    The year is 2025.
Your name is Dave, and you never asked for this.
Once a generic white-collar worker who lived alone save for your cat, you were hit by a car and spent three months in a coma.
You awoke to find that your unconscious body had been taken in by the corporation 'Emulsified Electronics', and implanted with an experimental augmentation. You soon found that it allowed you to control electronic devices with your mind, and you immediately used that power to it's fullest, eventually gaining in power and prestige until EE hired you, officially, as one of their agents.
At almost the same time, it came to light that a mysterious PMC, called ArmaTek by name, had started to mobilize against EE, undoubtedly hired by an unseen hand.
    >You're currently on the 'ArmaTek' arc, which started on thread 5.

    >Dave: This is you. You're 25, and you have a 'Bullfrog' gen-3 prototype implanted in your spine, allowing you to control electronics with your mind.
    >Abel Rowling: Your coworker\drinking-buddy. Used to be your roommate years ago before you got him a job at the place you worked, now he's living on his own and taking care of your cat, Ishelda. Is currently investigating ArmaTek.
    >Jun Viridian: The 38 year old neuroscientist who implanted you with the prototype, and from what you can tell, was the one who designed it. Also designed a weapon called the EM hammer which was soon found in the hands of ArmaTek.
    >John Grayson: A security specialist who works for EE. He has implanted arms and broad shoulders. He used to be military, but declines to explain the circumstances about why he left.
    >Verne Tolstoy: A quiet, overweight man who used to be a cop. Most of his internal organs are all augmented versions, and he has an augmented arm; Ever since a mishap with an EMP, he's been unable to do his mercenary work with his niece, Amy.
    >Amy Tolstoy: A teenage mercenary girl with neon hair, augmented legs, and a wrist computer full to the brim with random AI constructs. She has all sorts of strange friends, mostly of the kind that show up illegally on a boat, sell weapons in a thick accent, and sail away.
    >Azure, Onyx, and Cyan: Your bullfrog's three onboard AIs; Cyan specializes in networking, Onyx specializes in combat, and Azure bridges the gap between them.
    >Mysterious nat100 woman: You had a drunken one-night stand with her after giving her a stupid pickup line about your mechandrite, and you quickly forgot her name, home, and phone number. /tg/ rolled to see how hot she was, and apparently, she was the single hottest woman on the face of the earth. Now, if only you could find her again. . .
    >> Exabyte !SIL6URyblU 05/01/12(Tue)15:03 No.18936573
You arrange your gear once more, making sure you have everything. Yes, it's still early in the day, and the mission you, Amy, and Grayson are doing are tomorrow, but it would be best if you didn't miss or forget anything.
Your armor, for one, is important. It looks kind of cool and futuristic, but you haven't had a chance to test it out yet- which is a good thing, seeing that testing it involves being shot at.
Your mechandrites, both mounted to your back. You're quite adept at controlling them, at least compared to most who use the exotic augments. You also grabbed a few monomolecular knives that you can slip into them, in case you want to cause stabby death with the whippy tendrils.
The two hovering drones you had slaved to your trinity of AIs, both equipped with medium-range weaponry.
And finally, your projectile weapons; A gauss rifle, a pretty standard primary weapon, and a crossbow, which is really useful for stealth assaults- at least, that you've found, having only done a single mission in your entire life.
A conspicously open space is sitting in your equipment, and that's the weapon Amy promised you after taking some exotic weaponry that you bought with your own money - A plasma javelin, she called it.

You crack your neck, done arranging your gear. Now you have half a day to waste before you need to sleep. Jun's in a meeting, Grayson is god-knows-where, Verne and Amy are probably arranging the mission with their employers. . You're free, it seems, for now at least.

Well I don't know about you guys, but I think that we should take advantage of this free time as an opportunity to try and track down that goddess we met at the bar.

A more rational thing to do might be to test out our armor, but then again we don't want to damage it in any way before the mission.

You put your hands in your pockets, and decide to go back to that bar. That girl was stunning, and liked your humor, too. Maybe if you asked the bartender if he's seen her before. . .
You enter the bar, and it looks a lot quieter than it had been the other night. You don't see her in the bar right now. . Waiting for a lull in orders, you sidle up to the bartender.
"Hey, uh," You start. "This might be a weird question- But I was here the other night, and I had a bit too much to drink. . " You say, not sure exactly what to ask. The bartender raises his eyebrow, waiting for you to finish.

He thinks about it for a moment, and shrugs. "Yeah, she was here." He said. "I remember her- I mean, who wouldn't? I mean, she had eyes for nobody, except for that aug'd man who had been playing poker over there, and you. Then she gave the neon girl a look. . Maybe she had some kind of aug kink?"

"So, uh, you ever hear her introduce herself? To me?" You ask, scratching your head.

He laughs, and nods. "She called herself Natalie, but that was it. I don't know anything else."

Thanks. Leave a good tip for the man.

Check around for regulars and see if anybody recognizes her name/description.

Ok are there any security cameras in here and outside, given that it's near-future they probably keep footage for at least a week if not more. The problem is that they might store it pretty much anywhere, but we have to check. We might be able to get her face and how we got to where we slept together, if it's a taxi we could get answers from there, if it's a car we can trace it, and if it's on foot we might be able to retrace our steps.

You chuckle, shrug, pay the bill, and leave her a message on her phone. Then you check the time- It's about time to sleep- you want to get some rest before the mission tomorrow. In fact, it's probably best that you didn't go home with Nat this time; there's no way you would have spent the time sleeping.

You make it back to the EE building without incident, and check your equipment again- It's strange, you're almost paranoid about the mission; much more than when you were on the powerplant mission.
    >From here on out, think carefully whenever I give you a greentext decision. This is me pretty much saying that you've left the 'grace period' of the quest. As in, main characters can die if you screw up.

"You got everything?" Grayson asked, the two of you waiting in the parking lot for Verne and Amy. Soon enough, they arrived, and Amy bounded up to you, darting out of the car, and grabbed something from the trunk, before handing it to you. "Open it!" She called. "Open it!" A large, green case- nearly four feet long. You flip it open, and what's inside is beautiful.

At first look, it's an enormous rifle- larger even than Grayson's souped up gauss rifle. The porpotions are off too, the barrel much too thick to be any kind of conventional weapon. As you flick off the safety, one of the weapon's six power cells start up, and something inside the barrel starts whirring. . and you can swear it's rumbling in your hand. As the rumbling grows, the second power cell starts up.

"Wait, wait." Amy said. "You. . don't want to fire it here. It's. . loud." She says, and flicks the safety off. The weapon dies in your hands. "Not to mention there's . .a lot of collateral damage, especially in a small space like this."

You look between the rifle and Amy, and you're strangely disappointed. You put it back in the case, and carry it with you- the rifle is too large to fit in your duffel bag with the rest of your gear, so you wrap a mechandrite around the case, carrying it on your back.

"So, what exactly are the parameters of the mission?" Grayson asks Verne as you pile into the car.

"There's this airfield." Verne said. "This is a co-op mission with another squad. They're going to break into the building, steal a prototype device, and race off to the airfield. Our mission, mostly, is to cover them as they load up the cargo plane with the prototype. They're expecting the corp to send everything they have to get their stuff back, so our job is to hold the place and make sure the plane gets into the air. Once the other team and the plane is away, the mission is over and we get paid." Verne says. "Any questions?"

Well, I've got this handy dandy new gun, that ought to deal with any light armor they send at us, how much armor can this baby penetrate anyway.

Do we have claymores, mines and the like to make holding the area easier. Are there any good sniping positions nearby? How big of a corp are we talking here, everything is a rather vague term unless we know that. Where is the Airfield, how many entrances are there that they can take with most vehicles, how long is it going to take them to get from building to airplane and go?

"Are we getting onto the plane too?"
"No, only the second team is. the plane's going halfway across the world, and it's just a hassle to go all the way there and come back. I know you and Grayson have other obligations, so we'll have to disband after the plane leaves."
"Seems straightforward enough. What's the payload?" you ask.
"The payload is a large . .computer, we think. The parts are in three one-ton crates, and the truck's been on it's way for two hours now. It's due to arrive soon." Verne said, stopping the car in the middle of an all-but abandoned airfield. "Here's where you guys get out, and I go get to the overwatch bunker." He says, and you do so.
The area around the airfield is mostly flat, save for a small building with a flat rooftop- a good vantage point. To the left, there was a large plane, the cargo bay in the back opening, and three large men stepped out, grease on their hands.

"Oleg! Sanya! Hanussen!" Amy cries, waving to the three large men already at the airfield. "You three are the plane operators? I didn't know you were going to be in town! If you weren't so icky right now I'd hug you guys."

Grayson turns to you. "How the hell does she know these people?!" He whispered to you. You shrug.

Verne starts up another conference call.
"Okay." He said. "Grayson, I know you're best at long range, so you would be best placed on the rooftop. Amy, you're our speedster, so you'll on the ground, covering the plane and crew itself. And Dave. . I'm not entirely sure what your capabilities are. You have enough equipment to fit any niche imaginable, so you can choose where to set up. I trust your judgement."
<Onyx, what do you think?> You ask.
<The city is to the east, but there are trees in the way, so I doubt they'll come from that way if on ground. If in the air, they'll come from the east, and the rooftop will be the best vantage point. If on the ground, they'll come from the road, and you will be able to kneel in the field there, and engage them with ranged weaponry until they approach closer. If you wish to engage in melee combat primarily, you can stick near the plane with Amy. Of course, the rooftop is specialized for long-range combat, and you can jump down at any time- the mechandrites won't take significant damage if you use them to land.>
Azure spoke up, too. <Also, the drones may be useful. Their range will spread over the entire area, but they'll be most efficient if covering someone- Either you, Amy and the crew, or Grayson.>

<Send both drones to cover Amy and the crew.> You say. <They'll need the protection.>

You look up to the rooftop, and then down to the road. "I'll take the rooftop." You say, opening your bag. The drones hover out of their own volition, one darting above Amy's shoulder, and the other covering the crew. The crew looks at the droid warily, but then they shrug.

Grayson takes bolt-cutters and chops off the lock to the building, and the both of you climb up the stairs to the rooftop. He grabs a tripod out of his bag, and installs it on his gauss rifle, screwing it tight, and put on goggles, stretching out prone. "Ready." He said over the comms.

Amy and the crew were talking and laughing about something, and then she turned to look up at you. "Hey, Dave, be careful with that gun. It'll take some time to cool down after each shot, so don't use it too often, or the EMP shielding will die, and the next time you fire the whole thing will melt down the entire thing into slag- It might take your hands, too."
You nod, and set down the Plasma Javelin case, flipping it open and ready to grab at a moments' notice.

You kneel, and draw the Javelin out of it's case. You flip the safety off- Actually, it's not a safety, you see, but a switch from 'off' to 'on', but that hardly matters now. The rifle whirrs, and you feel that strange rumbling coming from it. You aim, and wait, watching the power cells each activate in succession.

The first one clicks on, and you can barely see the truck in the distance, quickly coming closer. An APC weaves out behind it, and Grayson takes a shot, but you wait.

The third cell clicks on, and the truck is closer, starting around the curve to the airfield. Grayson is firing more, now, and you can see someone sticking out of the side of the APC, firing a gun at the truck's tires. Grayson fires once more, and the man hanging out of the APC fell, dead.

The fifth cell clicks on, and then the truck rolls to a stop. The APC is behind it, about to crash into it, and then it swerved to the side, not wanting to damage the prototype. The Javelin's rumbling is. . unnerving. It sounds. . hungry. You take careful aim- toward the second APC, which is still in movement.

Your vision goes static, and there's absolutely no recoil. For a moment, flying through the air, you see what no man has ever seen before- A bolt of flaming, green lighting, eerily twisting through the air like something that spit in the face of physics. Like the middle finger of god himself, it smashed into. . the road below the APC, just below it's front fender.

The other APC starts to open, but then you see Amy skid by, something like. . skates attached to the bottom of her augments. She skidded by the back of the APC, and tossed something into the door way, firing a spray of bullets from her gun. Soon after the object was thrown, it detonated, fire belching out of the APC's open door.

You fire once more, and miss again with the gauss rifle. "Fuck this." You say, and throw it to the side. You close your eyes, and focus. .

    Verne came onto the comms.
"There's something big coming from the east; I think it's an attack chopper. If that big gun you're carrying around is any use, I suggest you use it now, Dave." You hear him say.
<Cyan, is the javelin cooled down?> You ask, and hear Grayson fire again.
"These fuckers won't go down." He said, gritting his teeth. "They just take it and get back up."
    <I don't know.> Cyan said after a moment.

You hear the whirring of a chopper, and look over the other side of the building to the plane area and loading dock. They've loaded up one crate already, and they're working on the second, when the first straight-jacketed person got there. He twitched, and the straightjacket burst open, the man snarling unintelligably, both of his arms replaced with talons. He dived forward, but one of your drones darted down and blew him off of his feet.

You look to where the chopper is coming from, and you see it in the distance, looming closer.
<Damn it, is the javelin cooled down yet?>
    <I don't know!>

You hear Amy scream in the distance, and she's on the ground, one of her legs smoking. She peppers one of the normal soldiers in the face with the uzi, but she needs some help.

A thousand thoughts race through your mind, and then you decide on one thing. Amy needs help.

You *roar* at grayson. "Cover amy!" You say, and then kick in bullet time.

In a single, swift movement, you snatch the Gauss rifle off of the ground, and fire three shots at three, soldiers surrounding her, each shot blasting them to the ground and sending up a little puff of blood each time.
"The chopper!" Verne calls in slow motion, and you snatch up the Javelin. You hear the chopper's gun start whirring- a chaingun of some kind.

<-I'm not sure if it's cooled down yet!> Cyan called- you can tell he's starting to panic.

<I don't fucking care.> You fire the javelin, and the blast of physics-defying, flaming, electrical, eerie blast of lightning hits the chopper head on.

The blastwave shakes the building, and the chopper explodes into a burst of green flame.

You slide the javelin to Grayson, and then take a leap, skip, and a hop off of the building, catching the impact on your mechandrites.

As soon as you do so, the three straight-jacketed soldiers you shot tore off their jackets, and flipped back onto their feet, revealing more mono-clawed augments. One leaped towards Amy, and amy's drone blasted a hole into their head, blowing them to the ground.

The other two clawed soldiers charge at you.

With a start, you realize that you left the gauss rifle on the rooftop.
    <I suppose it's CQC time.> Azure says.

Your reaction was instantaneous. You bring the javelin up, point it at the chopper in the center and fire. The spear of lightning blasted through the sky, and blew it out of the air. Perhaps it was the distance, or maybe the javelin was damaged, but it didn't give off any collateral damage, instead simply boring a hole into the choppeg vaporizing all of the important parts in a straight line.

"I've had enough." You say, and you don't even bother to close your eyes this time. You just glare at one of the choppers with the burning intensity of a thousand suns, and you *will* it.

    <It's out of range> Cyan said. <I can't target them>
The chopper promptly smashed into the other, both of their rotors crashing into one another.

    The explosion was beautiful.

    And then you pass out.

How did you post this without getting banned?

Perhaps one of the players can act as a relay and continue the session? If anyone is up for that and Exabyte is alright with it, of course.
