My friend can murder just about anything with his ERCS list. My god, you have not seen optimization until you've seen what he can do with a mixed-species force.

Biotic's are shit, their tech units are really expensive I can hardly afford them and their troop choices can only move once every other turn due to the out of breath rule.

I mean they gain access to mercs, which gives them basic troop choices from a lot of armies, but it doesn't make up for the lack of good elite choices.
