He nearly died doing it, his body was wrecked in the process, and he was shoved inside a drednaught as EVERYBODY was pretty much saying "This motherfucker needs to stick around." As such, he technically remains our Chapter Master to this very day, but in reality, the Captain of the Second Company runs shit, and leads the 1st as well. What are we gonna get this time?
>>
>>20131811
Solo Mode first. We get the Flesh Tearer's, as it's pretty damn obvious now we're of their geneseed.

A TASTE FOR BLOOD
Action: Free Action
Required Rank: 1
Effects: Even newly recruited Flesh Tearers must learn to turn their Chapter’s flaws to their advantage and can tap into the hunger of the Red Thirst to fuel their attacks against their enemies. This can give the Battle-Brother a burst of vigor once he has smelled the blood of his foe, allowing him to throw himself into combat with more strength and speed than normal. When the Battle-Brother makes a Charge Action against a foe which has been bloodied (i.e. has suffered at least a single wound) he adds 5m to his charge distance and gains an additional +10 to his Weapon Skill Test in addition to the normal benefits for charging.
Improvement: At Rank 4 the Battle-Brother becomes more adept at channelling his rage and adds +2 to any Damage rolls made during the turn he charges. At Rank 7 the Battle - Brother is even swifter to attack once he senses the blood of his prey and adds 7m to his charge distance.

>>20131878

Nits. Don't pick them.
>>
>>20131858
Here's Offensive mode, also Flesh Tearers.
RECKLESS ASSAULT
Action: Free Action
Cost: 2
Sustained: Yes
Effects: The Flesh Tearers are well known for their bloodthirsty assaults and the heedless brutality with which they throw themselves at their foes. Battle-Brothers of the Chapter are well schooled in such vicious attacks, which often disregard
the more prudent and considered assaults as laid out by the Codex Astartes. When the Battle-Brother and other members of his Kill-team within Support Range make a Charge Action they may choose for it to be a Reckless Assault. A Reckless Assault follows all the normal rules for Charging (as described on page 238 of the DEATHWATCH Core Rulebook), however, if he managed to kill his foe with his Charge attack he may immediately make another Charge Action as a Free Action provided there is another foe within charge range. A Battle-Brother may only make one additional charge as part of a Reckless Assault even if he manages to also slay his second foe with his attack. The drawback of making a Reckless Assault is that the Battle-Brother completely ignores any kind of defence against his foes and as a result loses his Reaction for that turn.
Improvement: At Rank 4 the Battle-Brother increases his chance to hit when Charging by +10, this is in addition to the normal bonus to Weapon Skill for charging. At Rank 7 the Battle-Brother adds an additional 1d10 to Damage for the first attack made during a charge.
>>

The fuck, that's World Eaters stuff
>>
>>20131878
Eat our foes then.
>>20131912
And our defensive, from Rites of Battle.
COURAGE UNDER FIRE
Action: Free Action
Cost: 0
Sustained: No
The Battle-Brother inspires those under his command to press on in the face of danger. When this ability is used, the Battle-Brother and any within Support Range of him may immediately recover from being Pinned. At Rank 4, those under the effect of this ability may also make a Half-Move as a Free Action.

Alright. Roll 1d100 for what we can't have. Ignoring results of 21-40, as these dudes not having Assault Marines is pretty stupid.

Umbra Pattern bolters can have chainsaw bayonets.

Also, with the name chart having "Obsidian" and "Jaguars" as options, maybe we should pick one of them, and then roll on the other chart?
>>
>>20132381
Heart Eaters, maybe? You ARE cannibals, after all.
>>

Rolling with on the first with Jaguars then.
>>
>>20132398
Hmm, looking again at the charts, there's a number of good options.
From chart 1:
Bloody
Flesh
Night
Obsidian
Red

From chart 2:
Blood
Death
Devourers
Fury
Jaguars
Rampagers
Tearers.
>>
Smoking Mirror was the Aztec name for obsidian, but that doesn't really represent our bloodlust enough.

Maybe something involving the sun, like their world's star is special in some way. Probably something to do with the warp, I dunno.
>>
>>20132440
Emperors Jaguars. The utter fuck?

Anyway, I'm partial to Heart Eaters myself. Fits us well, we're Blood Angels successors through the Flesh Tearers, it fits.
>>

>>
Red Jaguars

>>
>>20132466

>>

>>

Red Rampagers?
>>

>>
>>20132490

>>
I'd suggest Star Devourers, but that might be too khornate.

Other options:
Red Hands
Obsidian Skulls
>>
>>20132444
how about Flesh Tearers?
>>
I don't have my RoB in front of me, but if we stuck with the Aztec theme I think 'Sun Jaguars' would be pretty appropriate.
>>
Sanguine Dawn

Wait, this sounds familiar.
>>

>>
Smoke Jaguars?
>>
According to the book, Blood Angels successors often swap the order around.
So you could have the Jaguars Red, or something.
>>

>>
Obsidian Fangs.
>>
>>20132654
Or "obsidian Tearers" for both thematics and lineage
>>
>>20132654
How about we just go with this for the time being.
>>
This is hilariously close, because the Aztecs were also paranoid about sinners (of a sort) corrupting their villages, and were quick to put such offenders to the sword, or in some cases they did it to themselves sudoku style.
>>
>>20132651
Oooh, how about Obsidian Blades/Blades Obsidian.

Gets over their love of hand to hand fighting.

(Also, according to forge world, Salamanders use obsidian blades in their chainswords)
>>
>>20132711
sounds good to me.

Alright, first off, we have a Death Company. That isn't changing. We have no devastators. Perhaps the role falls to our tactical squads? Larger magazine capacity Bolters, that sort of thing? Our Librarians are pretty standard, if a bit more shamanistic. Same with our Chaplains. Our scouts are likely more close combat oriented than other chapters.
>>
>>20132733
One of our unique hero units should be some 40k take on the Maya Hero Twins.

>>20133141
I like it. I really like it. It's probably left behind though when the brother joins the Deathwatch, as part of a ceremony to symbolically cutting his ties with his brothers. Or we could use it as our chapter trapping. +5 to Willpower, and Weapon Skill if a heart is taken with it during a mission, and -10 Fellowship with non Blood Angels due to the grisly ritual?
>>
>>20133121
At least one of the hands should be red. Carving out hearts is messy business.
>>
>>20133207
Add in teeth filed to sharp points. They don't drink blood like other BA chapters. They literally devour their vanquished foes in orgiastic post-battle blood-letting ceremonies. Wounded prisoners are used specifically for the purpose, which actually acts as a kind of improvised mass-interrogation.

Okay, I now kind of imagine their hive temple-cities being massive step pyramids, where any pre-teen boy can attempt to scale the outside, fighting their way to the top, pushing rivals down into the endless jungle to die, with those who make it to the top alive judged worthy of joining the Bloody Jaguars.

Okay, so our chapter master's a dread (probably a furioso, since that's the blood angel equivilent of a venerable dread).

But the rest of the chapter probably also uses regular dreadnoughts, to replace devastator squads.

With the chapter master entombed, the Chapter is probably also led in its day to day activities by the Reclusiarch.
>>
Also WHERE is their home planet?
Any specific thoughts where it should be?
>>
Atop the nearby hillside, three chaplains it, cross-legged as they beat on their xenos and heretic-skin war drums. A lone Tau prisoner is chained to a hastily-carved slab of rock, and standing over him, helmet removed is the chief chaplain. He chants in an ancient, obscure and harsh tribal tongue as he holds a jade dagger over his head, both hands claspng the hilt. As his volume increases, at the bottom of the hill two dozen Blood Jaguars stand between and amongst countless wounded and mutilated Tau and traitor human prisoners, bound with ropes.

As the ceremony reaches its climax, with a roar of animal fury the chaplain hacks open the Tau's torso and rips out its heart. He holds it aloft and bellows at the marines below, who join in in a deafening cacophony. As he frenziedly devours the still beating heart, the marines below fall upon the prisoners. They scream in pain as terror as their limbs are torn off, mouthfuls of flesh are bitten out of them and their torsos are ripped open... with bare hands. The blood-drenched astartes do not stop until their appetites are sated, and they sit or stagger, gorged, among the eviscerated corpses of their foes.

Heey, how about having a ritual that involves hunting down some prehistoric beast of a bird (or even a dinosaur, since they're thought to have had feathers in many cases), and killing it using only what you can find and manifacture in the jungle? And when you return, its feathers are added to your armor. Jutting from between your backpack and your main armor? Forever showing what area you're from, how badass a hunter you were etc..

And when an Imperial General impudently demands to see who's in charge, and gets taken into the depths of their battle barge to meet the Chapter Master...

"WHY HAVE I BEEN AWAKENED FROM MY SLUMBER? HAVE OUR ENEMIES COME?"
"No, honoured Chapter Master. This... man, has demanded your attention."
"THEN LET HIM SPEAK"
"... um... I was wanting to know when your forces were deploying... my lord"

>>
Chapter Master Xipet T'otec rests inside a solid gold (and adamantium) sarcophagus, that spends most of its time adorning the Reclusiam on the Alter, the Jaguar's main Battle Barge. Only when he enters battle is the sarcophagus loaded into a massive custom Dreadnought frame, adorned with feathers and jaguar skins and armed with a pair of massive blood-red Dreadnought-scale lightning claws.

Maybe in a matter of days, if you're lucky or lazy, maybe months later if you're unlucky or an absolute hardass who isn't content with anything but the biggest, fiercest beasts of the darkest jungles. Loincloth of a giant tiger, on your head the clean skull of your chosen prey, with a colourful plumage, stained in blood, tied to your back. The heart of your prey wrapped in leaves, straight from the source (you literally aren't allowed to rest or linger after aquiring it), still wielding the weapon used, if any.

The Blood Jaguars are a chapter with a history of violence. One could in fact say that it is their geneseed itself that contributed to what they are today. Founded in M34, to specifically fight Orks, and parented by the infamous Flesh Tearers, they like their predecessor, suffer from the Black Rage at a higher rate than other Blood Angels successors. An attempt to correct this was made in their founding, but failed to prevent the Red Thirst and Black Rage from occurring at the same level as the rest of the Blood Angels successors. In fact, it may have made the Red Thirst even worse, if whispered rumors hold true.

Stranded by a warp storm from the rest of the Imperium for 2000 years, the Blood Jaguars emerged entirely divergent from the Codex. Gone were the Devestator squads, and in came chain bladed bolters, scout squads ripping apart Orks in frenzied close combat, and a Death Company whose acts of terror cause entire cities to commit suicide rather than face them. Suspected of Khornate worship on multiple occasions though never found tainted outside of Battle Brothers whom they kill themselves, the Blood Jaguars have a rocky relationship with the rest of the Adeptus Astartes and Inquisition. Despite this, the Chapter still seconds Brothers to the Deathwatch, though the eye of suspicion never leaves them.

The Blood Jaguars homeworld, Tenocit, is a jungled hive world, notorious for it's massive felinid predators, and large avian carnivores. Recruits are trained in the harsh jungles, expected to fight and kill predators with little more than stone knives they craft themselves and carry with them for the rest of their time with the chapter.

How is this so far?

I was thinking that, I saw a documentary awhile back. It was about a guy who used a crossbow, with a line attached to the bolts, to create rope-lines between treetops in the Amazon rainforest, which he then climbed over on. There could be some kind of trial involving that, like surviving for a year/month without coming down from the treetops.

>I suggested that.

Fuck yeah.

It's amazing what a generator and some awesome fa/tg/uys can do. This chapter is pretty damn awesome.
>>
>>20134727
Don't forget all the crazy shit we came up with.
Like Chain Sporks.

>>20134952
What Daemon prince should it be?
Who are all of Kornes Princes?

>>20134991
Very good so far.
Might do an attempt at some writefaggotry later.

>>20135008
Yes.
We are an Aztec like group in a hyper hostile forest environment.
We love our survival trials and games.

Also, don't forget the Amazon Sororitas.
Both groups recruit from Blood Games held underground.
>>
>>20134991
Almost forgot the Chapter Master.

Chapter Master Xipet T'otec is a figure of legend among the Blood Jaguars. One of the first generation of recruits from Tenocit, he quickly rose through the ranks, becoming the Chapter Master in M35. Soon after, a warp incursion on their homeworld occured, and the Blood Jaguars rose to meet it. T'otec faced a Daemon Prince of Khorne in hand to hand combat, and songs are still sung by the people of Tenocit of that day. Battered, broken, and skinned alive, T'otec emerged the victor, carving out the Princes heart with his stone knife and ripping it from his body before kicking the corpse off the top of the hab spire. Inturred in a dreadnaught soon after, he still is officially the Chapter Master of the Blood Jaguars, though he has not been wakened in two centuries.

Harsh survival- and combat-trials are favoured over years of disciplined apprenticeship, to ensure that every Blood Jaguar will be able to adapt if separated from the group. This strong emphasis on self-sufficiency, coupled with relentless drills to form an instinctive awareness of momentum, battlefield movements and where to find weaknesses in the enemy lines. Indeed, particularly zealous Jaguars will at times sacrifice themselves in displays of individual courage and bloodthirst, in order to saw terror in the hearts of opponents, creating panic and disorder where there previously were none.

How's that sound?
>>
>>20135135
I mean, aside from haphazard and downright incorrect sentence structuring and grammatical errors.
>>
>>20135135
Sounds great. What page are we on?
>>
>>20135112
What was done with the heart afterward?
Also would it be possible for the warp incursion to be part of the warp storm that cut them off?

>>20135135
I like it. It more handily explains the love of survival games.

Page five at 331 replies.
What do you want to do, captain?

I'm assuming it faded away with the corpse.

>This strong emphasis on self-sufficiency, coupled with relentless drills to form an instinctive awareness of momentum, battlefield movements and where to find weaknesses in the enemy lines.
This makes absolutely no sense right now. I forgot to add any sort of conclusion to the statements in the beginning.

>This strong emphasis on self-sufficiency is coupled with relentless squad drills to form an instinctive awareness of momentum, battlefield movements and where to find weaknesses in the enemy lines.
Better, I think?
>>
>>20135229
We're good. I'll start a new one at page 7.
>>
Actually, I just realized why we ditched Dev squads on top of being CQC nuts: They aren't that good in the close confines of a dense jungle.
>>
>>20135299

Mm, like guerilla type tactics, CQC ambushes etc. Is there an equivalent of a shotgun in 40k?
>>
>>20135299
Are you going to go with
>The jungle is so dense and full of poisonous flora and dangerous fauna, so hives had to be built to safeguard the population.
?

And anyone else got any fluff for our other important people?
>>
Do we have official colour schemes for the armor and the Death Company?

I'd like the homeworld to be in the path of Behemoth or something and make some writefaggotry about a Tyranid infestation of the death world and all the badass shit they had to do to repel it.

Also, what kind of vehicles will they favor? Dreadnoughts only? I'd like them to use bikes with chainsaws, land speeders and maybe some custom Stormraven and stormtalons for fucking up shit around the jungle
>>
>>20135299
Maybe have some more or less permanent ones stationed in the temples, and some in strategically important locations in the jungle where long-range surveillance and combat capabilities could be vital for disrupting ambushes near danger spots? Could even make these secret locations into places of pilgrimage for temple guards and Altar priests. Purification, contemplation and such?
>>
>>20132444
BLOODY BLOODS!
>>
>>20135347
Yes.
>>20135351
That's what I'd go with.
I'm assuming our Head Apothacary and Death Watch Chaplain work together a lot. Search the jungles for a plant or something that perhaps will help mitigate or even eliminate the Black Rage and Red Thirst.
>>20135352
We've got several in consideration

Go right ahead.

I'd assume they'd really not go for bikes. Too easy to get bogged down in the jungle. Dreds, landspeeders, gunships, vehicles that can just muscle through the underbrush, they'd love those. I'm also assuming that there are Orks in the jungles of their homeworld that they hunt down every once in a while.
>>
>>20135352
Hah, I just had a vision of solar-powered hang-glider squads, just waiting to swoop down and drop around the flanks of the enemy from some elevated hill.
>>
>>20135394
That sounds good.
>>
>>20135420

Orks are the ultimate prey!
>>
>>20135420
>Death Company Chaplain
>>
Chapter HQ: A massive *active* volcano carved on the outside into the shape of a giant ziggurat. The base itself is inside the walls of the volcano in a honeycomb of tunnels, and the HQ draws power from the lava chamber below. When the volcano erupts once every few decades, access in and out of the HQ is blocked. They have to sit tight and wait.
>>
>>20134485

I vote for this for the colour scheme, it looks beast.
>>
I quite like this one as well >>20133514
Perfect Death Company. Imagine some colourful, bloodsoaked feathers on the back of that thing and bam.

>>20135499
Seconded

D, you got the 1d4chan page up yet?

That sounds pretty cool.

>>20135564
Ah sorry, not yet.
I'll get on it right now.
>>
Say, if we have frequent arena death matches AND orks around our territories, doesn't it make sense for us to have our own breeding pit with the green buggers? There's nothing quite like hands-on experience of enemy anatomy and strength before facing them in the jungles. Breeding and training pits for other beasts is a given, of course.
>>
>>20135555
Thirded. Take off the red hands though, I think that should be reserved for the chaplains.

Don't forget the ritual bloodletting and devouring of foes

Can everyone link to what's been posted they want to be included?

I posted in this thread and won the roll to make them Blood Angels earlier today.

I come back to work and see this thread. And I am very pleased at what I see. Very great job.

Also. More glory.
