Alright, I was stupid Monday. I've got an exam to do in 30 minutes, and after that I want to get some dinner. Don't know why I said I'd be free at 4. I will be free to run this quest afterwards though. So yeah, I was stupid.

Though you guys can still discuss what you want to do for the timeskip, along with other things.

    Also, couple of questions.

What do you want to do about Aidan's raptor?
Were you going to take that receptionist from the Inn out on a date?
    >> Emergency Chair Warmer 09/21/11(Wed)16:04 No.16376615
    >>16376607

In the interest of discussion, here was the plan for the break, so far.

Month 1: Start basic target practice for all security/maintenance personnel. Establish a monthly competition with some sort of prize to encourage people to give a damn. We can bill it as a team building activity. Place order for chain mail/ start paperwork for chain mail. Argue that the cost is justified by the lack of people dying and their families suing for wrongful death. Also, get a damn doctor here. The mainland is not always an option, and we can't afford either guests or staff dying because the chopper was stopped.

Month 2: Use results from month 1 to ID exceptional marksmen. Work on getting them fast tracked to the field. Start doing simulated field ops with existing personnel/potential new recruits. Plan for contingencies and establish chains of command if people injured/incapacitated. Continue bitching about chain mail, because lord know they probably are still sitting on the paper work. Continue bitching about lack of doctor.

Month 3: Take best of the best from previous two months and offer them a spot on our team. Ideally we get people with specializations variety given the larger starting pool. Pray the supply chain gods have smiled upon us and brought us half of the chain mail we ordered. Also, continue bitching about getting a doctor.
    >> Anonymous 09/21/11(Wed)16:26 No.16376831
    >>16376615
Month 1: Okay, I agree with stuff for the most part, but I have some changes.
The chainmail, argue that training new personnel is more expensive than the investment in chainmail. Argue also that even if a worker dies, their chainmail can still be salvaged and repaired; it's a one-time investment.
We should just suggest to the other Department Heads and the Board for getting a doctor and medical facilities on-site. Cite the dangers of guests needing medical attention, especially given the difficulties of evacing them to a hospital on the mainland. That way, it won't come out of our budget, but the Park's budget.

Month 2: Okay. Also, hit up the Internet, order a bulk amount of surplus US Army tactical goggles. Pay out of pocket to get around the whole budget issue. Issue to all Maintenance personnel.

    Month 3: Should be fine.

Also, during this time, work with Juan and Emanual to get the new workers into teams of 4. No less than 2 people on a given assignment when in the Park.

Also, put together flamethrowers. Just jury-rigged ones with flammable aerosol cans and lighters. Enough to scare away compys. Each team gets one.

Finally, recommend people go for tacticool stuff. Tac-vests, flashlight attachments for dart-guns, headlamps.

Maybe on of those emergency beepers for crews.

It's a box that you pull the pin on and it sirens like bloody murder.

At best it scares dinos away, at worst it just let's other teams know another is in danger.

    Not a good idea.
It's been shown that raptors are attracted to that sort of thing.

Better would be a wireless one that sends out an alert via radio. Either direct to Dispatch, or on a special Maintenance Emergency channel.

It's 1994, that stuff's not likely to be found on the internet, even if we have access.
    >> Library Lass 09/21/11(Wed)17:21 No.16377307
As for Aidan's raptor... didn't he have the idea of trying to convince management to let him raise it separately but still under auspices of the park? I think that is potentially an interesting idea... and depending on his success could prove a potential attraction.

As for the receptionist, I'm thinking Porter might as well take her out, see what happens. Just 'cause Porter's blue collar doesn't mean he can't be a gentleman of his word.

    >>16377307
Nah, Aidan wanted to HIDE his raptor from Management. He thinks he can hide it, and train it, and feed it, without someone finding out, or getting hurt.

I agree with taking that receptionist out for dinner though. And with our promotion, we've got the money to take her someplace nice.

No. I am unwilling to compromise with Aidan.
Just because a raptor is as smart as a dog does not make it fit to be tamed. I am adamant in my belief that his ill-considered plan is going to result in the serious maiming or death of another worker.
We should have told him that we will shoot him ourselves when the time comes.

How about we broach the idea of trainable dinos to Dispatch, and see how they react to the idea. If they seem willing to try it, then Aidan looks good for having a 'prototype' all ready. If they are adamantly against it, we put our foot down on it.
