09/30/10(Thu)07:31 No.12275547>>12275499 The ACE I worked at had a home installed video system, and two locks in the entire store. ACE is a franchise, so the stores are all different, and generally very low tech on security.
The video system was five pinhole, midresolution cameras randomly placed around the store (fifteen aisles, and not a SINGLE FUCKING CAMERA LOOKING DOWN THE AISLES, JESUS FUCKING CHRIST), a set of barricade bars on the front door (that they never used and were fully manual), two deadbolts on the front door and a recessed lock on the loading bay curtain. The door on the loading bay had a charlie bar with bolts that could be slipped in to lock it down, but the bolts were rarely used, so a solid shoulder in the right place could knock the bar down.
The officer/breakroom had no lock on it (until just after the story I told above, when they then put a crappy schlage on it and a peep hole), and the power tool closet in the back had a simple MasterLock (which is funny, considering there was a set of power bolt cutters FIVE FEET AWAY, OUTSIDE THE FUCKING POWER TOOL CABINET).
They also had no alarm system, and the HDD that contained ALL the surveilance videos was in the loading bay, the one with the easily jimmied door, in plain sight. |
