DEVOURING THE FLESH OF THE TURKEY HAS GIVEN ME STRENGTH FOR...

    TG QUEST!!!

    Last Thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/16994064/

When last we left our away team, they had managed to drag Douglas Cartland out of his guilt far enough to nullify Silent Hill's hold on him. Having placed the Red Mask onto the statue of Data, the statue of Alessa cracked and began to glow, but nothing further happened. Now you must decide what action next to take. What horrors await you? What monsters lurk in Silent Hill? And what sort of terrible bum-related puns will infest THIS thread? FIND OUT! ON TG QUEST!

    Away Team inventory:
    White Chrism
    Book:Crimson Ceremony

Heather: ME Hardsuit, M41A Pulse Rifle.
Douglas: ME Hardsuit, M41A Pulse Rifle.
Data: Phaser Rifle, Tricorder, Federation Medkit.
Spike: Handgun, Hand Phaser, A280 Blaster Rifle.

Your probe droid is still idling in the 'real' world.
    >> Anonymous 11/25/11(Fri)19:12 No.17019560
Aw yeah starting it up once again. Is the unknown door within the real world, if so the probe droid might be able to open it up for us. unless the key we obtained is what unlocks that door. but before opening the door we should make sure that everyone is ok, don't need to walk into a bossfight unprepared.

    >>17019510
    Alright, Meta Quest!

Okay, first have Data take a quick scan of Alessa's statue.
Then, have both the team and the probe droid return to the antechamber and open the left, unknown door.
    >> Anonymous 11/25/11(Fri)19:14 No.17019579
Hmm... Heather is to continue providing moral support to Douglas.
Actually, now that there's a lull in things trying to kill us, might as well ask her if she'd prefer to be called Heather or Cheryl.

"Cheryl, actually," Heather says. "No reason to hide anymore."

Data's tricorder reveals that strange energies are surrounding the statue and not only that, there appears to be a living human encased in the stone.

The probe droid advances to the door in the real world and finds it unlocked. It opens to a long, straight hallway with a single vault-like door at the end.
    >> Anonymous 11/25/11(Fri)19:29 No.17019705
    >>17019684
Well, can we get the person out?
If it doesn't seem possible currently, then have the team go to the antechamber and open their version of the left door. If it's clear, then have both the team and the probe droid open their respective vault doors.
    >> Anonymous 11/25/11(Fri)19:31 No.17019722
Can the probe droid scan the vault like thing? if it looks like something unpleasant is in it, we should wait to open it up.
    >> OP 11/25/11(Fri)19:35 No.17019758
    >>17019705
Data tries to smash the cracked stone, but it doesn't seem to have any effect.

Douglas goes to open the left door. It opens into another small antechamber instead of the long hallway. Carved stone pillars line the walls and twin doors are at the far wall, carved with images of coiling dragon. A large keyhole is at the center of this door, and a hole in the ceiling about two feet wide is in the ceiling.

At this point I will begin referring to Heather as Cheryl.

Alright so there's someone inside the statue, and the artifacts we're gathering are the requirements for the Crimson Ceremony.
I'm betting the 'final boss' is in that statue, but if we attack it now, it will turn out not to be, because Silent Hill is wise to our games.
Let's just play along for now.

The probe droid's sensors cannot pierce the door, but on closer examination, he notes an intricate series of panels worked into the metal. There are 22 panels, each corresponding to the major arcana of a tarot deck; The Magician, The High Priestess, The Empress, The Emperor, The Hierophant, The Lovers, The Chariot, Strength, The Hermit, Wheel of Fortune, Justice, The Hanged Man, Death, Temperance, The Devil, The Tower, The Star, The Moon, The Sun, Judgement, The World, and The Fool.

    Data:
    >VIII - Justice (La Justice): a woman, sometimes blindfolded, holding a sword and set of scales. A very traditional allegory of justice, objectivity, rationality, and analysis,

    Spike:
    >X - The Wheel of Fortune (La Roue de la Fortune): a six or eight-spoked wheel decorated with elemental symbols and surrounded by different animals wearing wealthy and beggarly clothes. A symbol of fate and varying luck, fortunes, and opportunities, and the cycle of life. What goes up will go down, what goes down will go up.

Best match I could find for Cheryl:
    >II - The High Priestess (La Papesse): an old woman with a closed book, a symbol of hidden knowledge, wisdom, female mystery, and magic.

    Silent hill itself:
XVIII - The Moon (La Lune): two dogs howling at the moon, around a pool with a crab in it, with two towers in the background. Associated with creativity, inspiration, dreams, madness, illusions, fear, fantasy, the subconscious, and trickery.

Data takes point, everyone walks slowly forward. Spike covers the rear. Heather in the middle, with Heather's bum behind her. Ensure that Heather's bum remains covered - with all the attention we've given Heather's bum thus far, it'd be a shame if anything were to lay hands on Heather's bum in this hallway.

Move forward, be ready for tons of monsters.

Data detects several 'living' things moving around in the fog, but not obstacles or traps. Some property of the fog is making their pinpointing impossible.

As you tie up and prepare to advance into the fog, a high-pitched shriek is heard, and a skeletal bird, half made of metal flies out of the fog, alights on one of the pillars and caws at the group.

Your team forms up and Spike slowly pushes on the door, which seems to open with a low moan.

Behind the door is a large gothic style worship hall with an impossibly high ceiling. Light streams in from many large stained glass windows depicting a blonde woman weeping red tears alternating with coiled red dragons, and carrion birds.

Behind row upon row of pews is an altar. There, a nun prays on her knees, her back turned toward you. In front of her is a tall humanoid in a longcoat, beneath which is a suit Its head is obscured by a streamlined mask, almost in the shape of a beak. It drags with it a very long katana, its blade easily five feet. A long scratch in the tiled floor of the cathedral leads from a door at the end of the hall to the altar, indicating how long the figure had been slowly advancing.

As you enter, the figure raises its weapon and with deceptive ease, decapitates the praying nun. The body collapses as the head rolls over to Spike's feet. Spike's face goes taut with emotion as he looks at the beautiful face staring lifelessly up at him.

    "Julia..."

First question is: is Silent Hill preying on Spike's guilt over Julia's death, or unresolved issues with Vicious, or a combination of the two?
Second question: is this a boss-fight, or are just supposed to run?

"Mr. Data, do not be fooled by the being's apparent speed; once combat is initiated, it will likely move much faster.
"Mr. Spiegel, you ended your fight with Vicious. You finally killed him, and supposedly put that chapter of your past behind you. What still keeps you there?"

    Pyramid Vicious.
    Right.
Spike, you're not alone. You've got backup from Heather, Data, and some useless bum. For the love of fuck don't try to do everything yourself this time.
I don't know about Spike's relationship with Julia, so someone who is Cowboyier and/or more Bebopish can resolve that one.
Look for evil symbols on the floor; the idea is to lead Pyramid Vicious over them and apply bullets to him.

Data, you know the drill. Scan the place for hidden evil symbols and mechanics, if you're not currently applying bullets to and/or dodging the Pyramid Vicious.
Heather, try not to get yourself anywhere near the decapitating decapitator of decapitatage. If possible, just support Spike and apply some pressure to Vicous so Vicious can't get easymode cheap shots on Spike.
Douglas, don't stand near the decapitating decapitator of decapitatage. If possible, look for hidden items and switches and plot coupons and such.

As I recall, it was implied in the series that Spike and Vicious were friends back in Spike's Syndicate days. But something happened involving Julia, and things went to shit, forcing Spike to flee (and get a cybernetic eye), and creating a lot of bad blood between Vicious.

Cheryl opens fire, fully automatic, but this just makes most of her shots go wide, unused as she is to assault weapons. Douglas does better, manage to strike the monster with a few well placed bursts. Unfortunately, Data miscalculates and his phaser beam strikes a pew instead, lighting it on fire. Spike's few shots go wide as he runs for the next symbol.

Corvus Vicious finally pulls himself upward with a shrill, inhuman screech, and begins to move towards Spike once more.

Corvus Head shambles over to his prey as fast as he can, black blood sickly oozing from the open and jagged stump that is all that remains of his left arm. The monster ignores the gunfire directed at him by the other members of the team as he moves towards Spike, who lies still. Finally he reaches its quarry and pulls his sword free with one arm, leaning down to run it through Spike...

...and then suddenly Spike rolls onto his back and kicks up with his foot while grabbing Corvus Head's shoulders, throwing him over himself and into the circle, which shines with an orange light. Spike rolls over again, draws his phaser and fires, point blank into the monster. The thing gives out a long, pained groan, falling still as thousands of tiny smiling faces boil out from the final symbol and begin devouring the monster, leaving nothing behind save the long katana as they consume the final demon of Spike Spiegal.

Spike collapses with a long sigh, pulling himself up against the half-destroyed altar as the fire spreads to half the hall behind him. He shakily pulls out a cigarette, puts it in his mouth and then points at the spot where Corvus Head died, his thumb upright.

Well, Data, Heather, and Douglas (who is apparently not a Bum) can go on through it.
Where is that Health Drink line from? I don't recognise it, but it sounds humorous.

Alright, I suppose have Data cautiously open the door and see what's in the room?

Okay, let's have Cheryl and Data check out the door that Corvus Head came through, while Doug covers their back.
Is Spike able to at least move on his own?
We need to find a secure place we he can be until we're ready to leave.

Let Spike rest if we can get him to.

Once we're ready to move, let's see about that rear door.

    In the meantime, >>17022923
has a good point, check out that altar. Examine the 'nun' if still present as well, though try not to be rude with it.

It's 2:30am and we're autosaging. Let's check out the room behind Corvus. The Altar, Confession booths, and where the Nun was standing are good places to check.
ESPECIALLY the Confession booths. There's always something awesome hidden in those, if the curtains to enter them aren't locked.

Add: Data should also tricorder those places to look for hidden switches or compartments. Because why not? Might be somethin' useful.

Yeah since we're autosaging this is a good place to stop, I think. We'll open that room in the back in the next TG QUEST! (which will be Sunday at 7 PM.)

    Hope everyone had fun tonight.
