You arrive at Ryuu's bar, Johnny opens the door for you before you even knock.

"Good evening Hayate, back for lessons I see?"
"Yes Ryuu-san." You answer as you grab a stool.
"Okay, first things first." He says as he takes a small knife from under the bar."Take this and cut yourself."

You take the knife he has offered.
"excuse me, Ryuu?" you ask him perplexed, "Cut myself?"
"Yes. Do it however you want." he replies "But i want to see some blood."

"Ooookay..." you say as you comply, still confused with the command.
You take the knife and cut the palm of your left hand, wincing a little as steel bit into flesh.

"Okay, for your first lesson, i'll try and teach you how to make a potion that will heal light wounds."
he begins to explain as you hold a handkerchief to your bleeding hand.

He takes a shaker from under the bar and pours in some water from the tap.

"Alchemy, as I've explained to you the last time is the modification of materiel. Potion crafting goes beyond that. Potions are modified materiels that modify the states of whatever they are applied to."

He manipulates the shaker in his hands.
"Alchemy like most majaik are controlled by your subconscious. But, potions need to be willed into effectiveness."

He transfers the now blue liquid into a martini glass.
"And to will a potion into existence takes concentration and visualization. Emotions also play into this by allowing you to focus your minds eye. In the end, most potions are basically your emotions in liquid form."

"This healing potion uses me visualizing your wound getting better and my memories and feelings of a time when I also had a similar injury."
He then hands you the glass, and motions for you to drink it.

You drink the blue liquid, surprised to find it tasting a lot like a glass of tears.

You see your left hand glow, and feel a warmth rush through it. The scratches on your back also experience a similar warmth.

Taking the bloodsoaked handkerchief off, you find your hand healed as if nothing happened to it.

"Of course you know what I always say, Experience over Information." He says as he steps out from behind the bar and motions you in his place.

As you stand behind the bar, Ryuu takes the knife and runs it along the vein in his left forearm.

    "Now it's your turn"
    Blood begins to pour.

As you begin to panic at the absurd situation, Ryuu calmly directs you in what to do.

"Now Hayate, take some normal water and put it in any container. I just used the shaker because the motions help me to concentrate."

You take the shaker as well, and run it under the tap.

"Now as you agitate the water I want you to focus your majaik on to it. As you do so, i want you to think of my arm as it looked like healed."
Not wanting to fail your teacher you visualize the fuck out of his arm.
Ryuu feels the flow of majaik, "Good. Now Im sure you may not have had a similar wound to this that you can draw a memory on."
"So I want you to think back to any recent pain."

Your thoughts begin to shift to the feelings of when you found that letter from your parents. The crushing feeling of pain, betrayal and defeat. The realization that the world must be out to destroy you.

You pour your feelings into the potion you're making.

As you head out of the bar you bid farewell to Ryuu and Johnny.
You step out into the dimly lit corridor and spot the time on a clock in the wall.

He has more than once, gone on TARDIS assisted Holiday.

Once he bought tickets to an Opera. Six months in advance, to guarantee the good seats.

Then he stepped in and out of his Phone booth and went to the show.

Or the time he assembled a choir of talented musicians through time to serenade a dinner date with River.

Or the fact that he routinely replenishes his money supplies by betting on events he knows the outcome to.

Or the time when the stress of one situation got him so bad he checked out for a week to think it through and then came back two seconds after he left to finish fixing the problem.

These are all canon by the way.

First you pull out 'The Idiot's Guide to Alchemy"
'Too silly' you tell yourself as you put it back.
Then you pull out "Witches and Poes" Written by someone listed only as Kohaku. You put it aside for later.

Then you pull it out. A book bound in what appears to be greasy leather. On the front is what seems to be a stretched human face.
Horrid curiosity overcomes you, and you open it.

"Oh hello, you checking some books out?" She asks you.

"Only this one." You hand her Witches and Poes.
"I think the Librarian was looking for this one though." You say as you slip her the now silent screaming book.

"NECRY!" She says as she admonishes the horrific tome. "You got out of your cage again, you bad, bad boy!"

She binds the book with a couple of chains and a heavy padlock and slips it under the desk.
She then scans the other book and hands it to you.

"You have this book for 7 days. You can then return it or renew it." she then leans in close to whisper, "Please don't be like the doctor. We have records showing he has books 351 years overdue."

You take the book from her and head back out.

Inside you find the doctor fiddling with the levers on the clusterfuck in the middle of the room.

"Ah yes, Susan!" he tells you enthusiastically. "Right on time!"

"Uhhh did we have a prior appointment?" YOu ask him confused.
"Appointments are only for those that choose to be restricted by time." He tells you matter-of-factly.

He then leads you down a corridor and into pure white room with a white sofa in the middle.
On the sofa is a colander with random odds and ends stuck onto it.

"Now what I want you to do is sit there and put that on your head." he says as he gestures to the sofa. "I need the colander on your head for about six hours. Feel free to do anything as you're there."

Feeling quite silly about the whole prospect you decide to just do it.

You sit down and put the Strainer on your head, various bulbs on it light up and you even hear a small hissing sound.

You decide to make the best of the time you have and take out your book.
You read it and gain a little insight to the workings of alchemy and potions.

You continue reading on. As you turn to the fifth chapter, one about the caveats of improper potion crafting, you hear a steam whistle go off on top of the aparatus on your head.

A moment later River song walks into the room and herds you to the next test.

In the next room you find what appears to be a a massive teched out throne. Connected to it are bundles of sires and hoses. Pieces of parchment are stuck to it with seals of wax.

"Okay Dear, sit yourself down and visualize yourself reaching out to your home dimension." River explains to you. "This tests how far you can project your majaikal energy."

    You visualize your bike.
    Your trusty, old, blue bike.
You remember buying it after saving enough from washing dishes in a pub downtown.
How you managed to get employed as a bicycle messenger with it.
How, with your escape from your old house from the 'nice people', it was the only belonging you were able to take with you.
How you lovingly maintained it, and cared for it.

You visualize your bike as it sits in your mostly empty, run-down apartment.

    The picture clear as day.

"Okay lad, that's enough." You hear the Doctor say. "You look like you could use a break."

You step off the throne and touch your forehead. It's drenched in sweat.

River and and the doctor lead you to what looks like an exact replica of a living room for the early 60's. There's even an ancient-looking television set in one corner.

You sit down on the couch, and wipe your sweat with a handkerchief.
You remember that you've not talked to Jakob since the end of the Masquerade.

Ass you pull him out of the hat, the Doctor notices, the watch strapped to his back.

The Doctor takes the watch as you hand it to him after taking it off Jakob.

"What you have here is a genuine Cassiopeia."
    "Is it expensive?" you ask.
"My boy, people will pay dozens of galaxies for one of these,." he answers enthusiastically, "This here is a time machine."
"Not as good as mine though," He adds.

"Wait, so I can travel through time with it?"
"You could if it was functional." He answers.

"Can it be fixed?" You ask.

"Nope." he answers. "the best i could do is give it a fraction of it's old functionality back."
    "What do you mean?"
"Well, see here?" he mentions as he quickly unscrews the back "You have 5 of the 7 temporal cogs cracked. The flux capacitor is shot, and the warp linkage is broken."

he then begins to strip screws gears and springs out from it.
"Best i could give you is it's basic capability of stopping time. And even that would be heavily stunted. On just 2 gears, i can have you stop time for 60 seconds from your viewpoint."

He hands you the watch now missing a load of it's internal workings. "And hey, it tells time again."

You take the watch back from the doctor as he gives it back.
"That knob there stops time." He says as he points out one of the numerous knobs around the face of the watch. You consider pushing it. "DON'T Try it out in here though. Activating a temporal device in another temporal device is just asking for trouble."

You wisely decide to keep the watch for now and test it's capabilities later.
"So doc," you ask the Doctor "How many tests do we still need to do?"
"Oh I dont know. About 512 more I guess. You see your condition is a fairly odd one. One that I've never come across in all my travels."
The thought of 512 more tests daunts you.
"Don't worry though we can do the testing little by little. We have all the time in the world."

"Darling." River Song interrupts the Doctor. "Don't you think it's time for him to go back outside? It's getting quite late you know?"
"Late?! I DON'T KNOW THE MEANING OF THE WORD!"
"He still needs to get rested up though, he's no Energizer bunny llike you."
    "Ah, yes. Quite."

The two of them lead you back to the central room.
"Okay chap. Since we took too much time with the tests today, I'll throw you a bone and get you back to whatever time today that you want to get back to."
"Here's a warning though, you cant meet yourself back in time. Woudnt want any more time paradoxes like what happened 421 years from now."

    Yay, timemaid fighting is ago.

    Other things to consider:
    1) Can timestop be triggered in small amounts? 10sec, 30sec or continuous only?
    2) Recharge time
    3) If it affects things by touching, does this mean we can bring our teammates into timestop as well?
    4) Will (3) reduce timestop duration?

We'll need some combat practice with the team.

As it is we have ended up with a damn good power from it anyway so really the only reason someone would of been complaining would be that they just want to cry about it.

This probably goes with the tards who cried about the decision for our teammate earlier on which while it wasn't my choice I accepted because it was the closest we had to consensus.

Since you may never have another opportunity to experience time travel again in the near future, you decide to ask the doctor to drop you off to this morning to make the most of it.

The Doctor and River Song pull a few levers and tunr a few knowbs on the central console, you hear a weird WOOOOPWOOOP sound, the floor shakes slightly.
    And then it stops.

"Okay Susan. Here we are. 8:00am in the morning. YOu make sure to stay away from yourself."

You thank the Doctor and River for their time. As you head out the door River calls out to you.
"Susan, make sure to get some rest. Reliving a full day will be tiring. Oh. And remember to not change the past too much."

The door to the blue box closes behind you.

She knows we're with her sister more or less, now she's about to see what appears to be us with her, this will lead to emotional turmoil, and that way leads to progress.

That's why we should leave things as they are, altering the current timeline may end up preventing Ursula from seeing the video, which is what would have the largest impact possible.

instead we use the time to make personal progress, and deal with relationships in "real time" rather than confusing them in ways that we cannot readily fix.

If the timeline gets altered to that extent, it would result in a paradox so large that the universe would be destroyed. Any changes that we're going to make to the past have already been made by future-us. Ursula will see the tape. Erica will spend an angry lunch with us. We will see the doctor, get the watch fixed, and so forth. Any time scheme which doesn't work that way is logically impossible.

Your caution may destroy out change at a twincestuous threesome. This may be the act which guarantees it. Maintaining the status quo could lead to Ursula never working up to guts to actually get with us. You're making assumptions with no reason to have them. The time travel option will MORE PLAUSIBLY result in the twincest threesome - and be more interesting, to boot - than being cautious and cowardly. Sure, it could backfire. It could also work out just as we hope. We won't know unless we try.

If it's dumb, then so be it. It's also interesting, and the option that the majority of people were into. You're letting your caution blind you to the possibilities - not that it matters. We already have majority consensus, so we're going to do it any way. I would rather hear you present ideas of how to mitigate fuck-ups while doing this, rather than advocating courses of action entirely counter to the majority optinion.

Actually we have maybe 5 people in this thread right now, that's hardly a majority when the time comes for the actual thread to run.

You misspelled opinion, bro. But yeah, I have to agree. I would be really interested in cautious-anon's ideas in how to go about our intended time shenanigans safely rather than just hearing him advocate not doing it.

The majority of people agreed above, back when the idea was first presented. It had overwhelming support, save for by two, of which I expect you are one.

Not fuck around with romance options?

Seriously If you're juggling fragile items you don't want breaking adding more items is very counterproductive. Possible to do and succeed at? Yes, but it drastically increases the chance of dropping something.

I'd suggest messing with /other/ people and walk into rooms right after you've supposedly left for example.

Use the time to mess with Shirous room more, maybe refill the place he's already dug out with different fudge.

not really, the only thing agreed on was morning time travel, and that was a small number of people more than the "this evening before the alchemy lesson" people.

Then it more or less died for a couple of hours before I added my two cents.

Massage oil maybe? give Erica a surprise tonight?

Fuckers like you are going to end up getting us hurt, or the others in our team hurt.
Sometimes the best method of damage mitigation, is to not do the thing that causes the damage in the first place.

As for the specific situation that others seem to want, there's no way to know if Ursula is actually going to confess or not.
Having her confuse the security tape for that of herself and Susan is just stupid; it's a fucking security tape, it has a timestamp on it.

The best way to handle any confession from Ursula would be accept it, and apologize for what's going to happen in the future without being specific. And to then ask her to not speak of this encounter to our past-self, in order to avoid a time paradox.

This, I wholly agree with, and is roughly how I hope a pre-lunch encounter with Ursula would go. If she doesn't confess her feelings, we should still do the rest of it.

Considering how everyone else was acting?
We're going to try to find Ursula in an elevator.

And this is when we should be going into town to find some massage oil for Erica tonight, or getting some rest because we've already experienced a full day, or Hell, getting Erica some black tulips (Hartmann's signature).

No, we were never suggesting finding her in an elevator. What the fuck are you talking about? We were talking about going and talking to her before class in the hope that the plot lines up in such a way that she confesses her feelings for us. What the fuck did you think we had been talking about? My nap was great, by the way.

Except they're wrong about a "majority" there where only 4 or 5 people talking about the issue, and at least two of us didn't want to talk to Ursula, maybe 3 with the tripfag saying their opinion was more of a "what if we run into her anyways" thing.

Still think the idea is dumb
    >girl likes guy
    >girl confesses feeling for guy
    >girl is forced to confront inescapable evidence of the fact that the guy is well and truly into her sister.

I really don't see why you think it's a good course of action.

And where were you planning on intercepting her?
She goes down to R&D, which is accessed via the elevators. Therefore, the most likely place to meet her without meeting with ourselves and causing a time-paradox would have been either the elevators down into R&D, or in R&D itself.
R&D itself is a bad location simply because of the researchers there and we don't know the area.
