    >Playing Song of Ice and Fire

Your lands are located in the North

You have moderate Defense, average Influence, a fuckton of Lands, shitty Law, average population, shitty Power, and shitty Wealth.

Your House was founded after Aegon's Conquest, during a period of rapid infrastructure growth. The last lord of your household was a madman, who won a great victory at the expense of much wealth and influence.

    Your holdings are:
Mountains with a river and Ruins, adjacent to the coast, lightly forested.
Hills with a stream, small village, a Hall, and an iron mine, heavily forested
    Plains, heavily forested

You have one unit of Veteran Archers and two units of Trained Garrison stationed in your Hall.

It is cold and wet, bandits are fucking everywhere, you control way more land than you can reasonably hold with your meager forces, you have very little money, and to top it all off your Liege Lord thinks you are a dick.

    wat do /tg/?

Here's a present for you OP. I tried this a while ago, but there was no interest. Best of luck to you though!

Anyway, two things. First, if our liege lord (I'm assuming Ned Stark) thinks we're a dick, we probably done fucked up somewhere along the line. Repairing that relationship should be a priority.

After that, what >>16511768 said. What sisters/daughters do we have to marry off to power? With a fuckton of lands, we have a lot to offer in potential farmland or anything else, in exchange for some cash and a seat at the grown-ups' table.

Why would the Tyrells want to marry into some fly speck House in the middle of nowhere? The best you could hope for would probably be marrying some unimportant son of one of the more prominent Stark Bannermen, or perhaps from the Vale or Riverlands.

Our third son is a bit old for it, but we should try and get him squired somewhere nice to improve our relationships, mend bridges. Maybe the Karstarks or the Umbers.

Important question: Why is our 20-year-old daughter unmarried? You said she's attractive... what the fuck is wrong with her that she's single at 20? Let's fix it and hitch her to someone slightly better off than us.

Skylar Strongcock is a crafty man, tall and skinny, and pushing 40. His father was cruel and died old, but Skylar is determined to improve the family name and restore the House's honor.
However, due to their small lands and the size of the men under his command, Skylar is an avid reader of military history and tactics, and often practices war games with his men and miniature armies.
He prefers stealth and trickery to chivalrous combat when possible, in order to turn the numbers to his advantage.
His high forehead is split by a rough widow's peak, his long dark hair thinning at the crown of his head, but draping down to his shoulders in the back. He wears a close-cropped beard, now salt-and-pepper. Though no Mountain, he's got a wiry strength, and fights with a shield and bastard sword.

Lord Skylar is tall but somewhat lanky. In battle, he prefers the lance and the joust over the sword and the melee.
Skylar views physical violence as a means to an end rather than an end unto itself, but he's perfectly willing to get shit done when it needs to.
He enjoys falconry and hunting. Lord Skylar is also something of an amateur cartographer, and collects as many maps and geography books as he can afford. He thinks that to know the land is to know the people.

Lady Karyn is quite short, as is typical of the Iron Men, perhaps a full 5' on a good day. She has a long, flat nose and rather plain features. She has the Black eyes and hair typical of the Greyjoys, but he hair has begun to grey with age. She is fiercely stubborn, and "Ill mannered" not having the luxury of being raised to know the "Greenlander" etiquette. Despite this, she is a skilled verbal combatant, and far less useless than most noble ladies should push come to shove.

Heavily forested areas can be cut away with logging expeditions that can reduce places where bandits can seek refuge. The wood can be used to produce furniture for export as well as materials for housing and fortification as needed. Also barrels and booze.

Captured bandits go to the Wall. They'll love us for keeping the Watch numbers up. Sorta.

to the west a handful of armored men crested the hill and seeing the battle unfolding charged towards the center flying the Wolf of Stark, you can see Stark in the center with Ice on his back. At the sight of the Lord of Winterfell the Bandits break and fled into the forest but not before several more died to your archers.

You see Criin rush out to meet Stark, a large fat man in piecemeal plate armor riding what appears to be a donkey, best not leave him alone with stark...

"Bring me my Horse!" yelled Sklar, then he thought he should say it, "Cease fire archers." As his horse arrived Skylar departed, but not before saying goodbye to his wife. He road out to meet Stark. When he would arrive, he would bow, and wait for Criins to tell his lie. After that, he would ask for Stark to listen, if he wanted. Skylar had every intention of getting Stark to listen.

That hunting trip is going to be a very damning thing right about now.

    >TL:DR We go out to talk to Stark

grabbing your horse's reins from the steward you hop on and rush out to meet Stark before Criin does, but he seems to have the same idea, he spurs his donkey to greater speeds and arrives....shortly behind you.

trying to blubber from his thick jowls ned silences him with a raised hand and looks at you with an inquisitve stare

"So Lord Skylar...why was Lord Criin Besieging you?"

    Wrong kind of meta

    knowing the setting is good

using knowledge of the players plans that the characters the players oppose wouldn't have to defeat them, or altering occurrences based on player speculation however is not.

"Lord Stark," Skylar said, praying that the sencerity would be appearent, "I sent my men to quell the bandits rampant in my land. When we came across their main encampment, we found a note. It was from Lord Gostrik of Cliin, it said, we will give you monetary support until you force Skylar to his knees and when he is we will come in and finish him off."

"I set up ambush in the woods, so that I could present you with the dog. But, Cliin knows no bounds in treachery. That is all I have to say Lord. "

Agreed. Metaknowledge is necessary for aSoIaFRPG due to the high level of "political" interaction.

As for action, I'm pretty stuck, we're kinda boned here by failplans.
Only thing I can really think of to do is to come clean about the whole bandits/note/suspicion thing. Downplay our... failtrap.

Looking at you from a top his horse, Ned sighs and rubs his forehead, I've been on the road for too long and i need to rest, i was hoping to stay at Lord Criin, but i find him here besieging you, i'll sleep on this before making a final judgement, but until then both of you bring the evidence and reasons why to do this tommorow at sunrise but not before" and with that he spurs his horse to a gallop and summons his bannermen to him

And with that Lord Strongcock invites him into his house to clear his throat of travel dust and to gather a case against Criin, who is no doubt doing the same to him.

this will be continued tommorow at 5 MST, so an archive would be best at the end of the session today we have:

Eldest Son: Ian (who likes to cross wit more then swords)
    Middle Son: Calum
    Youngest Son: Zachary
Eldest Daughter: Edyth (husband who died in a fishing "accident")
    Youngest Daughter: Dina
Watch Commander Kelor (heavily wounded in failtrap may/may not live)
    Maester Herla

    >Lord Gostrik of Cliin (neighbor enemy)
    >ned has a strong dislike of us because of our father ignoring his call
    >the Freys are neutral to us
    >Southron does not know of us
    >Boltons are slightly warm towards us
