44 KB Post-Valentine Quest, Chapter IV Original Plague Doctor !!JajszWhpsyf 02/19/10(Fri)16:39 No.8174457
You're a man in your mid-twenties, not exactly good looking, but not ugly either. You go by the name of Lucius. You're pissed that you didn't have a date for Valentine's Day, and on your hunt for something (or someone?) to do, you were lead to a secret night club under the local library where you were acquainted with four women, three of which you have had sexual encounters with.
You've just left the one girl Amber's dorm room and are now standing by the bus stop. It is 4:10PM on the 15th of Februrary 2010.
One bus arrives at 4:20, going down-town - you can take this one home.
Another arrives at 4:32, going west to the industrial part of town.

You stand around waiting for 22 minutes, nothing interesting happens. Seems most people are still in school or maybe out.
The bus arrives and you step in. It's the same grumpy old bus driver as yesterday. He takes your money - last cash, but you still have your credit card.
You sit, alone in the bus for a good 15 minutes before a young girl, probably 13-15 years old, dressed in black and blue with obviously fake dark-red hair. She goes to sit in the back of the bus.
You arrive 5 minutes later at the industrial quarters. The girl steps out too. She gives you a killer stare, then steers straight north.

She gave you an evil stare before she determinedly walked towards the chimney.

You follow at a distance. Other people are walking around, maybe two or three workers from the nearby factories. They look at you and you sense they're exchanging mockeries about you, though you can't hear what they're saying.

They're seemingly on their way to a factory down the road, apparently not up for trouble. Other workers come and go, but don't seem to take much notice of you other than mocking looks of disgust. It seems they have some sort of prejudice against you.

    >>8174975
There's an obvious pile of rubble on the other side of the fence of the abandoned factory. Among the rubble are plenty of pipes that can be used as clubs.

    >>8174984
No way she saw you afterwards, she had her back turned the whole time.

    >>8175018
You know there's an abandoned amusement park somewhere, though you've never been there. It's sometimes used for raves, but it's not likely that there should be one at this hour.
Else, it's just the boring industrial part of town, except of course for the abandoned factory.

You go back to the bus stop. It's quite crowded with workers, all mumbling something about 'the damn junkies.'
You get through the crowd, about a dozen workers total, and see the bus arrives at 5PM sharp. It's 4:52.
You stand around for a while and take quite a few mocking glares. The bus arrives soon and you get in last. The driver, a young man apparently of Arab descent, nods smilingly at your bus ticket.
You go sit by the exit, surrounded by workers all mumbling and laughing and having lively conversations.
The bus soon arrives mid town and the workers get off. A young couple, roughly the same age as you get in, but besides them and you, the bus is now empty. It continues towards down town where you live and soon you're home. You find your keys and get in.
    Time is now 5:43.

The museum has a research facility with partial focuses on geology and pre-historic anthropology.

Um, the name of whatever city we live in, plus "geology" and "history" and "job".

Nothing intriguing, but the museum (at which you work) has a job opening. They seek an assistant to the laboratory technician of the pre-historic anthropology department's research facility.

Hmmm, that sounds like something worth investigating. Pre-historic anthropology.....

Wait, how would that work? Anthropology is the study of humans and our history, but humans weren't around in prehistoric times!

What was the perception check for, anyways? Indulge my curiosity, please!

    >Hurr, think stone age... I'm not too sharp on my historical eras. Besides, prehistory is defined as before history was documented. I don't think cave paintings count as "documentation."

Fair enough. In that case, we should pursue that route. Maybe we can ask about it when we get to work.

    >You failed the check, thus you didn't notice what I had in mind. If I told you, it'd be metagaming and metagaming sucks

    >>8178568
So you've found a job opening at the museum. That job probably pays the same, maybe a tad more than your current job, but it's a step up the ladder of becoming an archaeologist.
    Time is 8:58.

Um..... screw around on the interwebs until it's time to go to work? Do we have to make a check to prepare lunch at lunchtime?
