>>17145832 The Chieftain says they don't want peace, the entire South Isle culture is now pretty much dedicated to spitting in the eyes of God one last time then going out in a blaze of glory. What followed was one of the best sessions I've ever been involved in. We argue; back and forth; him giving me a chance to talk him over into releasing me, when they don't even have the resources to feed their own, rather than just execute me, which would be an extra meal for 5 people, 1 new set of clothing, a new fancy sword and some other bits and bobs and I arguing that he should let me go on, with his blessing I argue back using all my tricks and anything I can think of, I use logic, charm, emotion, my arguments range from that their culture is dying and that only by making peace can they survive, to that humans and spirits will never be at peace unless someone makes the first concession, I make it clear that I can't understand their pain and that I'm not going to claim I can, even after having walked this broken land to get here; that the spirit knows that one day the Empire will return in full force and crush it; that it will have to listen, that their survival proves it can be defied, then on to the idea that I don't expect it to work, but I'm willing to die trying, that they're not risking anything by letting me go on and if theres even a small hope, isn't that worth trying. And if not, I might give it a few scars, or weaken it; I use literally every trick in the book, when I've been planning this argument for weeks, no, months OOC and IC. |
