    Pelor, The Burning Hate.

Pelor is, in D&D, clearly an evil god.

Let us look first at his iconic cleric, Jozan.

Later on we find his casting the spell Symbol of Pain, a divine spell with the "Evil" descriptor.

The rules state that a cleric can not cast a spell with an alignment descriptor opposing his own alignment or that of his god.

Thus, Jozan can not be good, nor can Pelor.

This is the problem with the laissez-faire method of "everything can be refluffed" - there has to be a line drawn somewhere. If someone wants to play a blood sucking, murderous (or conniving), soulless beast, that is fine.
If they want to do it while calling on a divine power for their ass kicking source, that's fine. But it had better be a god that supports undeath, or a vampire god.
But Apollo? That's a sun god. Vampires hate the sun. The only way you could want to do that is if you're playing a Twilight vampire. And I have a butane Lighter that says you're not playing a Twilight vampire.
If being a Vampire can be refluffed - wait, it can't be refluffed because being a murderous, blood-sucking parasite comes with being a Vampire. That's a pretty solid, hard fact that comes with being a Vampire. Being a Vampire cannot be refluffed.

Also, if one is praying to Apollo for various reasons, if they are using priestly powers, that usually implies that the god supports them in some fashion. Would Apollo really support a Vampire? I wouldn't think so, because if he WOULD support a vampire pious to him, then he wouldn't destroy them when they went out in the sun.

One could say that the priest is fluffed to take his powers from his own faith, but not from the god. But a god is a god, and should have power over whether a mortal can do things in his own name or not. They are supposed to be super(if not omni)potent creatures. If I were Apollo, I would block all priest related powers of that Vampire, simply because he is claiming to worship me, and do things in my name.

    1) Vampires die in sunlight but that doesn't mean they hate it. They could in fact miss the ability to walk in the sunlight or the greater power of hunting in the sunlight.
    2) People often worship things they fear, respect or cause them death. A sun god if pleased enough could end the curse or avert the sun as a boon.
    3) The cause of their aversion to sunlight might not be Apollo's doing but that of another vengeful entity

Never liked angel, myself. But I'll give it a shot.
Apollo still blocks priestly powers until the character proves they want to reverse their condition. The hard route would be for the character to continue doing good until the god reverses the condition himself.

But the easier road would be for the character to actively look into a cure for vampirism.

So mechanically, if the vampire chooses the hard way, it takes about 3-4 quest lines before Apollo allows priest powers to trickle through, slowly. As Apollo trusts him more and more, the Vampire gets more spells and abilities until he gets his full allowance.

Then Apollo sends him on a quest to do something really epic. Like retrieve the soul of a murdered princess from the Underworld. The Vampire could do this through combat, or through making a deal with Hades.

Hades likes this lady, and doesn't want to give her up. So if he strikes a deal with him. Trading something the vampire desires most for himself.

In short, vampire's gotta prove he wants to do good, or stop his curse.

This not only provides copious plot hooks, but it also gives a wholly understandable, reasonable, and sympathetic reason for a vampire priest of a sun god to exist. A series of quests in an attempt to beseech help from a divine power that could do the most to reverse the condition, it's like the character is made with the intention to develop over time!

Good job, /tg/, we just made a potentially awful character concept into something viable.

I've ranted about this guy for a while, but he loves to play clusterfuck characters. The epitome of his terrible ideas comes from Changeling, where he designed a godawful character completely incapable of doing much of her own volition, or even WILLING to do much of her own volition.

The player gave me a backstory detailing her time spent in the Faerie realms, where her Fey captor had kept her not as a prisoner, but as a perfectly content child. She had her paint for her, and that was really fucking all. The player said that his character had always had a bad twitch, had to wear a mouthguard to stop herself from biting herself, was Russian, wore a diaper, and had approximately eleven different syndromes. She didn't want to escape her "captor" and the reason that she was sent back, according to her backstory, was the fact that her Fey master told her that she had developed feelings for her, and if the other Fey found out, they would kill her.

The character also had a crippling fear of black people. And guess what color the only other player's character was? Black, of course.

When I confronted the player about his shit character, TELLING HIM it was a shit character, we argued for two fucking hours on the subject. He told me that Changeling was a deep game, and that he had made a deep character that I wasn't used to since we tend to play "shallow" games like D&D. In the end, he called me pathetic because I wouldn't allow him to play his character, one of my main reasons being "she has eleven different syndromes."

tl;dr: My player made a diaper girl Changeling with eleven different syndromes that is afraid of black people and can do nothing but paint

They have no superhuman abilities, or vastly reduced ability, and so-on. Thus, they do most of their work at night and sleep during the day, so they're not at their weakest all the damn time.
