They thought they'd keep me down, but they were wrong.

Come join us in the IRC. Suptg's IRC channel is #FiveNationsGeneral.

Last time we were all together we were readying ourselves for our blitz against Onooki. With the tide shifting in our favor the only things we need to watch our for are Kisame's fusion with Samehada and of course Leader's inevitable retribution.

You crunch down on the soldier pill and feel your body hum with energy as you sign at lightning speed calling up a fair sized salamander who hears your orders and shuffles towards Kisame.

You flicker forward and reach to put the tag on Onooki before one of Satori's bodies slides in front of you and grabs for your head.

    (Dodge or block?)

Chakra, 1. Grit, 4. Health, pretty sure we're untouched.

Satori's fat body is dead, his other paths are close to him, save for the Human Realm which is behind you now, and is about to act.

Your salamander rushes at Kisame who lets the thing chomp hard into his thigh and and shake his head, causing blood to pour out of the man's thigh as his Samehada fuses completely and now he grabs your salamander and hurls it into Aya who lets out a yelp of surprise as she tumbles with the heavy salamander. "Water Style: Dome of Eternal Water!" The water bubble begins to flow all around him as Satori and all his bodies except the Human Realm jump away from it. Your team-mates and yourself are helpless as the water washes over you all and the sensation of Kisame's hungry eyes watching you fills your chest with fear.

Up to you, really. If you want the water one remember they're more healer than warriors.

    >>16740317
You ready your sword with one hand as Onooki starts to murmur a little as he begins to come to. Satori, who is outside of the bubble, sends his bodies to form a circle around the sphere of water as they all put their hands together and you see them light up with chakra and begin chanting. Kisame, laughing, begins to shoot towards Gen and Aya, teeth gnashing as your comrades ready themselves for battle. Orochimaru and Sasori both move to try and intercept Satori's bodies but see Kakuzu's hands flash as he launches a javelin of lightning into the sphere, shocking all parties within.

    (Erryone takes 15 damage.)

A, however, manages to rally himself as he stands up, far outside of the battlefield, shakes his massive head and charges himself up, rushing at Kakuzu and finding his charge stopped short as he locks up and hits the ground, face-first shaking slightly as you see an invisible barrier-jutsu flash briefly as A hits it. Minato is busy focusing his chakra as he clenches a tag.

Well if we want to intercept Kisame I'd say we could use our Iron wind and Supreme cut in conjunction with each other and throw it at him, then we Shunshin to where Kisame is if we can (by converting some Grit into Chakra) or have Tomaru reverse summon us there.

Also what are Mei and Shikaku doing op? We could try to signal to one of them to help with Oonoki.

Let's go with fire actually. Since we brought it here to fight it'd make sense. Have the salamander change tactics and go bite Satori's main body in the face. He'll either have to stop chanting, and push it away or he'll have to take on some damage.

In the mean time Mei can use earth jutsu right (lava is fire + earth I think)? We should signal to her to activate one to slow down Kisame while we attack either him or one of satori's bodies from range depending on who's closer.

You release Onooki, letting him drift away from you. Almost as if they were waiting for it, a rush of snakes lunge outwards and pull him close to Orochimaru and Jiraiya, both of them giving you your space.

The sharks rush towards you and with a flash of your blade you slice them to ribbons, the chakra starting to reform around you already as you feel your lungs starting to burn, stressing from the lack of oxygen. Physical exertion makes this even harder on you, but you can do this, you won't fail now.

Tomaru suddenly contacts you, "Master Shimaru, I can feel you suffering. This isn't a time we need to be working at less than 100%. We can attempt something, but it will be extremely risky. It will take both of our willpower in tandem and lock us out of our chakra. But....we'll be a physical combatant like none other."

Kisame chuckles, "Is there a problem, kohai?" He asks as he flashes his fangs and is suddenly next to you before you can react, slashing your arm with his claws as he winds up ten feet behind you, licking the blood from his nails.

"Master, with our current exhaustion I can't complete the technique...we either need to focus down and try to make this work...or we need some help. If you can call another salamander forward to give us the stability and chakra we need, we can try it one more time."

    Gorgeous.

You grit your teeth and force your body, mind, and almost your spirit to work with Tomaru's as he tries again. This time the scales slither all over your body and the sword shrinks more and more before your right arm, the gauntlet floating away in the water, grows massive and muscular with a large clawed hand at the end of your arm. The rest of your body covers up in the scales as your muscles throb and swell, your lungs easing again as the water passes by your lips and into your body then out your nose. Your eyes shift and you can see chakra now, see people's auras. Your heart beats a millisecond behind Tomaru's before you hear your heartbeat loud like a drum, united with your blade's.

A heavy tail emerges from your lower back and stabilizes you in the water, giving you the ability to move as quickly as you normally can, your webbed hands and feet also aiding in this as your jaw lengthens painfully into a large maw. Lastly your right arm explodes outwards with a wicked set of bones, curved and spurred bones, before they recede back into your skin, awaiting your call.

Kisame sneers, "Kohai, always the imitator I see. Let's see if I can't teach you a few more lessons before you leave this world!" He says and his tail sweeps once heavily as he blitzes towards you, his own chakra senses, eyes, and transformation giving you even speed with him as this fight gears up to go into over-drive.

    Alright, here we go.

Your arm rockets forward, your tail supporting your attack as Kisame weaves up and around you, finding your blind-spot in your attack where your shoulder's bulk obscures his attack just a little. This proves to be a critical mistake.

His fangs sink deep into your chest and stomach as he throws you bodily through the water with a roar, his claws rending down your back clear through your scales as you feel your chakra vanishing into his claws as he laughs. The pain is explosive and the water around you becomes dark and cloudy with your blood as Tomaru yells in your mind, "That was close! We almost died from that one!"

(He uses 4 Grit, drops you to Wounded and deals damage. 11 T+5 Greatsword Skills+ 3 Monster of the Mist + 2 Samehada Fusion. That's 21 damage to your wounded health.)

You rush towards your sempai again and slash at him again, your heavy claws catching his painfully sharp hide as you wince a bit but finally find a break. You draw blood and when that happens the bones eject from your fingers and back of your hand, deepening the wound as Kisame snarls and flails away from you.

(You deal damage equal to T+Greatsword+5+3 from the fusion. Additionally you deal an extra free T damage because of your bone familiarity and your automatic success. So all in all that's 9+5+5+3+9= 31 damage. Not too shabby at all.)

You can apply a Level 4 and then a Level 1 for T extra damage.

He drops to wounded and then takes (2T+5+3+5)= 31 again.

You see him rushing inwards and this time you feel his claws grabbing your wrists, you feel the iron-like grip settling in and this time you react the right way. You swing your knee hard up into his jaw, slamming his teeth together before your tail wraps around his tail and you tug downwards, opening him up for a double clawed slash downwards across his face, raking out an eye as the bone spikes explode from your right arm digging deep trenches into his flesh as he screams out in pain and rage, the blood filling the water as Samehada does its best to heal him and recover, but not nearly able to keep up to the damage you visited upon him.

If you wanted a more powerful healer Mamoro would have been the one to call." He says and slowly you begin to feel some of your blood returning as the wounds scab over very slowly, a pale imitation of Kisame's regeneration.

    (You heal 8 HP.)

As you look around, a lull having appeared in the battle, you see Satori struggling supremely. His bodies are almost all defeated but a huge white gate appears and from the gate marches the bodies again, fully revived and restored, Satori Prime keeping his distance. When A engages him in hand to hand he pushes the giant away and A calls out. Sasori grabs Satori Prime's arms with his puppet strings as Orochimaru shoots snakes all along his limbs, biting him, injecting him with their venom as A rushes forward and drops a leg-drop onto Satori Prime's head, snapping his neck cleanly in half. However, the body soon vanishes in a fragmentation of light as the body steps through the gate again and smiles, "It will take more than that to kill me."

You see Satori's chakra fading as the white gate trembles before Orochimaru's chakra swells hugely and his body becomes paler and eventually falls onto the ground as a husk of skin and clothing. Satori rises and with a wave of his hand over his face Orochimaru grins out across everyone with the Rin'negan as he stretches his fingers and whispers, "Amazing...this level of power..."

Also, yeah, we should look for Kaji, Misato, and any other Kirigakure survivors. I'm assuming that the mind-control has been broken, but maybe we shouldn't assume that.

To your senses Kaji is above ground dealing with your ANBU Captain friend. He is apparently in restraints, but doing well. Tomaru finally cannot hold the transformation and falls to the ground in his salamander state, panting hard from the exertion.

Kakuzu is standing, surrounded by Shikaku, Jiraiya, and Hanzou who all have him cornered. The Kages are speaking and Kakuzu offers his hand which they all shake and he takes a piece of paper the Mizukage jotted on quickly before departing.

When you approach the Mizukage she smiles, "Excellent work as always, Shimaru." She says and nods, "We have some cleanup. From what Jiraiya-san told me you had to put the village to the torch. I understand your reasoning, and I do not blame you. We will rebuild it, but we need assistance. Kakuzu has sold us all the information on Akatsuki for amnesty and a very large sum of money. I need you..." she starts before Minato puts his hand on her shoulder, "To take a vacation." He cuts in and she laughs before nodding, "Yes. Time off would be good for you. Get some rest, go see the rest of the country, or stay here and help your friends get well again before I can give you all some time off."

"Vay-kay-shan? What is this, vay-kay-shan, of which you speak?"
    Glance at the Swordsmen.
"Maybe once my mission is completed."
We'll take a vacation once the Swordsmen are back on their feet again, or at least, they're all recovering in a hospital.
And if it means we need to build a hospital, well, so be it.

    Va...ca...tion?

Did we do something wrong? Is this 'vacation' some sort of punishment?

Seriously though we can't leave our Swordsmen when they need us most, we need to help fix them.

Fixing people is the opposite of killing them, right?

We should salute and say with absolute seriousness.

"As you command Mizukage-sama, I shall attend to the well being of the Swordsmen."

    >"As you command Mizukage-sama, I shall attend to the well being of the Swordsmen."

"Then so be it." She says.

Weeks pass before your swordsmen are able to finally stand again. They recover quickly past that point, however, but they don't seem to like talking about their internment with Satori. However, after a month and a half they are up and ready to move again.

Village reconstruction has gone swimmingly due to united efforts on the fronts of Mist and all other villages, including Cloud. Though this doesn't speak of long-standing peace, it does indicate a feeling of unity after this event. Orochimaru even makes an appearance to help by restoring the whole wall of the village in a single afternoon with the help of his snakes and his newfound ability to use gravity.

At the two month mark Mei declares you and your swordsmen on forced vacation, where you will be spending on the village's budget and are free to enjoy yourselves. In fact, to enforce her point, she has forbidden you from coming back without resting for at least two weeks.

Shimaru and the 7 Swordsmen on a company vacation.
Why do I have the feeling that there will be shenanigans afoot?

Well, if we're going to take a vacation, I hear that Yuugakure should be a good relaxing spot. At least, if the Hidden Steam Village also decided to become a tourist resort in this timeline.

Shimaru and his swordsmen enjoyed their day off and allowed the time to pass when they returned. The system fell back into its old ways, missions, subtle battles, and the like. Though Shimaru made an unquestionable difference as the world not only respected the Mist again but saw it as a home for men and women with the ardor and determination to serve their Kage with dedication and strength, as well as their fellow soldiers. Many of your Swordsmen eventually put down the blade in favor of younger students, each of them finding a young partner to teach their techniques to before bestowing their blade, as was tradition. Suigetsu inherited his brother's scroll and techniques and even Shimaru passed his blade eventually, giving it to his son, Kisame Yamada, born a scion of the newly founded Clan Kaguya.

Kimimaro was returned to the Mist a year after its rebuilding by an Orochimaru who had healed him of his fatal leukemia. Kimimaro grew up with Shimaru and his wife who both instructed him on the way of the shinobi and how to honor the mist village. Eventually he took wife and was given by Mei the head position as Lord of Clan Kaguya.

Aya and Gen's marriage was smooth and at the twilight years of his life Gen and Shimaru would joke that he couldn't even see half the tattoos he wrote on his stomach as the slight gut he had grown from inactivity prevented it. Shimaru and Gen remained fast friends for the rest of their lives before Gen passed in the night, Aya not long after him.

The Sand village remained distant, but the Kazekage's family went out of their way to speak with you on a regular basis, thanking you for returning Baki to them and not allowing him to die out there in the Land of Fire.

Sasori remained a criminal for the rest of his life, the Sand Village swearing eternal hatred for killing off their Kazekage. However, he never cropped up as a threat again, simply the occasional missing person of note, but nothing more.

Orochimaru, however, was always a public figure. He took up attacking people who stood up as criminals simply as a means to test his limits. He found that he had no peer and so eventually he bid farewell to the Land of Five Nations and departed across the sea.

The very last thing of note. One day in your seventies you were alerted to a knock on your door. A stood there, old and weary, and finally, grudgingly, offered you his hand and said that he forgave you for what you did. He knew it was your duty, he knew that it was simply work all along, but he couldn't forgive you at the time. At long last he finally asked for not only you to accept his forgiveness, but to accept his apology for bearing a grudge. Shimaru, inevitably, accepted.

Shimaru Yamada died at the age of 79 with his wife of 57 years, Yuki, at his side. She lived on to be nearly 200 years old thanks to her Kaguya blood, but always lit a candle under your portrait on your birthday and anniversary. When she passed she was buried beside you, Gen, and Aya by your children and Gen's grandchildren.

    Shimaru Yamada, I salute you.

Also, I find it ironic that the way to eliminate Orochimaru as a threat, was to simply give him ultimate power like he wanted, so that he gets bored and wanders off to find new challenges.

    From the IRC:
Baki is dead, so assumed that his body was recovered and returned to the Hidden Sand.

Kakuzu provided the location of a hidden Akatsuki base where B and the Seven Swordsmen's blades were being kept.

B was found safe and sound and lived a long and happy life as a strong jonin who did honor to the Cloud.
When Mist and Cloud would clash you would find each other on the battlefield and fight for a while before he would stop and lay down a rhyme which you would lamely return before sharing a laugh and a handshake.
