497 KB TLALOC QUEST An Aztec Writefag 04/06/10(Tue)21:47 No.9027232
Long ago, in the grim darkness of the 30th millenium, the immortal God-Emperor crafted for himself twenty sons. Genetically engineered to be stronger, faster, smarter, mightier than any man, they were the galaxy's greatest hope for survival.

For eighteen, their deeds and names would be eternally preserved, whether in infamy or regale, but for two, their destiny was to be lost and forgotten forever.

One of these lost primarchs' story has already been told. But today, we shall learn for the first time the history and fate of the eleventh primarch.

Roll a D7 to see what your unique attributes are.

    A few quick notes.

This is NOT Rachnus-quest. Cruise-control for Cool is not Tlaloc's thing. It's up to you to decide what his thing IS, but allcaps rage isn't.

    I'd appreciate some drawfags.

No D100's. I know it's traditional, but after Rachnus Quest I'm convinced that they're haunted.

You are a hideous abomination, but at least you have enhanced gripping strength, poisonous fangs and the ability to see heat.

Wow, you lucky bastard, the world you land on is an absolute DEATH WORLD. Oh wait, that's not really lucky at all, is it?

Your pod slowly falls toward the surface, slowly gathering speed until the very atmosphere ignites about it, coming to an unfortunately gradual stop as it crashes through branches, trees as hard as iron snapping before it before you come to rest, cradled in what can only be an enormous spider web.

    What do you do now?

You kick the door of your pod open and flop down onto a broad branch beneath you. Your pod has indeed broken many of the super-tough branches around you, but most are shattered to splinters. One of them makes a convenient baby-sized club though. There are no rocks, as you are still suspended so far above the ground that it isn't visible in the gloom.

You hop gamely from branch to branch, moving slowly upward. Along the way you see lots of broken pieces from your reentry, not all of them made of wood. You travel for what feels like miles, laterally and vertically, until you manage to poke free of the tangle of garishly colored leaves of the canopy, which are even now growing back to replace those knocked free by your atmospheric entry. The sun is extremely bright, and a smoldering bluish color. It hurts your eyes, but the warmth feels good on your scales. In the distance you can see an odd shape closing toward you. What do?

I figure we would remain masked at most times in the presence of our brothers.

As for story, I say we stay within the boundaries set within Rachnus' story. We're Aztec themed, and we were tricked into destroying his planet, our fleet got decimated, and we went with him to Horus' ship.

Everything before and after that is for us to decide.

He takes a running leap, and the glider is born aloft on the frequent thermals, with a side effect of shading you from the harsh sun. Below you you can see huge, slender shapes pushing aside swatches of forest, but you are soon lulled to sleep.

When you awake, the ride is over, and you are surrounded by more natives, lighter-skinned, wearing elaborate robes. You rub the sleep from your eyes and they cease their soft murmuring, opening a path for you, which leads up a huge set of stairs. Do you ascend?

You trudge your way up the steps, forged of some shining yellow metal, cool to the touch, worn smooth by the passage of millions of feet.

After much walking, you reach the summit, a massive pair of yellow doors, cut with odd symbols and writings, all framed in a massive stylized snake, devouring it's own tail. For a moment all is still, and then the snake rotates all the way around, and with a bone-shaking rumble, the doors open, cool air spilling out around you. You step inside, and the doors shut unbelievably quickly behind you, nearly clipping your skin short, and all is wreathed in darkness. From within, you hear a soft hissing sound, and a pair of softly glowing green eyes open before you. Eyes bigger than your entire body.

"Welcome, little star-child." it says, in a language you somehow understand intimately.

Seven years pass, and the assertions of your divinity are confirmed with each new day. When a normal boy would be but a child, you are already as big as a man of your tribe, your muscles like taught steel wires and your fangs sharp and venom-filled. Raised by the priests of the serpent-god Coatl, you are named Tlaloc, the name never to be given to another child again, lest it sap away your divine essence.

Your world is harsh, and you learn well it's lessons, every scar a stark reminder of it's brutality, and in record time, you are ready to join the ranks of your people's army, to fight their enemies and take slaves to work the farms of the forest floor, always in need of fresh labor to replace what the world takes for itself.

Your body is marked with blood and the nectar of a poisonous flower, and before you stands the first of the other aspirants, a boy more than twice your age, his face marred by four long lateral scars.

It is a further seven years later. By any standard, Tlaloc has become a man. Standing taller than any warrior, his every battle has been a victory, and beside him, all others pale in comparison, with the one possible exception of Cipactli, your old duelling partner cum long-term rival and compatriot.

Your worth as a soldier is proven a dozen times over. Today, you prove yourself as a commander.

For five years you've had a neighboring tribe on the defensive, pushing deep into their territory and taking many of their people as slaves. Now you have been called on by Coatl to end it once and for all, to kill their king and take his head.

Do you wage a full-frontal assault, a sneak attack from the understory, an aerial assault from above the canopy, or..?

Well well, two nat-20's... let's see if I can split the difference.

You take your team in by night. The already dim forest is rendered dark as pitch by the absence of the sun, but that's no barrier to a man with a primarch's eyes and the heat-sense of a serpent.

So smooth and subtly do you move that not even the world's predators catch sight or scent of you, and when you make it to your enemy's city, it is asleep, and defenseless.

Forming a plan, you divide your forces, placing one third of your men under Cipactli's command and sending him to breach the gates of the city.

As the noise and commotion startles the city awake, you move in, your own men slitting the throats of the city's priests and nobles in their beds, your own flail finding purchase in the skull of their king, such force imparted that it departs from his shoulders, and you make off with it into the night.

Roll to see if Cipactli survives. If you want him to die, call your rolls "Low", if you want him to live, call them "High".

    >>9031099
Head in hand, your forces slip triumphantly through the forest. The head of their serpent cut off, your enemies will flounder, your armies will take from them what is useful before their bodies are claimed by the jungle.

On the way back, you meet again with Cipactli's forces. A few were injured in the fighting, and he himself is missing an eye, but his head is held high, a smug grin splitting his face in the triumph of victory.

Despite yourself, you smile too. This is your first step on the path to godhood. Tomorow you will feast on your enemy's hearts, and the next day, you plan the next war, on the next enemy.

If /tg/ is still into it we might could finish up the childhood section and start the next thread leading our legion.

Tlaloc breathed deep, and even the air tasted sweet. All things seemed to feel more significant, more real, when one did them as a king. And he was King, a king like there had never been, not just of one tribe or forest, but the whole of the world. To his chosen son, Coatl had divulged secrets of arcane sorcery, machines capable of ferrying an army across the whole of the world, machines that spat fire and thunder and could kill a man from hundreds of yards away through even the densest underbrush, which could wound even the great canopic serpents which hunted in the treetops, and with these secrets he had conquered a world.

But despite his position, Tlaloc was not a happy man. He had begun to think he never would be, for no matter how much he conquered, it never seemed enough. He was a Namacuix serpent among bait-fish, and so long as he dwelt on this little world, so easily conquered, he could never find his destiny. This he contemplated as he gazed over the enormous golden temple built in his honor... just as it was cast into shadow by something massive, blocky and dark, like a ship fit to sail between stars. At this, Tlaloc smiled.

I'm feeling kind of spent at this point. Can someone archive this for me? We can spend the rest of the while talking about what to do next.
