    New Settlement, Besiege Dwarves, I forgot to remove Naga options, Council Based Government.

    We erect a new settlement on the edge of the river. Our people have never seen a body of water as vast as it, and it is shocking to them. We quickly pick up the basics of fishing and erect a small settlement there, surrounded by sandstone walls and constructed a little bit away from the shore to prevent the structures collapsing. It helps alleviate some of the over crowding we were experiencing.

    We march our glorious armies, now reinforced with many new troops of the Naga and our own troops. They aren't as big as they were, but overall we've increased in size. They reach the dwarven cities and find that the dwarves collapsed their mountain fortresses, and committed mass suicide. They refused to be under our thumb. The corpses are desecrated and tossed into a pile, left to rot in the sun and be eaten by the wolves. The armies return and the war is finally over.

    The chieftains step down and the councils ascend. The Council of the Wise is composed of the General of the Army, the Headmaster of the College of Mages, the five Chieftains, a new one having been put in place in the Capital, the Farmer with the largest plot of land, the Mine Foremen, and the Mastersmith.

    The transmogrified warrior died due to complications with the spell. The College tried to replicate the creature but it seems every human results in a different type of creature. It is unknown why this is.

    Our Mages, the Naga's shamans, and with the assistance of the Human-Naga hybrids, which have started to be called Numa, or Haga, depending on the town, start to work on our magic. The Human-Naga hybrids prove the most competent at casting the spell and their spell produces the most consistent result. However, they need the additional magic of all the other mages to cast the spell properly. A system is set up that involves an outer circle of Naga Shamans, and middle circle of Human Mages, and an inner circle of Haga. The magic is funneled from the Naga to the Humans, then all that magic is funneled to the Haga, and then all that magic is used to cast the spell.

    The result is a interesting creature. From the waist down, it is covered in Chitin and has two digitigrade legs Their chest and abdomen are covered in scales. Their arms, shoulders, et cetera are all very human. They are being called Keig. The Keig are physically similar to humans, aside from limb structure. They have short bodies and long arms and legs. This is apparently to facilitate both bipedal and quadrupedal movement. Hair usually grows short and soft covering all along the backs of their body; down from the top of their foreheads, over the tops of their heads and down their back. They have short hair on their heads.

    Their back has medium length, glossy black spines in an oval pattern that covers most of their back, the lowest spine's tips usually ending at mid thigh, and the spines at the furthest edge loop around to cover their abdomen. The spines form a tough armor, able to stop a blade and absorb most blunt trauma, as well as insulate against heat and cold. The spines, however, are very maneuverable; though, must be moved as a unit rather than being able to move each one individually. They are very sharp and serve as an intimidating defense. They are very broad with the top edge being sharp enough to cut easily, and they narrow to a point. Keig are omnivores, but prefer meat. (Sorta just winged it with these guys)

    Tech up, leave the Keig alone.

    We decide to research some new technologies to improve the quality of life across the kingdom. We discover that the golems are actually somewhat magical. They required a special anvil constructed by the dwarves. A dwarf was smashed on the anvil, and his soul was transferred into a golem. We have no idea how they made this anvil, out of what, or where to find it as the dwarves had numerous smith towns within their deep roads. With it all collapsed, it may very well be lost forever. We discover that using the sturdy trees in the mountains we could create boats. They have broad, flat bottoms and sloping sides. They can hold ~40 people and are well suited for sailing the river. We use these boats to explore down the river.

    We don't do anymore experiments, and instead decide to leave the Keig be. Perhaps they will prove stable, perhaps not. No one knows yet. They prove to be fantastic warriors though, and are placed in a special division of the military. They will serve as special forces.

    Settlements
    It has been four generations, and it has become apparent that there are more Haga than Humans or Naga combined.

    We start to settle down after the bloody war and after three generations, focus on peaceful expansion. Two settlements spring up on the border between the desert and the mountains.

    Our warriors have a very strict training regiment that they must follow, and they are kept in tip-top condition. Deterioration in our soldier's discipline and fighting skill is minimal, so far. Some think this may change with time, but for the most part it's not a big worry. It comes to our attention a village has been spotted far to the south, although nothing is known about it and it is barely visible.

    The Keig prove to be fertile, and a few more are added to the ranks of our special forces.

    The Haga have taken control of the vast majority of the government, the Naga are basically extinct, Humans control a small portion of things. The race of our people is officially Hagan.

    We improve our boats. We, using our steam powered engines, create large motors that can propel the ships quickly across the water. We also start including with them electricity, lightbulbs and such things to make them more comfortable. Boating becomes a popular sport amongst our people and many families can be seen taking trips to the beach. We also discover that using certain elements found deep underground we can create a compound that explodes magnificently. (Gunpowder discovered)

    Our warriors become restless and take to hosting gladiatorial games, the reward being honor, reputation, and bragging rights.

    The Humans have completely interbred with the Haga and have died out.

    We explore south, sending a team consisting of ten Keig and 30 of the militia. They discover three villages consisting of Lizardmen, and a large number of Goblin slaves. They greet us as friends and allow us to feast in they're great halls. They're a very tribal civilization, but do appear to have a unified government. They have absolutely no magic, but amazing weapons and armor, and decent tech, they know how to generate steam power.

    The Hagan council allows the Keig a separate division of the Coucil, it has 100 votes, where as the other coucils all have 500 or more. The Keig seem happy with this, and none of them are complaining. They recognize they are a vast minority.

    We use the new exploding powder and conduct experiments on it. We discover that packing it into a metal ball with a handle on it creates a bomb one lobs. It explodes once a internal fuse runs out. The only problem with them is they occasionally explode too soon. (Grenades invented). The explosion can knock a man back and cause burns, but the shrapnel is only good against unarmored targets. It just bounces off our armor.

    After so long at peace our people start to realize that they are lacking from a cultural standpoint. A formalized written language is created out of the remnants of the Naga and Human languages. Our history is recorded from the verbal tradition and what Human records survive from those hundreds of years ago. They also begin to study the world around them.     We ally with the Lizardmen, and they reveal to us their map of the known world. It shows a forest to the West of their settlements, and a village to the West along the river.     The lizardmen were just luring us into the their trap. We decided to wait them out, and while our soldiers around the capital celebrated, the lizardwomen approached them and seduced them. When their guards were down, they were assassinated by the lizardwomen. Then the men rose up and attacked us by surprise.     Your people decide that it has been a long time since they tried to improve their architecture. In the desert castles you build majestic spires and minarets, surrounded by massive stone walls that have an outer sheath of metal.

    Along the coast you build fortifications using stone, and create a great wall of bunkers and cannons, nothing shall get across the river from the Lizardmen side without you knowing about it.

    You charge your forces forward, after reinforcing them of course, and meet heavy resistance. You take two cities and then stall completely, your holding heavily besieged by lizardmen. They roll out great, steam powered tanks, which require a Hagan or a Keig to run up, climb on top of it, and toss a grenade into a hatch in the tank. A very risky move considering they are covering in spikes and used as a battering ram and a troop transport. We are holding though.

    We negotiate and apologize to the protesters, saying it was a lapse in judgement. The people are still outraged though and demand that the councilmen be switched out. We agree to switch out many of the Council of Wise, Warriors, and Smiths in exchange for them agreeing to switch out members of the Farming council and agree to return to their homes.

    We attempt to colonize the lifeless land. We find that Hagan can't survive very long in the realm and all the Keig are away at war, so there is no other race to test it on.

    Weapons, Hold the Line, and Close the Portal.
    After so many generations, the Keig have naturally perfected their genome. They now live much, much longer than the Hagan, and they reproduce with a higher chance of a live child.

    We study our weapons and invent a smaller version of the cannon, capable of shooting a mini-cannon ball several hundred yards. We discover that putting groves in the barrel makes it more accurate (Rifles discovered). After they're fired, a compartment in the side is opened and a self contained cartridge made out of bronze is placed inside, which fires an iron ball. They are somewhat unwieldy but Keig take a liking to them, since they are strong enough to handle them with ease. Hagan need to mount them on something to fire them, but are in general more accurate.

    We hold the line, it seems our new rifles really make a difference. Bullets rip right through the tank's armor. They're forces start to retreat to consolidate their holdings, the attrition from the siege just too much.

    We close the portal, deeming it a waste of our intellect and return to making leaps and bounds in more domestic knowledge. It can be reopened later.
