!!SbnXxXER/Ds 03/28/10(Sun)18:22 No.8842649>>standard infiltration unit Subprocessor is referred to following Skynet historical reference:
The T-840 series was designed as a prototype for several technologies that would later be incorporated in some fashion into the T-850. The self-repairing, long-lasting human skin covering was far superior concealment than the T-800 possessed. The new active network circuit allowed a significant performance boost as needed without being a constant drain on the unit's battery. The sensor suite was improved to allow superior target detection and situational awareness. Redundant systems were added to permit operation in the event of system damage. Finally, the CPU was refined to new levels of processing.
The actual T-850 would have a less resource-costly version of the skin, and the active network circuit would be further refined. Additionally, research on the hydrogen fuel cell was completed shortly before the T-850 went into production; this allowed it to have the many upgrades without the T-840's corresponding loss of battery life. Finally, the T-850 was designed to be quicker, stronger, and far more durable than its predecessors.
The remaining T-840s, less suited to a direct combat role than the T-850s but with the most lasting concealment of any Terminator, were programmed with a mission different than most. They were put into read/write mode, allowing them full autonomy and more rapid adaptation. Their mission was to get positions of influence to ensure over the years that government programs supporting artificial intelligence research prospered--and that programs against it vanished quietly. |
