Sorry about the delay everyone, my Internet went down and we just got it back up yesterday.

    Previous Thread:

You were investigating the Geothermal Plant to see if the turbines were damaged in the explosion.

And sorry in advance if I have problems linking to posts. The site is looking weird for me, the blue boxes around posts are gone, so I can't always tell where one ends and another begins. Is anyone else getting that problem, or is it just me?

This is bullshit, why are we trying to fix shit instead of gettting off this fucking island?

And you're bad at this OP. Not from a storytelling perspective, but from how you handle dice rolls. You ask for dice to be rolled, but you don't go with the first roll. You wait for a high roll. This takes away the danger when the character succeeds every time because you wait. If you do that, then don't have any dice rolls at all and just have the character succeed.

It isn't any fucking fun if you don't know how to do it right.
    >> Emergency Chair Warmer 03/09/11(Wed)16:30 No.14186550
    >>14186530

I don't wait for the high roll, wait for 15 min., most of the time, before posting. It's just that a high roll is usually made in that time. Perhaps I should post more often?

THAT IS NOT HOW ROLLING WORKS, MAN.
    >> Anonymous 03/09/11(Wed)16:32 No.14186577
    >>14186550
That doesn't make any sense. That isn't how rolling is utilized in quests. If you roll, you have to go with the first roll. Fifteen minutes gives people time to do a shit ton of rolls, and that removes all the danger and chance out of it, because within that time, someone is statistically going to get a pretty high roll.

I think you're trying to merge two different ideas. The first being rolling for actions, and the second waiting for 15 minutes to wait for a consensus of actions.

If you want to do that, you should wait 15 minutes for people to come to a consensus of what to do, and then you should ask for a success roll, and take the first roll to determine success. Your quest would improve dramatically. Good luck.

    > Last post from OP:
The floor circles the tank, and you can see the fail-safe valve on the piping leading from under the tank. Pieces of red, curved metal litter the floor. Some of them are pretty big. There are two doorways. One of them has no door and is completely charred, the other is in better condition with a hallway leading off. You can hear machinery from the hallway, probably leads to the turbines.

You keep lookout while the other two grab a battery, the place seems pretty quiet. Make an Athletics check to go back down the incline.

    Well fuck.
What the fuck did Dispatch expect though? Sending Maintenance personnel into dangerous situations without proper protection or warning, punishing personnel for trying to defend themselves from man-eating dinos, and acting like an all-round asshole, it was bound to happen.

    Look over to Emanuel:
"See? Dispatch can't control jack shit. We need to get this plant up and running before the raptors and the T-Rex break loose. No more being limited by rules, alright? We're the only ones that can keep this situation from getting worse."

Oh. Okay, here I was worried it was something horrible.
Frankly this is potentially a good thing. The island is in some pretty deep shit, if we can have a boat waiting for us once the worst of it is contained that's probably all to the good.
Still, I'm not sure whether we should let the other two know that we are possibly the only three not on strike. It feels like the right thing is to be honest, but we can't afford to have them abandon us.
