538 KB Oh look another Conversionfag Q&A Paragon Scriptarius 04/21/10(Wed)14:34 No.9336777
Well I've got 5 days off and nothing to kick it off with, so let's have another one of these.

    ITT: ask a conversionfag anything

    >I'm taking ideas for future conversion projects. Materiels I need to get rid of include 2 Leman Russ Demolishers, a normal Leman, a Chimaera, 20 or so Guardsmen, 3 IG commands, 20 Sanguinary Guard, 10 Death Company and 3 Minotaurs.
    >For now, I've planned on making some Custodes out of the Sanguinary Guard

    >> Anonymous 04/21/10(Wed)14:42 No.9336903
    >>9336777

Could you make a golden spirit of Olianus Pius, sort of like the Sanguinor, but for Guardsmen?
    >> Anonymous 04/21/10(Wed)14:42 No.9336906
Truth be told, its rather hard to convert tanks into anything other than the same tank with a different look.

You can always create destroyed versions of them, so you can change immobilized / destroyed vehicles in game.

well if I gave him a halo, sculpted abs, a massive package and posed him giving the finger to something far larger than himself, the fact that he's made of gold is the least retarded part.

Do you happen to have enough parts to make Earthshaker cannons? If so, convert the Lemans to smaller versions of the Minotaur tank.

Golden flak armor, maybe some rock hard abs, shiny, a halo, perhaps, but he should still look like a Guardsman.

I'm trying to figure out the coolest helmet for my commander. Either I'll buff up a chaos undivied champion's helmet with GS, or use a 'zerkers helmet with the 'horns' clipped.

Or, third option, some of chapterhouses new heresy-era helmets. They look cool, but I'm not sure if they're cooler than the other two.

For the love of god don't just turn the turret around and put a drivers hatch on the engine compartment. The problem with backwards leman russ conversions is that, 95% of the time, they are just painfully obvious Ssur Namel's.

Hey Scripty i only do small conversions like removing bolt pistols from arms and replacing them with boltguns. I think it just gives my Iron wariors a better look. But to really kick off my army i want to do somthing like the land raider/ baneblade in the pic but for a chaos IW army. Any idea how hard it would be to pull it off also still thing about mabey adding an earth shker or two since IW and siege experts and suggestions on what would look good? thanks

Would a beautiful Lucifer-esque face work? I mean, I know beauty would be more of a Slaaneshi thing, but if you painted it streaming with blood and with a healthy dose of the uncanny valley, it would be pretty daemonic.

Or you could do the complete opposite and have some kind of Turian-from-hell visage. I guess that would be more Khorny anyway.

Also, were you think of having it look up or down?

Try simply shaving off some of the guide lines on the interior of the side sections and placing THEM backwards, instead of just spinning the turret around. You might ahve to add some plasticard to fill some gaps on the side, or you might need to cut the hull into sections and fiddle with the placement to get a non boxy look.

Just please for the love of god don't make a Ssur Namel

how to make a shotgun from a plastic bolter, and some brass rod/wire.

    you need.
    1 bolter.
brass rod (or brass rod and a brass tube, even better.
    1 jeweller's saw.
1 drill bit. 1.5mm, same as the rod.

Scriptarius, have you considered any of the defiler heads for ANGRON? The screaming one might work.

Also YOU MUST MAKE THE CHAOS-STOMPING COMMISAR RANGERS AS YOUR NEXT CONVERSION PROJECT!

use the jeweller's saw, and cut the bolter in half, just ahead of the main body, then trimming off the lower part. then take the front end, and saw off the upper half, keeping the foregrip in place

Alternatively, you can just cut the grip off of a boltgun, and stick it to the underside of a lasgun. Clip the lasgun's tip off and leave enough to make up for the barrel's end. Then you can remove the sights on top if you like.
