And MC hallucinates that Emperor is guiding him. In fact, turning into Commissars, Tanks crashing through wall and stuff, is all imagined by the characters. Only Chaos BBEG actually BELIEVES that it's all real. Ork player just follows the Ork Player(s) philosophy.

Eventually our heroes will have to battle through GW Nottingham/Tower in an attempt to stop Ward from doing his evil bullshit.

Whilst they do this they stumble across a small room occupied by a man dressed in black with silver gloves he has prosthetic arms and legs (although is surprisingly mobile), they start talking to him and the main thing he keeps repeating is that he can't believe they forgot about him all this time...

eventually he charges in ahead of the rest of them and gets his ass handed to him in an apocalypse match where the other GW employees who are supposed to be his team mates turn on him and through their combined strength he is wiped out.

Ork Player should be the generic bad guy who everyone fights at some point. He's seen as a joke character at first but he becomes incredibly competent in later battles once he gets his focus on the fightan' and winnan'.

Eldar Player is so stubborn that he refuses to change his army list that won two tournaments straight several years ago. This proves to be his downfall when he goes against the flexible armies of MC, who defeats the predictable Eldar Player with ease after losing one battle earlier. He becomes much more deadly in the second arc, when he switches over to the Dark Eldar.

Chaos player(s?) is last year's tournament winner and the current reigning champ. He cheats by using warp sorcerer frequently. MC goes up against him twice in the first arc but both battle are interrupted. His secret weapon is the daemon prince Angron.

Nid Player is a former champ who crushed Grandpa's squat army many years ago. Recently, after several years, he has mysteriously returned to the tournaments. Him joining is what motivates MC to get in on the tourney. He only appears twice during the entire first arc. The final battle in the arc is between him and MC.

Mat Ward appears at the beginning of the second story arc, interrupting the match between MC and the Nid Player. He creates a new tournament and forces everyone to get in on it, threatening to re-write their codexes if they don't. Being a GW writer, he possesses the power to change rules mid-game and likes to try and "spice up" matches between other competitors. His main army is Grey Knights, but he also plays Necrons, Blood Angels, Ultramarines and Chaos Daemons. He crushes the Necron Player and Ultramarines Player with their own respective armies. CEO fields his own homebrew marine chapter, handpainted with only tabletop quality. Roll some canned diolouge about the spirit of the game and draw him like a wizened old man, and you have another arc ending.

More wanted the CEO to be one of those average players, his own army history he made himself, handpainted army, and a poor list, but wins by knowing what to do and understanding the game. Plus that whole spirit = power trope.

Though I'm not opposed to him being yet another villian, and uses 'ard boys to paint his models, forgeworld to make them, and the writers to make the armies backstory, and has a team write his list for him.

Another idea for a character.

C.S. Goto. He appears in the second arc as Ward's loyal servant and is played off as a comic relief villain. He's incredibly incompetent at the game, mixing up razorbacks with land raiders and thinking terminatours use multilasers. Since he doesn't have a high rank in GW he doesn't have access to retcon powers like Wards, causing him to pathetically lose every battle he gets into. He also seems to have some creepy lust for the Eldar Player.
