On the other hand you don't want to piss off Vladimir, and right now, you're all his bitches. The trick is to be too efficient to be let go, yet not so efficient as to create problems in the long run.
Refusing a target outright is an affront to your employers. Do all the targets, split up your flight if that helps. But make sure you misdeliver the bridge package in some way. Drop it too early or too late, miss the bridge by a little. Georgia operates no high speed trains, so derailment shouldn't cause too many civy casualties. Just make sure the FSB sees an effort. Maybe the terrorists messed up their fuse length, the fiction can still hold.
As for the Hornet, I am not a fan. The Super Hornet is a different story, but the old model is barely better than the updated and retrofitted Phantom Baron has now. Growler or no Growler, that is the question.
My biggest question is this: Will you keep the F-4 around or will it be liquidated to acquire the next bird? If it's still in the hangar you can just take it for a spin when a mission demands it. That would free you up to make a bolder choice of hogs. The F-18 is just too mediocre for a merc campaign, it's a military workhorse and it's sex appeal didn't age well. |
