The Institute is on the verge of creating a mass transmission that will turn all synthetics back into mindless slaves and agents. The railroad, concerned with Synthetic rights and equality, want to prevent this from happening, but some more extreme groups oppose both the Railroad and the Institute.
A cell of rogue synths and AI's have banded together to create the Network (who would probably be the overarching antagonists) who believe that mankind's time is over, and its their time to rule. They, of course, are incredibly powerful, but few in number, so they manipulate lesser factions (Harvard mutants, Runners, Raiders) into raiding and weakening the Commonwealth's human population as a whole, and want to sabotage the transmission to create a collectivist society devoid of any individuality, human or machine.
Finally, Salem's Hunters are vehemently opposed to any technology, and like Caesar's Legion, want to destroy it all, synths, transmission, and common wealth, and set the world back to the good old days, thinking that the Apocalypse gave them the chance to change society, rather than repeat what they perceive to be the mistakes of the past.
Climax is trying to invade the Institute, fighting back the rest of the factions, and turning off the transmission. (Or if you're with the Institute, defending it from the invaders)eding with a fight against Network SUPER MECH (ala Liberty Prime) |
