It is suitably implied among the Eldar that Humans are heading in somewhat the same direction that brought the about The Fall.

If so what kind of God will Humanity unleash?

It won't necessarily bring a new god into existence, according to the newest fluff in 5th edition rulebook humanity is undergoing a mass outbreak of mutation and psychic awakening.

This might not result in a new warp god, but bring about an intergalactic warp overlap or a new enslaver plague instead, both of which would be equally devastating.

    Well yes, you got:

Khorne, god of simple-minded battle and slaughter versus tzeentch, god of excessive planning and douchebaggery.

Slaanesh, god of excess and pleasure versus Nurgle, god of apathy and despair.

All directly opposed. It would make sense that Malal, god of chaos for the sake of chaos would be opposed by a god that embodies pure order.

Think of it in a biblical sense. Malal is the whole demon "Complete anarchy and freedom no matter the cost" with the angel "rule with an iron fist. My way or be obliterated" mindset.
    >> Anonymous 04/29/10(Thu)19:35 No.9515003
Back in the early days of warhammer/40k lore I believe it went something like:

Khorne gained his consciousness in the medieval period. It was on a battlefield that resembled a lake of blood. Khornes thrown still sits within that lake.... though it now resembles an ocean.

Tzeentch gained his consciousness in the Renaissance.
    Nurgle in the black death.

oddly due to the warp being timeless even though Khorne, Slaanesh, Nurgle and Tzeentch gained their consciousness at set times in history.... they still existed and affected events before they were "born"

    >>9514999
    >>9515158
    You're both wrong.

Tzeentch is in opposition to Nurgle because Nurgle's core ideal -that everything and everyone eventually comes to death, destruction, and decay- belies an inevitability that infuriates the changer of ways.

Slaanesh is all about perfection of the SELF, and pleasure for the SELF, and thus Khorne's attitude of Destroy the OTHER, Slaughter the OTHER, is a drastic opposition.

By extension, if Malal is Chaos for the sake of Chaos, it makes sense that his rival would be all about mindless conformity and order.
I nominate that the new Chaos Power of Order be named "Chesed." It means literally "six," and being named after a number makes sense for someone all about the bureaucracy. Chesed's role, as mentioned previously, is also perfect given the current state of the Imperium.

In the current state of the imperium, I find it unlikely that any more gods will be created, at least not by humans. The year 40k is far to ridden with conflicts with so many thousands of possible angles, I do not believe humanity as a whole has enough focus to spare on indulgences, at least not on the level that the eldar did before the fall.

I think humans are going to be too tied up with the C'tan, the hordes of orks, and the incoming invasion of tyranids in the next few thousand years to have time to throw planetwide metal concerts and orgies that span the solar system.

He wouldn't have religion, he would have a bunch of dudes dictating his will and expecting you to follow it. They would be like propaganda officers and demagouges, spouting litanies of obedience rather than enlightenment. His would be an empire of iron, steel and concrete, built on the foundations of the back breaking labour of billions, with officers and soldiers and aristocrats enjoying huge boons for their service.

Chesed is unlike the other gods in that he wants to impose his will on the entire Warp. He wants to control it, so he can control every psychic being. When Cheseds forces obey orders and work in tandem, even Khorne's armies can't stand against them, but when disobedience is rife, Chesed is foiled.

    >> Anonymous 04/29/10(Thu)21:54 No.9517529
I think Chesed's appearance wold be that of a ghost with armor. Helmet, that only shows one black eye, plate armor, gauntlets, belt, pauldrons (HUGE PAULDRONS, OBVIOUSLY) and would always carry a sword and a weighing scale, and would ALSO be the god of "balance"; because if you disrupt the balance, you disrupt the order. You fear to disrupt that balance so much, you have to live full of limitations to not be punished.

Chesed should also have paladins. Lawful stupid paladins actually. His daemons would look like decayed or fallen angels.

His cultist or warriors are actually puppets, null of soul or emotion, controlled by a group of sorcerers. BUT it would also meant that you get to DIE and he will NOT let your soul be eaten by anything else. He protects you because you served him, and you gave up your life because you were afraid of what could happen to you. He is a god of order, balance, retribution and fear, also a protector figure. As Nurgle could be seen as a god of Peace, Khorne as a god of Bravery and Slaneesh as a god of pleasure and joy/love, then chesed is the protector and guardian.
He also ensures no one can win this intergalactic war: war is the status quo.

I am utterly shocked and appalled no one seems to have mentioned Necoho and Suzassin in this thread.

Introduced in 'Something Rotten in Kislev', a supplement for the first edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, Necoho was the Chaos God of Atheists and Zuvassin was the Chaos God of Undoing.

Necoho is only 'worshipped' in one tiny, tiny village in Kislev, and unlike all the other Chaos Gods, gets more powerful the less people believe in him. Zuvassin is the anti-Tzeentch, in that as the Undoer, if you follow him, you're utterly screwed unless you're really, really good. Basic followers have all their plans undone and in the actual rpg, you could try to cast a spell and there'd be a random chance you'd blow up/cast another spell/cast your spell/not cast. Plus if you followed Zuvassin you'd actually lose stat points each level...

It's speculated that the two were included as two aspects of Malal, as they represent no gods and Chaos essentially failing, which could be said to be the two aspects of Malal. It is interesting to note that Malal's symbol was a bisected skull - probably why the two Gods could be considered to be halves of Malal. Plus at that point the creator of Malal had severed contact with GW and retained copyright.

    Continued.

There's also the 3 Gods of Law and Order. To quote from the first ed Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay book, "The Gods of Law came in to existance at the same time as the Chaos Gods, and are dedicated to their own ideals of permanence and stability."

They consist of Alluminas, master of light, everlasting and unchanging. Essentially, permanence, the antithesis of the mutability of Chaos. Secondly there is Arianka, though not much is known about her as an unnamed Chaos God defeated her and imprisoned her in a crystal coffin. Lastly there is Solkan, a god of vengeance and retribution of justice upon wrongdoers.

The 4 Chaos Gods Nurgle, Khorne, Slaanest and Tzeentch, combined with Malal and the 3 Gods of Law Alluminas, Arianka and Solkan, make up the 8 points on the Chaos star.

As such if humanity gave rise to another Chaos God, it wouldn't become a Jewstar, it's have 9 points.

    God damn it.

I bet IG doesn't even notice because the Administratum's fucked hard- no FTL comm means no FTL coordination. EVERYONE IS STRANDED, NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THE FUCK.

Half the Inquisition melts because aren't most-all of them psykers? The leftovers start epic slapfighting each other. Some of them seek out the true Emprah, some fall to Chesed, some of them GET THE FUCK OUT and try to simply keep what's left of free Humanity in one piece.

We talking Starchild or the Emperor's released warp presence forming a new god? The Emperor's already a god, which we can see by his ability to scare the shit out of the Dark Gods. So it'd just be forming from him, *not* the gathered souls of humanity. The only outside influence on the newly formed presence would be any sacrificed psykers, but most of them were weaker ones who wouldn't have lasted in other roles, so it's doubtful that they could overwhelm the will of the Emperor.

Assuming I know anything about that sort of thing.

The Emperor's only sort-of a god. He's unique in that he has a literal physical form, and who the fuck knows what happens when you snuff that thing out.

He's also much more limited than Chaos- He has no daemons, and his Living Saints can basically be counted on one hand while Chaos is running around with Greater Daemons all over the fucking place in comparison.

There's very few obvious signs of the Emperor's divinity compared to Chaos'. He's either the more subtle type, or his flesh cages him.

Yeah, by all accounts The Emperor is a god, as there's enough faith in belief in him for particularly focused and "pious" worshippers to perform miracles. Miracles that don't seem to rip the fabric of space open for daemons to pour out of either.

If it's his flesh caging him, then he'd basically be grabbing a 1-up when he dies. So he'd be staying the same as he is now. Problem being "as he is now" refers to his current perspectives and mental stability after being betrayed by half his sons, watching all his sons suffer, and being stuck on the golden throne for all that time.

Of course, him being the Emperor, it's entirely possible that he's actually well adjusted towards all this. But we don't know for certain. Not that we can do anything about it, so have faith.

IMO, The Emperor =/= The God Emperor

if a chaos god were born from the imperium, it would be one that was like the exact opposite of Slaanesh, it would punish any form of deviation in its followers, it would require you to kill anything that was different, and etc. basically it would be The God 40k or The GRIMDARK.

Praise for the dark throne, Glory to the grim god! etc

the god emperor wouldn't be a chaos god, in fact his origin specifically disproves the theory of him becoming a chaos god, The Emperor is all about his soul being inside of a human body. That is the real reason so many psykers die in the golden throne, because their souls are being added to the collective that is the emperor's soul. when he fought horus his soul was damaged as badly as his body, so it needs new parts to replace the destroyed ones.

The Emperor is a collection of the souls of the most powerful shamans in human history, each one believed to be about alpha level, each one able to reincarnate themselves so they never truly died.

Nurgle is about keeping things the same, about stagnation, yes he is about "everyone dies" and being locked into that fate irks tzeetch, but the main reason tzeetch and nurgle hate each other is because one is stagnation and the other is constant change.

tzeetch hates Khorne because Tzeetch is all about planning, big strategies, chess, Khorne hates that, he takes an axe to chess boards, his champion actually kills anyone around him that actually tries to use strategy instead of just rush that hill and kill everyone.

nurgle hates slaanesh because of the whole isha thing, and because the love and good feelings slaanesh gives isn't real, it is all chemical, where as Nurgle LOVES his children, he is their daddy.

Khorne hates nurgle because Khorne is about the strong, if you are strong, fight that man and kill him, only the strong survive. diseases, similar to sorcery, don't care, they cut down the greatest warriors right along side the weaklings, and Khorne hates that.

Slaanesh hates Khorne because Slaanesh is about the sensations and the WHY and HOW you are doing something, while Khorne is all about the doing. Khorne is single minded in the extreme while slaanesh focuses on open minded and experimentation.

The only reason its been adopted in the first place is because the same guy kept repeating it post after post until everyone else adopted the moniker. There has to be something better than "Chesed" because having him named after the number six doesn't make any goddamn sense anyway since Chaos has nothing to do with six.

Well, your souls should stay discrete, but it sounds like you're exchanging personality traits. It might be best if we transferred you into a waystone for the time being. It might be a bit bleak, but at least we can transfer you out again.
If you happen to know where we might find a recently dead space marine, it may be possible to reanimate the corpse with you in it. Of course, we could use a regular human, but I figure you'd want something more familiar. Unless you're done being a space marine and want to try something else?

Rubric, I intend to save you from the horror of you existence. Whether you like it or not.

    Primarch - well damn.

Shitty endings to threads, like this one, happens sometimes, Anon. It's still pretty awesome, though, I agree.

Since when does "chesed" mean "six"?
    >> Anonymous 04/30/10(Fri)03:59 No.9522973
More specifically, the Hebrew word for six is "shesh". "Chesed" (better transliterated "Hesed" with a dot under the "H") is a word that means... something like loving kindness. Learn2Hebrew, pal.
