Traveling from afar, your people come to this new land to escape the tyranny of those who opposed you. Blessed with Magic, your Elven brothers can heal the wounded, create Water, & cast fire from their palms, and influence your Architechiture with it.

You've set your Citadel in place of the Arid Desert, a harsh place that seems nearly void of life. Your people chose here since their supplies weren't prepared to go any further than this. The occasional Sandstorm does occur, however your structures are far too superior for its erosion.

Your Society is a Monarchy. You have a Prince, as well as his court. What will the Prince's first decision be?

    A. Scavenge for food.
    B. Try to Improve the Citadel
    C. Try to improve weapons.

You have taken the Humans up on their offer, much to their delight. They quickly make the exchange giving you the proper bindings for the Lizardmen. Upon their departure, you notice the Lizardmen seem quite frightful due to your magical skills, however you're kindess is proven when they are made citizens of your citadel. They become hard working members of your Society, even volunteering as Militia.

Meanwhile, your wizards delve further into their art, creating servants out of the sands around you. These elementals stand 3 feet tall, yet in teams can carry great loads. (Elemental Servants obtained) In addition your Fire capabilities now burn the Sand, creating a rather unique clear material out of it. (Glass obtained.)

Your Wizardry has now come to the point of Scrying, although such a spell requires the focus of your Wizards & a great deal of time to learn all they can of an area. They also improve their Animations, rendering them permanent constructs.

You go to investigate the Orcs, approaching them with No signs of aggression. One of their own, Addorned in Golden armor, rides over to your scout in the same manner. "We are the Great Kar'Rod Clan! We have perpared this army to lash out at the most evil Lizardmen who Defile this land in their Ungodly actions! Join us in our Crusade against them, & we will give to you great weapons!" With your scout back in the Citadel reporting this, you can tell the lizardmen are quite nervous at the moment.

It'll be fine. We'll just cloak our Citadel in enchantment and glamour, raising a great sandstorm around the exterior that'll prevent anyone from getting in. Well, so long as we can get through it just fine. Maybe the illusion of a sandstorm, or one that doesn't impede the progress of elves. Or we can just disable it whenever we don't need it.

My point is, armies can't march through massive eternal sandstorms. Ergo, we won't actually need to erect traditional defenses. And even if they do get through, glass golems.

    E & C1

You respond to the Orcs with a great supply of Rations, much to their appreciation. Upon hearing your decline to join their Assault, They seem a bit saddened, but appear to understand your neutrality. Once back at the Citadel with the Orc Army long gone, The Lizardmen seem most thankful for hiding them. They dedicate their children to the Army, in honor of your help.

Within the Coming months, Your Arcane arts comes to even greater fruitation as Levitation is discovered. Your Wizards appear to lift great objects with their mind. (Basic Levitation Obtained). Your Efforts also prove successful as Glass Elementals become a reality. These Elementals appear capable of combat as their arms often accidentally slice through the nearbly wood & stone they were crafted close to.

    Fuck having a floating castle.

What we need is a tower. A massive tower which is run on magic.

We always build vertically, never horizontally. There are no stairs anywhere. Travel is done by magic powered elevators.

In order to use an elevator, you either need magic ability & the knowledge to start the elevator moving, or a special access key of sorts (probably a pendant or something imbued with the same sort of magic you'd use to start it without). These pendants would be given to the non-magic using citizens, like the lizardfolk.

Outsiders would have to be escorted through our tower city, and this would also make assaulting our tower extremely difficult.

I'm going to say, for sake of argument, that enough guards would beat any group of assassins sent for our prince. But about the lizard or non-magical only living up the tower is rediculous. We can't force them to do jobs that require them not to touch the ground, especially with them making up the bulk of our army. If one of them is taken prisoner while out on the battlefield the enemy will have a key to our castle and if they have any magic power (magic being the god stat, apparently) they can duplicate it too. If we dont have a good militia the enemies army will be able to wipe us floor by floor with their (presumably) larger numbers, most notably if we never build out to the sides. I can't imagine our starting tower was too wide to begin with, it only had to house 40 or so elves.

A militia shouldn't really be needed once the tower is set up properly. Hell, we could use elementals for our standing army, they wouldn't even need to have pendants.

And I'm not saying the tower should be as small as the starting citadel. I'm sure it is indeed quite small at the moment. But building it an adequate size (with magic, of course) shouldn't be too difficult.

Even if it is as hard as adamantium, if hit enough it will come down. Making it shiny just attracts undue attention honestly. For a few Months, the Wizards work hard on their studies, not to delve for greater technique, but to make theirs presentable. Once done, They establish an Academy at the Citadel, allowing Elven Kind full access to the Arcane art.

Seeing it fit to Honor the Prince, the People offered up a great many choices for his would be bride. Noble Daughters, Powerful casters, and much more. However, during one stroll through his kingdom a charismatic girl had caught his eye. After but a few days, The Prince & The Lizardgirl had Decided to wed, much to the Peoples suprise. Feeling the response, The princes Court had arranged a challenge to all possible brides. They had to craft a Glass ornament like no other. Lacking magic, The Lizardwoman had to go through great efforts to craft such a material. Once all was said & done, many objects were brought forth. Roses stained to shine gloriously, Animals that held to them a near life-like appearance, & even poorly made glass statues of the prince himself. However, The winner was decided when A Glass Crown was presented, Colored to shine brighter than gold with greater detail. The Lizard woman was declared the Bride in her success, leaving the people to rejoice due to her great skill. (Advanced Glassblowing Obtained)

From this day and henceforth, the academy decrees that every fully realized mage must create a mount cor him or herself. To achieve the title of Teacher, the third highest rank after lector and magus principa, one must create or be a central member of a party creating a spell, discipline, or otherwise contributing to the academy as a whole.

Basically only great wizards teach, all of them get a personal mount.

I was thinking about it, before reminding myself that we aren't actually the Telvanni. In any event, they shouldn't be able to produce offspring, so either the King adopts, dies childless, or produces a bastard. The first or third option would be preferable, but we can work with number 2. Just set up a ruling council.

Besides, lizard-people die pretty quickly, at least relative to elves. The queen'll stick around for a couple decades, maybe a century at the outside, and then we'll get back to business as usual.

I see a large amount of gentlemen here choose E constantly and I don't think you're thinking through how our citizens lives might be affected by such an action. We are highly unproductive because we are par technologically and culturally to Paleolithic stone age humans. Imagine how they lived, which is pretty much how our citizens are living now. Our defenses also have numerous weak points. We only have automatons to protect us, what if something happens to them or they are somehow made obsolete? We have nothing to fallback on and we would be easy prey. We hardly have any tools behind simple stone clubs. Even our magical research is being hindered by our lack of technological progress. We can't get to floating towers if we can't stack two stones together. If devise more efficient ways to perform the actions that currently take up the largest amount of our time, which is the farming of food, we could then have more time to focus on magical research. To that effort we should expand our research into technology.
