I was never able to get into the Redeemer mostly because the authors seem to love to show off his plot armour as often as possible without giving any real reason why it works out the way it does.

The Caller on the otherhand was pretty cool though my love of ratskins is a deciding factor.

wait IIRC the actual rulebook entry for the Redeemer, the Redemption and House Cawdor disowned the Redeemer 'cause he's such a douchbag nutbar, and that's saying something when the the Redemption doesn't want you 'cause they think you make them look crazy. So why would they bother spending the credits and devoting the resources to have Malkav cyberized so he could document a guy they just want to forget. By the Emperor this comic just pisses me off to no end, so internally inconsistent!

I never said anything about stopping S&P'ing, nothing can stop the Redeemer with plot armour that thick, he got hit in the head with a power axe to no effect.
My point was, why would the redemption bother making Malkav a cyborg to record the Redeemers tale when he's an embarrassment to them? But with my previous point in mind it makes more sense being that the writers don't give a fuck about 40k lore except where it's useful to their glorified fan-wank.

    How about.

    Enginseer Vort.

At first just a normal Enginseer of average skill maintaining tanks for the Guard.

But stranded on a Tyranid infested world he stumbles across a Titan! Better yet the Titans machine spirit yet lives and yearns to return to battle.

Vort being the only one there and the only one with any machine links brings the god machine back to full power and embarks on a one man one titan crusade to wipe out the nids.

    INQUISITORIAL REPORT

    SUBJECT: Daedalus Walder
NOTES: Techpriest of the Adeptus Mechanus

    INFORMATION:
Eighty years ago the Titan Icarus was lost during the Imperial Guard retreat at Sargasso Prime. Fifty years ago, the techpriest Daedalus Walden accompanied a Guard task-force sent to recapture that world. It is rumored that he discovered the downed Titan and recovered its machine spirit. Whispers in the Adeptus Mechanus hint that he somehow transferred the spirit into his own frame.

In the time since he failed to report in on a number of occasions and eventually went completely rogue. Every day he draws more followers from the Adeptus Mechanus who believe he has a link to their heretical god, the Omnissiah.

He reappeared seven months ago near Altarius VIII with a small fleet of Adeptus and proceeded to land on the planet and, with the assistance of the Skitarii who joined him, remove a virulent orkish threat. He appears to be searching for something.

    FINAL DETERMINATION: HAERETICUS EXTREMUS
