IT CAME FROM BENEATH THE DEPTHS!

    TG QUEST!!!

    Last Thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/17664704/

Short Summary: You have arrived at what you thought would be a routine stabilization mission and instead found the Arch-SUE, Sapphirius. You have managed to both get your away team of Spike Spiegal, Gabriel Tosh, and the Sandmen imprisoned, but they are in the process of breaking out. However, you have also laid a trap for your prey, the SUEs Sapph and El. As the portal book they were dwelling within activates, Cheryl attempts to contact Tosh. Meanwhile, the two humanoids coming through the portal are cast into the void of space.

"They're starting to break out!" Cheryl reports, closing her eyes. "Without the SUEs, Tosh is pretty confident they can manage."

The two humanoid figures resolve themselves into two humans with bizarre hair and clothing, choking in the airless void of space. The woman of the two begins to shine with sapphire light, her form growing and changing into something else.

The man simply begins clawing at his throat and trying to breathe.

    All reality emitters to maximum!
The fields were pre-calculated to interlock and create a field of intense reality.

Now, while things are paused, are we going to kill them both now, or wait for Spike and Tosh to make it through the book?

I think we should kill the SUE's now. We have no idea which of their powers are still effective within the reality field, and I don't want to take a chance that they could actually hurt us.

We can retrieve our away team in a week when we get the Meta coordinates.
    >> Not completely retarded 02/02/12(Thu)20:36 No.17781902
Reality emitters at full, targeted on the SUES, Overlap the fields if it will strengthen the effect.
We're stuck fighting these now, great work.
Target the book with a tractor beam or teleporter if it's safe to teleport, and get it away from the SUES so we can safely fire on them
If we cant target the book with tractor beams or teleporters, push it out of the way with a remote controlled drone or shuttlecraft, rigged to be blown up at a moments notice.

The book is in the containment bay of the Storm.

We ejected these two out into open vacuum so they could be fired upon without problems.
Read a little more carefully so that your name is actually somewhat accurate.

    >>17781794
    it's go time.

crank reality emitters to full, and FIRE EVERYTHING.

Unfortunately, since certain individuals went herp derp, we're in something of a bind. We have to kill the SUEs, but when we do, the book portal will close, stranding our chaps in KHland (which we don't have coordinates to). Ask Cheryl if she thinks she can still contact tosh if there isn't a reality distortion linking the two worlds, or at least give enough of a reading we can get a trace, and pass along the message for the team to either a) prepare to be sucking hard vacuum and prep accordingly, or b) steal the book and go into hiding if for whatever reason, they can't get through before we kill the SUEs.
    >> Anonymous 02/02/12(Thu)20:44 No.17782005
Barring a truly clever suggestion, I only see two options at this time:
    1) Reality emitters to full, and begin firing all the guns.
    or
    2) We flee with the book, denying the SUE access to that canon while we get our troops free and re-group for another attempt. If the SUE's have other means of reaching the book's canon then this won't be so useful.

Given where we are starting out right now, I think we should at least try fighting and see what the results are after a few moments.

Is there anything we can teleport in to make their lives more difficult than vacuum? Maybe teleport in a quantity of hazardous gas, so they breath that in while gasping for air?
    >> Not completely retarded 02/02/12(Thu)20:45 No.17782018
    >>17781928
My aplologies, i didn't see that in the post, if that's the case, restore atmosphere to the containment bay with the book so our troops don't have to deal with vacuum if they make it through while we're dealing with the SUEs.

    >>17781969
Maybe if we only kill the stronger of the two we can leave the other one alive, dying in vacuum for a few minutes while the team makes their escape?

    What do you think?

Instead of firing our weapons and killing them immediately, we could try targeted offensive transporter use from the Indefatigable.

In other words, use a transporter lock to dematerialize, say, the SUE's arms and legs, and scatter their atoms across subspace.
Mess up some of their internal organs.
Make them no longer able to adequately focus or fight back, and prolonging the time that they are alive so that our away team has a chance to reach the book and escape.
    >> Anonymous 02/02/12(Thu)20:50 No.17782054
We may want to use the teleporter to allow that one guy who's suffocating to live. Does our sensors recognize who he is? We can stick him in our brig for now.

    >>17782018
Sapphirius is likely the one that's powering the portal books, seeing as she's the stronger one.
If we're going to try to wait until our away team is clear, then we need a way to incapacitate and weaken her, like with the Royal Pain at then end, without killing her outright.

Carbon monoxide might work if we can get our hands on some of it: at 12,800 ppm (1.28% of air composed of Carbon Monoxide) - Unconsciousness after 2-3 breaths. Death in less than three minutes.

If we can get even 2% of the air in an area to that amount, we can teleport that over them, they breath it in, fall unconscious. Theoretically.
    >> Anonymous 02/02/12(Thu)20:57 No.17782127
    >>17782085
Gases would dissipate far too quickly to be of use; this is open space, after all.

Besides, the figures given for human survival in vacuum are just as good.
Unconsciousness in 15 to 30 seconds, death by 1 minute.
However, Sapphirius is able to survive open vacuum, so there's that, too.

    >>17782100
I would peg our chances of any kind of diplomacy working to be negligible to none. It's a SUE, not a person.
As for beaming a sedative into their bloodstream, given SUE physiology, I don't know if a sedative would work.
    >> Not completely retarded 02/02/12(Thu)20:59 No.17782141
We cant diplomacy our way out of this, can we?
Maybe we could try keeping them alive but sedated, to buy our team more time?
Maybe we could teleport a sedative into them, beaming them into a remote controlled shuttlecraft or a containment cell once we confirm that it works, so we can kill them when needed, but keep them unconsious until then?

I don't want to write off our heroes, but we may have to if it's their lives or killing the SUEs.

OK, thinking more about this. We have a Federation starship, can our replicators just make Carbon Monoxide? We just need about 1 cubic foot of it, then we seal off a room somewhere, teleport that in, then wait a few moments, teleport that whole room's worth of air onto the SUEs.

    Thoughts?

Restore atmosphere, so we can possibly negotiate. The addition of airborne tranquilizers can wait a moment. My understanding of these two are that they are more like retarded children than objectively hostile beings. They can be played into our traps later, but if they start cranking up the power level, it gets that much harder.

    >>17782145
We're working with vacuum here, but that might work if we put in a container of some sort to prevent it from immediately dissipating.
I'd prefer to hit them with the gas, the sedative, and possibly more at once.

At the moment they are probably confused about being in space, they might stay in a room filled with what seems to be air (at least for a few seconds) if we put one around them. Then when they take a few breaths, or the sedative takes effect, they pass out and we get a little more time to save our troops.

Can we rig the inde for another reality beam?

Completely unnecessary. By the time that the order is given, the carbon monoxide replicated, and then transported, the guy will be unconscious and Sapphirius is unaffected by vacuum or other environmental conditions or toxins.

We can use targeted transporter use to simply rip half of Sapphirius out, and keep her alive but unable to attack long enough for our away team to reach the book and return.

No, the Indefatigable cannot try the reality beam again. The last time almost blew it up.

Uploading part of a SUE into the teleporters could be bad if they maintain SUE Cohesion while in data-form. Still, if we can separate Sapph from her boyfriend, we can get him choked out sufficiently for 'dealing with'.
    >>17782229
Logic and Discourse are -completely- separate. We can keep them talking (from a distance, so that SUE Field doesn't fuck us up), and get ready for something bigger.

    >(cont.)

Also, there's the fact that we just shunted them out into vacuum and are about to fire weapons that suppress their powers. If I had godlike powers and someone did that to me real sudden-like, I would be predisposed to kicking SOMEONE'S ass after that. Unless I was Superman or something, which I am not.

Let's see if we can abuse teleporters to trivialize this encounter!

OP, would it be possible to lock on to individual body parts of targets and transport them to another location? We could attempt to transport various internal organs to locations where they can't reach them.

    I am voting:
Let the guy die in vacuum, and use offensive transporter usage to rip parts of Sapphirius out of her and dissipate them across subspace.
Take out her arms, legs, and a good chunk of her digestive system. Kidneys and liver if they can get a transporter lock on just those organs.

jesus, does anyone remember what the original plan WAS?

Talk about a clusterfuck. I hope the people who invented this plan are proud of themselves. We have to make the kill NOW. hopefully the SUEs were blown into space, therefore we can repressurize the bay and our personnel can come back through while we blast them to kingdom come.

To be honest, I think we missed some opportunities with the KH verse. We picked up stupendous amounts of loot from LOTR, did we not? But we seem to have focused upon just killing these SUEs without much planning in mind. Using the ships should be an exception, not a rule.

The plan right now is to have Tosh, Spike, and the Sandmen that were sucked into the KH canon hide out there until we can finish making a Psionic Link-to-Coordinates converter. It will take about a week for that to happen.

Spike/Tosh and the Sandmen can still receive orders from us via Cheryl during that time, however. We can still probably coordinate them and have them gather information on possible leads on other reality distortions in that canon, or going and beseeching Mickey for help after the SUE's control over the inhabitants fade.

Or, if we REALLY want to be gruesome...

We could start teleporting in copious amounts of corrosive liquid elements into Sapph. An acidic mixture contains no water for her to manipulate with her elemental powers, and it does not *burn* in the same way fire does (negating/bypassing her elemental resistance). If we can replicate copious amounts of such an acidic substance (or some other inert nonwater liquid), then start teleporting it en masse into Sapph's internal form, we could cause her to burst and/or burn.

Cheryl, ask Tosh if the book has lost its distortion field. If it has, he and the rest of the away team are to recover their gear and escape, then hide and lay low until we can get their Meta-Coordinates and retrieve them.

There were two targets, the third reality distortion being the portal book itself.
We eliminated the two SUE's, Sapphirius and El, and the book being linked to Sapph should no longer emit a reality distortion field.

If the book is still generating a field, then Sapph is still alive. But if not, then according our scientists, that would indicate that she's dead.

That means that she would know that someone had been snooping around, so even if we brought it back to her room, she would know someone with powerful magic was on to her.
I suggested we send a couple hundred securitrons after her in an attempt to make her think that that was the enemy forces, and thus lower her guard for future assassination tactics, but other people thought that she wouldn't fall for it.

If we hit her with her own sword which is described as "...most specialized powerful blade known the Sapphiasus, which contained the same powers as her own" it might be possible to seriously harm or defeat her. It IS a very risky move however.

Once again the area around Sapph is torn apart by explosions and a multicolor lightshow as Sapph explodes from her icy prison with a roar swallowed up by the void of space. When the bombardment ceases, she is no longer there, but this time an alert crewmember manages to track her. She teleported away from most of the bombardment, and this is probably how she survived the first time. Thanks to the Zero Cannon's freezing, she did not react quite swiftly enough this time... the crewman notes she has a few wounds on her.

Have the Indefatigable and the two Al'Kesh get a lock on Sapph, and when she attempts to teleport again, have them initiate their own attempts to beam her away. The interference from the 3 teleporation systems should interrupt her attempt to teleport, and maybe destroy her at best. That should prevent her from getting away from the Lance.

is it wrong I've thought of a few steps we missed?
1)auror ambush make them think they're where they're expecting to come out, then hit them with a barrage of stun spells from cloaked aurors. Stick them with bubble-head charms along with silence and invisibility, and you can go for the send them into space plan if that doesn't work. Hell, have snipers lined up as well, especially if the illusion is one-way.
    2) GIVE 'EM THE STICK!
have Char on standby with the lance of longinus. If he can stab them with it while they're disorientated from the myriad curses and jinxes not to mentioned decompression, then our job is much easier
    3) FIRE EVERYTHING
If they aren't dead from one and two, THEN we hit them with everything we've got.

I'd have mentioned this before now, but I only really started thinking like this after the SNAFU that was bootlegquest the first.

Hmm. Cheryl can probably use her immense MIND POWERS/general godlike powers or such to delivera MIND CRUSH to disorient or turn the SUE into a vegetable. Or perhaps to aid our targeting systems so it'd be easier to hit Sapph with our capital-class weapons. Or provide shielding in case the SUE attempts to counterattack.

I'm unfamiliar with Psions/Abjurers, though. I'm not exactly sure how they could help in a space battle like this. Wall of ectoplasm could also help mitigate damage to a certain location if the SUE counterattacks (likely, given our low roll right now).

The plan involved using mind control to have people of the opposite sex flirt with the two enough to create jealousy and deteriorate the relationship. Yes, there might be some S.U.E. mindlink nonsense at play, but a full assault against them in space should have been the last option against them, and trying to create such friction, even if it fails, should have at least been attempted. If Saph kills El? Now we have one less S.U.E. to worry about and the remaining one is possibly mentally traumatized from killing the other. It makes a lot more sense than the final option we are currently underway with.

Now Dimensional Anchor will prevent us from performing Transporter Code 14 attacks, but it also means that she can't teleport away from our other attacks.

Sapph's body is blasted into atoms by the bombardment, and the portal book in the containment bay suddenly bursts into flame, burning to ash in the span of a few seconds.

The Storm's sensors confirm the dissipation of El and Sapph's reality distortions... but a new one is rapidly growing as a rift in space and time begins to tear itself open in the area around where Sapph was just vaporized. Warning klaxons begin to sound as the new distortion grows at a meteoric pace, a gigantic clawed hand reaching through...

Ebon Night wasn't exactly going easy on us. But he was doing a lot of unnecessary shit for kicks, and he was a shadow of his former self due to fleeing from many pantheons of super-angry deities, and expending MORE power on acquiring powerful evils and seeding the canon with it. Including things that could be used to defeat him.

So okay, he might have been going easy on us, or was so confident in his power that he focused on the "grand experiment" instead of his own recovery.

It doesn't matter what other methods we used to kill Sapph.

I have some good news everyone!
It seems that as time passes, Sapphirus actually became less powerful instead of more.
Like for her 2009 incarnation, those rainbow gems actually help her manage her power, and are actually necessary to use them, she's rubbish at direct combat, and using her most powerful attacks causes her to lose all her powers for 24 hours.
Of course, that's only in her humanoid form, and I've been unable to find what can cause her to transform and revert from her Final (True) form.

When you open the door to Holtz's office, you see several empty booze bottles lined up against one wall. On the opposite side of the room are a line of golf balls. Holtz, driver in hand, is intently lining up a shot as you walk in.

"Oh hi, erstwhile employees of mine," Holtz says, his tone bitter. He swings the club and the golf ball flies through the air, shattering what was once a bottle of wine. "I just got some GREAT news. Are you here to give me more GREAT news?"

Since it's wait until OP posts interstitial time right now....

Since one iteration of The Nameless One is working for HR, they might have this guy dicking around in some storage area where he can't do his *WARRIOR OF JUSTICE* schtick. Could also be useful.

But I'm not sure if Sapphirus has done anything so far to trigger ULTRA JUSTICE MODE, and we probably don't want this guy to JUSTICE UP to Sapphirus' level. That would essentially leave us with a net progression of zero.

You know SapphyDracas? The horrible rainbow-colored maximumSUE?
She's dead! And so's her boyfriend!
She was using some type of book to influence the Kingdom Hearts world, but the books are destroyed.

    Now:
We need a way to get some of our dudes out of that KH world, since they were stuck there when the book exploded.

Oh, and SapphyDracas's dad, Sapphirus, was summoned. Send in the Green Legion.

    >Weapons: The Sapphiasius, a huge epic blade fused from her powers together, fighting it alone would be like fighting another her, but this weapon is only used in emergencies, then she has to deal with..physical fighting ugh...

    >STATISTICS

    >Speed: XXXXXXXXXXXXXX (Sonic eat your heart out)

    >Accuracy: XXXXXXXXXX (Pretty good with her targets)
    >Wisdom: XXXXXXXX (She's pretty clever in battle)
    >Stamina: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (lol just say unlimited)

    >Control Gems: These are found all over Sapph's body in order of the rainbow. The gems help Sapph contain her elemental powers. (She hasn't mastered controlling her powers yet, she overloads so she has these)

    >Tails: These are BOTH her physical Defense and offense of her body besides her wings. One tail is usually hidden or insvisible. Sapph has NO control over these limbs. They respond depending on her emotions or type of reactive moments to a situation. The hidden one is more aggresive ans is to strike without warning if Sapph is threatened by something. (This is what makes Sapphirus also a Chimera species added)

Or not, there's no good way to break this type of news.

We managed to wipe out the SUEs in the sector we visited. Unfortunately, in the wake of one of their deaths, they managed to summon something that even our most belligerent and orky and soccer-fan members agree that it was a good time to retreat.

If it's worth considering, maybe we should have some science guys look at the ash leftover from the portal book. It may still be charged with residual portal energy, and may leave a clue about the coordinates of the KH canon.

Also, the Magical Kingdom is linked to Traverse Town, which is basically a Disney version of Sigil. There's got to be some TG staff members who were recruited from the KH canons, perhaps they know a way of how to invoke a portal or spell to transport a person directly to Traverse Town and/or the Magical Kingdom.
