    KERENSKY'S BLOOD! IT'S TG QUEST!!!

Short Summary: You're in a world that has more horror than Michael Jackson's photo album. Currently you're in Pennsylvania, in a town called Riverside trying to get answers about the zombies that have overrun the area, and their new leader, some sort of lich. You have just completed a deal to drop supplies to the Survivor Encampment, and their nominal leader, Dr. Han, approaches you.

    Last Thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/17059442/

"You have completed your part of the bargain," Dr. Han says, reaching into his pocket and producing a flash drive. "I have copied all of my notes and work onto this device. I hope it serves you well."

    hell yeah, IT'S META TIME!

Right, get that data up to the ship and have our guys do a SCIENCE MONTAGE (rock music non-optional). Let's figure out if we can immunise our soldiers.

    TG Quest fuck yeah!

Okay, have the probe droid take the drive.
I hope that we have a means of interfacing with it.

Your scientists state that with the new data, all they need is some time to go through it all and run some tests. They estimate that by next morning they should have a complete report.

Do you just wait or do you do anything in the mean time?
    >> Anonymous 12/02/11(Fri)19:20 No.17087298
Once we have the conclusions of our science team on the data, we should prepare our strike team. Our goals should be

    1) Eliminate all virus-type undead activity in both Riverside and Racoon.
    2) Strike/Negotiate with the necromancer to eliminate all magic-type undead.

The Lich king, Azalin Rex, hates Strahd. I'm expecting we'll set the two up against each-other, or at the very least, befriend them both so that one of them can help us contain the Dark Presence.
I honestly don't know how to kill the Dark Presence.

We're up against L4D zombies, and Night of the living dead zombies, and Resident Evil zombies. There may also be some parasitic zombies in there (Half-life / The flood / The many from system shock 2), so be careful.

Until morning: I'd like to have something aerial do a flyover and search for signs of survivor activity. I don't know where the hell we'd find Leon, but the L4D guys would've set up defenses on top of a hospital tower if they existed.

The fact that the Fog covers the entire world has me worried. I'm still paranoid that we'll come up against biblical shit in Israel.

I don't like using our limited resources, but we may need to send an Observer into Raccoon City.

It can fly above the range of any of the zombies and has a cloak.

The last two probe droids we sent were take out by something 2 miles from the city limits.
    >> Anonymous 12/02/11(Fri)19:31 No.17087395
Maybe mention this being the Raccoon City incident all over again, with added mention of Umbrella?
I mean ultimately Raccoon City was actually nuked, so you'd think it would still be in the public consciousness.
    >> Anonymous 12/02/11(Fri)19:35 No.17087426
    >>17087395
    >>17087383
No, we shouldn't mention it. One of the people here identified himself as a Raccoon City survivor, and from everything he was saying, it appeared that he is from before the city was nuked.
And the other survivors appear to be from the L4D Canon, not the RE Canon, so they wouldn't have heard of Raccoon City before or of it being nuked.

    Alright vote time:
    A. Send an Observer to fly 500 feet in the air and recon Raccoon City
    B. Send the Probe Droids in
    C. Do A and B
    D. Other

    I'm voting A.

OP: I assume that we're sending teams to Pennsylvania and Transylvania simultaneously, but we're just keeping them in separate threads to avoid confusion.
I'd say now's a good time to get a handle on which troops we're sending where, once the scientists get done with their work.

The Mechs are a given for the zombie apocalypse, since I don't see them being useful in the Castles of ravenloft and castlevania.
The Sandmen's nanites might prevent zombie infection.
The /tg/ recruits could use some meatgrinder experience.
BLU team are more suited to 'kick the door down and blow up waves of enemies' fighting than fighting single strong boss monsters, so I'd send them to the zombies.
Star-lord might help command our troops vs. the zombies.
The EMH is a given for the zombie apocalypse. We'll see a lot of wounded or dead survivors, and our own troops might be infected.
X-com ranking officers (I assume we have some in the veteran squad) prevent rookie panic. Flying suits are useful to check in windows and on top of buildings. Psi troops can control simple bestial creatures, and they're amazingly GOOD at it in X-com (beasts have low psi skill).
We'll need to split up the White mages between here and transylvania. We've got a lich here, which presumably means magical undead.

So, I'm thinking our Zombie team consists of:
The Mechs (other than the MLRS since I assume most of our fights will be close range)
    /tg/ recruits
    Sandmen
    BLU
    X-commies
    Star-lord
    EMH
    3 of the White Mages

    Any changes/additions/removals?

We're going to have to start getting some intel on Raccoon City and Aazlin.
Baring SUE-interference, an Observer should be able to quietly float over it and give us the lay of the land.

Also, request someone from the dropship near Silent Hill go out and find a map covering PA and see if Raccoon City is actually native or not.

Your questions and search do not find any trace of the R.E. heroes or the L4D survivors. When you describe Wesker, however...

"Oh shit, the blond guy with the coat, glasses and red eyes? He skulks around Raccoon like it's his personal playground. Saw him jump down on my buddy, and the fucker bit into his neck and start gulping! I swear it's like a madhouse over there..."

Half of the Psion and Abjurer teams as well, since we're dealing with a magic enemy.

Also, would like to get confirmation from OP that we're having these operations go down simultaneously, but doing them one at a time in order to avoid confusion.

Hm. I'd like to keep the Psions and Abjurers for Ravenloft and Castlevania since they'll be in their element there.
For Transylvania, I'm thinking Knights Inductor (with Darius), Mobile infantry, Abjurers, Psions, Aurors, and the other half of the WHMs.

This leaves our Prawns, SCPs, UNITs (with Mouse), Delta greens, Tosh, and Egon ready to deploy to whatever random bullshit pops up.

Hm, 'the blond guy with the coat, glasses and red eyes' is kinda vague when you think about it, and this one sounds vampric.. Can we get a picture to him to confirm Wesker or not?
I'm wagering Raccoon is not actually local, and if it is Wesker, it was probably dragged over along with him.
However I'll remain uncertain on that until we can confirm whether or not the cities exist on maps from this world.

Remember team, we're working on a Science! solution to the bulk of the zombie issues. What we really need in a team going to PA is the ability to deal with a near-demilich. We've got a lot of valuable intel on him, weaknesses, flaws, true name, and the form of his anchor, but we've got to be careful, I don't want to loose people to a mad lich.
    >> Anonymous 12/02/11(Fri)19:56 No.17087591
    >>17087541
Cool. Need to be careful with who we deploy, then.

One person wants to send half the Abjurers and Psions to the Zombie area, and another person wants to send all the Abjurers and Psions for Ravenloft/Castlevania.
We need someone to second one of these suggestions - either one works, so long as we're not deadlocked.

    >>17087559
Perhaps, but be careful. The last time we dealt with a powerful magical enemy, we basically got swindled.
We -did- learn that "stob" was a Space-Time Oscillation Bomb from him, so that's good.

The mists are thick enough that the sun is not visible, but the increased illumination around the fortified mall means it has risen into the sky.

    Your scientists report in.

"We have completed our research into the zombies plaguing the area, and have discovered that most of the samples brought in have been dead long before being re-killed by the HK unit. Some sort of anomalous energy has sustained and altered most of these bodies, though primary mutation was accomplished by the T Virus for some, and an unknown contagion we are terming 'Caesar' for the others. It is important to note that though the virus is inactive in all true undead, they ARE still carriers of it. Using the advanced facilities onboard, we have developed a vaccine based on Sandman nanites that will make any troops we field immune to the airborne strains of this disease, and resistant to the virus delivered by injury. We can also provide information on the monster's tactical capabilities."
    >> Anonymous 12/02/11(Fri)20:02 No.17087650
If we have some time before sending people down:
Have them play some games of Left 4 Dead against each-other, and view some footage of monsters from Resident Evil.
That should give them at least an idea of what they're up against.

Begin replicating the vaccine at once.
We seem to be in agreement that the mechs and TG Recruits, at least, will be going down to Raccoon City, so they'll all need shots of the vaccine.

The TG recruits, coming from Meta, should already be familiar with zombie movies and videogames; just make sure that all of them have played some Resident Evil and seen Return of the Living Dead.
The Canon troops will need a crash course in zombie survival.

Honestly, a Zombie Apocalypse shouldn't be entirely a Outside Context Problem for the likes of our guys. I mean, UNIT, Delta Green, SCP and TG troops must be at least somewhat familiar with the "do's and don'ts" of dealing with zombies, while the MI and the Mechwarriors are going to laugh at pretty much anything the zombies can throw at them.

Good work team, start churning out enough to inoculate all away teams with enough to spare for locals as we can.

Alright, the variety of zombies and creatures are culled from many sources, but they've all been converted to true undead, that is some serious SUE involvement if I've ever seen it, question is whether Ebon Night arranged it or the local disruption did.

Science Team, start trying to work that X-COM psi-unlocking mojo and anything else you can come up with to help Cheryl get in touch with her abilities, I believe that is why she is key to having a chance against the Dark Power at work on this world.

    >>17087707
Well yeah. Most of the troops that we recruited from near-modern Earth worlds should be fine.

I'm worried about the White Mages (since the undead they fought don't carry infections).

While this is going on, we should have the others who are going to go to Transylvania watch movies on vampires and play through the Castlevania games; specifically Symphony of the Night.
Also read up on any Ravenloft setting books if we have any.

    The question now is:
    Do we deploy in:

Also, for magic support, what do we bring:
    A. 3 White Mages (out of 6)
    B. 3 White Mages, 3 Abjurers, 3 Psions (out of 6)

With good armor and a decent supply of weaponry, the zombies themselves aren't a major problem to our people, at least not with the vaccine.
The real threat will be SUE-corrupted creatures, Wesker, and Azalin. If this follows Ravenloft rules we've seen so far, we need to defeat the Anchor for this locale.

I think that we will need to bring Cheryl up to the Storm eventually, and get her some time inside a Psi Lab with some X-COM Psi Vets to try to unlock her powers, but I don't think now is a good time.

We need all the X-COM vets down in Raccoon City, and it's best if we give Cheryl a day to decompress and get her head cleared from Silent Hill before putting her through psi-training.

    As for deployment:

Voting for B. Raccoon City, on the very outskirts.
    Also voting B Magic Support.
And have the EMH and HK-50 get back into their shuttlepod and hop over to the landing zone to meet up with the others.

Okay, let's do things, please. I vote for this. Or for anyone else who has an idea. Let's act; our discussion is crossing too far into hypothetical supposition. We need to get our men in there so we can see what we're up against.

One addendum: Let's scan any 'major' characters we come up against. We haven't confirmed yet just which canon is actually native - we need to figure that out. Discovering whether or not they are distorting reality will do that.

I believe he's talking about after this mission concludes. It is a very real concern. Perhaps we should turn an eye to future recruitment with that in mind?

Of course, focusing upon the mission at hand should take priority, but if anyone has an idea for possible future opponents we may need to counter (granted that is an *extremely* long list), it may be a good idea to get it out in the open so we can prepare accordingly. For example, we may need some hacking expert in future to deal with maniac supercomputers, as well as insulating our equipment from external interference.

Psions and any Mech sensors should get on detecting life. Abjurs can detect magic. WHMs should get Magic Defense spells on the Star-lord and the Mechs, if they can maintain these spells and still have the mana left to heal.

/tg/ Recruits use guns to shoot, BLU does the same. Keep moving that dispenser forward, engineer; we'll need lots of ammo.
X-commies can fly around to look in windows or snipe from rooftops with heavy plasma, or they can blaster bomb strong targets, or they can MIND CONTROL big dumb beasties to make them sit still while we apply bullets to them.
Sandmen are basically an extra set of guns that we can trust not to be affected by zombifying.

Star-Lord goes over the city map provided by the Observer, and identifies a route that will get the troops to the building that Azalin is using for a tower.
There is unlikely any place near that tower that the Leopard could land at, so we'll need to land and disembark our troops at the outskirts.

They will fight their way through the city to the tower.

In order to put Raccoon City back in its proper canon, we have to get rid of Azalin's influence. In the RE universe, the city gets nuked after the major T-virus outbreak that leads to the first three games. If Azalin's still around here when that's due to take place, then he'll prevent it from occurring. That is not a good thing. Hence, we kill Azalin and boot this city back to its proper canon.

Dropship has guns, mechs piling out have guns. They'll be clearing the way first. We'd be facing them the same if we were marching up mainstreet, but then it would take longer and our opponents could prepare more and draw more zombies to them.
Hit 'em hard right outside, and send the rest of the team into the building, assuming they don't come out to fight.

I was waiting to see if anyone else had a clear plan, but I suppose it's time.

The Leopard lands on the outskirts of Raccoon City, deploying the Mad Cats and Hyaku Shiki as the other troops boil out of it as well. An initial wave of zombies both slow and fast shamble to meet them, but are immediately cut down by the dropship's onboard weapons as well as the mecha's own arsenals.

The X-COM veterans immediately take to the air as the Recruit squad hastily begins to assemble its large platoon into some semblance of order.

The Observer detects movement all over the city as your forces form a wedge to drive towards its center...

The main issue with both is that there's no point we can recruit them *from* in their timelines. X is a cyberelf, and may be reluctant to take up arms once more (legs too, while we're at it), and well, we're not sure when might be good to recruit Rock. Zero, on the other hand, had an ideal point of recruitment, just after he destroyed Weil. his commitment to destroying the enemy, and his excellent destructive capabilities, especially swordmanship (handy, when we have a bunch of First age magic swords going around) and several weapons still give him adaptability enough.

Of course, it's not an either/or proposition, depending on how many slots become available.

Zero is the only Megaman protagonist we can actually recruit with damaging the Canon. luckily, he's one of the best choices. Your Leopard goes into 'Spectre Mode' as it circles the battlefield and starts blasting apart the hordes of zombies as they form. With the White Mages and Nannybags, your forces suffer very minor casualties as they press forward, especially with Raise magic. BLU has to respawn once or twice, but you're half-way to the skyscraper already. That way, they might get in a wizard duel or whatever, giving us more ease to move around. Of course, if they figured out we leaked that information, it would be a Very Bad Thing.

    Permanent.

The Leopard can only carry 3 mechs per... and I thought everyone said to carry down the Cats and Shiki instead of the 'stroids.

Now that you're formed up, most of the zombies simply cannot stand up to your firepower. The few undead assets that can flee in advance. You get the feeling that someone is guiding its forces to where they would be more useful.

And so, finally you make it to the skyscraper that is at the center of this chaos. The structure is sleek and futuristic, though its upper floors seem to have suffered heavy damage. A wide lobby is clearly visible beyond the first floor walls of transparent glass.

That may be well and good, but giving Azalin more time to wreck our shit isn't a good idea. Wizards need 1 hour to prepare a spell slot they haven't yet prepared, and 8 hours to fully recharge. Our flying dropship and observers should try to find where the zombies are. If they're at the tower then that's well and good, but I figure they may be clustering around some secondary targets that might merit investigating later.
If any of our surviving Psions can scry, they should attempt to do so to find where the zombies are retreating to.

The Magic users, and Sandmen, fight their way up the building.

The /tg/ Recruits can easily hold previously cleared rooms and pick through them for Phat loot, the Mechs cover the outside of the building (Mechs are good at defending buildings), and the Leopard does what it's doing right now.

The X-COM troops take point, emerging from the office complex into a storage area. Crates, odd storage containers that look like huge cylinders, and tanks fill the room. Two types of tank in fact. Three of the Veterans immediate are set upon by a trio of Tanks as they leap into combat from ambush positions atop huge piles of crates and cargo. The white mages immediately resurrect them, but your team still scatters at the sudden attack. A veritable swarm of undead begins to boil forth from every corner of the room, all rushing for your away team! Hunters, Lickers, and the various zombies are joined by a new creature, a terrible amalgamation of several creatures in a humanoid shape, with bony blades for arms and many malformed eyes.

    You call this a cliffhanger?
That's like pausing the movie right before the Exterminatus hits.
It's not a question of if it will work, just a question of how pretty the fireworks will be.

Don't bother. I already saved it.

Make sure that you use the exact same tags as the previous threads, and their specific formatting. Also, make sure to use the same naming convention as the rest of the threads.

Make sure to get it right, because once it's archived incorrectly, it won't get fixed. The admins will say they'll fix it, but I've yet to see a single archived thread ever get its tags fixed.

No, they're useful when we can use them.
The problem is that since we're a black ops unit, we would need to kill or erase the memories of everyone who saw us in action, and we don't have the time to be doing that, what with Chaos and the Void Engineers running loose.

You know what, with zombies and wizards going around, 'secret military battlemechs' are just as believable as anything else.
    >> Anonymous 12/03/11(Sat)02:25 No.17090521
    >>17090455

They keep getting thrust into situations in which they aren't really suited for. Anti-zombie duty involves using extensive amounts of weaponry that are meant for taking out tons of infantry (i.e. flamers, machine guns, small pulse lasers). Our current Timberwolves/Mad-Cat Primes aren't really good anti-infantry 'mechs, and the Hellstars are downright terrible for crowd-control. Even the likes of the Hi-Nu Gundam or Wing Zero would not fare very well in that situation. We might have been able to take along some Firestarters or Piranhas for dedicated and downright scary anti-infantry capabilities, but they would not be very useful outside of that role.

If we were in a Sci-fi type setting, however, they'd fit right in and contribute very well; in fact, they acquitted themselves well when defending the Rewriter bomb against the various SUE ground/air forces that were sketched into existence. Against mech-sized targets or static defenses, our 4 Hellstars gives us some extremely long-ranged and extremely damaging long-to-short ranged fire support (4 C-ER PPCs with no minimum range = OUCH). The Two Mad-Cats give us some raiding capability while offering a similar mix.

We need to recruit Nachtmaren members from Zeonquest.

We also need to get one of the basic Getter Robos too.

We could possibly get Hovis and Zolomon, Hell, maybe even Fontaine and Ramirez. But the others are accounted for in an epilogue. I don't know if we can get any of the other members.

What we need to supplement our big mechs are some Armored Combat Suits from the Legacy of the Aldenata series. Designed to take on massed infantry-level combat and withstand a shitton of damage with good survivability even if seriously wounded.

Guys, you're getting Quest thread crossovers mixed up in our universe of crossovers.
    ...wait...
    Oh, never mind.
It'd be awesome if we could get the protagonists from Mutant Quest or Doppleganger Damacy. Yes, I know Jack Kirby is an anaemic piece of shit that dies to boars, but if we fed him a bit without him dying...

The Blonde, Red-eyed vampire sits uneasily in your stomach as you struggle to digest its rotting flesh. But, as your gut settles, you realise you become a lot stronger...
    CHOOSE ONE:
    Int 22
    Cha 20
    Regeneration
    Proficiency: Global Saturation 4 ranks

Those suits aren't bad, but we can get equivalents from other SF Canons that might be able to offer a better deal.

Better deal nothing, I'm talk about recruiting some ACS troopers. A lot fell in the worst of the fighting, it would be pretty straightforward to get a squad-worth swapping some for explosions when their position starts to be overrun.

Oh, you're talking about getting more troops, rather than better armor for our current team.
Or are you saying we should swap them out and kill them for the suits?

    Doppelganger Damacy would be great.

Speaking of Damacies, I wonder if we could get the Prince of All Cosmos and/or the King of All Cosmos with Katamaris eventually. It would be the ultimate in containment technology! Just roll up the Katamari to the approximate size of the enemy and keep 'em stuck to the ball until we can deal with them at a later date. The Prince is nigh-indestructible, and the King (while likely to inadvertently cause more harm than good) is basically a carefree/whimsical version of Galactus.

The OP from that is in here somewhere at time, there's been after game talk before about letting some be brought in.

    >>17090575
I dunno about 'equivalents', I don't think I've seen a mass produced suit have that find of pilot survivability anywhere else. They practically have nanny-bags built in.

Speaking of which, we need to have that jacked-up rebuild bed from the secret lab at the shelter.
I'll leave that vague for those that haven't read it, but the rest of you know what mean, and that's a perfect opportunity to grab it as well.
    >> Anonymous 12/03/11(Sat)02:58 No.17090655
    >>17090608
Talking more troops in this case, those suits need well trained people using them, just like we have pilots for our battlemechs.
Mass Effect suits seem to be a fair choice for everyone else, built in healing application, shields, dampers, and vacuum safe. Plus counts as 'worn' rather than 'riding inside' which can matter to the spellcasters.
    >> Anonymous 12/03/11(Sat)03:01 No.17090668
    >>17090655
Actually the Schlockverse low-profile power-armor might be better than the Mass Effect. Hm, if we could put them together that would be the best of both worlds.
    >> Anonymous 12/03/11(Sat)03:20 No.17090744
    >>17090635
Oh don't get me wrong, the ACS suits are good. But they're not real nanny-bags, since you can't exactly survive having your head cut off.
    And don't confuse plot-armor with actual-armor.
Just because main characters with the armor on survive, doesn't mean that our grunts will.
