It is the tale of Veriais, the Diamond World, wrought by world smiths in the time of the Gold Men, when man first walked among the stars. A planet constructed of Crystal and diamond, it's buildings of Gold and Platinum and precious metals whose names have long been lost. A power it was in ancient days, with warriors that guarded it's treasure halls with unmatched ferocity.
The stories tell of a boy, a youth, barely a man, a child called Khonan who came to Veriais with wonder in his eyes and enchanted by the riches on show was caught chipping off gold from a temple sill. They beat him bloody and placed him on the first ship to leave orbit. "Tell all who know you. Tell them of Veriais and what it does to thieves", they told him.
The stories tell of man, a warrior named Khonan, a reaver, a slayer who came to Veriais, to seek the men who wronged him long ago. They tell of the battle that raged among the Palace of Light and the Cycernium. Of the killing in the Streets of Gold and how they carried the dying Khonan back to his ship and sent him away as a warning. "Tell them of Veriais" they said, "tell them of our Victories"
The stories tell of a King called Khonan, the Warlord of the Red Stars, The Star Sword, the Prince without a Planet, Deamon Slayer, Champion of Khorne, the Lord of Battle, who came to Veriais as a conqueror.
