the warning came twenty four hours ago. At the stroke midnight last night. A warning that any who had been on 4chan in the past two months to gather two hundred pounds 90.91 killograms of supplies. And that they would be taken from this world.

The next day came with a rather curtain of light rolling across the world leaving thousands missing in its wake. you're on the edge of this roiling wall of light.

    What shall you do?

you sir are a brave man. Also source pasta?

All those that have currently used 4chan in the past Three months will be taken from the planet and placed on a new world. Those that are taken will be given Ten minutes to gather what they consider necessary supplies and gear. They have a maximum weight limit of 200 pounds of gear or, are allowed to bring one person of their choice along with one hundred pounds of gear and supplies.

At the end of ten minutes they will be instantaneously teleported to a world they have never seen. This world will have an alien ecology that is reminiscent of prehistoric Earth. Each board will be given control of a single crumbling city. Its ruins will contain the basic necessities to survive at a medieval level of technology. The surrounding terrain will vary based and would seem to be all part of a rather large continent.

The Architecture of each city is wildly varied and seems to borrow from a dozen or so different Earth cultures. The buildings, fields and public works are all overgrown and run down at this point and it seems that no one has been here in several generations at least.
Possible issues with Histamine and rejection of non-native protein does not seem to occur when you consume local plants and animals and the ecology seems to be at least for the time fairly wary of you.

Well, I've got an ~30lb B.O.B I'd bring, and then I'd spend the rest of the 10 minutes having my printer churn out as many of the documents in my "Worst Case Scenario" folder as it possibly could.

Over the years, I've collected PDF's, JPG's and internet bookmarks relating to any possible scenario I could ever imagine needing survival tips on. I would become the New World's first Scholar.

"High Scholar, we're having trouble deciding on a shelter- what would you recommend?"
"Well, do you want something temporary or permanent? Does it need to be radiation resistant? What sort of materials are available? Allow me to consult the archives."

The archives would be the first cardboard box I found near my printer to stash all this shit in. But seriously, I think I could survive just about anything if I had time in advance to consult the WCS files. I have no idea why I enjoy collecting this type of information, but I do.

I can't be the only one who does this.

    Physical Description

One of the larger creatures that roams the skies of the planet. Rapedactyls named for their rather robust build, aggressive nature and dive bomber tactics are an apex predator. These creatures have a vaguely dragon-like build. Their Mid and hind limbs are used as supports for a massive pair of wings which allow it to fly and take to the skies. The Fore-limbs are muscular and dexterous ending in grasping claws used to lift prey into the air. Its long neck is also powerfully built allowing it to support its multi-part almost mandible like jaws which allow it to rip and tear most prey items apart as if it was using a set of serrated scissors. Its graced with two sets of eyes, a unique adaptation which allows it to view above it as well as below i

    Temperament

Highly territorial these beasts are considered extremely dangerous and should not be approached without extreme caution. Solitary most of their life spans, there has been several cases of cannibalism amongst rapedactyls. Once a year the beasts will take to the skies for prolonged periods of time, this is normally during the seasonal shifts that cover the planet and cause massive thermal updrafts that allow them to fly far greater distances in search of mates. Males and females will meet in a violent series of courtships where the slightly larger female will often kill undesirable males which try to mate with her. Once bred the female will take to the wing and find a high, secluded location to lay a brood of leathery egg sacks, The smaller male, will trail behind her waiting for the brood to be layed. Once this has been one it will move in and produce a thick mucous that provides nutrients as well as protection for the eggs.

    Ecology

the rapedactyl is an apex predator. It is the primary predator of several large animals including tortolo, racing deer and skapleford. Young rapedactyls, are often prey for other large avians such as Wyverns and, adults eventually will provide the sustenance for innumerable detritvores. During their lives a rapedactyl will display several habits. When younger, they will act in tandem with their siblings. These younger beasts often will nest in areas such as mesas, old buildings and cliffaces near swamps and forests. during this time, the surrounding area will suffer a heavy loss of smaller animals. As they age and grow larger the groups of young will separate and leave for other areas often claiming sections of land roughly fifty miles square. During this time they will enter their longest stable period of slow steady growth, and predation of larger creatures such as young tortolo and racing deer. With increased size the adults will take to areas such as mountains, towers, and even large old trees in the case of smaller individuals. here they will construct a thick nest comprised of feces, the remains of unfinished meals and branches. This will form a heavy stable platform from which they can launch into the air from.
when nest building for the next generation however, females will create heavy structures made of bone and branches. These structures hold the egg clutch as well as they protective mucosa the males will secrete over them. this Cup, will be the last structure a mated female will build. It is here that she will stay and lay a clutch of eggs every four to five years

Jitterbugs are considered one of the more...unwanted things on lenore. Though edible in the loosest sense. Jitterbugs are are not to be cooked. Cooking the jitterbug causes particular toxins that normally are merely foul tasting to turn into mild hallucinogenic compounds not unlike that of certain fungi from Earth. Outside of this, jitterbugs are handy detritivores and will eat nearly anything.

No background check is necessary for body armor, as you cant kill someone just by wearing something. And as its a defensive measure, it doesn't make sense to ban it.

However, in some states felons cant have it, and if you commit a crime while wearing it you get the book thrown at you.

The land surrounding /tg/ is a hilly and rough. Trees often crown the hills and mountains are close by. The remains of a battered road dotted with ancient stone totems leads to it.

In the distance Shapes of what could only be the remains of civilization stand. The settlement is a crumbling mixture of stonework, the buildings reach into the ground and seem to form a network of tunnels beneath. In the center of the city stands the remains of what may have once been a great tower of statue. The buildings are filled with ancient masonry and pottery. At one time it may have been a mining town, plumbing the depths of the mountains looking for its riches. Now, its a necropolis to a dead race.

The weather here is fierce. Winds are a steady fact and come the mid season thunderstorms roar across the land filling the low areas of the hilly country with rain and often causing floods. Several streams nearby become bloated and hard to traverse at this time as well.

They go a step too far. Maybe they shit on your bed as a joke, or maybe they assaulted the local useful girl or maybe they touched you wrong. Now they're dead. Shot, stabbed or pushed off a cliff, maybe strangled or drowned. This person, as terrible as they were had a friend or two. Retaliation occurs. It continues from there, spiraling out of control until only too few are left, and are killed by hostile nature or inability to survive in the wilds. That will be the end.

    The Builders-

Descended from the planets Avian families the builders died out several hundred years ago on the Continent. Originally flighted these creatures seemed to have aas they progressed socially lost that ability and became elegant and skilled workers of stone and metal.

Seemingly biped they as like all species were hexapods at the start. Their forelimbs and midlimbs became fused at the torso but still semi mobile except for a stretch of leathery flight skin between the two sets. It is believed that though not truly able to fly they may have been able to use these to at least glide for period of time.

Their body structure was light but, shockingly durable a fall of ten feet would most likely have been little more than a inconvenience for them and lifting over a hundred or so pounds a common thing instead of a feat of strength for even the weakest of them. To accomplish this these creatures had a large six chambered heart that was designed to feed blood to the body at a vicious rate setting their blood pressure higher than the human normal. To supply the body with oxygen a large multi chambered lung pulled in air via contractions of from stringy muscle fibers that surrounded portions squeezing and expanding various parts to inhale and exhale.

When the wave had washed over me, It felt as if I had been simply pulled apart. Turned to dust, only to find myself the next instant standing upon the broken bones of a world under a strange sun. I'll be bringing a variety of instructional posters, books, etc, including such gems as pic related and camping how-to's. Plenty of drafting supplies and tools, and a half dozen rifles with several boxes of ammo. Walkie-talkies distributed to various friends the day before should allow us to communicate reliably and coordinate. Plenty of medical supplies that my girlfriend's mother (a former nurse) can put to good use.

I immediately locate several friends who are not channers and get them to look at the website before the deadline.

Once we arrive where we're going, I gather the people I know who are channers, we'll get together a sizable group and set about building a community.

Step one: Lay of the land. Scout the surrounding area and determine a defensible position with access to fresh water.
Step two: Leadership. I propose a council system.
Step three: Shelter. We'll need to begin gathering supplies for it.

Very warlike. the guy who designed them basically described the culture as a bunch of who CONSTANTLY try to outdo the other guy.

Ritual warfare wasn't uncommon and from what he's said they actually would wage small scale wars to decide who controlled which city. By killing the current leader in a one on one battle

Expanding on the war like nature, the Avian-dwarves Waged ritualistic warfare. Each year cities gather up a couple squads their best fighters and send them against them to a proving ground. Led by their lords these warriors would duke it out never aiming for the kill but simply trying to make the best, most impressive battle they could.

At the end of a week those who had died were interred back in their home cities as guardians to them. great statues raised in their names and those who survived would recount their deeds during these battles.

Artists would attend as well, carefully creating detailed carvings of scenes of their patrons and home cities that exalted their martial prowess.

Each warrior that takes a part in this battle royale' had to earn it's place. To get to here they had to Fight through a year long tournament and also prove themselves with various feats of skill. with each completion they won more favor until they finally earned their right to bear one of the cities sacred weapons. An implement of war forged with Exacting quality by master smiths and is passed down to each successive warrior troop.

I decided to start a journal, an act of selfishness I'm sure, but should I die out here, I'd prefer leave something to be remembered. Dieing out here, lost on an unknown planet, forgotten, bothers me a great deal. We stumbled onto an abandoned city. Whoever built it looked to be primitive by modern standards, but the stone work is amazing. Most of the buildings are overgrown by plantlife, the jungle trying to retake this place. I know there are others like be around but I've only stumbled across three so far. One seems to be a survivalist, brought all kinds of shit I didn't even think of. One is a rare gamer girl who didn't think this would actually happen; she only brought her laptop and iphone, the batteries of both are already about dead but hearing her music collection really helped on that first dark night. The last is some manchild who won't keep his hands off everyone and I swear he hasn't showered in months. I thought I was in bad shape, we have to stop every hundred feet for him to catch his breath. He only brought a backpack full of twinkies and chips and manga. He made the most hilarious face when we used one to start a fire last night. Under my suggestion, we're heading towards the town center and set up camp there. I figure anyone else who stumbles onto this place will pass by there as well. Night is approaching and I'm on fire duty this time. I'll try to make something visible for miles.

I've been so busy. We got a half dozen people last night and three more today. We've come across a serious problem. We have shelter here, but there is no water. After thorough searching, there are no ground wells, but there appears to be two aqueduct systems, both of them are dry. Someone was smart enough to bring bottled water, but that's going to last another day or two with rationing. I'm going to take a team tomorrow down one of them to find out what's wrong. Hopefully it'll be a blockage and not a structure collapse. Another team will be heading down the other while whoever remains behind will be cleaning up the livable space. We're getting enough people now that we're going to need leaders. I'd rather not have the responsibility but I do at least know what needs to be done and have presence of mind to direct people to do it. I think it's more related to the fact that I shook off the shock of new arrival faster then some of the others. Thankfully there are a few others in the same condition. In other news, one of the new arrivals had a load of solar powered flashlights. Jokes aside, I wonder if we can electrical engineer them into some kind of recharging station for the battery powered stuff. I'm sure it'll be stupid slow, but anything is better then nothing.

Well, We got one of the aquaducts working. It turned out there was some kind of mesh up several miles away that had become clogged with silt. The water isn't exactly clear, but several of us know how to build water filters using rocks, sand and charcoal. It'll still have to be boiled for bacteria but better then nothing. On a more sombre note, while heading up the aqueduct we came across a dead guy in a hospital bed surrounded by life support gear sitting in the middle of a field. With no power, I'm sure he died day 1. We gave him a burial under one of the aqueduct pillars as best we could and took the life support equipment back with us. I'm not sure what we'll do with it, but the parts will probably be useful for something. The other Aqueduct team returned with some minor bad news. There was a minor collapse on theirs, but it might be repairable. With one working, we have more then enough water at the moment so we'll put repair on the backburner. We got our water filters running so that's one problem taken care of. One of many. Food will be the next big issue. We have loads of prepackaged stuff, but that will only last so long. A lot of the plant life is pretty alien, it may not even have the nutrients we need to survive. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Well, today I killed someone. It's not as terrible as I imagined. It was.. well I don't feel a thing. Not a damn thing. The manchild had stumbled into some kind of melee weapon cache the locals had hid. Huge stuff and surprisingly in good shape. Swords and spears taller then I am and each a work of art in etched detail. Manchild decided to get revenge for burning his sailor moon manga collection to start the night fires and came charging at me with some kind of short blade. He cut a huge gash in my right arm about 4 inches long. Instinct kicked in I guess and next thing I know I have my knife tearing through his throat. He died a few minutes later. Luckily someone knows some medicine and stitched up my arm. Some of the others ordered me to my housing while they decided what to do. I don't like where this could end up. From my window, I can see that others are starting to carry around the smaller examples of the weapons found earlier. This could easily go all wrong and spiral out of control. Lastly, someone new wandered in to town with a shopping cart filled with what looked like a stereo sound system, a cd collection and a portable dvd player. I swear some people are so fucking stupid.

so, we're living in the remains of a dead city of a dead race? I'm alright with this fact. Sorta it means we have the advantage of lots of free shelter though at the same time its gotta be rife with wildlife taking advantage of this fact.

    Such as these.

    Night Thief

A form of mammaloid, the night thief (as its name implies) is a nocturnal animal that scurries along at high speeds catching small insects and climbing trees to eat the fruit, however, when doing the latter the night thief is very selective as it is highly susceptible to most forms of plant toxin. As it is small, agile and nimble, it feels at home in most terrain and it's only reason for staying in one place too long is an ampile supply of food that it eats using it's powerful multi-part jaws . A timid creature and favourite prey of several animals, the night thief prefers to shy away from open areas but often find itself lured there by an insects carapace reflecting the moonlight as it's favourite thing of all are small shiny objects

Well I've been set free. Everyone agreed it was all self defense. I'm being watched though. Even with a wounded arm, I've been told to go out with one of the survivalists and two others on a hunting/exploration expedition. We're set to be out for a whole day and a return tomorrow. I'm taking two spears I managed to cut down to a useable size. Someone came across a structure filled with stone tablets covered in writing no one can read earlier. We don't know what to make of it. Over the course of evening, we sat around the fire and discussed what could of happened to the locals. The city looks to of been abandoned less then a century from the overgrowth, but that's not even a solid estimate. We do know there are no graves, at least none we recognize, no bones laying around the streets and no physical sign of a big battle. They're just all gone. The best guess is that they all left for some reason. We're not even sure what the locals look like. There are some statues of bird things around, but those could just be aesthetic. Well, I am getting to sleep early, I have a big day ahead of me tomorrow.

    Imps

Leaping and gliding through the trees are relatives to the mighty wyverns and Rapedactyls. Small by Planetary standard these creatures are curious and adaptive learners. Standing at their highest five feet and gifted with long prehensile tails for balance these creatures seem to be almost primate like at times.

Moving through the trees on powerful rear legs and using wings comprised of their Fore and mid limbs they are seem to be adapted well to life in the trees. Small powerful claws allow them to climb trees easily and a long neck allows it to use a four part beak to pry out its favorite food(insects) from trees.

Arboreal creatures they travel in small packs of adults and juveniles across the vast forested areas of the land. searching for feeding grounds. Communication between imps would seem to be a complex series of whistles, screams, clicks and throaty growls, showing a highly social and intelligent creature. Social stratification is apparent and tool use has been recorded in the gathering of food.

Fuck am I glad to be back in town. That lasted far longer then anyone expected. We went out hunting and exploring and the first day went fine, but when night fell, fuck we were being followed. We knew it was there, we could hear and smell it but but we couldn't see it. It was always hanging around the edge of the clearing we had set camp in. We tried hunting it down but it always evaded us and we even lost some supplies. We ended up completely lost. We ended up surviving off these fruit things we saw some of the other wildlife eating, so we assumed it was safe, at least for them anyways. They tasted like apples but had this orange like peel to them. The days were filled with lost trudging through the jungle, the nights filled with unease as that whatever it was would return. We're calling it a Nightstalker for now. It puts us all at unease but hasn't made a hostile move against us. Sheer luck, we ran into another group of arrivals that had been set up in a cave, about 10 of them. They had been surviving off these deer like creatures and a stream in the back of the cave. They also happened to know where one of the aqueducts was. They had discovered it recently but hadn't followed it yet. We followed it all the way back to town with them. The information they picked up out there will really help us all, as they had a good idea what was edible and not and the ways of the huntable animals out there. I wish I could take a shower, but there's nothing of the sort short of a sponge bath. Even so, we're all starting to smell. Some worse then others.

Imps are nesters, they will form a series of woven 'baskets' in which family groups will relax and rest during the short night periods or inclement weather. Males and females do not seem to form what could be seen as a strong bond rather a single alpha male will often choose a small selection of desired females leaving the others for lesser males to squabble and fight over.

sexual dimorphism is hard to tell at times. Both genders are a lurid red and yellow mottled pattern with males having brilliant blue eye markings that seem to serve no purpose outside of mating. During the mating season these blue markings develop further into complex patterns across the body as a long dorsal ridge appears.

Imp egg clutches contain up to several small(baseball sized) leather pouches covered in the gooey mess that is used to facilitate growth in this state. over a period of ten weeks they will hatch and be effectively ready to survive in the forests.

A lot of our medicine supplies are now critical after the wounded were treated. We may still lose a few of them due to the severity or infection. Only time will tell. We're doing what we can to make them comfortable. This has been a major blow to moral. The town's been pretty quiet since. A few have suggested that we lock up all the guns, but lock them up where? Yowlers start life as a large snakelike creature, easily seven to eight feet in length it moves through the murky waters of mangrove like swamps preying on fish and water birds. when the dry season occurs The snakelike morphs begin to undergo a rigorous change. Diving into the steadily drying mud they bury themselves. Stored fat and protein is readily converted into the needed energy to transform into its adult life cycle. Six powerful legs begin to grow from the serpentine body allowing it to climb and hunt on land. Their rib cage expands forming a powerful cavity that supports a large set of lungs and a robust heart. The jaw line defines and elongates, hardening into a dense bone face allowing it to dig and root through the soil. Its tail, the last reaming portion becomes tipped with a bony stud, a holdover from the nymph stage of life.

The adult, at first several feet long steadily grows. the largest recorded creature easily reached twenty feet and several hundred pounds or more. An apex predator they prey on anything smaller than themselves including each other. Fiercely competitive, older adults are often covered in a patchwork of scars and fresher wounds from previous encounters. Mating is not set to a particular time of year and rather seems to be something triggered by either Lunar cycles or possibly some sort pheromone trigger. Females, larger and slightly more aggressive than the males often take harems of smaller choice males and kill off those that attempt to enter without permission into its territory. Both genders are a murky pattern of browns, reds and yellows. allowing it to blend into the dense foliage of the swamps.

Females bear live young which number into around a dozen small snakelike nymphs which will flee from their parents sight as soon as possible lest they be consumed by their hungry parents.

Two weeks. Well, at least I'm still alive. Anyways, the night game went well. The day though.. Well, one of the porkbeasts decided to raid the food supplies and ate about three days worth of rations. Stuffed himself silly. We're trying to decide what to do with him. I suggested sending him to the still broken aqueduct and have him work it off. Someone else suggested putting him on permanent cleaning duty and take away his supply room rights. A few want him dead, made an example of. We're all really fucking pissed off at him regardless of his eventual punishment. Later in the day, one of our hunting parties returned with some five foot tree gliding thing they captured. Several people with biology backgrounds are going to be going out with the hunting teams to start categorizing all the wildlife out there. Someone, as an experiment, set up a series of small waterwheels on the Aqueduct streams and connected it to some kind of generator he made out of spare parts. It's not enough to power much of anything. A few people have managed to partially recharge their phones and mp3 players with it, and finally we have some fucking music. Winding through the swamps and rivers are large serpentine beasts related to the terrifying Yowler. Individuals easily can reach up to twenty feet in length.

Built like a mixture of snake and crocodile these creatures hind and mid limbs are stubby and have little purpose outside of pushing it along under water. A long fin rises from its back allowing to undulate for motion and its forelimbs are slightly longer and more developed, allowing it to hunt in the muddy bottoms for its preferred prey, shellfish.

The beasts head follows the basic phenotype of its cousins, a hard bony second skull protects it and serves an anchor point for powerful crushing teeth that are located in the front giving it a slightly buck-toothed appearance. Its long ruddy colored body ends in a narrow, bony tail that acts as an oar when swimming and during mating season the males at the time will develop bright blazes of blue and gold along their flanks.

Amphibious they need to surface fro air and will come onto land to birth young, and to look for mates. Mercifully these great serpents are not aggressive unless you happen to be a tasty looking shellfish or small animal(chicken sized) as they are for the most part obligate piscovores.

I've noticed several people going through nicotine withdrawals over the last week, but no one going through caffeine withdrawal. Back home, I couldn't do anything past morning without my daily dose. Must be something in the food. Anyways, new problems. We're starting to run low on ammo. Some people brought more then others, but about half the guns we have now have one magazine or less, and the damp weather isn't great for them mechanically either. Someone said they actually know how to make recurve bows with the right materials. Right materials being the key word. He'll be surveying the trees and animal parts for the right kinds of materials. Several people claim to know how to fire one, so if he can manage to make one, we can learn from the others how to use them. We also got a group of around 30 new arrivals today. They said they initially numbered around 50 and were inhabiting some ruins miles away near a river that had an orchard of some kind. They said their numbers were picked off slowly by some kind of massive winged predator that would just snatch them off the ground and fly away with them, followed by echoing death screams as it devoured them. I have little reason to distrust their story, they all have that look about them, sunken eyes, always looking to the sky, fear. The prospect of a flying monster has kept us from planning an expedition to check out the place, and the exploration teams are being extra careful. Speaking of which, I'm scheduled to go out with the next group. We shouldn't get lost this time around, we have the area better mapped out now.

    wigglers(name change pending)

Squat bodied creatures. These amphibious animals are found nearly anywhere the builders were. Wigglers live much of their life in water, feeding on detritus, small fish and parasites and anything else that might be able to fit in their mouth parts. Four 'legs' allow it to move across the bottom of pond or shoreline using numerous small suction cups to grip the surface. Its 'face' is flat and rather comical. Two mouth parts open outward creating a sort of scoop that allows it to catch falling prey and to suck in nearby floating detritus. It's armored back is comprised of a single heavy shell which has six hooded holes. From these holes meter and a half long tentacles will extend out to reach for nearby prey and objects that catch its interest.

Sensory wise the creatures are rather dull...a set of compound eyes stare out and above it allowing it to spot object which reflect light in the water often a sign of small fish or bone, both things it enjoys. Females are slightly larger than males with the largest female found measuring a staggering five feet in diameter for a female males on the other hand have only ever been found at a foot in diameter. The creatures reproduce through spawning much like Terran mollusks. The spawn, small and numerous often will cling to their mothers back until they reach an inch in size at which point they crawl away and fend for themselves.

Wiggler females live for around fifty years while the much shorter lived males may make it to ten at the best of times.

I had the weirdest dream last night. One of the builders, those bird things, was sitting next to me in camp, singing. I don't remember what the music was, or what it meant, just that it was hypnotic. That's all I really remember. Anyways, today was busy. We came across the northern marker, a series of ruins we think was a guard post or trading post of some sort, did some poking around to no avail and kept going. Gathered some samples for later. Had a run in with a Yowler that could of put me down if not for the sharpshooting of the team leader. I owe him. By early evening, we came to the edge of the jungle and found plains and a river running east/west. There appears to be some kind of partially collapsed tower structure out there, we're going to take a closer look tomorrow.

We explored the ruins today, looks to of once been a tower around 5 stories tall, possibly an observation tower or part of an early warning system, or maybe home to some lone crazy. The top half is collapsed but the lower half is still standing. Nothing of interest inside except some artwork or writing. It's hard to tell. I took some rubbings of it using some paper and charcoal we had with us. Someone might find it interesting. We caught sight of something big in the air, miles away. Just a dot in the sky. Because of this, we moved back into the jungle for the night. Tomorrow we're heading back to town.

Well, back in town. We rushed the last few miles due to potential Yowlers. Five people have died since we left. One due to some kind of food poisoning or possibly even allergic reaction. We don't know. the other four died in some kind of power grab. Some asshole decided to announce himself king and claim all the women. He's dead, but so are three others he got to before he was put down. As if the world isn't hostile enough, we have assholes killing each other. Anyways, one of the samples I brought in looks to be a good contender for a farmable, some kind of tuber. Looks like a green potato but tastes kind of like Broccoli. Some people have been preping a clearing and have been trying to grow some stuff. We'll see how it turns out. For the most part, none of us seem to be suffering from malnutrition, but there are whole other issues we're dealing with. Speaking of which, the pain isn't so bad now. Anyways, there's a Pathfinder game soon I'm going to go watch.

A lake fish found all across the continent they seem to have originally been a domesticated livestock species of the builders. Reaching up to eight long and easily weighing upwards of a hundred pounds these large armored fish lazily float along in the mid ranges of the water.

predatory only in the most mild sense they use dozens of specialized barbels to ensnare prey and poison it. These long whiskers, located radially around a large mouth are easily cleaned and preened by the fishes long muscular tongue. This tongue has simple plump fingers that can grab the ensnared prey and drag it into the awaiting mouth to be consumed.

Easily caught with some strong rope and a tender piece of meat set out to drift these fish taste a bit like tuna...

When it jumped it looked like something out a horror movie a big old brute with lots of platey scales. I tried hauling on the line, and got nowhere, damn thing dragged me in almost.

I woke up today and it's chilly. This does not bode well. If it is indeed Winter is coming, we're totally unprepared. We have people gathering as much firewood as we can, pretty much clear cutting the bordering forest. Clothing is going to be a problem, most of the creatures we've been hunting don't have the right kind of skins for proper leather. Food is another issue. Though we moved completely to the local fauna and flora for sustenance, we haven't had the ability to preserve much of it at a time. No salt. We have plenty of shelter, but it's far from weather proof. We're all wracking our brains for ideas how to deal with the possibility of an oncoming winter. There's too much we don't know. How cold it gets, does it snow? How well do the plant and animal life handle the winter? How long does it last? Too many questions. If winter comes, we may not survive it.

    Dragons Teeth

Not a single artifact but rather a collection of them scattered across the world. These four foot by four foot box like objects are actually semi-sentient machines that follow orders of people. Though programmed to understand the language of the builders they can learn at a steady rate and can be taught to do a number of tasks. Dragons teeth can operate continuously in daylight, gaining energy at a steady rate from Sun II. They also will gather energy through the use of things such as wind talkers, and oddly consuming alcohol. Outside of these power sources a Tooth, will operate for around 72 hours.
Its been noted that the Teeth have several odd habits and seem to have personalities. They will at times gather in groups, as if socializing and will at times simply wander off to investigate something that they find interesting. They also will not attack a person if they are commanded to but, should an artifact such as a lesser spear be brought into range without being first keyed to them, they will attack the holder or user with shocking force. It may also be possible to teach them to identify enemy soldiers though this has yet to be attempted.

More fucking rain. Some good news, one of the exploration groups we all thought were lost returned today. They say they discovered the ocean, and brought some samples with them. They were of course thoroughly soaked as is everything. With some work, we might have a source of salt eventually. This is some good news. Now for some bad news. I've developed an odd numbness inside. It's hard to explain. The "xeno adaption" pain has finally faded but now I can't feel anything. This doesn't bode well. What other changes is this place going to have on me? I asked around and I'm not the only one. I wish we had some actual doctors.

Well now. Thats interesting. Also /k/ can cheat.

    The alchemist

Located deep in the heart of Mossingburg is a strange place. A hundred square feet of machinery sits idle. Its various parts covered with the dust of age. This ,thing, is referred to as the alchemist. A machine able to take simple materials and refine them. It seems to be semi aware of its nature and when first found it made itself known. Moving its various arms and flashing lights, letting the world know it was still awake.

the Alchemist is a machine for making tools, simple machine parts and refining materials to a higher quality. The trouble is, its a builder artifact as such English, Spanish or any Earth language doesn't really transfer the idea. Giving it a sample of what you want done seems to work well enough though.

Located in the center of the chamber is a raised platform. It is here that materials used to build something can be placed. upon the floor around it are various glyphs and Icons from the builders touch these will cause the item to be made. Should it be given a new schema to work with it will produce another glyph to be used that can be placed upon the floor which will integrate it in as part of the system.

Several fruiting bodies which though delicious in fact seem to contain some for of local anesthetic that reacts with the human body. though each fruit only contains the smallest traces. it does not readily break down without ingestion of alcohol or by being dipped into said substance.

    Journal Log: Day 30.
30 Days. I've survived a month on this hellhole. Not bad. It stopped raining today, but the sky is still cloudy. We're working on clearing the standing water with home made push brooms. A few engineering types have got our waterwheel working again and have reenforced it. Interesting to note, several of our buckets have caught some kind of tiny minnow like fish from the rains. They haven't shown up in the puddles however. A few have theorized they dig into the ground for some reason, and just weren't able to in the bucket. Someone apparently actually ate one of them, raw, on a dare. What an idiot. Speaking of food, the preserves seem to be working out okay. We don't know how long they'll last, but they are edible. We're going to try and get some normalcy in here tonight and run a game of D&D while another group is going for a 40K match. Should be interesting.

The reason why we would get devided is because life on the boards will be vastly different than to life on the planet.(some people have different values/lifestyles than the 'board' does, eg. /b/,)

In fact, the only reason why the boards might stay together is because they won't be able to find the others at first so they have no choice to to stay together for protection.

By the time a good system of travel is reinvented and we have found other groups that we would rather be on, we would probably have children who only know about the current setup and just live with it.

One thing about our culture we should try to enforce is the fact that Earth is out there. That we were taken from there.

    also

    Gigants

Scattered around the world are suits of armor. Standing thirteen feet tall they were built for the builders by the Giant to show them how to be a mighty people. During the fall the armors fell quiet and were left in hidden places. Saved for a coming battle.

Now that battle is on the horizon. The armors twitch with life once more. though built for the larger builders. A human can use them with a little work. The metal beasts seem eager to fight. The users minds flit to thoughts of war even before they roar to life. Ancient engines whirring to life.

To wear the mighty Gigant a man slips into like a coat. Their arms fit into the Gigants and their legs sit within theirs. A warrior can see through a special lenses set into the chest plate that allows them to view through the machines head. Their movements are perfectly mimicked and it is believed that a wearer can lift several hundred pounds with a fair amount of ease.

It is a hungry beast though. A single Mote stone which is placed within a special socket of the interior of the machine down near the hips is only able to power the machine for two days of constant movement. standing still even when inside it seems to eat almost no power though.
    >> Anonymous 04/10/11(Sun)00:34 No.14540051
    Mote Stones

These various sized glowing green orbs are said to be drops of blood from the sky god. Each stone is covered with an intricate series of glyphs and glows with a faint green light. When placed within certain receptacles these stones seem to transfer immense amounts of energy to them causing artifacts to function that had not worked prior.

over prolonged use the stones will lose their glow indicating they are losing energy the only known way to recharge them is to take them to special alters located within Wind talkers. here they must rest for a year and a day before they are able to be used again.

There is another more violent nature to the stones. When certain glyphs are pressed in sequence. They will begin to flash, this serves as a warning for within two minutes the stone will release all of the energy it did have stored within at once, effectively electrifying everything as if it had been struck by lighting within twenty feet of it.
