Hey /tg/, I suck, but you know that already.

In any case, I figured I should fucking post this eventually...In my continuing attempts to actually make this /tg/ relevant, I've got the prototype species splash pages here!

I'm going to re-do these- if for nothing else than to increase the page sizes, but unfortunately, I'm skimming the limit of 4chan's images. Hopefully, I'll be able to build these into a pdf eventually. I also have weapon rules, but fuck I hate tables.

Anyway, feedback, tell me how fail I am.

Oh, I should try to get across what I was attempting there-

Turians I figure should be the Mario as it were, good well rounders (awww fuck, just noticed the "Shan-Xi" typo, I'll fix that) without much going for them than being a little bit luckier.

Salarians should be brainy quick guys I feel. Since that's how they're cliched throughout the games.

Oh, also I divided species bonuses into "Ego" and "Morph". Alien psychology to differentiate them when they hop bodies.

"Well then, what the fuck do transhumans get?" You may ask. Well, not going bugshit insane when they get put into a different body, initial access to absurd levels of technology, and not having limitations. But, that might be enough. Remember, this is the pre-pre-pre-prelude to something actually good and concrete. Right now I'm throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks.

Moving on, Krogan. I felt they would be terrifying bastard combat monsters, but their ego hampers them somewhat. My future idea is that they can buy off the flaws by sinking some CP, but that'll be costly, preventing them from getting other badass things.

Looking at it again, this is probably where I got sloppy...

And asari. To be quite frank, from canon, they're kind of overpowered. I don't know how to balance that out. Being all biotic and shit. Man. Freaking blue space ladies.

Anyway, that's what I got so far. I'm working on the weapons tables now, which will be unfun. ME1's too generic, and I can't fight good pictures of the ME2 guns that won't clash with the art style. ME2's artbook is nowhere near as awesome as ME1's.

Anyway, if anybody out there has been reading or giving a shit, if at all possible, could you dig up some Bioware concept art that'd fit for Quarians and Batarians? I don't have good ideas for them at the moment, Batarians too indistinct, figuring out the suit rules for the Quarians, but I also lack good pictures of them. In a pinch, I can throw a pic of Tali up for the Quarians, but I'd rather something more generic. Preferably not game renders. Oh, and not fanart- I'd rather not run around asking permission to use it. On the other hand, if I rip off everything from ONE source (Bioware's concept art), then, uh, well, I only piss off one corporation.

I'm sorry to disappoint you good sir, but I'm out. I could divulge my weapons rules that I've thought up, but that would be icky wall of text.

Oh, and of course the tale of Xepard. But before I do that, I want to get some feedback on the RPG, and let this sink a few pages.

This whole setting seems like an attempt to take one of the scant few universes where humans weren't inexplicably the center stage of everything and then completely nullify that to no good effect. I mean, in all of your vignettes about alien species they're talking about humanity- I know it's "transhumanity", but still- What's the point of even having non-human species if they're all just there to stand on the edge of humanity's spotlight and toss jealous cynicism their way?
    >> Anonymous 10/12/10(Tue)02:57 No.12416478

Well, first of all, Mass Effect humans are definitely center stage. Shepard is a human, humanity bursts on to the galactic stage and attains council species/kills the council in a matter of years while other species have been waiting for millenia, and the godlike cthonic entities that have wiped out all life in the galaxy have enough of a hard on for humanity to try to make the next of their kind out of them.

Secondly, because of the fluff that Contagionist wrote and the random assortment of us off to the side have been working with, essentially has humanity doing the same thing but harder. I'm couching the fluff pieces in the idea of a crossover between Eclipse Phase and Mass Effect- by definition, thanks to the tech difference, they will be the center of galactic attention, and it forms the game's main conflict, in my most humble of opinion.

On the other hand, I've got scenarios for Vanilla Mass Effect play, Transhumanity Defeated, and No Human Contact being written up at the moment.

Still, you have a point- I can rewrite the fluff pieces to remove it from being couched on commenting on transhumanity. I went with that mostly because I started it with the Turian piece, but, if it's seen as tacky, I can change it.

Just pandering to the masses here.
    >> Anonymous 10/12/10(Tue)03:18 No.12416628
Mass Effect is pretty racist actually -- the three main council races are supposed to be bigger and more advanced than humanity, but this guy Shepard is a combat god and a leader of enormous charisma, to whom every female from every race wants to suck his big manly cock, and follow on his heels. He will drop Asari Matriarchs so senior to him in every concievable way it SHOULD be like pitting a baby against an elephant, goes into the Quarian's own turf and bitch-slaps their leadership (to the glowing admiration of many), gets a godamned Geth fanboy, makes hardened killers back down because he's the Godamned Shepard. And the Reapers know him by name.

There's not a 1000-year-old Matriarch somewhere with the creds to be the galactic hero over some 30-40 year old human infant? There's no extra-hard Krogan badass who could stand infront of a Reaper and be like "NOT GONNA HAPPEN". No Wang Wenli-like genius fleet commander amongst the Quarians?

My Shepard is a snow white Aryan master race male with piercing blue eyes decked out in shining white armor, max-paragon no matter what. It's the only way to play him, and it's the only way it makes him and the story make sense.

Our aptitude to the Diflus astonished even the most ancient sapients in the galaxy. As our shining spaceships began to be seen more and more at every spaceport within five hundred light years of Sol, they began to grow anxious. They had been keepers of the Diflus for half a million years, and here we were, the upstart race, here to take it from them.

Circumstances built to a head, but not a single human ever saw it coming. For all their storied wisdom and legendary patience, the Ancients moved like lightning. In just one galactic standard month, 565 Trans-Solar Navy ships were blown out of space with no provocation. More than fifty percent of our military might was destroyed through guile and treachery.

We tried to fight back, of course, but we were new to the galactic stage. The other races, despite their shock at the sudden attack on humanity, owed millennia of allegiance to the Keepers of the Diflus. Some of they may have sided with the Ancients reluctantly, but we won't ever know--no one raised a single word of protest as our pitiful fleet was crushed.

Our government was dissolved, and humans became galactic third-worlders. Even the Ancients, for all their authority, could not instigate genocide and retain their grasp on the galaxy. Our military shattered, humans began to leave Earth in droves for planets with some modicum of protection. Pirates, thieves, and other unsavory sorts descended on our mother planet and ravaged it mercilessly.

The Ancients, secure once more in their command of the Diflus, settled back into their timeless governance of the stars, and all traces of their sudden, unprecedented aggression drifted into memory.

    But humans...
    humans have a long memory.

Because frankly they kind of are. The flotilla wobbles about from system to system begging for resources and generally making themselves a colossal pain in the arse until someone gives them stuff to go away.

They're such a huge pain in the dick that many systems will actually send them free shit just because someone has told them that the Flotilla is coming to visit them next, in the hopes that this will cause them to go somewhere else. It's sad and probably unavoidable, but they still do it, and thus many people don't like them.

Essentially, the Flotilla is a smelly old man who shows up one day and follows you around with a sign that says "Giv me sum munney and i wont folow yu hoem".

The default assumption in those appears to be "what if the Mass Effect races encountered Eclipse Phase transhumans".
    >> снайпер 10/12/10(Tue)04:37 No.12416980
Linya nar Qwib Qwib gulped as she eyed the metal giant beside her. She'd heard rumors of a new species that the council was trying to keep secret, but she didn't expect them to be machines.

When the strange ship had come into contact with the flotilla, her people had scanned it thoroughly and were surprised to find no lifeforms on board. At first they thought it was a derelict, ripe for salvaging, but when it opened communications everyone panicked. "Geth" had been the word around the fleet.

When a video link was established, They saw that it obviously wasn't the Geth. They were a new race, and it was swiftly uncovered just who and what they were. Transhumans. Organics that placed their consciousnesses into machine bodies. Incredibly advanced and incredibly dangerous. A good reason for the council to squelch the knowledge of their existence.

For some reason, the Admiralty had invited them aboard, and there was a palpable feeling of excitement in the air. Linya boosted her audio receivers, but she could only make out bits and pieces, something about tech transfers and medichines. While the negotiations had gone on, one of the larger TransHumans noticed her, despite her attempts at stealth and the fact that its back was turned. There must be some rear optics, thought Linya. The giant turned and approached her, leaving the negotiations. Apparently it wasn't taking part in them anyways.

"Hello there. My name is Magnus. You seem to be pretty interested in us. What's your name?"

At first, Linya couldn't say anything. The TransHuman was easily three heads taller than she was and bulkier, probably some kind of security for the diplomats. She took a deep breath: "My name is Linya!" Her voice had cracked from nervousness and she muttered under her breath. The TransHuman on the other hand, was laughing.
    >> снайпер 10/12/10(Tue)04:37 No.12416983

"Nice to meet you Linya. So, what would you like to know about us?"

Was it really talking to her? First Contact with a new species and she was going to talk to them? Linya was floored and she struggled to pull words together. "Well, I suppose that, well, I would like to know... 'what' you are?"

"I'm a TransHuman. We separated our minds from our organic bodies and can inhabit any body we create for ourselves."

"Not that, I mean, what I meant was, are you... a man? A woman? Your voice is deep, but that's not a universal thing."

Magnus' laugh sounded metallic as it was produced by the machine body he inhabited. "I'm male. I take it you're female? Your body type seems to be the norm for females."

Linya turned a dark shade of purple, and was thankful her mask didn't let it show.

"Y-Yes, I am a girl. But I won't be considered a woman until I finish my Pilgrimage, which is a journey we Quarians make to prove that we can be useful to the Flotilla." Linya tried to cover her nervousness by being factual. It didn't help much.

"I understand that you can't leave these ships because you have a weak immune system. Well, nothing's permanent yet, but if this deal here goes off then that might not be a problem for you any more."

    Linya went rigid. "What? How?!"
    >> снайпер 10/12/10(Tue)04:38 No.12416987
    >>12416983
Magnus' amusement was in his voice. "We've got some pretty good technology when it comes to machinery, as you can imagine. Medichines are microscopic robots that act as an immune system. They'd be able to keep you safe against pathogens and allergens."

"We'd be able to take a new world..." Linya drifted off as she thought of the possibilities.

"So," Magnus said, "While the diplomats are busy talking, why don't you show me around? I'm sure no one will mind a giant robot wandering the halls."

Linya thought for a moment, wondering if the TransHuman was up to something. She decided that if she kept an eye on him, he wouldn't try anything dangerous. "Alright, follow me then."

The two of them wandered through the ship. Magnus inquired about several things, like the history of the Quarians and the nature of the Geth intelligence, which Linya answered to the best of her ability. She asked Magnus about what it was like to have a robotic body. Finally, they came to a hallways lined with doors. Linya opened one up and invited Magnus into her room.

"Well," She began, "This is where I've lived most of my life. This room can be sterilized so that I can take off my suit for maintenance and when I just want to lounge around. There's a vidscreen, a computer, furniture, and so on."

"Not bad. I like the computer but I don't think this chair would hold me." Magnus rocked the chair for emphasis.

"So, I guess what I would like to know most about is how your body processes sensations. You used to have an organic body with nerves, do you still feel things now?"

"Well, it's a little different, and I can choose what I feel and when. Pain isn't there anymore. Instead it's just an information feed about damage, lets me focus on what I'm doing. Touch is pretty much the same, I can detect heat levels, heck I can even alter my own body temperature so that I can operate in extreme climates."
    >> снайпер 10/12/10(Tue)04:39 No.12416993
    >>12416987
Linya noticed that Magnus had left out one very important physical sensation, and she was incredibly nervous, but also incredibly curious. "What... what about, you know..."

    "What about what?"

Linya stared a hole in the floor. "Well, you've told me how most of your body works, but you didn't tell me if you still feel pleasure." Her voice had dropped at the end, as she tried to cut herself off, but the result was instead sultry and seductive, an effect she had not expected.

Magnus rotated his head in the fashion typical to show confusion. If he had eyebrows, he'd be raising one of those as well.

"Pleasure? That's one that is under my control. But to be honest, doing that yourself isn't all that great in a robotic body. The thrill comes from having someone else, not being able to tell what they'll do next, wondering where their going to touch you..."

Magnus stopped and noticed that Linya had gotten very quiet and was sitting very still. He couldn't see her face, but behind her mask Linya's face was a deep purple shade of embarrassment. But that wasn't the only reaction she was having.

It felt like forever until Linya spoke again. "So, then, how do you actually, do it? Is it just an information transfer? Maybe a network connection?" Linya's voice grew higher as she listed all the ways that Magnus could have sex (she shuddered as she thought that word) without actually having sex.

"It's usually up to the people involved, but I have a, um, physical component." Magnus was incredibly grateful that his body didn't blush or exhibit embarrassment. Otherwise he'd be beet-red.

Linya's breath caught. She couldn't believe where her line of questioning had gotten her, and she was torn between shame, curiosity, and arousal.

"A physical component? You mean... but, I don't see..."

Magnus knew where this was going. Being honest with yourself was something you learned after living for centuries, and he decided that if this girl wanted to fuck, he'd go for it. He issued a mental command, and a hatch on his lower chassis popped up, revealing a dark recess.

    Linya leaned forward.

With one shaking hand, she reached into Magnus' body and felt a soft, squishy 'thing' inside. She was practically hyperventilating as she drew her hand out, holding a long, pink... well, it looked like a sex toy. It was transparent, and inside there seemed to be some kind of gel. The... component... also seemed to be made up of several different parts. From the way they connected, it looked like they...

    Linya gulped.

    moved.
    >> снайпер 10/12/10(Tue)04:42 No.12417006
    >>12417001
"H-H-How d-d-does it work?" She tripped over every word, holding some stranger's genitals in her hand was not normal behavior for her. She tried to rationalize that it wasn't real, but this was a thinking, intelligent creature.

Magnus issued another mental command, and an electrical shock triggered the gel, making it shift into a semi-solid state. His component jerked free of Linya's hand and grew to a respectable size. Linya, for her part, fell flat on her ass from surprise.

However, now that it was 'erect' (she shuddered again) she could see more clearly the differentiated parts. There were circular parts, square parts, nubs, and the end was dominated by a large bulb. Linya shakily stood up and walked over to the wall, where she hit the decontamination button.

There was a hiss, and an opaque white gas flushed the room. It was quickly ventilated, and Linya reached up and removed her face mask.

Magnus' first thought was how human she looked. Two eyes, a nose and a mouth. The color of her skin was a dark purple, though it changed around her cheeks. He assumed she was blushing, which was very true.

Linya began disassembling the rest of her suit, taking out tubes and hoses and placing them gently into a pile. Nude, she approached Magnus slowly, again appearing seductive by mistake. She took hold of Magnus' component again, stroking it gently.

Magnus' body didn't have any automatic responses to things like pleasure, so he had to consciously show that Linya was doing a good job. He clenched and unclenched his fingers and let out a mechanical sigh as the stimulation was translated into pleasure by his mind.

Linya had no experience past the magazines that she borrowed from some of her friends, so she was unsure what to do from this point on. Magnus' hand gently pushed her down, and she complied, getting on her knees, eye level with the component.
    >> снайпер 10/12/10(Tue)04:42 No.12417008
    >>12417006
Magnus watched as Linya opened her mouth as wide a she could and took in his component. While he'd been with other morphs, the feeling of an organic was hard to beat. He could tell she had no experience, but she certainly made up for that in effort.

The component was soft enough that it could bend, and Linya had no problem working her mouth around it. She pushed until it was to her throat, then pulled back off, squeezing Magnus' softer part between her tongue and the roof of her mouth. She traced the small ridges between the various sections with her tongue, circling the nubs and flicking at ridges. Magnus' groans encouraged her, and soon she was shamelessly sucking him off.

She pushed forward again, fitting half of the thing in her mouth, when the component came alive. Slowly at first, the various nubs along the length began vibrating, and other parts began to slowly spin around the shaft. Linya's thoughts went south, and she couldn't help but imagine what this thing would feel like inside her.

Linya pulled herself off Magnus' component with a loud pop, and stood back up. Magnus took the time to examine her again. Her whole body was flushed to a dark blue and purple, her nipples were erect, and her legs were dripping with liquid. She seemed unsure of how to proceed, so he decided to make the next move.
    >> снайпер 10/12/10(Tue)04:43 No.12417012

He took her by the shoulders and turned her around, gently pushing her over the table. He positioned himself and slightly prodded Linya's entrance. After determining that she was ready for him, he pushed forward as far has he could go, and his entire component slid inside her.

Linya gripped the sides of the table as Magnus entered her. The pressure was unbelievable, and she squeezed back in retaliation to the unfamiliar feeling. That sent a wave of pleasure through her that she had never experienced on her own. She let out a low moan and left her mouth open as Magnus slowly withdrew, leaving only the bulb inside her.

Linya waited for the next push, but nothing came. She looked over her shoulder and saw Magnus standing there, waiting. He beckoned her towards him, and she got the hint. She leaned back, drawing more of her partner into her. Once she was flush against his body, she felt the component activate inside her.

The first ones Magnus turned on were the vibrating nubs that ran down the sides of the shaft. He simply held himself inside Linya and let the component do the work, and soon Linya bucked her hips and screamed as she had her first orgasm. Magnus turned off the nubs to let her catch her breath.
    >> снайпер 10/12/10(Tue)04:44 No.12417014
    >>12417012
Linya couldn't do anything but gasp for breath. She had muffled her scream, but her whole body was shaking from the intensity of the orgasm. Slowly, she recovered and pressed herself against Magnus again. This time, the entire component turned on. Vibrating nubs, spinning plates, circling plates, the end bulb grew and shrank almost rhythmically. Every inch of her was being stimulated, but Magnus only stood still. It was up to her to do the thrusting, a task she took to with exuberance. Linya ground against Magnus' body, pulled herself forward and slammed herself back down, crying from the overwhelming sensation that was taking her. With her next orgasm, she pushed herself so tightly against Magnus' body that her skin was discolored. She held it there and rode out the pleasure.

Magnus was no longer controlling himself. The information from his body overloading his limits, electrical signals begin converted to pleasurable sensations that left him unable to do anything else but let himself be washed away in the feeling.

Finally, Magnus' mind reached a preset limit. An automated signal went out and the component deep inside Linya contracted powerfully, ejecting a large load of the thick pink gel into Linya. The gel filled her up and leaked out, trailing down her legs and pooling on the floor.

With great effort, Linya pulled herself off of Magnus, her breath hitching as she passed over the large bulb. With a barely perceptible whir, the component disappeared into Magnus, and the hatch closed shut.

    >>12417014
Linya fell down into the chair and started giggling uncontrollably. "That... that was the best thing I've ever done. Keelah! that was amazing!"

Magnus nodded."It was incredible." Magnus' body had immediately restored his mind to a pre-sex state, but this was definitely a memory worth reviewing.

Linya held up some of the gel. "Is this safe? I mean, it's an alien substance, it could-"

"Don't worry, it's hypoallergenic by every standard we know. Council standards too. You'll be fine."

Linya licked some of the gel off her fingers. "You know, this stuff isn't half bad." She ran her hands across her body and sucked the gel off of them.

A mental trigger alerted Magnus that his presence was requested. "Well Linya, I enjoyed this very much, but now I've got to get back to work. Maybe I'll see you again."

"Maybe Magnus, maybe." Magnus left the room and headed back to the diplomat's chamber, running cleaning cycles to remove pheromones and other secretions from his body. But even though there would be no more physical evidence, he filed away the memory into his core data, ensuring that it would remain with him forever.

I guess you missed the part where baseline humanity pretty much doesn't exist in ME. Almost everyone is at least genescreened and genefixed for basic genetic problems, and *every* Alliance soldier is subject to a genetic upgrade package.

Seriously, do that one quest on Noveria where you have to talk to the dude whilst an Asari hacks him. You even get to argue about whether X increased clotting factor is better than Y increased clotting factor.

And EP isn't a setting where Humanity is doomed. It's a setting where Humanity has taken a beating and needs to get back on it's feet.

Of course, the Mass Effect setting has its own variant of the sword hanging overhead. Not hard to combine the two from each setting into one.

What was the impending doom in Eclipse Phase, the threat of the Titans returning or the fungus aliens finding out that we've already done all the things they asked us not to do prior to them making contact with us?

    1. The TITANS weren't gone entirely. They still had control of Earth. Mostly they just... stopped killing humanity and fucked off to who-knows-where.

    2. The book talks about possible reasons for the TITAN AI's going batshit insane, and one of them revolved around the exsurgent virus and how it could have been sent out by a superior alien race seeking to wipe out any civilizations that grow too advanced. Which fits in almost perfectly with the Reapers - who want intelligent life, but nothing strong enough to stand up to them, which is exactly the direction that Transhumanity was/is headed with the kind of technology they're developing.

Well.. For starters the Krogan blood rage should be an morph ability, because basically it's an human adrenaline rush amped up to eleven, no action from the ego involved. However the ego penalties seem alright otherwise.

Also, I would lower the Salarian COG bonus to +5 because I assume these morphs are Flats, and give the +10 to a Salarian Splice equivalent.

    >Turians not as advanced as humans

WUT? The Turians are on equal footing with humans as far as technology goes just like everyone in Council Space. Humans were nowhere near their level of tech during the First Contact War and humanity only took back Shanxi after amassing a full fleet. After Shanxi the Turians would have gone to full scale war with humanity had the Council not intervened.

Not only that but their ship weaponry is far superior, the Prototype cannons Garrus installs on the SR2 are of Turian design which was backwards engineered from Sovereign's guns; only the Turians were able to pull that off according to their description in the codex.

Turians aren't the technological powerhouses, that's the Salarians. What Turians have is basically the will to endure on, despite being the Mario race. However the fact the technology is stagnated and develops slowly on a path the Reapers want. It's only after Sovereign was destroyed did they develop the Thanix cannon. Generally Salarians are on top that shit, but since Turians have almost unlimited military spending and leeway they pushed the Salarians out before they could get their hands on the technology.

There should be an alternate setting where mankind decided not to tell the council everything and to build up in prep for war instead. They manage to keep a lid on their secrets for a good while, (Helped by Turians airquoting every Salarian discovery) then it finally gets public in a way even the council would notice. Now a war has come to the stars. The Council has an edge in conventional firepower, but Transhumanity was not caught unprepared. They have things like a "cure"(using controlable nanomachines to turn it on/off) for the Genophage, etc. . . .

    Okay.
In canon, Mankind decided to be open with the aliens in a spirit of cooperation, trusting in good will to avoid unfair consequences. It was a narrow choice. A single event could have altered this choice, and the fate of the galaxy, forever.
The event in question was almost trivial. A minor delay in coding, less than a hundreth of a second long. It would have made no difference at all in normal conditions. A battle is far from normal conditions. When the hackers acted to disable the Turian warships, one of them was too slow to prevent it from opening fire on the planet below.

quite nice the char sheets, but the salarians ego attributes ought to be at his morph characteristics, because they are have such heightend capabilities due to the faster metabolism and shorter life.

Or the ego bous should apply only when slarian ego is in a salarian morph. in say, a furry morph his ego bonuses fly away... same for turian( mostly because of conflict if he till is a turian). the asari perhaps could keep her ego characteristic in a different body (definitely the savvy will remain)...

    just my opinion.

there should be massive dice rolls in the mental department and severe repercussions for any alien trying to use a different morph than one similar to their body( so a Asari recasting itself in a Asari morph with heavy improvements ought to have no problems, but trying a salarian or a human morph would be a very daunting task, with mental illnesses lurking all over the way and serious identity crises)

Currently working through some ideas on how the stuff on the Planetary Consortium in "Sunward" could be applied to this mashup. I'm thinking that what happens is a civil war almost breaks out within the PC when word gets out about the Prothean ruins on Mars and the relay contained there, breaking its influence just enough to allow the creation of a Systems Alliance that actually has some semblance of power. The PC isn't gone, but it now has two major internal factions that don't much like each other, one of which is in favor of greater contact with the galactic community and one of which wants to be more cautious.

Isn't that what basically happens in the Contagonist's backstory?
Except there is a fullscalle war, the PC surrenders and the technology is distributed among transhumanity. The Systems Alliance is then created out of necessity and is very frail due to a lot of infighting.
    >> Anonymous 10/13/10(Wed)21:40 No.12435106
    >>12434937
Not quite. More like the PC is prevented from grabbing the Charon Relay and forced to make common cause with the Autonomist Alliance in the outer system in order to use it.

I thought of the PC civil war when I read the descriptions of the hypercorps that actually run the PC and realized that several of them would logically be at odds over the Prothean ruins on Mars. It also seemed necessary to prevent the whole thing from just being a PC-run show, because otherwise they just control too much of transhumanity's population and military strength to not steadily usurp control of the Systems Alliance.

I'm sure the more reliance on body language, and tone matters to a Quarian. They can't see each other's faces, so body language may have more emphasis.

As for Cerberus I could see Cerberus being an offshoot of the Jovian Junta. Perhaps using the Junta's military philosophy but applying it to all of Transhumanity instead of the bios only.

oh bugger me, I can't believe I did that.

Anyway, as far as other race pages go, I know I'm going to do Batarians, because they're the other kind of norm species. Regrettably, official concept art aren't there, so I'll deal with that later.

After that, I suppose Hanar/Elcor/Volus. There's art of them, and they're popular enough. It'll just be a little strange to figure out the stats for them, and how they can interact with the environment. Regrettably, I think the volus will be suffering the most in that matter. Collector morph would be cool past that, but they'd probably be NPCs. Don't really have insight into the Collector Ego other than 'can be possessed at any time by a reaper across the galaxy for some reason.'

But before all that, I want to get another chapter of the whole dealie that started this out, and maybe scratch up some intro fiction to preface the book.

You know, this is exactly what little children do. When they see something in a story or movie that's not going their way, or they don't sympathise with the protagonist, or a particularly unlikeable villain is getting the upper hand, they usually insert in a more powerful hero of their own choosing/imaging and rewrite the whole story in their minds to something closer to what they expect of it.

Most kids grow out of it. Not Eclipse fags.

Although EP/ME comes off a bit wankish, people should really give a little more credit to the Citadel's technology and stuff.

We take so much of the Mass Effect Universe for granted that most don't really notice that the health system and other quirks are actually happening in the universe (not getting shot for 5 seconds restores you to full health) and other quirks.

For better or worse we should assume that Transhumanity is more comparable to the Geth, which most people doesn't notice, are the real Mary Sues to the ME universe.

    And one more thing!

You fags seems to have never heard of the basic Idea of crossovers, and even with the small flaws of EP/ME you haven't really seen WANK until you see the Draka/ME crossovers, the many, many and unnecessarily frequent Halo/Me crossover (with all the bullshit including the retarded Super MAC Teraton yeilds) Dr. Who/ME and a C&C/ME (with the GDI alone being equal in power to the Citadel thanks to Tiberium monopoly and lolbuildtimes)

There's even a Naruto/ME setting out there, don't even get me started on that one.

I admit that the very first time I created EP/ME here
    http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/8224490
It was basically an excuse to talk about ME in /tg/ again but I'm not unhappy with the results. I was surprised some writefags actually rolled with the Idea and continued it to this day. I also archived most of these threads on /suptg/ incluiding this one DEAL WITH IT

A setting is just a stage for the story, good writing can make even the worst crossover ideas entertaining, and a bad writer can take the best setting ever and fill it with furries wearing diapers. If you want to enjoy a setting, you can ignore the plot holes and the bad fanfics and focus the good parts. If you want to hate something, you can find hundreds of reasons to justify your hatred and call anyone who disagrees with you an immature poophead.

I like the EP/ME setting because the obvious differences in scale, technology, and stability between the two offers a lot of potential for interesting social, economical, and military conflict. It's not anywhere near balanced enough to make for a standard adventuring party type rpg, but it's fertile ground for storytelling. So far the writefags have been more hit than miss, there's been the board mandated minimum quota of HFY! and xenophilic fanwankery, but the volume of interesting and readable fluff has been well above average.

I want to know what happens to Xepard's team next, I'm actually enjoying your story more than Bioware's.

Xepard's internal dialogue makes for better character development than vidya Shepard's kick puppy/save orphans decision tree. I also found ME's portrayal of humanity as the plucky underdog and the council as incompetent authority figures just as cliched as the unstoppable super soldiers that that fill up most of the HFY! threads. Devious, blackmailing politicians and helpful but untrustworthy foreign operatives make for more interesting stories, so long as they are written well.
