"So, how was last night?" You ask. "I was. . a bit inebrated and I don't remember much."
"Well, after being hilariously bad at poker, I just hung out. . Until Verne showed up and dragged me out of there. You?"
"Women love the robotic tentacle look. I've no idea why it hasn't caught on."
"Well, there's the fact that the 'robotic tentacle look' requires major surgery for everyone *except you*, probably. Oh, that reminds me! One of my contacts found a few . . exotic weapons and augs, and so I was going to go check them out. But since Verne is still ill after the EMP blast, he can't come with. Want to join me?" Amy asks.

I mean seeing as she is sexy as all hell we should wake her up and tell her personally I think, so that she might actually consider getting back into contact with us later.

<It's M-something.> Azure said, answering your thoughts. <You were so fucked up, it's not even stored in your brain.>

    "When and where?" You asked.
"Oh, you'll go? Joy!" Amy said. "Anyways, it'll be down near the docks; The guy will only be in town for a day or so, so it'll need to be today. Are you free?"
"I need a shower, and then I'll be ready." You say. "Should I take a taxi, or just walk?"
"Oh, I'll be borrowing Verne's car. I can pick you up." She said.
You're not sure how to react to the thought of her driving.
    <Don't worry!> Azure said. <Amy can't fail at anything, let alone driving!>
Now you're even less sure how to react, so you just shrug and take your shower, meeting Amy as she stopped by the parking lot.
"So, do you live in this building?" She asked, looking by. "You always end up here."

    rolled 2 = 2

You slide into the car, and buckle your seatbelt. Firmly. "Yeah, I live here. I have the prototype spine and everything, so it's best if I stay somewhere they can make sure nothing goes wrong."

"I see. Do you have everything?" She asked. You nod, checking your bag. Gauss rifle, deck of cards, mechandrite, all of your credits...
"Oh, I forgot to return this." You say, pulling the crossbow out of the bag.
"Keep it. You earned it, and I got it for free anyway." You nod, and she starts the car, driving off.

The ride was uneventful- she's a much better driver than you'd think, based on her character.

"Oslav!" Amy called, parking the car at the docks. They were all but abandoned, save for a large man with a bowler hat that stood there, leaning up against a locked storage container. After a bit of small talk between the man and Amy, he opened up the container, and you two poked around. There were monomolecular blades of all kinds, gauss weaponry, railguns, and dozens of basic arm-leg augs, stuck inside a box.
    >What do you look for?

Oslav behind you takes a look at it, and another look at your shoulder. "Five hundred." He says through a thick accent. "Well, you came with the girl, so you can't be all bad. Four hundred."

Behind you, Amy speaks up, holding two devices, each the size of bowling balls. "I found these two cool hoverdrone things. I mean, I don't have a use for them, but you might. They don't seem to have any weapons, though."

<I see.> You say, after thinking. <Well, you know how to fly these, don't you?> You ask, watching the drone hover about, still connected to your cable.
    <I'm learning.> Came his response.
<Then can you just create AIs to fly them?>
<Yeah, I can do that.> He said. <It wouldn't be hard. Just a small amount of my own knowledge, without any personality indicators. . Then you can just tell them what you want them to do, and they'll do it. It'll be a lot like controlling those mechandrites, but without anything connected.>

There's a ping noise, and the cable detached from the drone. It continued flying, and you could easily see from it's camera, as if you had gained a third eye. You simply will it to fly to the left, and you saw it tilt, hovering to the left.

With a drone or other direct connection, you can reach a bit further, but even if you had the very best, fastest fiberoptic cable ten miles away, you can't hack past those ten miles.

Soon, you're quite adroit with the drones as well. You'll have to get used to them after they're carrying weapons, but you think you're as used to them as you can get.

You nod, and look over the small arms, looking for something that would be good to attach to the drones. You find a few gauss handguns that could be converted easily, a heavy railgun or two. . and. .
"What the hell are these?" you ask, looking at the metallic tubes.
"Oh. . oh my." Amy said, looking them over. "These are plasma pistols! An electromagnetic sheath, firing an ionized cluster of electricity. . These things are old and busted, but I could fix them up. They're rare, too. I'm suprised I didn't see them earlier."

Get a plasma and a railgun, one for each drone.

Another option would be to get two plasmas and two railguns, that'd be expensive but we could swap stuff out.

This is assuming that we can stick the railguns on and we can only fit one gun on each drone.

"Which one of these would be better for the drones?" You ask her, and she thinks for awhile.
"The gauss are pretty standard, but they're loud and very visible. The railguns are quite a bit more powerful, and silent, but see how they're cut down? The drones can carry them because they're cut down like that, but they have way shorter range. And. . I don't know about the plasma. Plasma weapons are rare, and I've never even seen on in person before. I know they have a short range, and they play merry hell on electronics, and on. . well, everything, because they're really hot. It's like if a tazer had a child with a flamethrower, and the child was fired out of a slingshot. Or something."

"Could I fit several on each of them?"
"Well, you could, but in practice you could probably only have one weapon fired at a time- the drones don't have very powerful generators, after all."
    You turn to Oslav.
"Do you have any kind of body armor?"
He looked you up and down, as if appraising you. "Two hundred for the armor. Ceramic plating. Very nice" He said.

"Wait, are those the thermal-infrared ones from those guys that kidnapped me?" You ask.

She looked up at you, took them off, and smiled. "They used to be. Now. . I can do two things here with these." She said. "Either I can connect both barrels to the same trigger, connected to a powerful power source- the energy sheath around them would fall apart almost instantly, though, giving them much shorter range, or I could connect both barrels *in sequence*. That way, a single projectile could be fired further, and much more accurate. It, of course, would be way more powerful too- being able to double the size of the energy sheath does that."

We either need new legs and hip or 2 more mechandrites to act as a support. I think we know which we will be getting.)

<Holy shit, Onyx, you talked? Amy said that you never did.>
    He doesn't respond.
You open your eyes, and you see Jun and Grayson looking at you, a bit worried. You give them a thumbs up. "Is there any kind of weapon or combat training room?"
Grayson nodded. "Yeah, we have one." He said. "It's down in B-4."
    Wait, what?
"Uh, I thought there were only three basement floors. That's what you told me on the tour, anyway."
"We lied." He said. "You're an agent, now, which means you're authorized to know a bit more."
    ---

The training room is massive. Almost as large as the parking lot, anyway.
"Also, Amy is getting a group together for a mission." You say, kneeling with the gauss rifle as you fire. "I might go. You in?"
He thinks about it for a while, and then fires his souped-up rifle three times in quick succession. "Maybe."

So. . you were -already- an agent.
You put the rifle away, and grab two mono-knives from the weapon bench, giving them to your mechandrites. You swing them around, and they whistle as you do. You take a few steps back, and then leap forward, twisting through the air. Slash-slash-stab. Parry-parry-lunge.

You arch your back, and then bend forward at the hips, your mechandrites whipping the knives through the air, where they sail into the target.

"Reach, flexibility, and lethal." Grayson noted. "Everything you need for CQC, and you have it in spades."

You nod, and try a few tricks with your mechandrites- mostly, firing while clinging to a wall, or firing while clinging to the ceiling, or climbing along the ceiling silently.

While you practice with that, Onyx and Azure are working together with the droids, Onyx slowly learning how to control them. The way it's set up, you can wrest control of them at any time, but the moment you 'let go' of them, Onyx will take over.

Ah, shame. I guess we'll find out later then?

Anyway, thanks for the quest. I'm off to sleep.

Uh, it was about the part where we rolled a 98 to kill her in her sleep; seeing as the general consensus was NO MERCY. And then you didn't kill her. Seemed a bit like railroading. But you promptly rectified the situation by placing enough c4 to level a building underneath her. And then detonating it. And then confirming that yes, she is good and dead.

We take averages of the rolls. Your awesome roll was probably fucked up by lower rolls from before.

No, I didn't roll that 98, but I was kinda disappointed that at that time we all had decided one thing, and he did another. Granted, we got what we wanted in the end, but even without that roll most of us said to kill her in that vulnerable position.

However it's all good because you did evnetually kill her in a way that was much more fun and climactic than some gauss through her brain.

And I'm just one Anon; I haven't seen anyone else complain about it, so maybe I'm just being picky.

Either way, don't change a thing; you always seem to do the right thing, whether that's immediately obvious or not.
