Your best bet is to ask each of your group members what is the best day/time to get a session going. If a majority can make it at like 7pm on a wed. perfect, if not, you don't need ALL the players, unless its a small group to begin with.

Having a game with a few less players than you'd like, is better in my mind than no session at all. I mean, that's the whole fucking point of RPG. Sit down, and enjoy each others company through the common medium of a RPG or tabletop game.

Thanks. The issue with my group is that we are a lot of people (we are 7 guys and 5 girls) and all of us want to be in the game. When we finally agree on a day and time (which takes a long time) we usually have the problem of being too many to play or getting distracted too easily. In the two sessions we've managed to play (I miscalculated earlier) we spent a fuckton of time rolling the characters (first session was DnD 4e and second was 3.5) and after we were finished only 5 of us remained and we only played because I somehow managed to keep them focused. And we didn't even finish the short dungeon in either session.
This is why I'm hoping to get us into more free-form-ish games like Everyone is John or Baron Munchausen. Maybe with those games we can finally run a full session.

well unless you GM'd with a large number of people like this group, I doubt you'll be able to get everyone to play. Also, you spent 2 sessions, but each for a different game. And it typically takes 1 or even 2 sessions for everyone to get their characters in order, especially if people don't have the boos needed. I say give it more time, and try to get a copy of the needed pdf's to your group, so that they can roll up characters at their home, instead of wasting time during the actual session.

Yeah I know, I actually sent them the books so they could make their characters at home before the session but we ended up rolling them there both times. We are a large group because we didn't start as an RPG group. We are a group of friends from high school that kept on seeing each other. Now we are in different colleges (all in the same town, though) and still hang out often. The thing is, everyone wants to play, but we are all disorganized as fuck and everytime we get together we just spend a lot of times just fooling around, which isn't bad butt it's a pain in the ass when trying to organize a session.
I'll try finding a different group for other games. There's a guy in college that plays WoD, maybe I'll talk to him about forming a group.
