...You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?

    TG Quest.

    Last thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/17468187/

When the light recedes, you find yourself on soft grass. Scattered around are the other members of the command crew, along with most of your ground troops. The psychic team is noticeably absent, as are the mechs.

Looking around, you see a castle, buildings in the distance. A mountain rises under some of them. There are a lot of clouds too. A lot of clouds. It takes you a moment to realize you and your men are on a floating island.

We'll do what we always do.

Take stock of the situation. Who in particular is with us right now? What is their status?

well, we either won or lost. probably lost.

"Come in A.N.O.N.! This is the Command Crew of the Oncoming Storm, do you read?"

Get the other members of the Command Crew up, and see if any of the other ground troops are injured.

Have someone determine what our inventory is like.
Others, take a look at those buildings; we're most likely in a magical world. Does the architecture look familiar to anyone?

The good news: Chrono Trigger is fairly well-known amongst all of us.

The bad news: Any non-magically inclined person (i.e. NOT WHITE MAGES OR AURORS) is going to stick out like a sore thumb to the locals. We might get sent down to the surface of the planet, where all the non-magical plebes eke out an existence that is akin to living like cavemen.

In addition, we may or may not be living on borrowed time. If this is before all the craziness with Lavos started up, we may be in for a bit of hide and seek while we attempt to recover our personnel.

If this is during the events of Chrono Trigger (when they traveled to this period), we have a limited timeframe in which we need to recover our guys before Lavos is summoned and he fucks the world over.

For the benefit of the questers (and our assembled team):

We are currently in the Kingdom of Zeal. This kingdom runs on magic 24/7 (or sufficiently advanced magic that can work as technology), and everyone in this kingdom can use magic. Those who cannot use magic are exiled to the surface of this planet, which can be described as a snowy tundra. These exiles have formed self-sustaining communities, but have sadly not advanced past the point of making rough-hide clothes and subsistence farming/hunting (unlike the Avernites. But that's another canon). In order to access the other islands, we will have to use the teleporters, which are usually located inside buildings on the island.

About the canon: this is the Chrono Trigger canon. This canon heavily involves time travel. The protagonists of this canon travel through time, attempting to discover the origins of a world-shattering (and probably the being that seeded most non-prehistoric life on this world) being named Lavos. Lavos has already landed on this world as of now, and is dormant. He is waiting until civilization reaches a certain point before awakening and consuming most of all life on this planet.

However, depending on the point in history in which we've arrived, the current ruler of the Kingdom of Zeal (named Queen Zeal) may be attempting to awaken Lavos or siphon his power. Either attempt results in rousing Lavos from his sleep, which causes him to prematurely consume this world. While this fails and the world continues to evolve and flourish, it results in a very destructive rain of fire that wipes out most of the surface of the world.

    PROTAGONISTS TO LOOK OUT FOR:

If we see any of these guys running around, this means that our time is limited and we should hurry the fuck up or we'll get consumed in fire. It'll take too long to describe them, and the information is readily available over the internet. Just look for a list of Chrono Trigger characters.

    NOTABLE INHABITANTS:

The Nu. Odd creatures that are basically giant blue heads with arms and legs and a green mohawk. Usually tranquil and civil, but can be absolutely devastating in combat with their headbutts.

Queen Zeal: perhaps the current ruler of the Kingdom of Zeal. While she was initially wise and tranquil and patient, Lavos influences her to become increasingly reckless, imperious, and ambitious. This may or may not have spurred her to exile the non-magic users. May be immortal as far as aging death goes. Extremely powerful sorcerer, do not engage. Has blue hair.

Princess Schala: perhaps the Princess of Zeal at this time. Level-headed and kind-hearted, and well-versed in magic. She may not turn us in if she encounters us, and may possibly help us out of we explain ourselves. But still, it may not be good to alert anyone significant of our presence here, if we can help it. Has crystal-blue hair.

Prince Janus: Little kid. Kind of a downer. Has a purple cat that follows him around everywhere. Best to avoid contact with him at all costs, due to his role in future events.

Dalton: Queen Zeal's underling. Total asshole. Strong sorcerer, but not nearly as dangerous as the minions he summons.

Golems: Dalton's underlings. Very dangerous. Attacks are based on whatever it was hit with (retaliates with massive magic or physical attacks if hit with the corresponding attack). Kind of dumb. Also deathly afraid of heights.

Zeal was consumed in fire and the whole island went crashing down. Only the Black Omen/Undersea palace made it out unscathed.

We're probably not seeing any life because Zeal is essentially a gated living community. All the inhabitants live in the cities and teleport to and from each city. We are not likely to find any local fauna, save for the pets that the inhabitants have.

The Aurors head towards the palace as the Observer changes course for the hangars. The Blackbird is indeed docked, and a luminous humanoid is staring at it, wistfully. Moving inside the hangars, the Observer locates the VF Squadron's remnants haphazardly collapsed within. The pilots appear to be unconscious. The Hyaku Shiki is also within, lying on its back.

Occasionally the Observer registers swift flashes of light or movement as it investigates, but never enough to lock onto.
