Again you find yourself adrift in the plane between divine realms. You reach out to Neshais realm, and are still able to feel that she is conversing with Catalina there. You ponder, waiting may prove a waste of time, however, if you leave to converse with another deity, you may very well miss Catalina when she passes through this plane on her return to the waking world. And, of course, there is always the chance that the girl will be too exhausted to converse with another god or goddess during this visit to the divine realm. Sighing as you float, you continue to think.

At the end of last session, some people wanted to speak with Lamynus. She seems to have cooled off, but I picture her as the vindictive type, and she probably still holds a grudge.

We spoke with Eago, and I don't think we have any immediate concerns with the other divine.

You bring up a good point. We seem to be more for the Sun Pantheon than the Moon Pantheon (except for Garagush and Neshai), so we should speak with Danarius.
I think it's because we don't enter his domain at all, being an infantryman rather than a sailor. But, we should talk with him, I suppose, to at least get to know him.

We have not spoken with the succubus and basheek.

To be the 7th, we need to establish contact with all the gods. Just contact with the Sun will not do. See these two.

Basheek, we might be able to talk to, though keep in mind that we did have foil a few of his plans, and executed someone who might have become one of his priests.
As for Lamynus, last we checked, she wanted to rape us with fire and burn our soul to cinders. We should check with someone else on the Moon Pantheon side about whether she's willing to talk with us without ransacking our mind or flaying our soul before we make contact with her. Just because we don't detect active hate directed at us from her is no assurance that she won't do something to us.

You take a deep breath, and make your way to Lamynus' realm. Before long, you find yourself in an opulent receiving chamber of what must be a vast palace. You are surrounded by a throng jet-skinned, fire-eyed sucubi, all of them garbed in tissue-thin silks, that barely cover their forms, leaving most all of their skin free. You find yourself dressed in the finest cloths you own, though, in the heat of the room, you do not doubt that you will be sweating soon. All of them possess horns that start just above their eyes, and curve back along the contours of their bald skulls, and spaded tails. Their heels are spikes, several inches long, leaving them no choice but to walk on the balls of their feet, and heels, with the bridges suspended in the air, in addition to modifying their postures to ones more... sensual than is normal. Many of them coo at you as you stride forwards, while a few shy back, though all gesture towards the massive set of obsidian doors ahead of you.

Undaunted by the cruel whips, and wicked daggers also adorning these most powerful of succubi, you proceed through the doors. Inside you see a lone Succubi, deep ash of skin, though where her finely polished, painted nails meet her hands and feet, a faint orange glow emits. Her figure is full, but not obscene, as some of her servants you passed were, and though her feet have the same odd form, they are a good deal longer than those of her minions.

She has a velvety-black loincloth at her nethers, and what looks to be a delicate crimson silken wrap about her chest "Ahh... Justinian Trentz. You are either incredibly brave, foolish, or powerful to venture into my domain. Tell me, which is it?" she asks, not rising from the couch she is luxuriating on.

Extending her serpentine tongue, she wraps her index finger with it, before running it along her long, pointed ear, and along her skull, and back around to her neck, tracing the line where the lowest horn of the three on that side of her head traces her skull, neglecting the massive central, upward-shooting horn, as well as the diminutive outer horn. Her posture and voice contain unnatural regality, her posture pure sensuality, and her form raw power.

You chuckle as you look about the opulent room, several small imps scurrying about with large fans, bowls of food, and other luxurious for their liege. Most of the rooms surface is a light red marble. "A bit of the first and third. To be honest though, I am merely here on a social call... in the hopes that we can get that unpleasantness from before behind us, and, forge a respectful, working relationship."

The goddess rises from her seat, hips swaying sensuously as her steps splinter the marble "And who are you, mortal, to presume to make 'social calls' on the divine. I know of you, Justinian Trentz, and I know of your plans... what makes you think that what you have to offer... interests me?" she asks, running one hand along your back as she circles you, the other now talon-like, and holding a vicious mulch-tailed whip.

Again and again you feel the pressure against your mental barriers, until, with an angry, yet, somehow playful sigh, the pressure becomes a constant "is most rude, and not equal treatment."

Lamynus crooks an eyebrow to you "And what makes you think that we are equals?"

You ignore the goddess' question momentarily "You would forget any grudges you may have against me, or those I hold dear. As most of your temples are destroyed or not for sale in their current state, and, considering the nature of your servants... I am your best option."

I'm not saying that we shouldn't have visited her at all; visiting her and normalizing our relations with her was necessary for the position we're aiming for, after all.

I'm just saying, we should have put her down lower on the list, so that we could have bartered for some soul protection from some of the other gods before meeting with Lamynus. Like Raynha, because we got of worship going her way, or Garagush, because of the same, and we have a working relationship with him and he could have told Lamynus 'no burninating the Trentz'.

You laugh again, ignoring the now deep shoulder wound you have, and the throbbing pain in your head "We are not, you are a member of the Moon Pantheon, and I but a mere mortal. However, several of your peers have shown interest in ensuring that I live, and are successful and would be most displeased where I injured. On top of that, I hold the keys to granting you more power in the mortal realm, keys I would willingly hand you... if you would but treat me as an equal, and allow our relationship to be professional and bear as much fruit as possible."

The goddess withdraws her talon from you shoulder, and, as she struts around to be in front of you again, licks the fingers clean with her serpentine tongue. "Truly, my assault did not pain you?"

You shrug "I have experienced worse."

The goddess nods, before twisting about to face you, a sly grin on her face "I believe that we may be able to come to an agreement. I do believe that you have acquired the Temple to the Ten? I would have my cloister there repaired as swiftly as possible. that, and two new temples in Flumenos, large ones, and I consider our accounts, balanced."

I don't think we can give that to Lamynus, only a guarantee that there won't be any delays in repairs on her section.

While you want those two things, I have already promised first erecting to two others. I however will agree to you that you will not have any impeded progress to the repairs and such to your branch of the temple. I can see you are not one to be slighted and will instruct my man to take utmost care in the restoring of your area in the temple. It is only fit for one of your temperament. The Flumenos temples will have to be reduced to one due to the fact that I am limited in the mortal realm just as you are and only have few funds to draw upon which are split from keeping myself and military might strong and able to influence others to be more accepting of your kind.
    >> Brick 08/26/11(Fri)00:41 No.16068120
It sounds like a reasonable proposal to me. We obviously aren't going to do hers immediately but Janos should have made enough money to begin restoration or building a few temples by the time we get back to Dragonsreach.

Of course we should keep the amount of temples balanced on either side of the divide, both between the gods elements and between the pantheons.

You ponder for a while, allowing yourself to wince a bit when you move your arm to ensure no permanent damage had been done. After a brief moment of near silence, the pattering of frightened imps dashing about on errands the only noise, you respond "Due to previous promises, you will have to wait a brief while for your cloister in the Temple of the Ten to be restored, as first and second have already been given to Garagush and Eago. As to the temples, my funds are not limitless, and Flumenos not an inexpensive city. For now, I can provide you with a single medium sized temple in that city, and a larger one in a less expensive city."

The goddess ponders for a while, before dropping back onto her couch and waving her hand. Moments later an imps sprints forward with a fan. The goddess shakes her head, and rolls to her stomach, and, seconds later a second imp rushes in, garbed in a locked thong, and carrying a tray of ointments. As the incredibly sad looking imp begins to work at the ruby fasteners of her light garments, the goddess replies "The temples need not be built immediately, so long as you are working towards at least one of them in the near future. That aside, I accept your proposition, Trentz." she pauses, licking her lips "Normally, I would allow a mortal to stay, to enjoy my company and hospitality for such a large donation of their material wealth... But your reward is your life, perhaps next time we can properly enjoy each others company." You nod, and turn to make your leave, but, seconds before you press the door open she adds, half moaniningly "If, you uphold our agreement." and at that, as you step through the door, after a brief flash of shocked succubi faces, you are again upon the plain between divine realms.

"I shall endevour to site them closely to where you wish them.

Now, I suppose you have seen some of my little schemes? I was going to ask if had any advice, since they must pale in comparison with yours."

That may take a while. Places where the rich and powerful or close to them, are usually expensive and hard to come by. I make no promises except that I will do my best to find such a spot for your temple.

We shouldn't give away more promises we are not sure we can fulfill, even if we can afford all this jazz we still need to hire mercenaries and purchase other things.
Just tell him that we will take not of his preference and that he will recieve his temples in due time, as fund and politics allow.

Also chat with him about our own plans, it'd be somewhat of an ego boost if he approves!

You sigh "Prpoerties in such areas are not innexpensive, so I cannot promise a swiftly built temple. However, I will endeavour to erect as many temples for you as I do for your kin."

The god nods "I do not need more in number, I need the right sort of worshipper. My faith tends to spread."

You nod, understandingly "Now, as to my schemes... what do you think of them?"

Baashek nods "Your... shadow games, with the Forge of New Divinity is... interesting, if ham-handed. Though, against such a slippery group such sloppy efforts tend to outstripe most other attempts to gather information about them." he takes a breath, glancing about, before he responds "Now, your plans to become the Praetor Divinus, most skillfully executed, and, provided you are not dragged down by those you have trod over..."

You nod warily, knowing full well how capable some of your political foes were, and how deperate they were as well. "Would it be safe to assume that you have no information or advice for me, then?"

The god laughs "I see to the pursuit and acquisition of power, mortal. Do you truly expect me to hand that prize out to every mortal whom asks?"

For a moment, you are dumbfounded, but you quickly collect yourself and reply "Of course not... I was merely curious as to how you would react. I do plan on working with you in the future, after all." Again the god glances about, before nodding to you, and hustling off. In the blink of an eye, you are again in the plane between the divine realms.
