I completely missed the newer Lego Castle themes.
My plan is to buy a bunch of swords, orcs, skeletons, gold, jewels and FIRE and see if I can't convince my friends to ditch their D&D minis for Lego.

My army now consists of these guys, a heavy battle wagon, with a mounted artillery railgun and slats for gunners. The minigun goes on the top of the two story wagon. I tried to make it as rediculous as possible.

You absolutely can. My buddy got into the game that way. Built 1,500 points out of Legos, including 10 tactical marines, 5 terminators, a rhino, a land raider, devastators, and scouts. Minifigs without helmets are roughly the same size as real Terminators, so about the same as tactical marines. Close enough. Plus, using measurements from real vehicles, it's easy to build Lego ones to match. His Land Raider is spot-on. It's beautiful
