Depends on the character. I tend to seemingly play a lot of fa/tg/uys, though. One Eberron character insisted on dining lavishly whenever possible, and planning sessions often took place in upscale restaurants. Then again, there was that morbidly obese fa/tg/uy in CoC who subsisted entirely on takeout food.

The average adventurer gets by with travel rations, and whatever they can catch along the way, cooked over a campfire though.

    Normally food doesn't come up.

However I recently had a character who it was something of an obsession. Not only did he constantly seek out food and was always hungry, but he couldn't possibly finish all the food he and the others' got over the game. So he kept it with him in his car for safekeeping, and later potential snacking.

The problem was that even as he was he couldn't eat enough to offset the food he collected. So in his car, it was like in layers, with the older food at the bottom and the newer food spilling out the windows. Except liquids of course, and soup and stuff which naturally sifted at the bottom. Eventually he couldn't open the doors because the car was so full of food.

His catch phrase was "You gonna eat that?"

    >BUIZNESS IS BAD!
There is no point in blaming the fast food industry or oligopolies for that. People make their choices and businesses adapt to fit. If people were not buying it companies would not be selling it, simple as that.

Food subsidies on the other hand are both wrong and inefficient, so I would gut those. I have no hippie style objection to large companies, but they should not be getting handouts from the broke ass government.

So my group was planning a game, and originally it was going to be a pirates campaign, but then it kind of turned into some kind of magical girl campaign because I hang with a bunch of huge weeaboos, whatev, shit's cool. Anyway, I didn't get the memo on the latest development, so I rolled up a gnoll pirate captain and spent most of my starting gold on a ship and a bunch of pirate stuff, like cannons for the ship and a spyglass and a davit and longboats and what have you.

I guess the DM didn't really hear at first either, so he rolled that shit into an animu high school drama, except it was a school for pirates. Shit was surprisingly cash. Helps that he was pretty much the best DM I've ever seen.

Anyway, through the whole campaign my character would pretty much loot or eat the bodies of everything we killed. Sometimes I would just take random bits for snacking later. One particularly amusing segment involved me taking a bunch of livers and kidneys off some dead ninjas, and soon after ending up at a black market.

It also helped that I had such a high fortitude save that I could successfully recklessly ingest bits of corpses that would poison a lesser woman to death on the spot.

Wrong, the difference is that anyone can choose to not spend their money at a business they disagree with. Government on the other hand can shoot and jail you. If a company is fucking people or not good at its job then rest assured it will not be big for long. Government on the other hand will take your money(under threat of force) and usually just go and blow it on the most financially(and ethically) bankrupt business they can find because they are too big to fail(friends in high places).

Adults need to be responsible for themselves and make their own decisions. People, not governments are charitable and benevolent. Using the cohesive power of government on them is neither.

I am very familiar with them. They rigged elections and had the police and the government in their back pockets. If however, the state had fulfilled its responsibility as opposed to being nothing more then a cudgel to be wielded by whoever paid it off last, then most of those problems could be avoided. If the government was not as large or powerful the robber barons would not have managed to get away with the shit they did.

well the governor must first pledge his allegiance to chaos.

He will make blood sacrifices involving his astropath and his personal guard will gain the blessings of his new god as daemons come to inhabit their bodies.

Finally, the governor sends vast tendrils beneath the ground that slowly draw away the lifeforce of his people before culminating in vast crowd suicides and chaos-fuelled murder, rape and crime sprees which act as a great beacon in the warp, showing that the governor has indeed given himself to Chaos.

The staff get so worked up over it. I mean; I'm paying for the steak and it's going into my mouth... They act as if they tenderly raised the cow from a calf, nurturing it and fattening it up, perhaps befriending it along the way always aware that one day they would have to put the beast down for food, that this was Bessy's purpose in life, but knowing that when they did it would be with a tear in their eye for the sacrifice their beloved pet was making for the grateful human who would one day enjoy a good steak... They act like I'm spitting in their eye personally by asking for it Well-done.

    And it cracks me up.

Why's everyone so mad? Does it affect you how well cooked I like my steak? I happen to enjoy the taste of burnt meat as well as gaining satisfaction from the texture of working to chew it. Do I question you for ordering your steak so undercooked you can wring it out over a wineglass and drink the juices? So it falls apart in your mouth after two bites before sliding down the back of your throat lubricated by its own grease?

I still find it bewildering and hilarious that people who take STEAK so seriously exist.

I love gristle. The chewy texture and flavor makes the steak so much better. I could literally spend an hour just chewing on a tough bit of gristle, and what a wonderful hour it would be.

But everyone I have met seems to think gristle is the devil.

Also fatty bacon is fucking nasty, the texture is awful.

I personally prefer medium. I can do medium rare. But frankly I don't trust steak houses to make me a medium rare steak correctly.

Lower cuts of beef I usually just cook till well done. Or if im grilling a steak I usually do it well done. But anythings fine. rare and blue rare are just fucking weird.

I think the best steak iv ever had. Was at a hole in the wall bar and grill in Gettysburg Pennsylvania. I went up their with my father to tour the battlefields. I forget the restaurants name but god damn. Medium Rare steak with a loaded baked potato. No sauce. Though I am partial to steak sauce it didn't require any due to the flavor and juice. Superbly cooked.

Guys. Guys. You wanna know a secret? Do you?

Sometimes I eat steak rare... and on others, I eat it well done!

Oh, oh, and that's not all of it! Sometimes I enjoy my steak with a nice, creamy pepper sauce, or maybe just plain BBQ sauce, or perhaps pepper-crusted. Sometimes I have my burgers with pickles, sometimes I don't. There's days when I like my chicken fried, on others I'll have it grilled. And I'll have my hot dogs with mustard, but get this - sometimes I eat them with... KETCHUP. I EAT HOT DOGS WITH KETCHUP! AND THEY TELL ME I AM MAD! MAD! MAAAAD AHAHAHAHAHAHA-!

I really don't want to go into this discussion... Yes, PC's hurt the environment to. Nothing compared to meat production though. Read up on the bio industry. DO you know it takes something like a liter of water and several pounds of grain to produce one ounce of meat? Yep. You could solve world hunger and energy problems by not eating meat, yada yada, yada.

The Bo industry is one of the worst things around harming the environment. Just... Acknowledge that, and I'm happy. Won't stop you from eating your steak. I just say it so I can have the satisfaction of saying "told you so" when we're all drowning in tsunamis. Not that it would help. Oh well.

The point is we have nothing that provides the same function as a computer that we could use instead. However, humans can and do live perfectly healthily without eating any animals, and the production of livestock for meat has an environmental footprint several times greater than the production of an equivalent amount of vegetable food. You all have the relatively easy option of forgoing meat and significantly lessening the environmental impact of your lifestyle. You're just going to choose not to.

No. I look indian vegetarian cuisine, it tastes great, but it's not meat. Ripping muscle of a dead animal with your teeth feels different than chewing vegetables. And tastes fuckdifferent, especially when you don't drown it all in thick sauces - meet itself has a plethora of distinct flavors.

    >Besides, your argument is ridiculous.
    Oh, you've noticed?

    >Watching TV and using PCs isn't responsible for torture and killing animals.
Yes it is, unless TVs and PCs simply appear from nowhere, and aren't pieces of machinery that require industry. Fun fact - you've been to the movies lately? Kodak supplies most of studios with equipment and reels, and they have their own sheep farm. Why? To harvest sheep eyes, because the fluid within them is ideal for high grade photography and filming materials.

    >Not directly and intentionally, anyway.
What kind of an argument is that?

    >Meat does far more damage than any of those things you mentioned, and is comparatively a fairly minor thing to give up.
Wait, meat does more damage than clearing land for housing and the entire industry producing goods for houses? More than mining, metalworking and factories required for making cars for personal use? Mines alone devastate the land to unspeakable degrees, bringing heavy metals and refuse to the surface. The refining processes poison land and rivers so that everything in the area dies if there's a breech in protocols.

And the last thing to go through Mr. Jones' mind was your femur, when you blew in through his windshield. Just because poor ol' Jones didn't care.

Loaded exaggeration. We'd keep a cow or two around, I suspect. Cows that would live more like our horses do at the moment - said horses that met a similar transition as other, better means of transportation appeared. But it's not really about being humane to animals, but rather to people. Let me put it in terms you might be more comfortable with - we have our cows eat plants, and then we eat the cows. Remove cows from the equation, and we remove a huge drain on resources and farmland, and a major contributor to enviromental damage. Cow eat plant, man eat cow. Remove cow, man get more plant, man happy!
