    Wraithtaur Reaper
This dark creature with a strong humanoid torso and limbs and body that seem to be made of dark, dense black smoke creeps in swamps and the banks of rivers during foggy nights, looking to caught lost travelers in order to feed on their vitae. They do so like a vampire, sucking the victims blood, usually after strangling them to death.

    Man-eating Carnaplant:
the Carnaplant is a dangerous plant-like amphibious creature that lurks into shallow and muddy bodies of water. It can disguise itself as a innocent, floating water plant, or simple lay down open with underwater, and when anything passes through it, it closes and drag the prey to a deeper spot, where it can stay days resting, digesting it. The mouth is also his stomach once closed and the gastric acids are so strong this creature can even digest metal, making adventurers a fully enjoyable meal.

    Nightfist:
This halfling sized bat-like creature lives usually in forests on a temperate climate. They are smart, almost to the point of sentience, and use their grappling skills, huge muscular arms and point teeth to grab their prey and beat the living hell out of them. They enjoy wrestling with humanoid creatures, and sometimes they even seem to seek contests of strength when they encounter a rival they think its worth it. Usually when the victim is defeated they may broke its neck and feed on its flesh, or simply let it go if the fight was good enough. One of the few creatures that has evolved to punch instead of slashing with claws. With deadly results. Also called Bat-boxers.

    Shadeworm
This abyssal being is a lesser demon, usually manifesting itself on the material plane when there is plagues and deceased widespread. They feed on deceases and it thus some people don't think as it as a bad omen. What many don't know is that he also emanates negative energy, and the more he feeds, the quicker the land and living things around him start to weaken and die. When such being is sighted, slaying or banishing it must be a priority

if you're using photoshop then use the pencil tool instead of brush. It uses non-antialised hard edges.

Also if you've got illustrator you could sketch the linework in photoshop then copy/paste in to illustrator and use the livetrace tool to turn it to vectors to kind of smooth shit out. Then copy it back in to photoshop (disabling anti aliasing) to get crisp, hard edges.

    Rock-jaw
Or mountain bug, as it is called, is a six feet tall creature, with a thick carapace and vestigial wings. But it's most known feature is the wide, powerful jaw, capable of breaking through bone, rock or metal with ease. This creature usually roams the mountains and caves, although never too deep, and can live on flesh, or a special kind of fungus found on rocks. He can swallow small pieces of stone, and then digest the fungus or moss around it. Also he can throw this pieces up and a defense mechanism. If a rock its to big for it's mouth, but has delicious fungus on it, usually the Rock-Jaw breaks it and swallow anyway. The vestigial wings main purpose are seducing a potential partner. But it can be used in water to swim along with it's tail, although they keep to the shallow parts of any lake of river since their carapace is heavy and swimming can be tiring.

    Black Skinner
also called Tentacle-Surprise, this monstrous aberration eats its victims insides grows inside its skin, using its numberless tentacles to control the body. Although incapable of talking like a regular humanoid creature, the beast can understand the common and abyssal language, and even mimic facial expression. It's usually disguise as a innocent women so to take its victims guard down. If it cannot strangle the victim on it's sleep, the beast relies on using it's multiple tentacles to grapple the target or wielding weapons. When the tentacle surprise feels endangered, it's releases a black smoke curtain and perform a quick escape, if possible, living the empty skin of its disguise behind.

    Sparky Imp
This small creature is as dangerous as it's curious. For a reason no one seems to understand, Sparky Imps are attracted to explosive, flammable and alchemical materials. The problems start when the sparks that constantly shoots from their antlers or tails fall on such things. The fiery, explosive results often kill or injury the sparky imp very much, but they don't seem to learn. Sparky imps are also annoying magnetized, causing certain metals to be repelled to it. What makes them harder to hit with most metallic weapons, and specially arrows. Sparky imps are not aggressive, and usually live in groups of ten to fifteen individuals. If attacked, they will usually swarm the target and bite their legs, also causing electric damage. If they are losing a fight, the see no shame in running away, just to come back and throw stones. The best thing to do, most of times, is give them what they want, throwing explosives in the middle of the group.

Okay so this may not be the right thread for it but starting another thread would be a waste as well.
So me and a friend started working on a homebrew scifi rpg system, that's a could be described as a mix between mass effect, halo and metroid (zero suits, upgradable armour and biotics, push, heave and throw powers, etc.) and now we need to come up with races.
Now I've started drawing some close-up's of some creatures, who could be used as playable races.

Long story short: Please give me some critique if you'd like.
Sorry again for unsig this thread like that.

    Boom-Goo
The name comes from the obvious fact that this green ooze creature explode in contact with fire. This would not trouble adventurers so much, if not by the fact that it's capable of duplicating itself when cut, and the new ones can explode in chain reaction if one is destroyed with fire, making this the sort of creature you might wanna try to strike down quickly. The boom-goo usually hides itself in the form of puddles or inside empty walls. In order to attack, it pass as a dense liquid through any whole or space between bricks or stones of a wall, and surprise its victim in close combat, trying to involve it in order to digest.

    Devourer Doll
At first sight, it looks like a doll made of branches and cloth, the kind of thing a peasant girl would easily pick up and take home. Or a kindhearted man would bring to the village to ask who lost it. Or a father would bring to his daughter. And then the horror begin. When everyone is asleep, the doll branches animate and grow to form twisted hands, and it use its sharp points to strike vital organs in precise strikes. For some reason, the creator of such an cruel creature design it for no killing kids, so the greatest threat is to parents and older brothers. Usually the surviving kid is considered guilty of her parents murder and tagged crazy and dangerous. This killing toy can be used for evil men to isolate an heir to a noble house, killing the progenitors, or making a child alone in the world, so it will be a perfect target for kidnap without raising suspicious. It's sad that the a hairs on the doll are made of child's hair.

    Walking Leech
If the treat of leeches in a swamp is enough to keep the folk out of water, the treat of Walking leeches is what it takes to make them move to a more reasonable location. With thin legs and black eyes, this vermin usually crawl from the water over the body of creature that swims by, attaching themselves were they find a better sucking position. The tiny limbs also make them able to grab, making it even harder to remove, despite their small size. Once on water, they can swim very quickly away from grasp, climb trees and roots just to jump over the victim and feed. They usually live in swarms with no less than a hundred individuals and when food is scarce, they can even being seems walking towards a new habitat, if there is a nearby lake, murky pool or swamp that seems more promising.

    Lady of Hunger
Like the Shadeworm can sometimes manifest itself where there is a great concentration of decease and squalor, the Lady of Hunger is a lesser demon that spawns on the presence of gluttony and hunger both, usually when they are combined (Nobles feasting and wasting food while peasants starves is the more frequent scenario). She appears to be a pregnant woman with tentacles for legs, but both her belly and her lower body have mouths big enough to swallow a dog without chewing. The Lady of Hunger eats everything that lives, but prefer flesh, human when available. She is always hungry, and wont stop eating not even to fight, as she can do both as the same thing. Grappling creatures with her tentacles, she rips them apart and feeds the parts to her monstrous mouth, and still have her hands and human mouth free to cast spells to paralyses her victims or keep them from running. Every time she eats, her body recover any physical wound instantly, the amount of recovery being based on what she ate and how much. Sentient creatures devoured wholes can make her restore fully, and even grow.

    Skullpio
The Skullpio is a undead bug-like creature, with the size of an average cow, just a lot heavier. The Skullpio feeds on rotting corpses and usually they are found in battlefields when people don't remove the dead after the fight. Skullpios can also dig cemeteries and tombs in search of good food, they are particularly attracted to dead spell-casters, and a tomb of a powerful mage will surely being visited by one if not properly protected. The skullpio don't like the living, and attacked them at sight, using it's both 'skull-tails' as flails to slam the enemy to the ground, or as claws, biting and grabbing them. The carapace is thick enough to offer protection even from steel weapons, and their magical diet can give them a certain resistance to magic, making them a foe to be respect, at the very least. The Skullpio can also spray acid from the throats of it's two tail-heads, and they bite is poisonous due to the amount of bacteria that resides on it's teeth. The smell alone of it can be nauseating and make it hard to focus on combat. His weak point is positive energy and obviously, the three eyes it presents, one in the center and one for each skull.

    Kepoo
The Kepoo is a small bird, very commonly found in forests. The Kepoo may reassemble and owl, but it's a day-time bird. It's incapable of flying and thus, it uses its clawed wings to climb trees and 'glide' from branch to branch. The Kepoos are sociable birds, and can easily mimic any rhythm they like with a whistle like sounds, make them excellent pets. Using feeding on big insects, mice and similar, Kepoos can also eat fruit and fish, when they have the chance. They are attracted to shining and colorful things, which they use to display or their nests to attract a potential partner. A funny thing about this birds is that they are not territorial, and if the nest is carried away somehow, they follow the nest to wherever it go. A floating log with a pile of scissors, forks and dyed cloth is probably being closed chased by a desperate Kepoo. One that intent to keep a Kepoo as a pet can carry his nest and gift him with shiny objects, and the Kepoo wont objects being dragged underground or sleeping indoors. Just don't expect them to respect property.

    Fly-Hunter
This sphere like plant is a common sight on jungles and hot climates. Feeding on insects and mosquitoes, the Fly-Hunter don't stand there with it's mouth open and wait. It's chases and catch the insects middle hair with it's straw-like, three-pointed tongue. The fly hunter help parasites insects populations at a healthy level, so killing it is considered a bad thing, but it can become rather aggressive when step on. Usually the fly-hunter fights bigger creatures with poisoned bites and surprise attacks, run-hide-strike techniques. It's doesnt matter much when a good kick can send them flying away easily. But and adventurer should know those plants are very stubborn and wont give up the fight until they are killed, capable of chasing a 'prey' for miles and miles, and waiting for distraction to jump-bite them.

    Hipodile
The Hipodile received that name as it was seem as a hybrid from a pink hippopotamus with a crocodile. Of course the people of old never stop to ask themselves if there was any pink hippopotamus and why would they mate with a giant reptile. Whatever it's origins, the Hipodile is a river mammals, as big as a Hippo, and just as ferocious. The point teeth are a very clear sign of a carnivorous beast, and they are not misleading. The hipodile prefer eating things like Gnus, gazelles and sometimes a giraffe, but they won't mind adding humans on their diet if given the chance. They strike their prey on surprise by emerging from the water and trying to grab the victim on its powerful jaws, them proceed to drag them underwater and wait for it to drown. If the fight is necessary, the choose to charge with open mouth, or using they thick skull bone as a ram to knock the victims off their feet. Hipodiles come from hot climates, always live on riversides, in families, normally a male, a female and their young. A Hipodile mother is a force of nature to be feared if he thinks her babies are under any kind of danger. Beware, it wouldn't be foolish to decide to cross the river on the next ford if you see them basking in the sun next to your crossing point.

    Golden Poogoo
The golden poogoo is the yellow version of the Regular Poogoo. More docile and less likely to bite your finger with his toothless mouth, the function of the Poogoo on the nature is unclear. Some say it's hawk food, some say it's how the gods can show us they are real and like cute stuff too. The Poogoo is a mammal, the smallest of them all, and it's fur make it looks sphere shaped, hiding it's short legs underneath it. The long head fur they present is used a socialization mechanism between them, signalizing emotions as a dog's ears or a cat's tail. A erect head fur means happiness, and shaking it sideways means he's agitated, excited. When the hair is down, it probably means he's scared, or sad, and you should hold it and never EVER let it go. Poogoos feed on love, care and seeds.

Legend tells of a small bird who possessed a nest on a tree. One day, a man came to the tree and began speaking with the bird.

"Oh bird," the man requested, "please, teach me the ways of your nest. My master said that if I learn the ways of nature, I may become the strongest warrior, both from without and within."

The bird was naturally intrigued by the man's request. It flew down to the lowest branch and chirped to him.

"My nest is the simplest of all my brethren. No woman wishes to come to me, for my nest is so bland. However, I will make an offer. If you teach me the ways of a warrior, I will teach you how I make my nests."

The two trained each other. During the day, the man would instruct the bird in the ways of stealth, tactics, and perseverance. During the night, the bird would test the man's ability to build a simple nest by no other sensation other than trained instinct.

Eventually, the day came when the two parted ways. The man became one of the great heroes of the land, his strength and destruction tempered by a need to foster and flourish. The bird, with his newly gained strength, fucked all the bitches.

    The end. :3

Ancient legends tell of a man who, in order to become a famous hero, sold his soul to one of the Seven Demon-Kings of Hell. The demon granted his wish, and turned him into the Great Bird-Warrior Beak. After many years of adventuring, the Demon-King came to collect his dues, but his plan backfired- Beak's wish had made him unstoppable to any evil creature, including the King to which he owed his soul.
To this day, Beak wanders the world, unable to die as no creature has claims to his soul, either God nor Demon, and he waits patiently for the end, always stopping to save others in peril when he happens upon them.

    Crag Yeti
Technically not a Yeti, Sasquatch, or any sort of naturally occurring creature whatsoever; but a magical beast that was created, and then forgotten. It seems to haunt the rocky areas of which it blends best into. While it does not seem to have an apparent mouth, examples of this creature are found to have a stomach, of which has broken down rock, sedimentary dust, and some iron-laden rocks- which they seem to feed on. Their horns are made of purified metals- which may cause a layered effect or solid metals, depending on that in their home, making their horns a valuable commodity.

Funnelsloth: These docile creatures make their homes in humid, tropical rain forests. They posses great upper-body strength, allowing them to effortlessly traverse the limbs of soaring trees. Few other large animals exist in this environment, but a plethora of insect species thrive in the muggy air and still pools of water. The odd horn-like growths that project from the funnelsloth's head emit a sweet odor that attracts the insects, who climb down the hollow space in to pools of sticky digestive juices. These miniscule meals provide little energy, but funnelsloths have an extremely slow metabolism, allowing it to make the most of the meal. This also causes the funnelsloth to be extremely slow moving and lethargic, as well as incredibly long lived. While not normally a threat to adventures, some have taken to hunting them for their horns and odor glands.

Shadowlurk- A common pest found in the homes of many commoners and royals alike. It tends to hide in the shadows that augment it's natural camouflage, and preys on small animals and children until it grows large enough to eat heftier meals, such as adult humans. Simple magic or a heavy rock generally is enough to kill these creatures, although some people have found them to make cute pets if you have the time to yank out all their teeth on a monthly basis so as to avoid being eaten.

Blackgrin: These shadowy fey creatures accompany sentient beings; acting as some sort of familiar. However, they are not often beholden to the wishes of their masters. Technically they form a pact with their target, and agree to aid them. This aid often takes the form of mischievous pranks, although they are almost invariably fatal. It is not uncommon for them to appear out of thin air to push an unfortunate victim down long flights of stairs, or down deep chasms. Such pranks please the twisted sense of humor that these creatures posses. it is always a risk when trying to bind one of these beings to your will, as their capricious nature means you can never be sure when you will end up on the receiving end of their mischief.

    Roademon.

Demons take many forms. This particular demon finds joy in the abandoned remains of machinery; as a result, these demons are usually found the ruins of advanced civilizations or junkyards. For a time, the pile of junk festers, searching for appropriate pieces to add to its collection. The demon's main goal is to break its mechanical body in the most insane, blazing manner possible. These demons are highly dangerous for their lack of self-reservation makes them difficult to judge.

You are a god among men. I used that creature in a game today, so I'll write what I have on him.

    Shadow Devil.

There is little room in Hell for self-rule, so a few devils decide to check other realms for open spaces and souls to use and command; the Shadow Devil is no exception. Upon finding a small plane of use, it will attempt to simultaneously corrupt and sway the plane's owner through a wide manner of tricks. The Shadow Devil is naturally amorphous and incorporeal, relying on its easily adjustable shape to fool its victims. They are naturally weak, but physical attacks have a good chance to simply pass through them. When confronted with a strong host, the Shadow Devil will dismiss his form, travelling in pseudo-invisibility while taunting his target. When the target has opened itself, it assaults the target in an attempt to possess it. Upon being defeated, the Shadow Devil is returned to hell, but the Shadow Devil will most likely attempt to escape again once their master's punishment is over.

While necromancy may not be illegal, it is often looked upon with fear and revulsion in rural villages. People just don't take kindly to raising Old Gran from her eternal slumber. As a work-around, young necromancers often ply their trade on smaller, more discreet subjects. It isn't unusual for adventurers to discover entire barns populated with panicked, postmortem poultry. Thought most necromancers tend to move onto bigger and better undead minions, some still keep a reanimated chicken or two around as a convenient source of food.

While I can't draw anything on my phone at the moment, I would enjoy a Tonberry dressed like a Vietnam soldier, "Born to kill" helmet and a machine gun with it's signature butcher knife as a bayonet.
