Mildly dazed, you retort, "And I'm offering you the easy option. Send me home without any strings attached, and I won't come back here and kill you. And even if you kill me, that just means I'll carve my way out of wherever I end up and kill you slightly later. Also, I want my helmet back."
Jacob grins, and looks at the helmet, giving close attention to the trinket. "Ah, I see why. Tell you what, as I'm a reasonable chap, here's a trip home for free." With a casual wave of his hand you feel the floor disappear, and you fall down through the newly made portal. His smug smirk as he holds his helmet is the last thing you see in his realm.
As you land on the ground you hear a crunch, and quickly look round to see what's happening. You've landed next to the pit you fell down, and the portal there is gone. The chopped up remains of the two illithids are also nearby, and turning round you see roughly three hundred soldiers setting up tents and campfires, rotating watches and so forth. As one spots you he enthusiastically waves you over.
Walking up to him, you ask what's been going on, and the Royal Guard proudly describes how, outnumbered, they managed to defeat not only the undead horde up against them, but also the thousand and more relatively intact soldiers who were reanimated in turn as they fell. Dethis has taken back to hiding in the school, and the wall of force seems to be creeping outwards very slowly.
Overall, it doesn't seem too bad. The battleground in front of the building is completely covered with small bits of corpses, and it looks like the remaining Royal Guard have really made sure that nothing is intact enough to come back.
