by a mortal with some instuction, it is reasonable to assume that the same word will sound the same when it is repeated.
>>
>>23491500
Another rare moment of Snapple brilliance. For once, we should listen to him.
>>
Alfred? We need a butler.
>>
>>23491577
But it will be complete gibberish. She is incapable of registering it as an actual word that means 'sight' or 'that bat golem thing' or whatever.
>>
>>23491629
She'll eventually that if we say *-¨¨ù$--ùµ&é in the middle of a sentence to selene we're talking about sight.
>>
>>23491629
Yes, it will be gibberish, but it will be the same gibberish.

Not that it matters, I like Batman.

Just to clarify this, YHWH broke something in the minds and souls of all humans that allow them to associate meaning with the Word. They can appreciate its design or its sound, but they are incapable of associating symbolic meaning with it. Because magic.
