Hello there, /tg/, 'tis I, Gerald Farthing, the Gentleman Barbarian again.

Things that happened in our last session:

-The Bard and the Wizard successfully managed to backtrack the magical trail left by the Orb to his lair in a big ruined castle.
-After a battle with some undead minions and the undead caretaker of the castle, we managed to destroy one of the BBEG's artifacts (though sadly he himself wasn't there, just the artifact).
-After some discussion, the Changeling Bard was sent into the enemy camp again to find the Gnome Warlord and see if shee would be amenable to a bloodless solution. She agreed to see us, but freaked out and stuck me in the guts with her spear.
-I stood up and refused to attack her while holding in my guts with one hand and covering my genitals with the other and suffered some more wounds, the most telling (aside from the gut wound) being a gash in my arm and a nearly severed ear.
-The group wisely chose not to interfere and carted me off after she was done venting her rage, though she looked a bit peaked when they left.
-Currently, I'm unconscious/healing and the Gnome Warlord has sent word to A) ask if I am alright and B) say she was sorry for overreacting, and if they can continue negotiating.

Overall, things have been pretty exciting, and judging by the fact that she was "sorry", it looks like sitting back and letting myself be a big ol' punching bag was the right move.

I had to... Shall we say, "distract" the Gnome Warlord while my compatriots raided her Command tent and stole a Scrying Orb that we needed.

Why'd she freak out and just stab you in the guts? Isn't the point of a bloodless solution supposed to be a, Oh, I dunno, DISTINCT LACK OF BLOOD?

She did not know I was part of the group at the time. Before, she thought I was just a surprisingly well-mannered cunt-tease from the rank and file of her army; then, when she saw me again, she just blew up. Here's how I left her the last time we had met:

    >The last Gerald Farthing saw of said Gnome, she was clutching a robe around her naked form with one hand and waving around a spear with the other. She was also cursing me out pretty heavily <_<

    >The group wisely chose not to interfere

Sounds like a dick move to me, OP.

    >B) say she was sorry for overreacting
After a woman stabs you and gets apologetic for it I think you have the upper hand in the relationship.

    >>8947541
Well, we assumed I'd be able to survive anything she could dish out, so we agreed beforehand that unless she was going to do something like chop my head off to leave her be.

Granted, I really didn't expect a spear in my guts, but we still made it out of there, and it looks like I made her feel bad or something by not fighting back. Either way, it looks like she's at least calmed down.

We certainly got some nice chunks of RP xp out of it, with me getting the lion's share due to practically spilling my guts on the ground. The others also got some, though, mostly in the pre-meeting (before she recognized me/realized who I was).

Currently, the Warden and the Wizard are slated to go attempt to negotiate while the Bard keeps me company in our home garrison. Assuming I make my skill checks (which are pretty easy, considering most of them are Endurance/Con checks), I'll be back up and raring to go by the end of the next session. I'll also have some interesting new scars to show to the ladies :/

4e game, he'll be good in a day.

Yeah, that seems a little weird, but hell, they have a Bard in the party.

Heh, just noticed, Warden, Barbarian, Wizard, Bard. Balanced 4-man party, split even Primal/Arcane. Kinda cool, actually.

I'm planning on taking a trip to the local church to get my wounds tended to by a priest once I can walk, but so far the ministrations of the Bard have been sufficient to keep me healthy, if not in optimal condition.

Huh, not quite sure "yandere" quote fits here. Yandere would be more "don't ever leave me... seriously". She seems to be acting reasonable... you know, for a D&D NPC.

We've got some modified rules, so unless you see an actual priest/medic and get patched up for an overhaul you'll eventually start building up negative points. I wasn't due for an overhaul when I went to the meeting, but afterwards, I've got a grand total of -2 points to various things (such as Athletics, Endurance, Attacks, HP, etc). Carliss (the bard) is also running on negative points (-1), so we're both going to go see the priest once I'm up and walking.

Is your DM using some alternate combat system? I ask because of the detailed wound descriptions you give, which, as we all know, D and D combat has no actual rules for.
    >> Anonymous 04/03/10(Sat)01:49 No.8948723
    >>8948666
Its a bit alternate, though nothing much. Roll 1d6 when attacking, with 1-6 being different areas of the body. Depending on your class/race, you've got a set number of points in each bodypart before it starts redlining and it confers a negative point.
    >> Anonymous 04/03/10(Sat)01:51 No.8948761
    >>8948514
    Not entirely accurate.

Tsundere starts out mean and disliking you, but then becomes increasingly more affectionate, often awkwardly so, over time. Examples include Kagome AND Inuyasha (note that males can be tusndere, too, just not violently so), Loiuse, Shana, etc.

Yandere starts out nice and loving, but becomes more violent over time, often horrifically so. Tsundere's slap you, beat you with a whip, kick you in the groin, etc. Yandere's come at you with a knife, or attack the girl they suspect is trying to steal you away with a hatchet, gut her to make sure she isn't/wasn't pregnant, and then run off with her severed head.
    >> Anonymous 04/03/10(Sat)01:53 No.8948795
    >>8948723
Addendum: only certain powers can use that, mainly stuff that only targets specific creatures rather than area/blast attacks. Area/Blast attacks don't roll and only give 1/3 of a negative point to all areas when they hit.

    >>8948761
What is it when she starts out affectionate, finds out she has been used, guts you, then starts to warm back up to you? Just dating?

    >>8948832
We don't know that she's "warmed back up" yet, just that she regrets having lost control, particularly in front of her men. It's a face-saving maneuver going both ways. Because he stood there and took it (Like a BOSS) rather than fought back, she has a reputation as assaulting cunt-teases, and apologizing is the first step in redacting her hasty decision to get violent.
    >> Anonymous 04/03/10(Sat)02:08 No.8949063

I posted it in the first thread, but here it is again.

    In our campaign:

    >Halflings and Gnomes are just different sizes/have some more exaggerated features pertaining to being Fey in our campaign setting, so human proportions exist up and down the scale (just, well... scaled down <_<).

As far as I (and the rest of the party knows), she's the only one who got a clear look at us (and me in particular, which explains why she didn't gut ALL of us). So, from the point of view of her army, it'd look like she just gutted an emissary at lolrandum

once the business is taken care of, ask to speak with her alone, and explain that you understand why she gutted you, and hope never to be on the wrong side of her again. (little humor will lighten the mood) depending on the reaction to that, you should know for sure what her personality is like.
