We may try again later this afternoon at
6 EST if there is enough activity.

Or 8EST today if there was not.
    ==========================

To answer a few questions for inquisitive recruits I have posted this on the previous thread before it bombed itself.

I suppose its time to recite another passage from the St. Cross Combat Bible

    "
Recruiting yourself is as simple as changing your trip to the appropriate format: Your name with a class.
[A] [S] [V] [M] [E] [Hr] [Hm] being the current classes. You can post yourself on now but make sure to be present when roll call starts. And even then you can jump in so long as your team has a flag secured. By this logic, the citizenry of /tg/ can theoretically never run out of soldiers. This is why a 10 unit limit is in place.

Surplus units can bench on the sidelines and go into Tactical Advisory or Logistics support where they can bot inactive units or replace them outright.

The game then engages in turn phases in which you post orders for your unit much like a massive DnD battle. Then the enemy army goes , then your side goes ad infinitum.

    TA roles
When flag zones are in place, TAs can call in support units that are available to the HellGhast unit at this time.

This can be Supply Drops, [We have one Plane]
Artillery Strikes [We have 3 pieces]
Or Armored Transport [We have 2]

Supply drops allow munitions and crates to be dropped on a location secured by your allies allowing them to reload or rearm as a new class.

Artillery Strikes can fire a long range ordinance with in a specified zone visible to an active unit. Since we're dealing with indirect fire it may not be 100 percent accurate, which is why its good to have them attack in pairs or more.

However take note that once they fire, Artillery pieces must reload the next turn before firing again.

    ARMORED Transport Cars
Bus soldiers and recruits to different battles Along Ragnyll. Normally, soldiers that are trying to recuperate on flag zones must wait a few turns in order to replenish their squad strength. This is a terribly long process. Instead one can call in an Armor transport to supply troop count for a whole squad instantly. Note that Armored Transports take a turn to arrive to the designated flag zone. "

I've also compiled a roster for prospective pilots to look at. Remember, using an armor asset takes up twice as much of roster than regular units. So unless our experience with commanding armor increases, count on there being only 2-3 armor units in a feasible deployment.

[How to get Command Ranks in Armor]
In this case, capturing a factory on the map or an automative asset would be a big help. Flagging hotspots in general increases the Unit Limit also.

If you want a more long term boon, wait till the factor in stilemar is repaired or capture more industrial hotspots like Kolstec.

There's never been a real set time for when IronCommand runs his games but as a rule of thumb on any given day recruiting might begin sometime between 6pm and 9pm EST and the game will end whenever it ends. Which could potentially be 8am the next morning, depending on ICs caffeine intake.

What's the damage threshold for a vehicle locking up? My BiTank stopped responding after that artillery strike, so I have to assume vehicles start malfunctioning after a certain amount of damage has been taken, but there's nothing on their cards to indicate when this starts happening.

4 or 5 grenades will tend to do that to a tank's internal systems. Note that Bitanks were meant for maneuverability moreso than upfront armor resistance.

Alternatively Voss tanks dont enjoy the same amount fluidity our "lighter" bitanks enjoy.

The archives here will serve you well. As for the state the world's in I suppose I can give a digestible version.

" Since the start of the 20th century, man has looked to innovation and evolution as the next rightful path to carry forward the world into a new age. Empires expanded, borders were drawn and redrawn and small cities gathered and became empires themselves. Old grudges however, were revisited with new light.

Take the Valknyr region for example. This place has been the middle ground for every continental war for countless centuries. Stomping this place and her people to the bottom. The Valknyr people lived in plentiful lands within a small cradle of the Spine: A monumental mountain range with only one path through- Valknyr.

Many conquering empires like the Iffram and the Aeon Holy region had stakes in this land. Buying off her people and her property , sometimes whenever hands changed another lowly empire would come in and subjugate it. Until one century- when the people of Voss who were at this point seasoned with many disciplines of war has had enough.... "
    >> Baker Malone !9phgYvH10U 07/23/11(Sat)14:48 No.15679618
    >>15679550

" The Voss werent called the Voss back then, not until they became the Voss empire, and not until Ragnyll split. But when the Valknyr were united as a single brotherhood you can bet that hell was visited on every corner of every empire that ever decided to fuck with them. Pardon my Clovish.

It started as a mercenary army of ragtag Valknyrs who were in every post of every other army that bought up her people and talent for war. And then it boomed into whole states and people wanting to reunite back to their warrior roots once again.

Take for example the former Kingdom of Herra, who had used Valknyr's farming regions to feed their army of Grizzlan Knights, or their trading partners, the Qrloo who profited by buying up the stock for themselves. Valknyrians who had to live with worse visited this curse on the Herrans , and burnt their own farmlands , salted their own soil, after poisoning all the feed weeks and weeks in advance, knowing that they were not going to eat for that long. You can imagine the lengths the Valknyr would go through to not only win a war- but defeat a cursed enemy and right justice on their own terms "

    >> Baker Malone !9phgYvH10U 07/23/11(Sat)15:01 No.15679726
" The result paid off in spades. Not only had the Valknyres defeated a starved and poisoned enemy, they had also swayed the great beasts by curing them of their ills and taking them for their own. They then euthanized the Grizzlans off the market before starting up their own empire.

The people most notable for this move soon went on to become the Ragnyll, meaning [Of rags and nothing ] while the people who made the painstaking sacrifices to fight the Herra were named the Voss [meaning Loss or Lost] who valued sacrifice to make gains. The Ragnyll had believed in a state of stability and the Voss respected them for it, and at times even counted on them when empires were needed to be made.
The Voss then went on a warpath to avenge each and every mark other empires had visited on them and the Aeon Empire who was silent with guilt themselves had stayed relatively neutral.

Meanwhile other empires were on the rise, happy to see that grudges were being settled once and for all. The Iffram nation progressed as a nation accepting of Demihuman talents led by a human Monarch, The Holy Aeon Empire looked to the Enlightenment age to pursue advanced fighting technologies purified of their heretical source. And even the Clovis empire took to the skies and began a business of the whole thing, selling advancement and technological zenith as a way to advance one's own culture above their neighbor.

Meanwhile the Ragnyllians made little to no moves to that effect but instead went abroad not as mercenaries but inquisitive and curious peoples. "

Welcome to a world where ancients have begun to make way for the age of Man, and where old meets new in a time where great turmoil and beliefs will be tested.

Where iron moves at the command of the meek, where science and sorcery have become bed partners in a moonlit love affair and where human courage in these numbing times will be needed more than ever in this dark age before light will see the new century once again "
    >> Helena !9phgYvH10U 07/23/11(Sat)15:17 No.15679844
=====A report on polar Dispositions of Surrounding Nations =============

Because the arms race led to the early development of Ibonyte bonding, and shaped bonding, we may see a rise of Imperial activity due to everyone's interest in our Ibonyte economy and, like the Clovis, may pursue trade relations , alliance, or a bit of our real estate.

The Holy Aeon Empire was dismissive of the Valknyre region's poly-spiritual beliefs, forged by years of strife that had touched our soil. But condemns the Voss' use of the undead as hellish sorcery. It is clear that they are in a position to mobilize but whether they do so during or after our fight with the Voss is another matter entirely.

The States of Clovis have long practiced neutrality on the other continent and have enjoyed years of stable peace and economic growth for it. There were trade talks earlier today at the Capital and we were pledged a good amount of weapons and supplies enough to arm and supply every man, woman, and dog. Their commitment to this war will hinge on how much we are willing to pay them back, but it's sure that they want Ragnyll to win.

The Royal Republic of Iffram has fought on a trifecta of skirmishes with both Aeon and Voss, It is obvious that they are at odds with Voss and may take this oppurtunity to fight them if only to get rid of one of their enemies. On the other hand, an early victory for Voss would mean that the long uncontested Holy Empire of Aeon will finally be at a disadvantage. Their role in this fight, and their monopoly of the Ancients will be the most critical factor in this fight.
    >> Helena !9phgYvH10U 07/23/11(Sat)15:18 No.15679850
Voss in its recent decades have grown nearly 3 times its size since our deperture from their mountain ranges, striking back at the old feudal regions that had used its land as a midground for fighting. At times Ragnyll had lent its talents to help with this expansion, basing our old debts to these regions as "bullying" and "extortion" that had stifled progress for the Valknyres. Today they extend to the east, looking towards the dunes of Qrloo [pronounced Kowloo] , and have established trade relations with them on principle. If we were to follow their path of ancient grudges - Both Aeon and Iffram are most likely their next targets.

Nations surrounding the Valknyre region and Voss specifically had already claimed neutrality under the request of the Holy Aeon Empire.

    Upgrades work like this.

Gain ten kill points (or KP) either by killing ten things, being awarded ten KP for completing objectives/missions or any combination of the two.

The ten KP is then exchanged for one upgrade point. The point can be applied to anything on your character sheet, (Actions, moves, attack rating, damage, etc.)

Now this is speculation on my part, but it may also be possible to get new gear as well. For example a Vanguard squad could use the upgrade point to buy grenades for themselves.

One thing that should be noted, is that depending on the upgrade it may not be transferable between classes. For example is a Vanguard upgraded their attack rating with their sword and then switched to Assault, they would not get a rating upgrade with their new rifle. Health, action, and move upgrades may be transferable, that will need clarification from IC so if you change classes make sure you ask.

That said with the relative ease by which upgrades are able to be acquired (baring the staying alive factor that is) it is recommended that players upgrade multiply classes to create more flexibility with in the company. Having someone who can switch to an upgraded [E] on the fly would be very handy.
    >> Concerned citizen 07/23/11(Sat)15:41 No.15680049
    >>15680038

    On Aspects.
You get ONE and only ONE, so choose carefully.
In order to qualify for a particular aspect you must spend time playing as the class it's associated with. For example someone could play an [S] primarily, but decided to play as a [V] for two battles then switch back never to play [V] again. This would qualify them for both [S] and [V] aspects
Contrary to normal upgrades however Aspects always stay with you no matter what classes you change to. So if an [S] grabbed the Serpent Aspect and then switched to [V] you would suddenly have ninjas.

As for how vehicle upgrades work? I couldn't tell you, but assume you'll need more than ten KP in a specific vehicle in order to be able to upgrade it. but otherwise it's probably the same as infantry upgrades.

    >Declaring squads and the like is only necessary for people that have upgrades they can share like Mana does.

    >>15681490

I have a plan, it's called turrets, lots and lots of turrets

Try to mine the enemy retreat route, then it's up to you.

    >>15681485
Not necessary, it's just that I can extand my upgrade to two person.

My plan is to HE rocket a group or two of enemy from my position, step on the flag, become a Scout, and run NEE until I can go south to the Bridge, since that's been the main idea for defense in the talks.

We'll probably be able to hold a bit better now that we have and engineer and more soldier, while they lack a lot of ranged.
    >> [Bt1]Pvt. Gunther !3QUDPTn2Js 07/23/11(Sat)18:32 No.15681606
I'm going to continue my flanking maneuver around the north and take out that last M. Once he's gone that's pretty much all of their anti-armor capability so I can operate with impunity after that.

"It's LankeST! There's a T at the end of my name! Where are you people from the southern stretches? And what do you mean 'run defense'? What are you pansies in addition to stretchies? Sure I'll break their first advance. Then I'll walk down there and kick their asses!"

Not at the moment, but shoud we feel too much pressure, retreating to the bridge and using it as a choke point is, unless someone has a better idea?

By run defense, I meant, "be a meat sack for Lankest so he don't get all shot up."

As well as "shoot shit and grab their attention."

    >say, can I ask for a supply drop infront of the academy?, that way I don't have to plant a flag to change class to [E] and I can set up a fortification in that area faster

    >of course if there's a chance that the drop will miss then it's probably safer to plant a flag instead
