You find a nice spot, set up camp, and have a quick meal before the sun goes down. With your immense skills, you could easily build yourself a house right here, but the elements don't bother you at all, so you've never really seen the point. You spend the few hours until the sun goes down practicing alchemy, analyzing your armor's composition, and seeing if you can duplicate small bits of it, with no success. This might take longer than you thought.
At sunset, you re-open communications with the conclave, and are met with a new voice, speaking exclusively in monotone.
“Upon waking, you will journey West at your best possible speed. You will receive a message from Detachment Three when you are within range.”
That detachment is the closest one to you, split off from the forces invading Forus, just like the rest. They left their siege engines behind to increase their speed, but they are ten thousand strong and well-supplied, with elite mage divisions among their ranks. You should be in good company.
Communication terminates, and a small glowing thing, shaped like a teardrop, materializes beside you. It flashes a greeting, and you entrust it with the very important job of watching you while you sleep. Hopefully, once you reach the main forces, you'll have the manpower required to actually beat those elementals. |
