You are a Chieftan. A stern warrior leading The Corvus Tribe. Corvus Tribe. rules over the northern plains. Having nomadic origins it was hard to settle permanently in a land but you did it. Much happened since you have came here. You accomplished many things. But its just a beginning my lord. We are at begining of the road.

You return back to great all with Eliza and Elanor. Your new slaves. Still you are not sure what to do with them but for now it can wait. There are other things must taken care of.

-Emissary of Caliphate will arrive in a week.

-Also you need coal for your forges.

-Also Master Apothecary Gilthas wishes to speak with you.

-And Kingdom of Aville has sent another letter, demanding a compensation.

Order your people to improve the forging tech.

We still need coal. Tell your traders to set up trade for coal for now, if we find deposits somewhere then we will cut down on buying the coal.

Eh, the twins.... Pretty sure we suggested everything regarding that in the previous thread but hell..
Okay, lets talk to them and try to get some measure of personality or something. I still say we should have them Apothecary training or something that can utilize their intelligence.
    Remove the chains and shackles.

    >-Emissary of Caliphate will arrive in a week.

Your scouts previus reports suggest that there might be more sources for iron and coal deeper to the windy mountains. Still sending them without warriors wouldnt be wise.

Until we get more coal we cant advance forging.

You order your advisor to start preperations for the emisarries arrival.

Now you can either speak with twins first or Gilthas. Who will you talk to first?

Oh, and we need to research some ways to improve our military even further.
I say we assemble our best military guys and tell them to come up with something. Assemble Lucas, Bjorn, Krinn and several others who we don't know of together to make a rudimentary military council of sorts and tell them to work on it.

    >Your scouts previus reports suggest that there might be more sources for iron and coal deeper to the windy mountains. Still sending them without warriors wouldnt be wise.
Then send scouts with warriors. Ask them how many warriors they would need and then increase that amount by 50%.

    >Now you can either speak with twins first or Gilthas. Who will you talk to first?
Twins, since we don't need to go anywhere.

Oh! And that merchant who gave them us. I know he said he doesn't want money but I still think we should compensate him. Ask the adviser for suitable compensation which will not insult him (I think some minor trade privileges or something?)

    (from last night)

"Do not be worried, I can promise you that your lives here will be far from what you imagen. We are a people who believe in personal prowess and rewarding the same, be as honest and strong as the men and women around you and they will treat you the same.

If you give me your word of honour that you will not try to escape or do something stupid, those chains will be removed.
You will find me a man who greatly appriciates respect and honesty, and offer the same freely.

How you are treated is as much about your behaviour as it is my mood. Please me, do well by me and mine, and you will be rewarded. Displease me, betray my interests, and you will wish you were the lowest of slaves in the meanest of tribes. You will be judged, you will be watched. Pray you are not found wanting."

"Now, do we understand one another?"

These two seem to counter each other.
I just want to advise to not give promises right off the bat before we learn anything. Our wording should remain moderately ambiguous for now.

I just wanted to know how they are.
"Speak. I want to learn about you." or soemthing like that. It is hard to suggest anything when we know next to nothing about them.
We could ask them things like:
"Tell me about your skills and what you know. I need to know what you can be useful for. Tell me what you want to become. Do not be shy and reserved. Would be shame if you had a natural talent that went wasted"

Since all of the plans for them indicate that they will one day e important and or powerfull individuals in the tribe, we dont want to threaten them right away.
Treat them as we have treated everyone so far: Tribal charms, untill they act like they dont care about honour and tradition. then we can act all rude and nasty, but why foster bad blood from day one when being a charming brute has gotten us so far?

When you arrive at house of healing you realize its a small place. neverthless apothecaries make good use of it. Gitlhas greets you and leads you to his own office. You introduce Elanor to Gilthas. Gilthas chats with her bit and tests her knowledge. After some friendly talk he gets to the main topic.

-My lord. As you know since you supplied with us with better equipments we made considerable progress. Though for now our work have been with small injuries, i am confident that in near future my students will be able to work one greater injuries. Just tell Lucas (our best ranger) to organize the expedition. Tell him to send a little bit more warriors than he thinks will be necessary and enough Elites in case shit goes really south.

    Random event.....

You remember the potion which caused one to hallucinate? The one which your alchemist found. İt seems Bjorn and some of your chosen thought it was a good idea to mix that potion into the meals of berserkers. A harmless prank they called it. İ mean what harm can come from the over-aggresive-violent-war veterans when they are under effects of hallucunogen. You face palmed. You dont know if it was your luck or some divine intervention but when you arrived to warriors hall, berkserkers were still there and there were no casualities but... you found Brave Razsgath readying his man for some sort of grand crusade across the worlds to unite humanity. You spent hours to convince him that they werent genetically engineered supersoldiers and you werent their primarch Russ. You also tried explained them that Bjorn wasnt a mortally crippled ar hero who were put into a metal box. You were unsuccesfull but fortunately your alchemists told you that potions effect would expire shortly. So you ordered Bjorn to keep them busy until they return to normal and barricaded the whole building...

    What now?

-No one really knows. But in our book it says that long time ago Quiran and Ilythia were ruled by one empire. An empire which consumed many cultures and many people. Though the leader of the empire was fair and just, alas his life was short as a serious illness claimed him. His heir, a 16 years old prince soon followed him. Afterwards in a short time a civil war erupt. A general, Emperors' second in command was chosen by the concul to be new Emperor while Emperors' own daughter opposed them, telling them throne was her own right. After a bloody war which no one gained anything but lots of citizens were killed Daughter finnaly triumphed over General. She killed all of his followers, including the army who used to fought for Emperor. Lots of war veterans were killed regardless of their involvement with civil war and replaced by Daughters own liutenants. At that time the high governor of the Quiran who was also a native managed to keep Quiran out of the civil war. After the war he used his oppurtunity to declare his independence and formed the Caliphate while Daughter reformed Empire into Ilythia. And from that day Ilythia still tries to retake Quiran.

Send in the cannon fodder first. After enemy tires out hit with the regulars. Ilythia is different matter. Their own army is just for show. Their regulars are young nobles who never knew war. They own fancy ornemantel armour and decorated arms which is no good for war. They are peacocks rather then soldiers. The problem is their auxillaries arent. And they have vast reserves. Also their auxillary are composed of many different cultures which means they also can adopt into any kind of war.

For one, Quiron is the only nation that hasnt refered to us as "dull/stupid barbarians", for two they brought alot of gifts which means they are in serius need of our aid. third, Quiron wont be able to stand against priest king, Illythia and Aville.

Once Quiron is done for, who I wonder might be a suitable new conquest?
No, we can and should not stay neutral, we should gather what support we can get and once Quiron is attacked/attack. We join the fray.

-You offers are kind and generous but i about coming war. You are a bit vague. May i ask what is your plan? What do you expect us?

Makul stays silent for a second.

-For one thing, we need someone to support us. İts hard to live in deserts and lack of water and food is a problem even in peace. Our 40 percent of food and water comes from trade which will be cut off when the war starts. Second the priestking will not sit idle while we march to meet İlythia. He will try to take advantage of this. And we cant fight againt priestking and Ilythia at same time. So we need you to at least take care of Aville and half of the Ilythia's auxillary. İmproving your economoy is bit harder. Your people arent farmers or traders. They are warriors so there are still complications. Roads are already built. You also ask your horse breeders that if should Quiran breed mixed with northren breed. Most of them replies only if we have enough horses since a baby horse can be compeletly useless or some kind of uber horse depending on the traits it takes. You think about training rangers but you realize you simply havent got the time instead your can train archers which can undergo ranger training later. Lastly you talk with Cyrillia about windy mountain. You found her in her room with twins. She stops braiding the hair of Eliza and greets you. After you tell her about mountains, she tells you that it could the souls of the dead who cannot leave the mountains by some reason. You realize this day is Lukas' birthday. He is going to finish his 53th year. That old wolf. When you enter warriors hall you see that every warrior making preparations for a birthday party. Bjorn sits nead corner, knitting some kind of teddy bear doll for Lukas, Razsgath works on a two handed axe, clearly his present for Lukas, and another Chosen tries to knit a scarf. Lukas himself is nowhere to be seen.

    What now?

Preparations are finished in short time due to all warriors helping. When Lukas returns to warriors hold he is met by thousand faces who yell at him. "SUPRİSE!" Lukas laughs as everyone congrulates him. After lots of pat to the back and clap to the shoulder everybody gives their gifts to Lukas which he politely thanks. Party goes on some time. Close to finish you get a chance to talk with Lukas alone.

-So how it feels Lukas. Being a one badass old man. Leaving your 53th year behind.

-İt feels... i dont know. İ am glad that i lived among men whom are like brothers to me. Still without her.

He falls silent as he remembers his wife who passed away when he was 31.

    -İt must be hard.

-23 years without her. Sometimes i dont even know how i keep going. Probably because of you lads. Still i miss her.

-Stop torturing yourself Lukas. You know her soul is under the wings of crow. From there she will watch you. Make her proud.

    -Aye

After these words you exchange farewells as you turn back to help some chosen carry bjorn to his house, leaving Lukas alone with his memories.

A construction of whole town needs 5 stone and 1o wood which you dont have now. But an archery range needs 2 wood and 1 stone which you have.

Also you bought some artictic tool for Eliza.

Your farmers try to organize their lands and design some new watering system. Expect results in a week.

    >The dumb system that makes the main character to be a suave gentleman one post and a retarded horny ape-man the other because any retard can push his troll suggestions?

Well that's the problem with posting on a site like 4chan. If you don't like other people's opinions then maybe this is the wrong place to play a game that's supposedly open to everyone. I'm sorry that someone might get a dice roll better than yours and there is nothing you could do about it, and i'm sorry that someone happens to have a vastly different action then something you would have suggested, but your opinion is no greater than theirs and dice rolls make sure that everyone can get a fair chance at their choice being chosen.

Not only that, but your logic is flawed. You seem to think that a general-consensus vote keeps consistency between actions which may be true for a single thread. However, what if the OP of a quest runs it when you're asleep and the playerbase decides to do a complete 180 on the previous threads actions? Nothing is stopping them from doing that, and it all comes down to luck which is the same thing that rolling dice does except it makes it fair for everyone.

The dice rolling system keeps a thread fresh because no matter how you try and phrase it 1 or 2 people running a quest thread at the exclusion of all others will make it boring, and then when it's time for the OP to make another quest thread no one's going to want to play in a quest thread that has had so much history exclusively chosen by a few people. I've seen it happen a dozen times. Some quest that has had 4-5 threads dictated by a extremely small group that have a certain mindset gets posted and no one posts. That's one of the most common ways quest threads die and I'd hate to see it happen to this one.

So you tell me to use rolls to decide right?

Look. Let me tell you what. Tomorrow i will run this quest by that. Highest rolls decides... if players like it. Cool... İ will admit my mistake. Otherwise i will return to old system.

    Are you for real?

Have you seen what happens to quests with which take highest roll for the update and absolutely ignore any else? A an amusing quests where the character can lose its shit at any time but absolutely impossible to make long-term goals.

    >You seem to think that a general-consensus vote keeps consistency between actions which may be true for a single thread. However, what if the OP of a quest runs it when you're asleep and the playerbase decides to do a complete 180 on the previous threads actions?

True that. It happens sometimes... but I haven't observed anything too drastic. Also, if someone is going to participate in a quest it is likely that they have read the previous threads and will try to keep in character.

Also, I am not sure what you are complaining about. 2-3 people running the quest? Perhaps we just have small player-base and reach a consensus fast?
If you want to suggest something, then go ahead.. but do not expect us to sit down quietly when someone tells us to "rape 14 year old girls". If you have good ideas, they will be supported, if not and you feel that you are still in the right, then make an argument for your case and try to gather support.

I have never seen a quest being "circle-jerked" by couple of people.

    >>16886714
    No. Don't do that.
The man doesn't know what he is talking about. I've seen several quests fall apart because of that system.
    Keep it as it was.

Yes I do. It's called EVOquest and it's the best damn quest thread i've ever seen. I'm not going to waste my time re-stating what I just posted since you brought nothing new to the table and just re-hashed old arguments.

    >>16886736

Good man OP. I know for a FACT that you'll get a much improved response and your playerbase will no doubt increase. You've got a good thread here OP, don't let the kiddies who want a game exclusive to them ruin it.

The symptoms of a limited playerbase is going to be there no matter if it works by consensus or by die as there will only be a small number of inputs anyway. Also if you don't like the direction of the quest you could always try to write a compelling argument on how to proceed instead of bitching about it.

Yeah, because it takes .003 seconds to write an argument that might not even sway people's opinions. By the time I had finished writing that the action I was responding too would mos likely be gone.

Not only that but there are some actions that no amount of text will change their minds on whether to endorse it.

Also the playerbase is small because of the issues I highlighted previously. If the OP made it more open to people it would garner much more attention than it usually does. The playerbase size isn't the problem, it's the circlejerk that's going on that is.

Both of you make good points. Still i am new to this quest thing. İ know E.V.O quest too since i read it regularly but i know this that my Quest and E.V.O are different. Though i for myself want more players and opinions still i know that i want to run this quest smoothly. So i will think about a middle ground if i can. İf i cant i will try both systems and my players decide which one suits this quest best.

So gentlemen pls stop arguing and lets be all friends.

Wait.... are you that faggot that drops into EVERY SINGLE FUCKING QUEST to complain that it is not EVO quest? Whining about the quests you have never participated?

    >Good man OP. I know for a FACT that you'll get a much improved response and your playerbase will no doubt increase. You've got a good thread here OP, don't let the kiddies who want a game exclusive to them ruin it.
Yeah. So that you can suggest to "Pelvic thrust" little girls to death, right?

The reason why it works for EVO quest is because the DM of that game doesn't really know to properly run a game. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy it as much as the other guy. But holy shit, highest roll determine the action AND the success AND there are almost no limits how much players can roll, meaning you have 15 posts with rolls and the DM takes ONLY the highest one and since they are almost always crits or mini-crits, they are always successful.

The very rare occasion it was not is during the fight with the King.

And let me guess, you're the faggot who keeps calling people trolls if their opinions don't align with yours?

Regardless your post is nothing more than condensed butthurt. You raise no point and you're not even addressing the original problem anymore. I'm also pretty sure you're that one faggot who always tells people that their choices are wrong, although you've seem to disappear in the last thread. I guess you realized that everything does not cater to your whim.

    >>16886962

Agreed, although I simply used E.V.Oquest as an example, I don't want you to change your thread in anyway except for the method in which you choose posts. I was also merely trying to explain to this anon on why he is so very very wrong, a lesson he doesn't seem to be taking with grace.

This happens because your suggestions are either retarded, counter-productive or you make shitty arguments for your case.
On the very rare occasion that it not the occasion, it is because people put A LOT of time and effort into certain course and someone comes and tries to steer the ship other way. Of course there are going to be conflicts.

    >Also the playerbase is small because of the issues I highlighted previously.

No its not. it is because DM runs the quest during unconventional times (do not change your time-schedule OP, this is the ONLY quest I can participate because we have similar time-zones.)
Or because people just don't find the quest interesting. That happens too and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

    ...
You want to see massive player-base with Consensus style system. Go see: "Lord Quest, Dark Overlord quest, Totemist Quest, Frost Giantess Quest, Omnipotence Quest, Void Quest, Corp Quest, MegaCorp Quest, Blood Quest, Terminator Quest, Skynet Quest, Doppelganger Quest."
You will notice each and every of them are or were highly successful quests with a lot players and a fair deal of arguing and reaching consensuses.

I have never posted in EVO.

I am pretty sure the guy is just angry that he cannot rape 14 year old girls. Yeah, no one is going to support that, you sick fuck. Changing the system to highest-roll-decides gives idiots like that freedom to do anything.

The difference between this quest and E.V.O is that this quest doesnt give player 100/100 freedom. You cant sprout wings or mindfuck som- wait psyrims can do that still not the point. There are limits to what you can do. Meaning trying to slap someones shit can get you killed. Though i understand anon 1's concern for some opinion being left out or circle jerking, like i said i usually combine all ideas even when there is consensus. Rolling though may sound good when defining the effectivness but it is prone to go bullshit. İ dont run a fullserious quest as you see there are jokes and references but also i try to keep this quest alive and by alive mean not player size,>>16887101
no, i want my players to feel the universe and sympathize with characters. Yes i am a noob and probably suck at it still i try and i will continue to try because this is the kind of quest that i want to DM.

I gave that list because he seems to think that consensus style is not feasible and I provided him with clear counter-argument which can be checked and verified .
