Right, Foolscap and SoapwRX have the job of figuring out what Soap knows, by following him in PsiCiomm and maybe tagging the thing that originally got him.

Note that they aren't there to save him.

There is also the job of claiming the group of neutral territories to the south of our main base, connected by the highway, as indicated in this fabulous map OC made some time ago.

There's also the task of doing something to assist in the second half of the FEX fight. Don't care what it is.

And finally, there's covertly saving the last Femto personnel but doing so in such a way that the timeline isn't mucked up. Naturally, she's gonna have to know that we jumped through time.

Take your pick, and just remember, try not to fuck up the time line and make paradoxes.

The Fortress collapses in on itself as it deconstructs itself and blinks out of existence.

Commander Geist watches from the bridge which smelled of cigars and rum.

Walker, and a good chunk of Bravo- gone like that.
Orbital Command is currently under a high fever, her processors going on back up. The video feed cut off as a gloved hand pressed the stop button.

Smelling of ozone from the transcription port,
Fierstrom and her cadre of female knights gave a noticeable leer at the command screen as their eyes were transfixed on a frozen black hole. Fierstrom had shown an age that would nearly match Walker's. Her chiseled features showed more prominence as her blonde hair was showing shocks of white as she stood resolute like a statue that weathered centuries of time.

Her underlings were told to give her and Geist some space.

The empty bridge hummed with the holographic screen of the event as Fierstrom sat in a chair that - only 2 hours ago held the presence of a memory.

" Tell me, Geist, " She mused, "any reason why you keep that ring around you neck ?"

As Geist's eyes glanced down from the screen to the ring, they took on a distant look. The bridge still reeked of Rear Admiral King's after battle celebration. Where the man got so much rum, he couldn't say.

"All right! Rise and shine, soldiers! We've got a big day ahead of us!" he said, clapping to rouse the sleeping soldiers. "We've got stuff to do in the two weeks we got thrown back, so no slackin'!"

"Krieg, you're with me. We're heading to the base to requisition a few vehicles that I know won't be deployed at all in the next two weeks. With the two of us, we shouldn't raise any suspicions."

"Fools, Soap, apparently a part of Orbital is aware of where we came from. You can rely on her for what you need to do."

"The rest of you, we're going to be moving south to capture the neutral facilities there. So stay here and clean up camp until we get back with some transportation."

"If you have any ideas, squad radios will do. They should have the range so that we can still talk to each other. If you have no questions, then lets move out!"

    >Heading back to the base with Krieg to requisition some used vehicles from the motor pool. Both of us have authority, so we can just BS our way through everything, really. And I know that these vehicles weren't deployed, so it's not going to change anything in the timeline.

My presence on the ground, being unusual, results in McMillan, who is on the ground, in "catching" a "Walker doppelganger or impersonator." He sends an assault party to catch this individual, and as a result, I can't get back on the base.

However, I do escape with an Armored Gyro and a bunch of guns/supplies.

Domino's two constant guadians suddenly shifted.

Ash steped backwords as comet marched out of the room. He looked down to domino, and while the holo man could say nothing he gave a look. A look that said it was going to be okay.

Comet wandered the halls with a purpose. Now wasn't the time to be stealthy or cautious, but as he neared the clone storage room his steps slowed and he was constantly aware of any and all people around him.

He searched the tubes untill he found the one he was looking for. The one of his master. Comet quickly plugged in and in a few moments the alterations were done. Comet left as silently as he had came.

Dragon recived the confirmation and smiled.

For now he was going to be put on ice, just like Walker ordered

Blaze woke up in his cryo cell, surprised and confused. He stumbled out onto the floor, hacking up blue slurry as he asserted control over his new body. That was two missions in a row he got killed. He just didn't understand. That was his last meatsuit. So why...?

The crew watched him warily, this time with stun weapons and gravity guns to subdue him if he flipped out like last time. He simply kneeled there, hands on the ground, coughing blue gel onto the cold metal floor. And then he slowly started laughing. He hacked up droplets of the cryo gel, his laugher mixed with coughing fits as he breathed inwards to get air in his lungs, only for gel to be pulled back in. He collapsed to the ground, surrounded by confused orderlies, still laughing between coughing fits. He was in pain, he was in debt to whoever had allocated the resources for a new clone, and he knew he was in for a shitstorm for what he'd done.

But he was alive. He was alive, and there was another body between his original and the draft.

    >Fancy post time!

Time travel, as it turned out, was a real bitch. The initial shock of finding out not only where, but when they were wore off quickly. It took even less time for the merry band of time travelers began debating what they should, and could, do with their two weeks of free time. Warsaw, along with several others, had proposed using the time to save several members of Bravo that had not faired so well during the coming two weeks. Eventually, arguments of how drastically such actions could alter the course of events and potentially cause them to cease to exist entirely, coupled with the knowledge that things had turned out 'alright' for those they wanted to save, ended any thoughts of rescuing anyone.

Instead Walker had a different plan. They would gather recourses, locate and secure production facilities and prepare for the coming Makarian reclamation fleet. So while Walker and Krieg were off securing transportation, everyone else was left to twiddle their thumbs. Everyone except Soap and Foolscap. Walker had given them a mission of their own.

Though he knew the pair were hacking into something, to Warsaw they might as well have been sitting in the corner sleeping. Which was exactly what Warsaw was doing near the fire. If only he'd known he was going to be sent back in time Warsaw would have brought his tablet with him so he could do some reading...or play games. Still sleep was certainly welcome. So when he was awoken by several shouts Warsaw was less than happy. “What the hell is going on?” he grumbled as he pushed himself off the ground. His attention was quickly directed to Soap and Fools who were being held down by several of the others as they convulsed uncontrollably.
    >> [E2] Spc. Dr. Warsaw !cCsMsaA4k2 03/22/11(Tue)19:44 No.14331313
    >>14331308

No one had any idea what had caused the seizures. On second they were just sitting in the corner, the next they were flopping on the floor like fish. Warsaw knew what ever was causing it wasn't a preexisting condition. Standard gene-therapy during the cloning process would see to that. That made the cause environmental, but what? It only took Warsaw a moment to realize whatever they had been hacking into hadn't been friendly. He didn't know much about hacking or counter-hacking, but Warsaw did know how to sever all piscomm connections in an emergency. It was a simple process really, access psicomm, enter the correct command codes and authorization, select who you wanted disconnected and bingo.

Almost immediately Soap and Fools stopped convulsing. Warsaw ordered the others to back away so he and Plax could tend to Soap and Fools physical injuries. Their was little real damage thankfully, but Warsaw could only hope he'd disconnected them fast enough to prevent any mental damage or hadn't caused any himself. Only time would tell.

Pain wracked Soap as he convulsed on the ground. Within his head a multitude of images and commands tried to take hold of his psyche. Soap pressed on, he was commanded to trace himself, and by Odin he would carry out that order. His torment grew worse as the real world blended with a Psicomm dystopia. His progression slowed down, something was wrong, a feeling of terror took hold of him. The space around Soap melted and twisted into nightmarish forms as disembodied voices whispered for him to submit. He stumbled around in the hell-scape, conflicting screams echoed inside his head. New voices yelled at him to stop and familiar ones compelled him to continue.

    “Go no further”

    “Obey your superior commander”

The voices continued, and Soap crawled on to find their source. He found himself in a distorted neighborhood. No color could be found here, no sounds or movement either. The houses were torn apart in a surreal fashion and each empty. It was a disturbingly familiar setting one buried deep with in his memories. Nearly blinded by pain Soap was determined to make sense of it all. Confusion and a deep anger filled within him. With a horrific roar Soap rent asunder the world around him.

And for a Brief moment he saw the architects of his misery.
Then the pain fell upon him like a tidal wave.

He didn’t know how long he was out only that some how he had been saved by his comrades. Num from his journey, Soap laid there unable to move.

And yet he found himself laughing. A disturbing laugh, filled with malice.

“My thanks to you Warsaw” He managed to voice out. “I owe you more than you know.”

It was true thanks to him Soap remembered everything. Lost’s location, the brainwashing, and more importantly the perpetrators responsible for his torment.

He began to laugh again. Yes he much to be thankful for, he mused. The thoughts of revenge lulled him to sleep.

Hey guys, thinking about it, we have a major naval fight coming up, right?

And our actions to capture this naval facility is to make sure we win that fight, right?

Well, I was just thinking - it could take reinforcements perhaps two weeks to make it to Titan to bolster our defenses, depending on their location. Possibly less time if they are deployed near the Iron line.

So using this, I might be able to get the Black Flag - a mercenary naval group that we've had some contacts with - to get here a bit faster by calling them from the past and, well hiring them.

Obviously, this is going to cost points.

Anyone up for this plan? I'm thinking a hiring rate of somewhere between 50-75, maybe even 100 points if necessary, plus salvage rights.

And I mean, Maks typically always have the upper hand in naval fights. Just how it works. The only reason we won that time above Azimuth was because a high gravitational field jacked up their warping abilities. And we had a death-star array cannon thing.

    Where are they all ?

All over the galaxy and all over our systems there are almost a hundred or so discovered "earth" analogues much like the world of Terra that humanity supposedly started their lives on.

Each one of them boast different life supporting parameters different from Terra, added gravity, thin ozone, double exposure from the twin suns. The Solarians were a people didn't know what night was, and many ODF recruits feared the night as an alien evil. In Stockhaus- the highest known habitable gravity well- the people average at 5 feet in height or shorter but retain a musclemass thats almost double that of a Gyroball Athlete. Stockhausian recruits who spend their whole lives mining the lodestones from their planet do not enjoy the concept of flight and rarely qualify the written exams to become odf. However, look to any REG, and they know 2 ShortStocks that have saved their lives during megaconstruction projects.

For posterity, let's not also forget the manically prompt Beldeenians who enjoy 6 hour days, the stoic and patient
Oblinians who see day and night, for 20 hour long each and shrugs off hours of lying down that puts snipers to shame, and the meek Meridians who learn dozens of languages while living in port planets.

But with all these iterations of life and so many diverse habitable, xenobiologists have been scrambling to answer this one simple question for themselves:
" Where have all the other aliens gone ?"

When we think xenos or aliens, our limited and hostile experience with them will make us think : The Exalted.

But asides humanity's sworn enemy, there has been a lack of indigineous people on Solaris, StockHaus, and Beldeen and many more planets will also prove to be predictably empty of a developed civilization. In fact only animals, of a sub-sentient level remain in what could only be best described as a primal lifestyle.

Xeno- "Anthropologists" will later find that in deeper levels of Beldeen there did exist relics of infastructure, remnants of environmental technologies and even articles of age-old warmachines that once resembled reptillian-like armor of its people sized at dozens of feet tall.

Galaxy-wide there would also be an excavation in Exocet, when mass graves of Skeletal Elephantidae with reinforced bone structures and ornate war-gear lay strewn and broken in lakes of protoculture.

With this wellspring of potential neighbors, of potential races, the universe that we know could have been a much more crowded place, teeming with diverse sets of ideas, cultures, and life. But all signs have pointed to the quick and cataclysmic annihilation of these ancient races, their descendants, and ancestors alike.

What else could have selectively weeded out advanced cultures, demolished whole empires, and leave planets intact to bloom free of sentient life ?

Look to the skies, ladies and gentlemen, and wave at them now. It is our turn.
    >> [CO] Col. Walker !IMYfe1j54Y 03/24/11(Thu)00:30 No.14345977
The Colonel sat atop the bouncing hover tank, watching the desert expanse of Titan pass them by. They were originally heading South, to what was considered neutral territories, however intelligence pulled from Paradox Command - what they called the partition of Orbital Command aware of their presence - suggested that there was a naval yard to the East. All good, considering Nomad's seemingly temporary loss of powers denied them of an advanced scouting party, and that the natural geography had hampered their movement South and forced them East.

The couldn't use the highways - according to memory and Paradox, the 1022nd Regular Battalion, the "Lancers" were headed towards that region to secure the area. One of the many forces deployed to Titan, Walker had a feeling in his gut that the men and women of the 1022nd were not going to fare well. And with his own orders to minimize exposure, they couldn't move to assist them, or even risk being spotted by them.

Taking a swig from his hip flask, Walker closed his eyes and tried to feel the surface feelings of his men. After the fight on the Air Fortress, he had finally come to admit that he had developed empathic abilities. Boredom... boredom... mental focus... boredom... and waves of nausea emanating from one poor soul. He turned his attention to the armored gyro that he had stolen that was following the hover tank. From where he sat, the vehicle seemed like a mass of nausea and panic, the product of the six riders of the bouncing bucking sphere of death.

It was a good call to ride on the outside of the hover tank, Walker mused to himself as he watched strange, two-foot tall bipedal whooping lizards hopping alongside the tank. Here, he had a better view, and a better pilot. He looked back at the vehicle, then to the horizon they were approaching. The occupants of the gyro would soon forget their nausea and Nomad's driving skills.

    Oh yeah, just to clarify:

We'll go investigate the Eastern Industrial plant, MAYBE set some detonators to deny it to enemy forces, then head south, swinging around whatever geological features had prevented us a direct southern path, to the naval yards to the south that we've heard of.

I need to contact Paradox Command and ask her if she can connect me to the Black Flag.

Give them most of the scavenge rights, but if there are any Makarian causality engines or anything, you probably shouldn't give them those. Or get like...first chance to buy stuff they salvage off of them. Mercenary groups really don't need access to time travel devices. Neither does anyone they would sell it to, other than the ODF.

    Oh yeah.

Since we technically have 3 NCA's for us time travelers (2 for the past, one more for the time after the original mission), how would you guys feel to using your second NCA for searching (and probably accidentally destroying) the Eastern Industrial facility, then using the last one to capture the Southern Naval Colony?

And by capture, I probably mean "establish a foothold so we can get some mooks over here to do the work for us, now that we don't need to be all sneaky and shit for fear of accidentally creating a time paradox."

I mean, we've been sitting on that Makarian warp drive for how long? And what have we managed to do with it?

Sure, it may just be a problem with management, but hell, I don't think letting them have first dibs is a bad idea. Heaven knows what we'd do with it.

Found was cross but curious. On one hand she had had to pull away from the combined Femto-Etco mission at the last moment and place two of the new xenospace operators into the mission to organize the on-site hoard. When Evergrad had deposited the combined reports of those two and the other “candidates”, filled with redacted sections and alluding to missing files, showing the ODF and IQ’s attempts to make exactly what Found was, a human capable of psionically controlling xenos, on her desk, she had become morbidly impressed. Not that she would have wished to use them except that the growing xeno army was starting to strain hers and Domino’s control. They were misfits and experiments, scattered with a few stable, normal soldiers who just happened to be psionically sensitive to xenos, and after they had had their first debriefing, Evergrad had started getting them ready to supplement Domino and Found. Just more layers of human control and protection, Found mused to herself, the Overseer covering his ass.

And so when she had to turn it all over to an unknown quality, even supervised as it was by Domino, she had been put in a bad mood. However the carrot had been the intriguing “Paradox Command”. The psi-comm command had come out of nowhere, all the handshakes and data queries telling her this was a legitimate branch of psi-comm dealing with chrono-related disturbances, that needed her to reinforced a group of time-displaced soldiers, Bravo’s soldiers no less, as they were sent off on missions. It seemed that Evergrad wouldn’t waste resources, even ones with the potential to cause paradox, which “PC” assured her was bad. So she had spent the last hours working away at the chunk of xenospace she had set up for the operators, as well as working some subliminal programming into the interface.

    > >
    >> [XC] Found !Ykpfge10hU 03/25/11(Fri)01:02 No.14357831
    >Continued from >>14357820

Evergrad had been quite clear that she could tell none of the operators about this time travel. While apparently that shouldn’t be an issue, the overseer had given her strict orders to “preserve the timeline” and that Paradox Command would take “Any and all measured deemed necessary” to preserve it, and Found didn’t want her operators slipping up and creating paradoxes, since then PC would have to step in, and it informed her it would be… “thorough”. So she pulled, with data carefully extracted from PC, a net over the xenospace planet she housed, that would rest into the operator’s minds, prohibiting them from making those kinds of connections or taking those actions that would most likely create paradox. They were a safeguard, and would harmless evaporate once they left sight and sensors of Bravo, placing these memories in such a way for them to make perfect sense to the individual operators and would not cause them to slip up and create paradox in the days to come before the timeline converged in the near future.

As the operators slipped into the world she created, the gossamer fine strands that she thought even she couldn’t detect slipping into their minds, she greeted them, processing their orders in the back of her mind.

After seeing as many battlefields that he had, he had a feel for how missions would pan out just from the initial glance.

And like so many others, this one wasn't looking very good, and promised a hard, bitter fight.

Good men were going to die today; good men under his command fighting for something they probably didn't understand. With him on the front lines once again, perhaps today would be his turn, he thought grimly.

He jumped down from the vehicle, kicking up a circle of dust as he landed. If today was the day he was going to die, it would be with his boots planted firmly in the dirt and his trusty, overly modified rifle in his hands.

He glanced once more at the horizon, before turning to his men to debrief them. Yes... this was not going to be an easy fight.

    But yeah, how you doing?

We're doing fine. How about you? Don't know when the next game is, but it's probably going to be stated here.

    Lots of stuff.

We have new vehicles and things.

Lots more rules and nearly all the spec classes have been unlocked.

I think we have like four people who have unlocked master class.

    Also we have xenoform buddies.

I really do want to create a kind of cavalry class, with a sandroach mount.
    >> [CO] Col. Walker !IMYfe1j54Y 03/26/11(Sat)19:06 No.14376205
    Might as well notarize it.

Since Foolscap and SoapwRX are doing SO well, they're being promoted to Corporal. Each.

Also since they've saved operations before and one of them is master class.

And this is so not an attempt to break the image I have in my head of them being little rookies, no siree.

You do realize, that there really isn't any power that comes with a rank, other than, "if the Sergeant dies, you're probably next in line to command"?

But yeah, I guess, if you want to attach meaning to it, it means that you're likely to get Sergeant. Or something.

    Oh yeah.

Latest game will be Thursday, at the usual time, unless something comes up, according to Orbital.

Possibility for a game Sunday, may be "non-cannon" according to Orbital.

    >Meaning it has nothing to do with the current characters, and is a great chance for rookies to jump in and see if they like the game. Assuming it is run.
    >> [CO] Col. Walker !IMYfe1j54Y 03/27/11(Sun)00:09 No.14378641
Well, since I don't think we have a complete comprehensive list and neither Orbital nor I actually know all the CO candidates...

Do you want to be the next CO for Bravo?

If so, say it here. In the thread.

And maybe a short paragraph on why you think you have what it takes to be a CO.

Seniority only means that there's a better chance that we know you're BSing, and that we have a better idea of your ability to handle being a CO.

On that note, to be a CO, you need to have pretty damn good attendance, as well as the ability to stay awake as long as Orbital does for each mission.

And yes, there is a strong likelihood that I will be leaving.
    >Maybe not permanently, but for some time.
    >> OrbitalCommand !w68jcmPgR6 03/27/11(Sun)00:15 No.14378695
Commandership of bravo forces now open:
    Those interested must have-
1.Joined the game as far back as the garuka arc
2.Is not already commanding a nonhuman ODF faction/race
    3. Has a Fair Attendance record
    4. Has botted, TA'd , or Lead other units

    Plus Points if:
-You Fought me or Ender in a game.
    -You gained Master
-Won against me or Ender in a Commander Versus game.

**Plus points will discount one disqualifier.

Well, volunteers sometimes come from not entirely willing sources. I'm not the most tactically sound person in the world, and theres no way in hell I'd let myself get away from the front lines of combat. I personally believe I'd be better in a smaller leadership role just adding my opinion to the acting CO, but I'm ready to stand up for the cause if needed. However I have been around for a long while, only needing to disappear due to a personal matter, and can stay up from dusk till dawn with relative ease.

Really all I've got going for me is seniority, but I know sacrifices sometimes need to be made and not every battle can me 'won'.

    CO of Bravo?

    Sure, why not.

I joined back on the last mission of Aggoria, have decent attendance. I've been Field Commander for a while now, have lead quite a bit.

Plus if Walker had died last couple games, I would have been CO anyway!

I made you Captain not to be field commander, but to be the CO of the second company of Bravo.

Or the backup CO. Either way, it was an attempt to ensure that if I wasn't there, then there would be someone to take command.

So you're good where you are.

I'd like a jab at being CO. I don't sing my own praises. You know what qualities I have. If not, you could ask Nomad, Ender and maybe Colton. Sometimes there is truth mixed into what he says.

It's not really necessary; I mean, it's practically a given.

I mean, this isn't to find my replacement, this is to ensure that we have multiple CO's for the hopefully different companies of Bravo.

So Geist is already guaranteed to be given the CO position for second company.

This was my intention from the beginning, really. Plus, it helps to avoid CO burnout.
    >> [CO] Col. Walker !IMYfe1j54Y 03/27/11(Sun)05:32 No.14380607
Okay, so the current "candidates" for another CO, plus some notes. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    Geist
    Foolscap
SoapwRX (Unless hes CO Laz of Ecto, in which case it's iffy.)
    Ghoul
    Wolf

Nomad, Ender, and Colton (yes, even Coltron) may be considered, but only if they express an actual interest in it.

Also Dragon, if it's not Dragon, but the person who plays him and maybe rolls another character. Because really I cannot see Dragon being anything but tactically inept.
