On the road leading out of town, by the side of what's probably a shut-down factory, a pair of Magma grunts have accosted your party. Sarina is right now trying to reassure them, saying that they were just headed out to the generator and that she was having a practice battle, thus explaining the Pokemon. The Magma guy is looking appraisingly at you, Magnemite, and Snover.

    What do?
    >> Researcher Sam 01/23/10(Sat)20:08 No.7741570
    >>7741518
But if this works, they'll expect us to head to the generator, which is the exact place we DON'T want to be. We might have to subdue them.

I'm disinclined to think that a Charmeleon walking over and hugging the Team Magma member will help us. Especially since Charmeleon are known to be aggressive.

    >>7741583
Yeah... Not sure that's a very good idea. I doubt they would approve of one of their "Team Members" teaching their pokemon to hug other members of the team rather than Battling.

(Also, Spell, you said you wanted other people to start trying to rp with the other pokes in the last thread, didn't you?)

Fair enough. Sarina is the one who mentions not blowing up the generator, while you say the thing about looking for your mommy. Skarem's reply is swift.
"You didn't, did you? I would buy it; you're not very clever! That was not a clever trick you played on my men; luckily for you, my men aren't very clever either! It is such a hard life we live, yes? Well, not you for long!" He laughs maniacally, and assuming that you turn around to say this to him, you finally get to see his face--or rather, a collection of natural formations that look vaguely facelike; he seems to have been horribly burned, his face coated with patches of mismatched and in some cases unnatural skin colors, with lumps of upraised flesh generally marking the boundaries. And the top of his head is, as far as you can tell, genuinely on fire at this moment.

You fire off a Smokescreen and run as fast as you can into the desert. The high winds and the sand they carry become immediately apparent to you, stinging your skin and causing instant pain to your eyes. Sarina and Courtney have both covered theirs with their sleeves, while Snover is stumbling along behind you. Magnemite doesn't seem to be affected at all.

You go for it. As you run, you see a tower loom up suddenly ahead of you, with an entrance probably too small for the Charizard; I'm going to take the liberty of guessing that you will run inside. You do, and the sound of the pursuing Charizard fades away, followed by a blast of flame through the entryway of the tower.

We outnumber Skarem vastly, and Charizard isn't able to fit in here. Even if he manages to make it inside, he still has to draw his Poke Balls out to summon help - giving us plenty of time to strike!

I think that on that note, I'll go to bed. I'm very tired and was up too late the last couple of nights.

Also, technically, according to the Pokedex, Charizard's fire can melt boulders, and I was going to have that be an ironic "oh shit" moment, but then I remembered that the sandstorm would probably flay both Skarem and Charizard before that happened.
