    >Am seriously considering it now, but wondering if I could really get as much as I need.

YOU ARE ALEX RASTON. And you have a seriously bad kink in your neck.

Also the phone is ringing. You open your eyes to see Elsie sleeping on your chest, and realize your neck hurts because the two of you fell asleep on the couch, jamming your neck into the arm-rest at a weird angle.

You could answer the phone, but that would involve waking her up.

You give Elsie a gentle shake. She wakes slightly, and then realizes you were going to go answer the phone. She sits up and looks at the clock.

"Who the hell's calling here at 2am?"

"An excellent question," you respond as you cross the room. "Hello?"

"H-hello?" A voice asks over the line. "I-is this Dave?"

"Dave's not here at the moment, but I'm a friend of his. Can I help you?"

"My mom... she told me to call this number if I ever needed help."

    "O....Kay.... How can I help?"

"T-these men came into my moms bakery.... They started yelling at Brain, he's my mom's friend, helps out sometimes. Anyway, they started arguing and then one of them... they pulled out a gun and...."

You can hear her freaking out a little over the phone. "Hey, hey. Listen. It's going to be alright. Where are you? Right now?"

"I.... I don't know. after h-he.... after he shot.... he pointed at me and said 'there she is' and I ran."

    "Alright, listen. What's your name?"

    "Cass. Casandra."

"Alright. Cass? Do you see somewhere near you? Visible with lots of people?"

    "There's a Casino. The.... Venetian?"

"Go there. Wait somewhere with lots of visibility, call me on my personal line when you find somewhere safe." You send her your number "I'll come find you right now, ok?"

"A-alright. Alright. I can do this."

"Alright, be safe Cass, I'm coming."

You hang up the phone. "What the hell?" Elsie comments, now fully awake. "What was that?"

"Not sure, but it sounds like somebody's in trouble. Care to join me?"

"Yeah, let me get my coat."

You are Lawrence Brenner, and sitting between two cops waiting for your go in the emergency room, you take a moment to reflect on your evening.

It started out simply enough, going to a dive of a bar and grabbing a bottle. Just wanted to drink in peace.

So of course, THAT couldn't happen.

"Hey hey, what's this now. some limp wrist-ed little pretty-boy got hisself a glass of whiskey like a real man? Sure you wouldn't be more at home with an Appletini?"

Oh no he did NOT just go there.

"Excuse me?" you ask, turning around to see the three tough guy biker types eying you. Looking around, it looks like they've got about six of their friends scattered around the place, watching the confrontation. You've had worse odds.

"Couldn't hear me the first time? Your kind ain't welcome here, faggot."

You sigh. All you wanted to do was get drunk.

Sliding off the bar stool you look at the bartender, obviously not wanting to get involved. "I'm going to apologize in advance for doing this to your bar." Then you break the Oak stool over the lead idiots face. you probably shouldn't enjoy the startled looks on his friends faces, but something about a bunch of thugs bulling a 'weak' target brings out the asshole in you.

You park the car, and walk casually across the way. you see the little club thing Cass said she would be waiting just outside of.

You see a girl getting accosted by a couple of thugs in bike leathers. She's trying to explain to them that she has no interest in them and seems kinda nervous. You recognize her voice from the phone earlier.

"Cass?" You call out. She looks at you, and seems relieved. The man with his hand on her ass...

"Hey, you mind giving us a little privacy here?" he says, pulling her closer. She responds by trying to shove him away. "Me and the girlie here were gonna have a little fun."

    "Yeah, no. Come on Cass."

One of his friends begins to walk your way and cracks his knuckles. One of the other ones grabs Elsie around the shoulder "Hey baby, how about you ditch that loser and come spend time with a REAL man? Here," He says as he slowly starts to grind into her "Feel my gun?"

"Yeah," she responds with a hint of amusement "I can feel your 'gun." All three of the thugs freeze as a loud, metal click is heard and her voice goes ice cold. "Feel mine? It's a .45 caliber, so the bullet's about twice the size of that thing you call a dick. Now remove your hand, or I remove your TESTICLES."

I know but paranoia is only paranoia when people aren't out to get you. When they are its just common sense. But really I figure its probably best to only have ourselves and Dave there for the explanation. This is probably a deeply personal matter and as the leader of the team we need to verify if it'll be something the entire team needs to be aware of but if it isn't then Dave has the right of who to let into the know.

When you get back to the hangar, Elsie takes the girl inside.

You see Dave's car coming so you wait outside.

The three of you walk in together.

    "That the girl?" He asks.

    "Yeah. Know her?"

"Never seen her before in my life."

Then she looks over and sees you. "D-dave? My mother told me to call you if I needed help."

    "Your Mom?"

    "Molly. Molly Kreever.'

About a million emotions play across Dave's face in a heartbeat. "Yeah, alright. Come on kid, we got a spare bunk, you can sleep there tonight."

"O-ok...." She says, and the two of them walk upstairs. A minute later, Dave comes back alone.

    "So, who's Molly?"

"Old friend of mine. Met her before me and ,my family parted ways, and she's one of the few people I kept in contact with afterwards. What I'm curious about as to who the hell that girl is."

    "Why? Isn't she Molly's daughter?"

"The Molly I knew was sterile, and she didn't HAVE kids when I last saw her about four years ago. Even if she did have one via miracle, they wouldn't be pushing 16."

A loud Dun dun duuuun plays.

"Not now Mooch." Dave says automatically.

"Aw, come on. We both know that was perfect timing."

You find a liquor store pretty easy.

It's the shitty sort of place where the bulb behind the sign's been burnt out for years and there's a couple crack-whores in the alley behind it.

Which is perfect, because this is exactly the sort of place where they never even question a fake I.D. you grab a couple bottles of Johnnie Walker and head to the check-out.

You hear a voice behind you.

"Looks like you've had a rough day sweetheart. Need a good man inside you it looks like. Now Ole Mr Walker's a good friend of mine, but there's a better way to have fun than killing your liver."

Apparently, today giving 10 bikers the most savage beatings of their life isn't QUITE enough. one hand slowly begins to wrap around your knife as you turn around....

Behind you stands a man quite a bit taller than you. You're looking straight at his chest, and He's built like a boxer going for the heavy-weight belt.

Looking up at his face, you see a mocking sneer and a genuine smile in his eyes.

"Wassa matter baby? Never seen a real man before?"

"...." You slowly take your hand off your knife. "You know I'm a guy, right?"

    "And I'm Santa Claus."

"No really, I have a penis. You're hitting on a guy."

".... You know, if you're not interested, you can just say so. Don't have to lie to me. Ah well, I guess I did have paper-work that Alex has been getting at me to file. Later sweet cheeks." He gives you a firm slap on the ass, puts a small pallet of beer on his shoulder, and walks out the door, throwing a giant wad of cash at the guy managing the register as he walks by.

Yeah, you're going to need that drink.

At about 2:30 in the morning, you walk in to the mostly empty hangar, and find out from Mooch that everybody ran off on some rescue mission.

Looks like you're drinking alone then. You go and lock your self in your room, and hope this will be enough to keep you from dreaming.
