I too have admitably become interested in the franchise. I rented 2 some years ago. Didn't care for it, it was like it had all the spazzyness of ZOE with none of the finese that made it viable.

Nine-Ball sort of 'dropped' out of the singles division to go after them, with his forfeiture dependent on whether he gets back in time, but he's pretty much openly stated he doesn't care about that as much as justice so who knows."

"Singles are still on, teams are suspended until further notice."

"Well, on the one hand, that's convenient. On the other: Are you telling me that I passed out and missed everything?"

I think he just assumed you would get better because he just had a hard time imagining you dead. Morgan's been sympathetic, but kinda awkward since she doesn't really know us that well yet."

"Well, we've all been under a lot of stress lately, and you've been acting a little different. Not way off, but enough that I notice it every once in a while. Is these things separate things? Elsie's face lights up. You are impressed, but slightly less enchanted.

"So who are you?"

"Oh right, my bad. I'm David Blaine. I do illusions and magic tricks. I figured I'd run around and do some street magic to kill time until my next show. Hey, if you kids want to come to it I'll let you in free for being such good sports."

"Eh, about an hour. It's in that old theater over there." He points at a building a couple streets over. It looks like an older single hall movie theater, that's been converted to accommodate a live show.

At first the girl is hesitant, but after a minute she gets into it and they start to swing right there in the street.

After a few moments you grab Elsie and go. She stumbles the first couple of steps, but then quickly adapts to it. After a minute Steve winks at you and you pass the two girls spinning between you and change partners for a brief time before swapping back for the last bit of the song.

As the music draws to a halt the band leads a brief round of applause for the four, which the crowd you've seem to have gathered joins in.

Steve walks over to you and a shocked, embarrassed, and smiling Elsie.

"Hey Alex. What're you doing here?"

"Just wandering around. You?"

"Much the same my friend. So this is-" he nudges the girl who responds 'Kara' and Steve barely misses a beat "-Kara, and let me tell you, she's a FANTASTIC dancer."

"I know."

"Indeed you do. And judging by your lady's moves you have good taste on the matter."

You glance at Elsie. Her embarrassment has faded slightly, but her smile's grown slightly bigger. "Thank you."

"I speak only the truth. Now, I may have just dazzled this lady here, but now I need to find a way to keep her around." He says to you in a conspiratorial stage whisper.

When you get there, one of the door watchers waves the four of you past the line, and points out a private table for you to sit at. Before long, David Blaine walks out onto the stage to open his show.

An involuntary growl escapes his lips as he flexes the fingers on his right arm, and hears the quiet whirr of the servos inside.

And if he's here, than Fraide is likely nearby. If the info he dug up is accurate, then whoever was behind that attack in Alaska has connections in Vegas. Not that that's surprising in and of itself, everyone has connections in Vegas.

But if these two are here.... he decides to play a bit more low key until he knows more. He stifles his desire for revenge, even as the scene replays in his minds eye; fire, screams and all.

He walks away while he can still force himself to do it.
