On your order, the large force of drones from the Fleet Bases transfers to K19, as stealthily as possible, and conducts a thorough survey of the surface, disturbing nothing. There are very minute readings, which are rather inconsistent, but that is to be expected, considering the distance and the installation's standard shielding. At least it appears to be intact, since the geological probe reported only minor wall fractures.
While your team is assembled in Dreamwood, you attend to all those things you've neglected for the past weeks, clarifying orders and signing forms, taking a nice long tour and visiting the schools. Near the end of it all, you head over to the industrial sector, fashion a rather large truck chassis with aid from some of the omnipresent workers, and attach an ICE and a horn to it. The look on peoples' faces when you come barreling out of the woods on an enormous, rumbling metal monstrosity blaring the horn is priceless. Of course, you give a few rides before boarding your transport.
The flight to K19 is unpleasantly long, but survivable. There is no indication that the high nobles know where you're going or what you're up to, but you've come to expect them to know much more than you'd think they would.
The console in the installation's entrance is of a noticeably different designs than the others you've seen. It looks sleeker, and lacks a command panel. In addition to a flat display, it has a holographic projector, which spells out a welcome. FC reports that the facility is in operation, with quite a lot of comm traffic. However, the system architecture is unfamiliar. He can't find a place to insert the override program. |
