    65 KB IRON GURPS Anonymous 03/12/11(Sat)23:49 No.14222798
Iron GURPS is where you take three d100, roll them, and then look up the result on a table of GURPS books. Then you take the three books and combine them in a mashup for a setting for your game. If you get the same book twice, double the influence of that book on your setting. If you get the same one three times, just re-roll.

I'm going to post the Iron GURPS table in the next post.

Almost all the books on the list that are not in 4th edition are source books instead of rulebooks, and so translate incredibly quickly to 4th edition. Most of the 4th edition books had 3rd edition versions too, so if you don't want to use 4th you can go back to 3rd.

Mecha is the 3rd edition rulebook for building mechs, which Spaceships 4 in 4th edition covers.

Robots is the 3rd edition rulebook for robots, but the robots built in 3rd translate pretty well into 4th with only a few changes. Or you could just use it as a heavy influence (roll Robots, Old West, and Magic for instance and you've got cowboys vs golems).

Wow. That is just so gonzo.

Ankh-Morpok is under siege. The Klatchian armies are posed to invade at any moment under the rule of their new Emperor Ridiculously Short But We Don't Call Attention To It Ahmed The First.

Ankh-Morpok has an edge though, the Wild Card virus, the last invention of Bloody Stupid Johnson it rewrites... well whatever that sort of thing rewrites. Ask the brainiacs at Unseen University if you want to be confused and bored as to how it works.

What it does is give the citizens of Ankh-Morpok powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men, dwarves, trolls and other races who are not mentioned solely for the purposes of brevity and in no way insulting to their undoubtedly proud heritage and traditions. Are you a bad enough dude to use your powers to defend Ankh-Morpok against the Klatchian threat?

The orthone started to vibrate as it sought the proper frequency to shake the entire ironclad apart. It sent a chatter up my spine, and forced an ache in my belly as the ironclad began to buck in the water, the deck flexing like a snake, plates of steel popping off with each undulation.

    Illuminati, Robots, and Scarlet Pimpernel.

Time travel would unite this perfectly, but I didn't roll it so let's see what else I got.

The 1790s are a time of ferment. Revolution has engulfed France and all of Europe trembles at the forces that have been unleashed.

Including the Illuminati (plural, as a single globe-controlling conspiracy would be an Illuminatus) who are warring for control of the globe. There are those who welcome the advent of 9, Thermidor, Year 2 and those who struggle against it. In a confused age gross manipulations are inevitable, but to disguise their influence the various Illuminati disguise their influence with colorful costumes and names. The Scarlet Pimpernel is the most famous, but far from the only one.

The Illuminati are waging war for the future of the planet. This is no task for mere mortals. Instead using the suppressed technology of DaVinci's spring-driven cogitators, the mysticism of the Prague Golem and the something, something, (maybe Ben Franklin? or the Mechanical Turk?) the pawns of the Illuminati are not mere flesh and blood but independently thinking automatons warring across Europe.

Rome is the undisputed master of a third of the globe. But only a third. The Chinese and Aztec Empires rule supreme in their territory, and have enough power to make open warfare unprofitable.

This has not stopped the Legions. Using the technology derived from the writings of Hero of Alexandria, and a millennium of uninterrupted peace and prosperity Rome has mastered the power of steam, electron and quanta. They have used that to upgrade their Legions with abilities that incite jealousy in the Gods themselves.

    Horror.

    I can work with this.
Mankind is gone. Long ago, the best and brightest took off for the stars, leaving their lesser brethren back on earth. they were never heard from again. Things on earth devolved quickly. advanced nano-tech weapons were used in various conflicts, eventually surging out of control and wiping out all organic life on Earth in waves of Black Goo. Errors in the design and programming of the intermixed goods gradually arose, leading to mechanical life arising and evolving in accelerated imitation of the now-extinct organic life which once populated the world. An entire silvery, metallic ecosystem, energy-collectors soaking up ambient power and storing it like plants, consumers breaking these down for power, predators hunting the consumers, etc.

Centuries passed, and now primitive villages and tribes of sentient robots inhabit the world, sometimes scavenging from the ruins of the Ancients, sometimes forging their own way in the world. But some mechs aren't satisfied with their forms. They have begun consuming other sentient mechs not just for power and sustenance, but also for parts. The cannibals strip their victims' corpses, integrating their components to make themselves stronger. Even worse are the parasitic echs classified as 'rustpires', assaulting mechs and leaching away the power from their cores, often infecting them with OS bugs and viruses that ake them easier to control in the long run or converting them into 'pires themselves.

There you go, medieval horror using robots and robot vampires/cannibals.Actually an old idea I had a long time ago, the dice were just kind enough to provide a good combo to resurrect it.

The superhumans decide that the only way to save the human race is to go back in time and stop the corporations from taking over. The "super" society goes around from colony to colony looking for other super heroes. The campaign will start off with them finding a time traveler who doesn't want to be part of their plan. They will have to travel through various time aberrations as he sends them there until they finally catch him and convince him to save humanity.
