My AdEva game is just about wrapped up, maybe one or two more sessions left. So, the Berserker (James Miller) and the AT Tactician (Jenny Hashley) have been having a mostly off-screen relationship since she was introduced. Evas holding hands as they walk back from a mission, them telling the Pointman (Angel Hybrid named Gabriel) to "Go on ahead without us," after washing off LCL in the locker room, that sort of thing.
So, after Miller tanged in the entry plug, Jenny spent a lot of time in the Cage, just staring at Unit 13. Sometimes yelling at it or crying, pounding her fists on it or throwing stuff, really freaking out the repair crews. I decided to break the rules a little for the sake of fun, since the dice said the SEELE attack was going to happen two weeks before Miller reconstituted. So in the middle of one of Jenny's cursing fits at Unit 13, I whisper
    >James
I could tell his player heard something, but before he could ask I announce to the Operations Director (Joe Lynch) that there are tanks, tanks everywhere.
He sounds general quarters and scrambles the VTOLs and tanks. They're horribly outnumbered and outgunned, especially once the naval forces arrive. The alarms at the front door to HQ go off, and video feeds show SEELE shock troops flooding in. Lynch sends Misato to direct the Nerv security forces and protect the canon pilots. Then he orders the Eva pilots to launch. Gabriel climbs into Unit 11 and Jenny throws one last wrench at Unit 13 before climbing into Unit 12.
    >James Miller

He looks right at me that time, but I go right to announcing that an N2 mine goes off just seconds after the Evas emerge from the Launch Points. Lynch throws up Barrier Plates as a reaction and saves their bacon (Motherfucker thinks of everything, I had forgotten that he put one on every side of almost every Launch Point). Gabriel and Jenny proceed to go all sorts of Godzilla on the SEELE forces. Especially Jenny. Lynch told her to cut loose, after an N2 mine drops there's not a whole lot of collateral damage left to be done. Cross Blast can take out a fuckload of tanks/warships at once.
I turn towards Miller's player, "Our friends are fighting without us." He replies, "Well, we can't have that, I haven't missed a day of work in my life." I tell him to roll a Very Hard Willpower test. Fails by one degree. To Lynch's player, "There was a small synchronization spike in Unit 13." He orders the bridge bunny to turn on Unit 13's CD player (Miller took some liberties with the inside of the entry plug) and crank the volume, heavy metal starts shaking the entry plug.

SEELE'S conventional forces are gone, and the Mass Production Evangelions (I threw out 13 of them instead of 9) arrive. Lynch orders Gabriel and Jenny to fall back to the Geofront, and they oblige. The MPEs breach the Geofront soon after, and Lynch's Positron Turrets open up, taking limbs off of six and the head off one before getting smashed, the four MPEs not dealing with turrets close in on the Evas. Jenny tangs two of them soon after with an Anti-AT Blast and Gabriel blows another's head off with a Positron Cannon called shot.
To Miller's player, "Everyone we know is going to die, along with everyone we don't." "To hell with that, I'm getting out there right now." He succeeds on his Hard Willpower test (Reduced difficulty because I thought playing his music was a good idea) and reconstitutes.
In Central Dogma, Gendo announces he's headed to Terminal Dogma. Lynch had already investigated the whole conspiracy thoroughly (Kaji got real talkative after three broken fingers and a kneecap), and locks down the doors out of the control room. "Unit 13's showing a sync ratio of 93%!" Lynch cracks a shot off at Gendo, who spreads a Barrier field. His player turns to me out of context and asks, "Where is the Cage in relation to here?" I think about it, remember the Zeruel fight from the show, groan, and answer, "The back right of the room. Like right there." Lynch grins, and shouts into his headset, "Miller, Ikari's about to kill us all and he's standing right behind his desk!"
Miller simply says, "Copy," and Unit 13's fist barrels through the wall and splatters Gendo on the floor, Barrier field uselessly deployed in Lynch's direction. Unit 13's hand forms the heavy metal horns and retracts from the room.

Unit 11 takes critical damage to an arm and a leg from false lances. Jenny takes some pretty bad hits and tangs another two. Gabriel nails another one with the PC. Unit 12 loses an arm and takes a nasty hit to the head, Unit 11 loses both legs and falls to the dirt. Jenny's able to catch all three ganging up on Gabriel with another tangy Anti-AT Blast, and Gabriel nails and disables two with the PC. The last one takes the other arm off Unit 12 before catching a carefully-aimed headshot from Gabriel. They all breathe a sigh of relief until the MPEs that weren't tanged get back up and take an arm off Unit 11 and the head off Unit 12. One makes a beeline for the control room after I remember that their dummy plugs are made of Tabbris and I can still have a Third Impact. Lynch releases the lockdown and orders everyone there down to the backup underground control room.
Miller arrives on the scene with his new Winged Form, picks up a false lance, and quickly dispatches the weakened MPEs threatening Jenny and Gabriel (One had ripped out Jenny's entry plug, big OH SHIT moment). Miller transfers Jenny into his entry plug just as the last one reaches into the control room, scrapes up the Gendo/Adam paste, and eats it. Giant of Light is a go, I rule it'll take two turns to form.

Lynch arrives at the new control room, puts up barrier plates, and Miller drags Units 11 and 12 behind them with him. Lynch orders FOUR N2 strikes and approves the Tactical N2 Punch. Unit 11 having no legs, he says it'll be done Gravity-Kick style with an assist by Unit 13. Miller says, "Don't fuck it up, Gabe. Your 21st birthday is next week and you can't drink the travesty the Japanese call beer if you incinerate yourself." The four N2 mines go off and disable Adam, and Unit 11 is thrown at him from on-high by Unit 13, Gabriel easily passes the SR check, and on the next round I allow Unit 13 to spread an Anti-AT Field and fire off an Anti-AT Shot through Jenny, since I didn't remember any specific rules about two people in the plug. That was all she wrote for Adam. Collateral Damage was somewhere in the 700 area. I called the session over on that note, we'll see about cleaning up the mess, aftermath, and what's going to happen in another session, yet to be scheduled.

tl;dr: My players whipped the shit out of this scenario, and I was actually shooting for a tpk BAD END.

    Slow. Fucking. Clap.

As a general rule, if you REALLY want to have a TPK, then just make things so that the only choice is how they want it to end. Of course, there being a chance of them going past it all is always great.

As for two people being in the plug: We figure we may as well toss some rules in, though there's been argument on whether they should really be necessary. The two times it's happened in the show seem to contradict each other, with Toji and Kensuke, despite them being suppsoedly A10 positive, not affecting Shinji at all--whereas Shinji in Asuka's plug messed things up for a bit.

Suggestions are welcome, as I at least have entirely forgotten what the standing proposition was.

All in all though? THIS is exactly the sort of thing everyone's glad to hear coming out of this game.

Wasn't the problem that Asuka was thinking in German, and Shinji in Japanese? Once she set it back to Japanese and they both thought in the same language everything seemed to be fine. Touji and Kensuke wouldn't have introduced this problem in the first place.

Man our groups final battle ended up with a massive dog fight at about 15,000 feet off the ground with a couple hundred SEELE controlled fighter jets supporting the nine MP EVA's as they assaulted our 4 kilometer long Hover Carrier and its defending Air wings. All the players EVA's had the Wings mutation by this stage, and the battle ended with the Pointman riding his crippled eva down to the surface while grappling with the last MP. Then the vice commander tried to start 3I.
